Called over weekend as I'm repeat customer and answering service said that they would send someone over on Monday if I didn't want to pay the rush fee for Sat/Sun. With this in mind I ended up taking that Monday off as I travel extensively for work. Called office and older female manager was abhorrent. First stating their answering service doesn't make appointments. When I rebutted how is this the customers problem if right hand is not talking to the left hand, she yelled stating she left voicemail (never received on my end or why would I still use vacation day for nothing?) and then said I had it to here with "you people", to "go to hell" and that, "you're right I'm having a bad day". She essentially implied that this isn't the first run-in a customer had with the separated silos approach aforementioned company operates on.... I'm really quite busy and thus wouldn't be spending my time in conveying this ordeal if i doesn't feel it was importance to share. I am taking the time to make Yelp Community privy to such antics as I would hate for another potential -and/or repeat customer for that matter- to go through the experience in which I just dealt with. read more

Horribly over priced. Charged $1,580 to remove a light from a ceiling tile and install a new ceiling tile. Less than one hour. Had a surcharge of $285 for the use of the ladder and $250 charge for cutting a 6" hole in the ceiling tile. If not working on a budget, they may fit the bill, but if you are wanting a fair price, go elsewhere. read more

UPDATE: FYI- I found 3 other very reputable companies willing to go out and look at the electrical panel and give a quote to get it updated for the cost of a service charge. And if they get the work done using the company they will credit that money toward the cost. Not one of them acted like what I was asking was abnormal or not worth their time. I called this place because I am a Realtor and I have buyers who wanted an additional inspection of the Breaker. After I told the lady on the phone we just needed a quote to replace the breaker to show to the sellers and that my buyers would be getting the job done at a later date, the incredibly unfriendly lady I was speaking with, became even less friendly and the $59 service charge went up to $400. I was in disbelief. It seemed like she randomly came up with that number off the top of her head and when I asked her why she said "well it should take at least an hour of his time to check it. So that is worth $400? The home inspection is $475 and the inspector is there for 4 hours! They probably would use that company to get it changed, just not this week. She was soooooo rude. Normally like working with independent businesses - but these guys are plain and simple running a playbook to gouge you. 1. They tell you $59 to diagnose 2. Onsite, they do zero diagnosis, and tell you the cost to "Figure it out" - this was $320 (e.g., Should imply 2 hours of labor or so, at minimum). For fun, they slap on another fee: "Truck Field Stock Charge\.Wire nut , screws , Noalox anti corrosive,etc." - $30 for consumables he didn't use on site. 3. Finally, Ed is the king of babbling electrical terms and safety risk - even when there is no safety issue, or if there is one, he knows it only takes 5 min to inspect (and prove there's no safety issue). Bottom line - never felt any trust, paid him $400 to reset a breaker (and if you listen to him, also to check that all the connections were tight). And he was out in 1:20 min, which included about 60 min of talk, and 20 min of labor. Cheers! read more

its amazing how a lot of people are complaining about prices. Are their prices high? yes. But I am a firm believer in the saying "you get what you pay for", and what I got was AAA service. My electricity wasn't working in half of the house, and my family and I tried to switch the breakers to no avail. So we called AAA electrical services and Ed was able to diagnose what was going on as well as fix it on the spot. Since he fixed it, i have had no issues at all. So to all those complaining about prices... How did your cheap fix work out for you? im sure you had to call for service again in like 3 months. Complete bait and switch. Was told one price to come out only to be billed hundreds more. Was told $69 to come out and then after a 20 min visit of moving one wire I was told it was $425 for the job. Not how much before hand. When I called the main office to complain I was called nearly every name in the book for saying I was not told before hand what it would cost. I have never written a negative review before, but this company is definitely taking advantage of people with a bait and switch service fee of $69! When they get to the job site, after you have paid the $69, they say they cannot do the diagnostic without agreeing to an additional charge. In this case there were three lights that were not working in the kitchen. My client had replaced the bulbs, and the lights still weren't working, so we called the electrician. He made my client agree to $391 before even looking at the problem. Then told us that there was electricity to the lights and the only way to fix it was to replace the cans. I happened to have light bulbs in my car and asked him to try them and they worked! The bulbs my client had used were LED and did not work in these outlets. They still charged him the $391 for changing out 3 light bulbs and wouldn't give a refund or even give us the $50 discount they have on the web site.... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Incompetent, dishonest: AAA Electrical Services came out in December, 2021 to fix two outdoor GFI's that kept popping off. The arrogant youngster immediately told us we had a bad subpanel which would have to be replaced. When I balked because it would require a new cut-out in the exterior wall, he suggested that I could either have a troubleshoot to include the main panel, the subpanel and the GFI's for about $1000, or he could just replace the two breakers. I opted for the latter -- cost $453.29. A couple days later the GFI's failed again, so we called the owner, Edward Juarez, who stood by his diagnosis and suggested an even more extensive series of replacements, and told me the GFI's will always fail until I replaced the subpanel. The next electrician we had out quickly determined that the main panel had a bad breaker that fed the subpanel. He replaced it, but we still couldn't get one of the GFI's to function. He took that one apart and found that it had been mis-wired, with the line and load reversed. He wired it correctly and everything has been fine now for over three months. That electrician charged me $100 plus the cost of the breaker. I have advised Mr. Juarez of every step since his crew left, and have heard nothing since his recommendation that I do the overhaul. So, incompetent, dishonest, AND unwilling to correct his mistakes. Find a better guy, they are everywhere. Stay away from AAA ELECTRICAL SERVICES! read more

