I would give this a 4.5 if I could! Our food was good, but the steak wasn't the best steak I've had in Denver, especially for the price. We still enjoyed our meal & loved the wait staff. The vibe was really lovely with lots of plants.

In town and staying downtown, we were looking for a lively bar with great food and drinks before catching an Avalanche game, and A5 absolutely delivered. We came during happy hour (3:30-5:30 pm) and grabbed seats at the bar, which was buzzing in the best way. The drink deals alone are worth it: $10 Negronis, martinis, margaritas, and daiquiris (regularly $18+). Solid pours, well balanced, no shortcuts. We ordered the chef's choice oysters, fresh and perfectly chilled. Simple, clean, and done right. We also tried the wagyu yakitori from the happy hour menu. Dinner service starts at 5 pm, and they do offer full sit down dining service if you prefer a table experience. Shoutout to Brittany, our bartender. Friendly, efficient, and kept the energy up even while the bar was packed. Fun ambiance, busy but not chaotic, and a great pre game vibe. Would absolutely come back, game night or not. Next time I'll opt for dinner service. A 20% automatic gratuity is added to the check, and no complaints here. The service was excellent.

No notes, the food was incredible and the service was even better. For appetisers, the oysters were amazing, the poutine was very unique, and the kimchi fried rice was delicious. The menu had unique items and Korean influence, so this is not your typical steakhouse. For dessert, the sesame tart was a 10/10 for me, I would come back just to get this! Joe was an amazing server and gave us great recommendations!

What a great spot omgoodness. Brent was an awesome server and Dolce had us laughing and enhanced the meal every step of the way. Thank you both!!! Finally had the chance to go and we were not disappointed. . The pork belly appetizer was delicious. The squash and Sea Bass were perfect in every way and so flavorful. I have never had a Tomahawk Steak and there was so much flavor to it. Perfectly cooked and so tender. Yummmmmm This is a restaurant I look forward to our return. There were so many other things we must try!!! #delicious, @a5steakhouse, #A5steakhouse, #BlackbirdFLY

This places fills up quick so get a reservation in place. We went here on a Thursday night and its a cozy restaurant with a second floor. We ordered several dishes with anticipation to take some home and finish off our entrees. The house salad with the poutine as our starters. House salad had a good mix of crunch with the dressing and I would highly recommend the poutine. Crispy fries, tender pot roast, and very flavorful curry that has a kick with the red pepper...too good. For the sides, we got cabbage and the mac n cheese and both were good. For my main entree, Picanha steak with chimichurri sauce. The cut was to order and was delicious/tender. Overall...would definitely recommend anyone going here for a nice evening dinner.

Was visiting Denver as a party of 6 and decided to make reservations here for our brother in law's 50th birthday at 6:30 pm on a Monday. This was a recommended place online so that's how we chose this place and boy were we glad we did. Place was casual which was great because we hate dressing up. Atmosphere was great and my 11 year old niece said this place was a vibe. Iforgot to take a picture of the seafood tower. We ordered the small one which was perfect because only half of our table could eat seafood. It came with oysters, lobster, shrimp cocktail and ceviche. This is a steakhouse so we all had to order a steak. I loved that they sliced them and cooked them so deliciously. The sides were amazing we cleaned up all the plates. Cocktails were all good. Thanks for the great attention to our brother in law for his bday and our family. Service was top notch.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal I had at A5! My friend and I have been bopping around steakhouses in Denver, finally getting around to trying this one in LoDo. We were seated upstairs (the hallway is kinda narrow and wall lights are bright) overlooking the main floor of the restaurant. It felt so fancy! I had the Denver Steak (medium rare) with a Dirty Martini. We started with Oysters Motoyaki and Mac & Cheese Croquettes. The tomato jam for the croquettes is to die for. Everything we got was phenomenal, including the sherbet. Would definitely prioritize coming here again, even if it's just for their Happy Hour!

