Yes they do have a great tasting waygu burger. The cocktails on Tao are great. I loved the old fashion. Happy Hour is a great deal for sure. Friendly staff and cool vibe atmosphere

What we liked: The steaks were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the Denver (first time eating that cut). I was weary that it would be tough but our server assured me that it was very tender. The mashed potatoes with chives were simple and perfect mashed potatoes imo. The fries we ordered as an appetizer were great. The béarnaise wasn't traditional but it was really enjoyable. What was just okay: The $20 cocktails we got were fine, nothing spectacular and they didn't stand out in any way. My martini wasn't cold enough. The cheapest glass of wine is $16, which is exorbitant. We ended up spending $38 on two glasses of wine. Yikes. The broccolini and mac and cheese croquettes were fine, but not noteworthy. What we didn't like: We went with reservations at 6pm on a Wednesday and the restaurant was about 1/2 full. We were seated at a table directly next to the partition for the restrooms. I could smell the generic bathroom cleaner. I asked if we could be moved over to another table, and our request was accommodated, but we shouldn't have been seated at the worst table in the first place. The bathroom table remained empty for the two hours that we were there. The automatic "service charge" is fine but it explicitly says "it is not a tip or gratuity" which to me sounds like they want you to tip on top of the service charge. We were confused by the wording and I left an additional $10 which in hindsight I shouldn't have. The price point is too high for the food/ambiance/service. I know everywhere in Denver is expensive now, but a $350 dinner for two is exorbitant. Speaking of price point- they didn't even have nice soap in the bathrooms, it was the "pink soap" that you find at rest stops and gas stations. It's all in the details. We won't be returning which is a shame because the steaks were great, but spending that much can't be justified.

I would give this a 4.5 if I could! Our food was good, but the steak wasn't the best steak I've had in Denver, especially for the price. We still enjoyed our meal & loved the wait staff. The vibe was really lovely with lots of plants.

In town and staying downtown, we were looking for a lively bar with great food and drinks before catching an Avalanche game, and A5 absolutely delivered. We came during happy hour (3:30-5:30 pm) and grabbed seats at the bar, which was buzzing in the best way. The drink deals alone are worth it: $10 Negronis, martinis, margaritas, and daiquiris (regularly $18+). Solid pours, well balanced, no shortcuts. We ordered the chef's choice oysters, fresh and perfectly chilled. Simple, clean, and done right. We also tried the wagyu yakitori from the happy hour menu. Dinner service starts at 5 pm, and they do offer full sit down dining service if you prefer a table experience. Shoutout to Brittany, our bartender. Friendly, efficient, and kept the energy up even while the bar was packed. Fun ambiance, busy but not chaotic, and a great pre game vibe. Would absolutely come back, game night or not. Next time I'll opt for dinner service. A 20% automatic gratuity is added to the check, and no complaints here. The service was excellent.

No notes, the food was incredible and the service was even better. For appetisers, the oysters were amazing, the poutine was very unique, and the kimchi fried rice was delicious. The menu had unique items and Korean influence, so this is not your typical steakhouse. For dessert, the sesame tart was a 10/10 for me, I would come back just to get this! Joe was an amazing server and gave us great recommendations!

This places fills up quick so get a reservation in place. We went here on a Thursday night and its a cozy restaurant with a second floor. We ordered several dishes with anticipation to take some home and finish off our entrees. The house salad with the poutine as our starters. House salad had a good mix of crunch with the dressing and I would highly recommend the poutine. Crispy fries, tender pot roast, and very flavorful curry that has a kick with the red pepper...too good. For the sides, we got cabbage and the mac n cheese and both were good. For my main entree, Picanha steak with chimichurri sauce. The cut was to order and was delicious/tender. Overall...would definitely recommend anyone going here for a nice evening dinner.