Do not use them!! The quote was to replace a light fixture and all he did was replace the lightbulbs and he did not alter the bill to reflect the significant reduction in work. He also left his dirty foot coverings on my hairbrush on my master vanity that I found to be disgusting since he had been in the attic with insulation and whatever else. I would never use them again. I feel like they way overcharged. I didn't tell Ed this but I have incurable cancer and do weekly chemo for the rest of my life and I just lost 6 family members including my 19 year old nephew who was the UC Berkeley student murdered last June. 2/25/2022 Smoke alarms started to all go off despite my changing all the batteries regularly. Tung and Ken arrived quickly and came out and changed all 5 smoke alarms since they couldn't tell which one went bad. So thankful for their quick response I have no issues with the technicians...very professional and kind. However I'm questioning the markup on replacing 5 smoke detectors that sell for at most $20.00each but was charged $336.68each. Hopefully they will respond unbelievable markup on the parts. 2/28/2022 received a call from the owner, who was rude and admitted he includes the labor charges into the parts cost. Admitted he pays $69.00/ea when he purchases from First Alarm, but still charge a customer $336.68/ea part and includes labor per part for a job done in less than an hour is crazy. I am thankful for his $500.00 refund on the $1775. invoice for replacing 5 smoke detectors. Why not be honest on the labor charge and the parts charge? Again, no issues with the technicians but the cost should be straight forward to the consumer! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. First off they went a $59 dispatch fee that they say covers time and fuel. Then if you go through with the work you see a separate charge for $22.75 that says fuel and misc truck stock. So right off the bat you are being lied to. I asked for a quote on installing a new ring doorbell. Already had power and a transformer. I had the technician Ed come out to my home and he quoted me over $1300!! At first I thought this was a joke. Then realized he was being serious. When I told him no thank you he became rude and condescending. I wish I would have read these other yelp reviews as they seem to fix my experience as well. Not sure how this company is in business, but I would imagine they have 0 repeat business. Requested service for a ceiling fan hanging from a 12 ft ceiling. We knew the remote was not issue, nor the switch/light mechanism(not used). Service was incompetent, ridiculously expensive, and the rep was extremely out of shape and we feared for his health and safety as he tried to reach the relay system. He wanted to charge us over $1000 to come back with the relay($45 part). He sent us a grossly inaccurate bill and said he would correct it and send another. We ended up paying $333 for no assistance. (The corrected paperwork took over one week.) Needless to say, we did not have him repair it. After speaking with a rep for the company who made the fan, all of their info was disputed. I sure wish I had checked YELP reviews before calling this company!!! What a rip off!!!!! Too bad you can't give zero stars! We had only partial power in the back 3 bedrooms of the house. Tried to fix it by resetting the breakers, but no luck there. I was afraid of some type of short circuit and wanted someone out to check it ASAP due to fire risk. Well, in that respect, AAA Electrical was great and able to get someone here that same afternoon. I had no response from another place where I left a message and no feedback from two others via the internet and I was pretty frustrated. I was told $59 for someone to come out, which was fine. Well, that's when it all went downhill. Ken, who was nice, came out and told me of the 3 different levels of charges (from about $400 to $1200) that they charge for their work. You have to agree to the 3 tiers of charges for them to even start to look at anything. As they do work, you move from one tier to the next. I should have just paid the $59 and sent him on his way at that point. Well, hind sight and all that! About 20 minutes was wasted with him filling out forms and showing me the price ranges. I was very concerned about the fire hazard so I signed and had him start the work. He spent less than 1/2 hour checking the breaker box outside and said it was fine. Just that ate up the first tier charge of $403.21. So, at that point I had to agree to the second tier charge of $748.95 for him to continue on to find what was wrong. What a mistake! The next step was for him to check the house plugs for the short. He found it at the second plug he checked and replaced that plug. So, for about 2 hours of work and a new plug I have to pay $748.92. That's almost $375 per hour! I am also a firm believer in the saying "you get you pay for", but I feel like I paid to get ripped off. I should never have agreed to the initial pricing, but I was very concerned about the fire hazard and should have checked YELP for a better company before going with AAA Electrical. I even tried to talk to someone there at the office the next day to get the price down to the $403.21 amount, but no luck. When I complained that that worked out to almost $375 an hour, the response was "Well, we don't charge by the hour". Obviously! I'm on Social Security and it's going to take me months and months to pay off this $748.92 bill. Do NOT use this company...they are a rip off! First off, I was never informed when makimg the appointment for an estimate that a $59 fee was charged. I only found out when the truck arrived. I also do not care for the "scare" tactics that they employ to try to force you in making a descision. My electrical panel needed to be replaced, they quoted me a price os 5475.75 this included the permit fee of 405.00-the permit actually cost less than 200.00! My husband hired this company to figure out why the dryer wasn't working. The employee arrived. He was very professional. He quoted $250 to determine the problem and $257 to fix it, "approximately". When he arrived I "yelped" the co and saw all the comments about their outrageous rates! I told the man that he had been great but that I wasn't interested in working with him due to the cost...I think I said it was highway robbery. I still had to pay $59 bucks for the visit. What price gouging! I had three electrical timers I provided which I needed installed, and which should have taken about 10 minutes per timer. They came out and took 45 minutes inspecting my existing electrical panel, which I did not request, and then said that the total charge would be $850! We refused to pay that amount and told them to leave, however we were required to pay the $59 service charge which included the not needed panel inspection. If they had told us what they charged for installing the timers we would not have had them even come out and we would not have been out the $59 service charge. What a scam! read more