Great experience! Bartenders were all great & explained options for HH being our first time in. Food was top tier & very tasty ! Also , made a note on what we want to try next time in . Aesthetics were not the usual steak house options but it very pleasant . Lots of plants & a more casual vibe !

This was definitely a splurge of a dinner when I came here with a group of friends for a celebratory dinner. Upon arrival we were directed to the bar to grab a drink as our large party table wasn't just quite ready. No issues for us since we instead asked if we could enjoy oysters alongside our cocktails. That was going to be part of our meal anyways so why not make the most of it? Once we were directed to our table near the large windows, that's when the dining experience began. From Japanese milk buns to bone marrow topped steak, it was flavorful but expect to spend a pretty penny if you want to explore the menu. I enjoyed their wine selection and they had something for any price range of preference. It's a cute environment and the staff was super friendly. I have to say they also had a heavy pour on the drinks so that was a plus.

    Morgan A.

Loved the appetizers we got - yakitori was amazing, mac and cheese croquettes were a surprising fave & the hamachi was kick ass. The split lobster was awesome as expected. The caesar salad was not what we were expecting, it was pretty funky. If you're looking for a classic caesar flavor skip this. The wait staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. Tried the tartare sando as well and it was pretty awesome.

This restaurant is incredible and I cannot wait to come back! We ordered cocktails, oysters, lobster tail, two of the steak options, broccolini and bok choy, Mac and cheese croquettes, and the kimchi fried rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and our server made fabulous recommendations. The restaurant itself is very cute and I'd love to come back to sit at the bar.

Spontaneously came to this spot on a wimp and was able to find bar seating despite not having a reservation. Looks like it gets real busy between maybe 5-8pm on the weekend. Its a nice little rustic intimate steakhouse. Do emphasize that by no means, intimate. Because the restaurant is small. The noise level was practically a concert. The food was well made with good portion to split between 2 people. My only complains that the food took forever to get to us. Everyone left by the time we got our foods. The steak has a nice very very salty crust on the outside. I had to take a sip of water after every bites. But it paired nicely with the unseasoned whipped potatoes. I am not sure what sauce was on the steamed asparagus that they did not list on the ingredients menu. But the asparagus was slimy. Without the topping it was like eating wet slimy bland asparagus. The food was filling, but not tasty as I would like for that price point.

    Negroni and Dirty (vodka) Martini
    Noah K.

Pulled up on a whim on a Friday and was stoked to get sat immediately for two. Very upbeat vibe and no snobby steakhouse energy. Service was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The Negroni was decent but the martini was fire. Of course the steak was the star of the show. 12oz Delmonico was surprisingly affordable and was cooked perfectly. Great cut of meat and the chimichurri was a perfect add on. Based on this experience, I'm excited to come Back and try more of the menu. Proper steakhouse experience approved.

The ambiance was indeed attractively designed, bright and open, not too loud even though we sat ourselves near the kitchen. We ordered from menus with our smart phones, and our drinks and food arrived promptly. I ordered the Shakshuka, a northern African dish of stewed tomatoes with feta cheese and spices served with warm crusty garlic bread. A perfectly poached egg was nestled on top, and the dish was accompanied by a side salad of baby lettuces dressed very sparingly in oil and vinegar. Now, ordinarily, for me more is more when it comes to condiments. But the way the salad was dressed allowed the flavors of the lettuces to come through, and its blend of tart and slightly bitter was the perfect foil to the shakshuka, which was hearty, delicious, and spicy indeed! The stew was a generous portion that could be easily shared if you ordered an extra side of garlic bread, which I did. I was lucky to be able to request it from an employee who came around to ask how our meal was. The overall experience was memorable in the best way. I'm already craving the Shakshuka!