Was visiting Denver as a party of 6 and decided to make reservations here for our brother in law's 50th birthday at 6:30 pm on a Monday. This was a recommended place online so that's how we chose this place and boy were we glad we did. Place was casual which was great because we hate dressing up. Atmosphere was great and my 11 year old niece said this place was a vibe. Iforgot to take a picture of the seafood tower. We ordered the small one which was perfect because only half of our table could eat seafood. It came with oysters, lobster, shrimp cocktail and ceviche. This is a steakhouse so we all had to order a steak. I loved that they sliced them and cooked them so deliciously. The sides were amazing we cleaned up all the plates. Cocktails were all good. Thanks for the great attention to our brother in law for his bday and our family. Service was top notch.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal I had at A5! My friend and I have been bopping around steakhouses in Denver, finally getting around to trying this one in LoDo. We were seated upstairs (the hallway is kinda narrow and wall lights are bright) overlooking the main floor of the restaurant. It felt so fancy! I had the Denver Steak (medium rare) with a Dirty Martini. We started with Oysters Motoyaki and Mac & Cheese Croquettes. The tomato jam for the croquettes is to die for. Everything we got was phenomenal, including the sherbet. Would definitely prioritize coming here again, even if it's just for their Happy Hour!

This was definitely a splurge of a dinner when I came here with a group of friends for a celebratory dinner. Upon arrival we were directed to the bar to grab a drink as our large party table wasn't just quite ready. No issues for us since we instead asked if we could enjoy oysters alongside our cocktails. That was going to be part of our meal anyways so why not make the most of it? Once we were directed to our table near the large windows, that's when the dining experience began. From Japanese milk buns to bone marrow topped steak, it was flavorful but expect to spend a pretty penny if you want to explore the menu. I enjoyed their wine selection and they had something for any price range of preference. It's a cute environment and the staff was super friendly. I have to say they also had a heavy pour on the drinks so that was a plus.

What a great spot omgoodness. Brent was an awesome server and Dolce had us laughing and enhanced the meal every step of the way. Thank you both!!! Finally had the chance to go and we were not disappointed. . The pork belly appetizer was delicious. The squash and Sea Bass were perfect in every way and so flavorful. I have never had a Tomahawk Steak and there was so much flavor to it. Perfectly cooked and so tender. Yummmmmm This is a restaurant I look forward to our return. There were so many other things we must try!!! #delicious, @a5steakhouse, #A5steakhouse, #BlackbirdFLY

    Morgan A.

Loved the appetizers we got - yakitori was amazing, mac and cheese croquettes were a surprising fave & the hamachi was kick ass. The split lobster was awesome as expected. The caesar salad was not what we were expecting, it was pretty funky. If you're looking for a classic caesar flavor skip this. The wait staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. Tried the tartare sando as well and it was pretty awesome.

Spontaneously came to this spot on a wimp and was able to find bar seating despite not having a reservation. Looks like it gets real busy between maybe 5-8pm on the weekend. Its a nice little rustic intimate steakhouse. Do emphasize that by no means, intimate. Because the restaurant is small. The noise level was practically a concert. The food was well made with good portion to split between 2 people. My only complains that the food took forever to get to us. Everyone left by the time we got our foods. The steak has a nice very very salty crust on the outside. I had to take a sip of water after every bites. But it paired nicely with the unseasoned whipped potatoes. I am not sure what sauce was on the steamed asparagus that they did not list on the ingredients menu. But the asparagus was slimy. Without the topping it was like eating wet slimy bland asparagus. The food was filling, but not tasty as I would like for that price point.

Great experience! Bartenders were all great & explained options for HH being our first time in. Food was top tier & very tasty ! Also , made a note on what we want to try next time in . Aesthetics were not the usual steak house options but it very pleasant . Lots of plants & a more casual vibe !

