Worst experience!! Run away!! I got burns on my eyelids!! I did a facial 2 days back at this salon! I had a very bad feeling going in that it would be a bad idea! Dint listen to my gut or the previous yelp reviews!! :( dont do my mistake! I told the salon person i have very sensitive skin and I have not done any salon facials in the 4-5 years. The lady convinced me that Aroma gold is good for sensitive skin and i should opt that instead. I fell so it! Both my eye lids got burns! It was stinging for 48 hours straight. I came here on a friend's recommendation and went in on a weekday during lunch. I was able to get in and out within 10-15 minutes. I got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded and was charged $15. If you're expecting conversation here, that's not what you'll get. If you want the job done well and quickly this is the place to go. She was very nice but she was going super suuuper slow... going over and over repetitively.. It felt like she was tweezing my eyebrows while scraping it.. It usually goes by fast so the pain is bareable only because it doesn't last long. They usually have no problem with my acrylics (mind you that they are not at all!!) A1 is the worst threading place with zero customer service -- either the ladies are rude to the customer, ignore the customer, or are multi-tasking and distracted while trying to service the customer. They also don't do a good job with threading, messing up eyebrow shapes or leaving behind hair. They also lack privacy in their waxing rooms, people walking in and out while someone is getting waxed. And I've recently noticed they don't clean up or sanitize the waxing place/seat before or after. Maybe people don't care about customer service as much when getting threaded, but I think it's worth noting that with the same money you can go to any other well established waxing/threading center where you'll get quality services and be treated a LOT better! read more

Customer service is minimal, most of the time they barely acknowledge you unless on a miracle day were they're kind of nice. So keep note they'll just point to where you need to sign in and then call your name and then you get your service. Don't expect a greeting or small talk or any of that customer service type of stuff. Depending on who you have, you'll sometimes have a person who makes your eyebrows perfect and then other times they are okay and may cut you and not say anything. I go to this parlor since I moved to San Jose. I tried few other places like Pulvy eyebrow place and couple others. But they're not worth it. Their staff is ruthless and their place is nasty. It's been 2 years since I'm going to A1. They do wonderful job and their staff is really helpful and friendly. Sometimes I have to wait for my turn but it's totally worth it rather than going to some other place. And their prices are really cheap as compare to the service they provide. Went to this place with my mom & grandma as a walk in and as soon as we walked in we were not greeted by the workers.. they didn't say hi or welcome in. I came here 1-2 times every month and only with pretti. After the last experience I would never ever step foot in this place ever again. I been going here for the past year and a half and had really good and bad experiences. The first bad experience was when i had someone other than pretti wax my brows and she cut me(also made me bleed) and told me it was going to go away right away. It did not go away until a month later. She did not apologize. The second time was when i was getting waxing in the room and they didnt close the door and people would just walk past the room. They also rush so they can take in more clients. The last time I was here I went to Pretti as always to get my eyebrows threaded. She did not listen nor understood what I wanted. She made my eyebrows ROUND. Then she threaded a whole chunk of my eyebrow off which was so obvious my eyebrow was missing a chunk. I grew my eyebrows out for TWO months and there was so much hair and she totally destroyed it. Then she continues to make up excuses saying my hair grows light there. How did I have hair and a chunk disappears? The issue is that hair grows back, so if she admitted to being at fault i wouldve just gotten over it. But she continued to tell me it was my fault and its my hair. I extremely do not appreciate poor customer service when i been coming here for over a year and always leaving a good tip. I went to benefit brow bar and they fixed my eyebrows. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND PRETTI!!! They do not value customer service and will rush you out.