Not the icky too sweet, too sour that I taste in others. The hummus also tasted very freshly made and was good, but they did not put anywhere near enough on the board. The ratio was so bad, it was like 1/4 cup of hummus and 8 triangles of pita, not to mention if you were to dip anything other than the pita in the hummus. It really needed like 3 to 4 times the amount of hummus I got. Then, they're weren't any vegetables to dip other than pickled beets. Something like carrots, celery, radish, cucumber, tomato... anything! The olives are a nice side bite, I love olives, but you need more veggies. The price for that was way overpriced and that was their "happy hour" deal, too. Ok, come on now! They also have some cocktails and wine for $5 - 6 for HH so, that is a good deal -- daily 3-5pm. The patio outside is pretty large. But, ps you not supposed to leave with your drink whether inside or outside. Terminal bar you can wander more on the inside.

Good customer service as (solo?) staff member juggled a few in-person diners and takeaway orders. Not crowded on a Monday evening, so no waiting... but I made it in time for the last call for the soup of the day. Feel both dehydrated and not overly hungry, the Sherpa vegetarian was a great rec: roasted eggplant, asiago, sweet roasted red peppers, tomato, romaine lettuce, and garlic mayo. The sandwich master behind the counter happily subbed the lighter whole wheat slices for the French baguette. I enjoyed the playlist and the table top maps allowed me to remember a 2019 trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

However, we ended up showing up an hour before our reservation hoping to just get seated and we got in right away. Cassey was our incredible waiter and he made the night very memorable. After learning it was our first time there, he very patiently walked us through the menu and how the restaurant generally worked with serving sizes. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambience was great and cozy. We sat on the patio and it was mildly windy but it still felt nice being kept away in a corner of downtown. Starting with the appetizers, you HAVE TO get the burrata with some bread. It's the perfect flavor combination with the texture of the bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. The salad was also a really great refreshing balance with the heavier burrata and bread. It's such a simple salad with the most amazing flavors of pickled shallots, buttermilk dressing, and Parmesan. They truly have some of the best cheeses ever. For the mains, I got the lobster tagliatelle and my partner got the lamb rigatoni. We also got smashed potatoes to share with cheese. Everything was impeccable. I was hesitant to get the lobster dish because it's such a low chance that a lobster dish is actually going to taste as good because it's a very difficult dish to perfect but I can confidently say it's probably one of the best ones I've had. The tomato base sauce with celery and chile with the lobster is the perfect combination. I do have to say a DISCLAIMER if you're not good with spicy food it's not for you. It has a pretty strong kick throughout the eating process so do not get it if you can't handle spice. Other than that, it's one of the most flavorful seafood pasta dishes I've ever had. I tried my partners lamb rigatoni and they truly perfected the rendering of it in the sauce and it's such a perfect overall dish with a good serving for rigatoni in general. If you're extra hungry, I would get the cheesy potatoes, they are perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and warm on the inside with the perfect amount of cheese and salt flakes. To close the night, we, of course, got the tiramisu which was very well made. Now, I have been to Paris and actually had it with the best cream on earth so it won't top that. However, it is a close second and probably the best I've had in America. I highly highly highly recommend you try it out. The service is impeccable and Cassey was the best company to have around to talk about celebrations, house of dragon, and having a good night. Thanks for making my birthday a great experience!

We started with the burrata based on Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. Super fresh tasting, and the focaccia paired with it perfectly. The sauce was deep and hearty and the pasta was exactly al dente. We split a strawberry guacamole sorbet and glad we did, it was larger than expected and absolutely delicious. Place has the feel of a modern restaurant, very sleek. My only complaint was that we were seated next to a room with a large group and it was hard to hear each other talk, but nothing to be done about that. There are a bunch of different places to check out inside, so everyone can grab exactly what they want and still sit together. It was super laid-back and chill, making it the perfect place to get out of the house for a calm morning. As it gets later into the day and through the weekends, I know it gets very busy, but there is plenty of random seating throughout the hall and even some outdoor spots if you prefer. Parking: Parking is going to be street parking. Make sure you read the signs, but it is usually free. Even when the market is busy, I usually don't have to walk more than a block to get inside.
