Complementary shuttle to get you to work if you're dropping off your car or they'll call Enterprise and have a rental car come to you. First time here. Recommended from Discount tires to come over here to get an alignment done. It was snowing this morning and I almost crashed my car because I was in desperate need of new tires. My old ones were practically bald. I used all the money I had to pay for the new tires so that I could pick up my son from school and drive home safe if it kept snowing. The cost of the alignment was way more then I expected on my end and the owner or manager told me he would do the work for me today and I just needed to pay him back next week. I can't get over the kindness that was shown to me. They also offered to me a ride to and from work while they fix my car (within 5 mile radius). I'm still shocked and thrown off by the generosity of the whole team. There are still good people out in this world and this place holds one of them. In the end I was able to find the money needed to pay day of, but just the thought of someone willing to take the chance and do that for me made my day. Thank you! read more

Have you ever been in a situation where you are worried about some part of your car, but are not sure whether there is a "real problem" that's significant enough to warrant taking it to a shop and run the risk of getting a duped into a massive bill. I have been in those situations a few times and have burned myself with unnecessary repairs and cost. But that hasn't happened to me since I started going to AA Auto Service in Redmond. Just today I took my car to them for getting my brakes inspected, as I observed some minor brake pulsation. I wasn't sure whether this warranted a trip to the shop, but given that these are the brakes, I erred on the side of caution. Mike at AA Auto Service gave me a honest opinion on the condition of the brakes and told me that there wasn't a major issue (in the brake rotor and pads) and that I can easily get another year out of them. His honest feedback saved me potentially hundreds of dollars, because I am sure there are shops who would have been happy to take my money and replaced the brakes. Mike did not charge a dime for the whole effort! In fact, for whatever reason my brakes seem more sturdy and effective since I got the car back, no kidding! This is the second time that Mike has saved me from unnecessary repairs. Mike and all the folks at AA Auto Service, I appreciate your work ethic. I've been bringing my car by AA Auto throughout the year for whatever I need and they've always been friendly and honest. I know when I ask what my car needs, they explain what and why in a way a non-car person like me can understand. I brought my car in for an overall inspection -- I knew the brakes needed some fixing, but I wanted to make sure there weren't other issues I should get fixed also. The inspection was about $90 -- that's fine. But the overall notes and final assessment & quote they gave me lacked details and clarity. The customer service was sub-par. After getting a second opinion, it turns out that the struts did NOT need replacing (~$1,300), as they so helpfully suggested. I found their estimates were severely overpriced after I did some research. I really wanted to have a good experience because it would have been ridiculously convenient to use them as my mechanic. But after they suggested that I get work done that wasn't necessary, and being way too expensive, there's no way I trust them. read more

I went to AA Auto Service Center on 3/23/21 to get a brake light fixed. Tim greeted me with a smile (as usual) and had a technician start on my car right away. They had COVID precautions in place and put a plastic cover on my car seat as well. 20 minutes later the technician was complete and when I went back inside to pay, Tim said I owed him NOTHING! While I know this was a minor fix, car repair shops are not known for their generosity so it was a very pleasant surprise. I have been going to AA Auto Service for the past 4 years now and I would l highly recommend them for their very friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices (unlike dealerships!) and people who really care about doing the right thing! read more

$500. That's how much money I wasted trying to get other mechanics to properly diagnose a problem I had with my truck. My horn used to randomly honk when I was driving on the freeway, which sounds funny, but is actually quite lame when it's your car. Anyway, I tried the ford dealership in Bellevue. They charged me $100 to tell me I needed a new alarm (for $500)... wrong. Next I tried a few more local places (repeatedly). The local places were friendlier, but I got vacant stares and wild guesses. Imagine my surprise when I finally got to AA and they guy behind the counter told me exactly what the problem was and how cheap it would be to fix. I was delighted. He wasn't even a mechanic and he diagnosed my problem immediately. Plus the warrantied the work and vacuumed my truck too. Oil changes are cheap as well. Try them out if you need an honest independent mechanic. read more

Took my little pickup to AA Auto Service after coming back from vacation to have a truck that wouldn't shift out of first gear. Dropped it off early in the morning with very friendly and overall great service. After being told the testing was going to cost $130 and than waiting 4 hours for it I get a call saying it's going to be around $1000 to fix a radiator, 2 belts, and a thermostat. After I called a few other places and was told the estimate was incredibly high I decided to come back and take it somewhere else. Upon arriving I was ignored and given glares before I had even said I didn't want it serviced. After I tell them I just wanted to pay the testing fees and take it home I was told it would be at least 30 minutes to get it ready to go, this would have been fine if the attendants attitude wasn't condescending. After sitting down and waiting about 5 minutes a mechanic walked through the door and said "trucks ready to go!" the attendant at front continues taking to another mechanic and than proceeds to make a sales calls and a few personal calls. As of writing this it has been 30 minutes since my truck was ready and I am still waiting for him to give me paperwork and charge me. When I dropped my truck off I was excited because of the positive reviews and friendly attitude but the moment when I didn't fall into the sale persons sales pitch I was treated horribly and will be steering anyone I know away from this place. read more

