Bees appeared near front porch on 15 MAY 2024. Within a couple days, clearly out of control and called AA. They came the next day, diagnosed the problem, came up with solution to access the hive within the front porch column (hollow under stacked stone and "hardy board" with hole behind our mailbox. Vacuumed the queen and drones into transport container. Sealed up the mailbox entry and former bee entry. Took a couple hours - huge hive. Very professional and courteous guys. If I could give 6 stars, I would. I called because I'd found multiple bees in my living room and kitchen and Rene came out that same day. He inspected the area with a thermal camera as well as a telescoping camera inside the wall and was able to verify that the bees were just scouts and not part of a larger hive inside the walls or attic. He then sealed up the air gaps and open spaces in the exterior wall that bees could get through to ensure we wouldn't have a problem in the future. A recent heatwave (in November????) brought some unexpected guests to my backyard...bees. The colony decided that my composter would be a good place to settle. My wife and I wanted to be more eco-friendly and try live removal. I did try posting Request Quote through Yelp and got various responses but most were exterminators. After researching more on Yelp and a bee society blog we called AA-Beekeeper. The gentleman who called back was very thorough in giving me feedback on my situation and his quote was exactly the same as an exterminator so I set up an appointment for the following Monday. The technician assigned to me was a very pleasant fellow named Rene. He called ahead letting me know his ETA and arrived in the designated timeframe.
