I had a wasp set up house in my garage over the weekend. The ceiling is 10 feet high and I didn't feel comfortable getting up on a ladder that high, especially since I figured the wasp might show up and sting me in the face. Make sure you carve out a few hours for the initial visit as he will also explain in detail what he's treating, how he's treating it, and what you can do in between his scheduled visits to assure your property remains pest free. Steve has been handling our pest control since 2003 and we would never change! He always calls the day before he visits to alert us of the appointment and to make sure our dog is inside. Ants?? Well, they're a thing of the past. His knowledge of various species of insects and vegetation is amazing. I just want to give an honest review from our experience. I spoke to Steve and he seemed all over the place with his thoughts and conversation, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt based off all the 5-star reviews. On the phone, he did not come off across as professional. He even rushed me off the phone at one point saying he was really busy. We scheduled him to come out anyways (again based on the reviews). He came off mentally disorganized/distracted and overly talkative (we had to ask him to please start the actual work). We paid him the $75 fee but it was a complete waste. The tools that were used were ones that any average joe could buy from a dollar store. Some of the traps were old and reused with stale peanut butter still existing on the trigger. We did not feel comfortable having him return so we'll need to hire another company. read more

We have had Steve controlling our pests since a major ant infestation about 3 years ago. We had many frustrating days of ants finding some little grain of food and inviting the neighborhood. We had bait traps and sprayed but never solved the problem. We were also concerned with the poison being in the house. In comes Steve and all of these problems have disappeared. Gone are the days when we wake up and find 1,000 ants in the kitchen. We have also seen a big drop in spiders too. Steve always calls the day before to let us know that he will be coming. We switched to Assurance about 15 years ago. Before switching, we had another "pest control" service that did not effectively control pests and was unresponsive. We live in Del Mar Mesa, surrounded by lots of wildlife. Assurance has controlled all pests; rats, gophers, flies and crawly creatures. He gets rid of them fast. Very importantly, Steve is extremely responsive. If something gets to our property, he is there promptly after getting a call from (not a week later, like other services). He is extremely reliable; comes when expected and calls the day before. I obviously highly recommend him; I don't think you can do better. read more