BUYER BEWARE assumptions instead of diagnosis' and INSANE prices for work that is free elsewhere. When a customer is paying a mechanic for an accurate inspection and diagnosis of what is wrong with their car and they end up shelling out $170 for this information, they should at least be assured that the information they are paying triple digits for is in fact accurate. Not only was I dismayed to find out the diagnosis given to me by the owner Mike was completely inaccurate and not at all representative of the work that needed to be done to fix the car. The place that I did end up taking my car to in Redmond took it apart, accurately diagnosed the issue, did several hours of research, phone calls, and emails for different options of fixing the car all before calling me back and telling me that I could come pick up my car from them free of charge even thought they had already done about ten times the amount of work and effort that AA auto had charged me $170 for. This place is untrustworthy and they are out to take your money, if you still want to support small locally owned and reputable mechanics I would take my business to Dorel's Auto in Kirkland. read more

I'm super suspicious of repair shops and try to do as much work as I can myself. I was in a crunch this time so looked on yelp. Upon calling AA, everyone was friendly (not an automated phone) and were able to fit me in the next day, even offering their shuttle service. Dropped off my Tahoe, not long after Michael calls to let me know whats wrong and the options. We agree on a go forward and he calls me to update me along the way to confirm we we on track with the repairs and whether I would have my rig back the same day. Sure enough it was as agreed. Michael did give me a discount and I had a yelp coupon too. they were gracious about both and I was in-n-out in no time, same day and had a fixed rig. Usually can't ask for OR get more that. I paid more than I had budgeted but it was worth the peace of mind, I'll be going back there and recommending AA when it comes up. read more

Very nice people and the complimentary shuttle service and car wash make for a low stress experience. What I was most struck by is that I witnessed the perfect "honest mechanic" scene: A person came in with a common car problem that was very much "user error." AA diagnosed the problem and without blaming the customer, kindly explained how to correct the issue going forward, offered the person a free car wash and said there would be no charge for diagnosing the issue. My family and I come here for everything. It's a great group of guys with their pricing. They make good when everything goes according to plan or not... I've had major work done here and I'm loyal. Update 2/8/19: Mike, thank you for fixing our Jeep in 24 hours right before the second snowstorm hit! During the first storm earlier this week we discovered our 1999 Jeep four-wheel drive was not working -- by getting stuck. In the lull between the snowfalls were able to get it to AA yesterday and they repaired it in 24 hours (wow), replaced the front differential + axles, and released it to us literally as the snow started falling for this second storm that's going right now. Whew -- thank you! Original review: Mike and his team are consistently excellent communicators; we always know our estimates in advance before any work is done, what needs doing and why, and how long it will take. They always do quality work and stand behind their work. My wife and I discovered them three years ago (by recommendation from other local shops) and are delighted and wouldn't go anywhere else for our cars' maintenance and repairs (a Subaru and a Jeep). AA are mechanics we can trust and that do a consistently great job. Even when we have an unexpected/emergency repair need, they nearly always manage to work us in quickly and get us going, and keep us well informed. Even though we live a 30 min round trip from the AA shop they always drop me off / pick me up at home cheerfully and promptly, no sweat. Thanks Mike and colleagues! read more

I had my first appointment with this shop yesterday. I was there because my car's AC stopped working. My car is a little older and I am looking for a repair shop that isn't the dealership. Overall I had a good experience. They were friendly and courteous. The shuttle service was great. They kept me informed on progress in a timely manner. As for the repair, it turned out the compressor was shot, but they were able to replace it with original manufacturer's parts and get it back to me the same day. I didn't give it 5 stars mostly because this was my first time with them. As I get more experience with them I'm sure I can do another review with more stars. :) read more

The short version, this an extremely honest company. Now, the longer one. My minivan (the swagger wagon) had a check engine on it for quite sometime. I took to Mike to have a look at it. Later that afternoon he called me to let me know that it was a significant issue with the cylinder head. He could fix it, but it would most likely be a very hefty bill. Not a good thing when you have three kids. Mike and his team had done their research before calling me and let me know that even though the family wagon wasn't still under warranty, that there had been a safety bulletin put out about it. I called Volkswagen and it turns out that my warranty had been extended and the repair would be at no cost to me. Great news. Mike and the folks at AA could have done the easy thing and just let me pay for it, but they instead did the right thing and lost out on a sale. I guess the joke is on them because now I go to them for EVERYTHING and I tend to buy really crappy cars! read more

I had the good old non-specific "Check Engine" light problem on my 1995 Dodge Neon a few weeks back and I took it into AA Auto Service. They give a Microsoft Prime discount (in case that helps out any fellow MS emloyees) but I still recommend them even without it. I only give them 4 stars instead of 5 because the diagnostic was fairly expensive (about $80) but once the diagnostic was done, the mechanic took the time to explain in detail why the light was on, and he didn't bulls**t me, he flat out told me that there was no repair or part needed. Most mechanics will make something up so that they can sell you $500 worth of parts and labor. I had a lot of respect for the guy for dealing with me honestly. Also, he told me that if the Check Engine light came on again any time in the near future to bring the car in and he would do a diagnostic for free. Oh, and as an added bonus, I now understand the inner workings of my car's idle air control valve circuit, adaptive memory settings, and mix ratios. I will definitely go back to these guys in the future. read more