I called to get a fairly easy fix on a wire that was cut in my spa fuse box. I personally used a wing nut to fix the cut wire. The electrician who came out replaced 2 fuses in the box. I was charged $359.00 to replace fuses. I was not home at the time and my wife was dealing with the electrician. It's unacceptable to charge this amount for such an easy fix. I will not recommend this company. I will make sure to tell as many of my colleagues, friends and family not to use their services. Now I see all the terrible reviews about the absurb prices. I had a circuit breaker pop in the kitchen and would not reset, I called aaa elecrtical to help. The man came to the door and said you owe me $35.00 just for coming to the house. He said if it he started troubleshooting it would cost more. To make this quick He changed 2 breakers to fix the problem. It cost me a little over $700.00 I will never call them again and my hope is no one else will. If you do shame on you. AAA Electrical Services offers decent services and knowledgeable technicians but their prices are through the roof. The major plus is they stand behind their workmanship. Three years ago, our house needed electrical wiring fixed in the laundry room and we wound up paying $3,000. It's been working fine since then. I once called them on a Saturday night regarding an issue with our electrical sockets not working. AAA charges a $59.00 service fee but with additional surcharges it wound up setting my family back $260.00 for a Saturday service charge. read more

I would also give a zero star if I could and wish I had read these reviews before hiring them. What a rip. I trusted Kyle, big mistake. He was here several hours couldn't find my problem and decided to switch the black and white positions on the lead receptacle​ as according to Kyle that would switch the electric input on all of them and solve the problem. He then installed an​ ARC fault breaker which he said costs about $500 and by putting that in my circuit box I would not need to switch all my receptacles​ to GFIC receptacles​, saving me both time and money. This is not true, I found that very breaker for $30.00. A few days later I had a home inspector​ out who determined that even tho Kyle said the receptacles​ would now perform as GFIC receptacles​ they do not. While he was here he replaced a ceiling fan (I purchased from HD) and removed​ a ceiling fan and replaced it with a very small LED ceiling light (cost about $20 at HD). This bill was $1300+ Please do not trust these people. I called them the day the inspector was here and told them about the problem. Their first response was that if I was wrong and they did not trip due to some other problem I would have to pay another trip charge. Rather than coming out right away,​ they set an appointment into their regular schedule 4 days later. The day of the appointment they called at least 5 times to tell me Kyle was held up due to a problem he was finding difficult to fix. Sounded like the same deal he pulled at my house. He wouldn't be able to come any other day this week because he was booked and going on vacation the next week. So now I am scheduled for an appointment tomorrow between 8 and 10 with someone else. Kyle told me when he was here I was lucky to have him because everyone else there was green and probably couldn't fix my problem. I plan to find a federal agency that governs these electricians​ and file a complaint. I also plan to file a dispute with my CC company. There is almost no point in having them out now since I know what they did and what they should have done. To remedy​ this situation they will need to replace the breaker Kyle installed​ with a breaker that actually is a combined AFC and GFIC breaker. They do exist and are available for less than $100.00. I already had one in place but the motor had finally given out after 23 years. I could not believe the quote of $686.00 to just install the fan. I said thanks but no thanks. It's been 2 years since we used AAA Electrical Services to completely re-wire our home, install a 25 amp circuit breaker, repair some non-working outlets, add extra outlets in the garage and outdoor pool area, and add new smoke detectors as required by law for any major electrical work. Our electric garage door also need a small adjustment. AAA techs are extremely professional, timely, and worth the money. Total project cost $10,000. Yelper's are always looking for the best bargain, but don't always understand the true costs of operating a business, managing a fleet, warehouse, employees, ongoing training, state licensing, bonding, insured and especially one that prides itself on acquiring professional, patient technicians. Sure you can go to Home Depot and pay someone pennies on the dollar, but will they answer the phone if something goes awry?...... Can they be trusted in your home?... Do they EVEN HAVE A LICENSE TO PRACTICE?? Sounds like some dice i don't want to roll. I'm a DIYR but my AC/Furnace unit is off limits. 