We started with the focaccia (with the ricotta and honey on the side) and it was so tasty. My partner doesn't normally like ricotta, but loved this dish! Then, we had the melon salad (very refreshing). We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff brought out complimentary glasses of bubbly rosé, as well as their special dish, which were the stuffed squash blossoms. This was a really thoughtful touch! For mains, we ordered the tagliatelle with lobster (this dish had a tiny bit of spice, which was fine for us but might catch someone else off guard), and the lamb loin. Both were excellent. Overall, we had a great time! We found easy street parking nearby, as well. My only downside would be that, because this restaurant is so popular, there are lots of diners, which makes for a pretty loud atmosphere. However, this just speaks to how good everything is, so if you think about it, perhaps it's a good sign!

Pair that with a white wine and you got yourself a time. The 2 course offering for lunch is also phenomenal. I got the Insalata Mista (lettuce, shallot, reggiano) and it's a decent sized salad and very tasty. The Mafaldine (lamb ragu, pecorino romano) is to die for. As Texas transplants, we've enjoyed some incredible steakhouses over the years and have traveled extensively, but this was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. We even drove up from Colorado Springs for our 18th wedding anniversary, and it was worth every mile. We started with the wedge salad, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best wedge salads we've ever had. The warm bread service was incredible and paired perfectly with the house-made spreads. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. The highlight of the evening was the Wagyu steak topped with cheesy potato croquettes. It was cooked to perfection and so tender it practically melted in your mouth. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor and was one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. What impressed us most was that every single item we ordered was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients, attention to detail, presentation, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. Our meal, service, and overall experience were outstanding from start to finish. If you're looking for a special dinner, anniversary celebration, or simply one of the best meals you'll have in Colorado, Jack's on Pearl is absolutely worth the visit. We ordered fried calamari, a medium-rare steak with fries and Brussels sprouts, four cocktails, and bottled still water. The service got off to a bad start. When our appetizer arrived, the waiter failed to notice that we had no utensils. After about five minutes of trying to get our waiter's attention, another server stopped by. In a joking way, I asked her to "try the calamari," hoping she'd realize we were missing utensils. Instead, she reached toward the food with her hand. I stopped her and pointed out that we didn't have any silverware. Her response was that calamari is "finger food" and should be eaten by hand. That's not the level of service I'd expect from an upscale restaurant charging premium prices. Things only got worse. Our waiter then refilled our glasses with tap water without asking, mixing it with the bottled water we had ordered. The steak, ordered medium-rare, arrived cooked closer to medium-well. The cocktails were also underwhelming--at $33 each, they were tiny, packed with ice, and felt more like a shot than a proper cocktail. Overall, STK is an overpriced, overhyped restaurant that doesn't deliver the quality or service its prices suggest. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, it wasn't enough to make up for the poor service, mishandled food and drinks, and disappointing meal. I won't be returning. Next day went to EDGE at 4 Seasons-amazing food and service.

I couldn't wait to write this review! I've been to Appaloosa before, but I've never really relished…read morein the experience. After leaving a concert downtown, hoping to wait out traffic and the ride-share pick up craze- my husband and I wanted to get a quick bite and a drink. There were not many places open past 11pm on a Sunday, let alone serving food. I also came to the unfortunate realization that many of the late night places I use to frequent downtown have closed permanently since quarantine. While walking, I spotted Appaloosa from the corner of my eye. Lo & behold, not only were they open, but the menu was posted on the door with their late night hours going until 1 am. Though I had been before, I was not sure what the hours were, or if the kitchen was open late. We walked in and were greeted by live music and a friendly host. No cover charge, just a quick peak at the I.D. We sat at the bar while the band played jazz that added to the ambiance. Our bartenders were attentive and gave great conversation. We were immediately given menus and asked what we would like to drink. Katelyn took our food order promptly, and she was also funny and charismatic. We ordered the birria tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. The consommé was flavorful and bright, and the birria itself was tender and juicy. The food was so fantastic we forgot about our drinks! Appaloosa was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend, and we will be coming back very soon!

Had a great burger here! Well cooked and tasty!…read more Was with a big party so hard to hear each other because of the Friday night band. I also did not like how far away the restroom was considering not just the distance, but also the stairs from the main dining room. But the service was good, and every one was very friendly. Good food.