Mike and his team took care of fixing the brakes​ on my Escalade after they had worn out and were failing greatly during the snowstorm. The were able to find the right parts, fixed them and washed my car within the day and at a much better rate than I expected. I brought my 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe into the shop because one of my spark plugs was misfiring. They charged $85 for the diagnosis and an additional $300 for the repair (one of my coils was cracked and sending electricity to somewhere else instead of the spark plugs), which included the replacement of two spark plug wires. Service was completed the same day, and they even brought me to the Redmond Transit Center in their courtesy shuttle so I could bus to work. The car runs like brand new again and I owe it to these guys. Thank you! read more

Each experience here has exceeded my expectations for a service center. Previously I always went to dealerships for service, but when my car needed more major service I actually looked around and compared - AA Auto Service came in a few hundred dollars less than the dealership, and ended up being so much more friendly, educating, and customer-focused. After my repair they showed my old component and how damaged it was - super cool. I cannot recommend this team enough. They even go out of their way to do things like wash your car - the last time I went to a dealership for service they wouldn't even give a coupon for a car wash unless I spent more. They are absolutely my go-to for all car questions and service. read more

Mike and his team at AA are awesome! We have lived in Redmond for years and drove by many times before thinking about trying them out. We have three kids that drive, and 5 very different cars. Late model Ford Bronco, 2011 Ford F150, a Jeep Wrangler and a couple of sedans. They service every single one of our cars and always do a great job. And they really care about the work and always have a pleasant attitude. They actually get the work done quickly, most of the time ahead of schedule. Most importantly, the work is done right, and it is reasonably priced. If you have an old model car, Scott is great with the classics. I know enough about cars to be dangerous, but I know that you can trust Mike and his team. Delaney, at the front desk, is always on top of the phones and makes things happen. I was told when I picked up the car that you, Mike, charged me $300 for diagnostics. I came in explaining to you it was a belt. That sure gave you a BIG CLUE. I appreciate your breakdown of the bill NOW. Perhaps I didn't keep your estimate. It seems to be not only Redmond but the entire area is high income and MOST SERVICES overcharge because the techies make big incomes and can pay it. YOU are not singled out. Since I have a 2005 car you should have provided some options when the repair is half the Blue Book value. read more

I've never been to this shop, but I just had a great experience with them... I live about an hour from Redmond. June 2015 I was thinking about buying a used car up there. The owner agreed to take it to AA for a pre-buy inspection, which I was happy to pay for. The inspection revealed a bunch of nit-picky problems I'd expect in a used vehicle. It also uncovered at least one major issue unknown to both the car owner and myself. Cliff, the AA manager, sent me an EM about it; I called him and he explained everything. Nothing earth-shattering but something I just couldn't afford to deal with right now. Based on this I told the car owner (who fortunately was a really nice guy) I couldn't afford to both buy the car and do the suggested repairs. Cliff was very timely and thorough setting up the appointment, doing the work, explaining to me what was wrong. I was completely pleased with his services; he saved me from getting in over my head. I recommend AA Auto without reservation. read more

These guys are friendly and put me at ease. (I do not appreciate how some of the mechanics/dealerships/CNN describe things in such a fear-evoking way...) I do take my car in for a regular oil change or other basic maintenance services, but I'm not a car person at all. (Pretty lame, I know...) I don't know much about the innards of a car. I just knew my '99 RAV4 was driving funny and in need of some TLC. I took my car into AA Auto Service Center for a check-up. They found some problems, gave me a list of things that should be replaced along with the estimate on time/cost, and arranged a rental car (no charge to me except for the gas). I had been having some trouble starting my 4 year old car for the previous week. I wasn't sure if it was just the battery or the alternator was going out. I called two other shops who weren't able to get me in until later in the week. I called Mike at AA Auto Service Center and he told me to bring it right over so they could take a look. They squeezed me in and luckily it was just the battery. (Thank you for not pulling a fast one on an unsuspecting female) Then he even informed me about a Microsoft Prime discount they had and saved me 10%! I was back on the road in under an hour. If it had been longer, they even offered me a shuttle ride home. What great service and super nice and friendly office staff! The waiting room is clean and comfortable too. I use these guys exclusively for my '03 Eurovan and have always been very pleased with the work they do and the customer service they offer. It is easy to schedule an appointment, they call you to check in if they find something extra that they recommend doing. The van is always ready when they say it will be. The guys at this shop are amazing. They are fast, friendly and hyper aware of their customers needs. A few months back my 06 Escape Hybrid threw the error code, Service Power Steering Now. They diagnosed the issue, and would have had it fixed the same day but they didn't have the part and it needed to be shipped over night from Portland. Fast forward to today, same car, new issue. The one wrinkle I couldn't be without a car. I mentioned needing a rental while they had my car. Scott said no problem and contacted Enterprise Rental car. They picked me up at the shop and set me up with a truck so I could run my errands. The crew at AA Automotive Repair are fantastic at what they do.