1st day of winter I go to turn on the Furnace and sure enough... nothing. I have a 10 year old Unit and the main board went out. I knew it, and I explored options for cost effectiveness. Ultimately; my furnace has a proprietary control board.... Long story short.... 1 phone call to AAA (on a Sunday) and Ed had it over night from Lennox and installed Monday afternoon. Took him about an hour! Now my wife and newborn son can put the extra blankets back in the closet. A superhero story if you ask me. All in all, he only charged me $100.00 above cost of parts to wire it up. I don't know if you've looked inside your Furnace but that control board is a spaghetti mess of wires, buses and High/Low Voltage terminals. 2 Months later - I started a garage remodel, and had some trouble with some 240v Wiring I moved around. So i made a call, Ed pulled over and took time out of HIS DAY to explain to me what I needed to do inside of my breaker panel to resolve my issue... He had me take meter readings and immediately diagnosed my error OVER THE PHONE FOR FREE ...Professionalism unparalleled read more

AAA Electrical is a bunch of crooks. We had an issue with some of our circuits popping, so we called AAA. We tried to find the popped breaker ourselves and reset all of them, but much to our chagrin, nothing came back on. They sent out one of their workers, Ken, out. The woman who answered our call and scheduled the appointment told us it would cost 59$ for them just to come out to not diagnose anything - just to say hello, I guess. Anyway, our serviceman was polite enough - friendly and talkative. He didn't do much and just GUESSED as to what our problem was. Me, not knowing anything about electrical matters was curious as to how he could really know, but soon it would be revealed that he didn't actually know or DO anything. Ken "guessed" that three of our appliances were on the same circuit and gave us three quotes: $250, $750, and $10,000. Quite the difference, I know. When asking what each of these estimates covered, we were told that the $250 only covers a replacement of a breaker (that he didn't even know if anything was wrong with it). The $750 covered the breaker box and for him to check in the outlets and power to the walls (not sure what that means). And 10,000 to create 3 separate breakers for my appliances and to add them to the breaker box. I asked what happens if I pay the $250 and that was not the problem. Ken responded that I would then have to pay the $750 on top of the $250 and the $59. So, we decided to go with the $750 option to cover our bases. So, Ken goes outside to the breaker box and moves something around and comes in to tell us, "OH, it's just a popped breaker." He did nothing else. He did NOT check the outlets or walls (though when we called back later, he claimed he did). So, to JUST reset the breaker (not fix, not replace), we had to pay $750. Long story short, about two weeks later, one outlet and our dishwasher stops working - due to what seems like a popped breaker. Once again, we went to the breaker box and couldn't find it, and even after resetting all of them, nothing happened. So, we called AAA back to let them know that we were dissatisfied with the service that we had received and that we were having issues again - but not all of the appliances were out - like one would think if they were indeed on all the same circuit. We told the lady on the phone that we would not be paying the 59$ fee again since they had not fixed the issue the first time. We also asked for a different electrician. The woman told us that she would send someone else OR that if she did send Ken, she would send another person with him. Guess what - she LIED. She sent Ken again SOLO. So not only are these people crooks, they are also completely DISHONEST. Anyway, Ken claimed that this was a different issue that had nothing to do with his first trip. We asked him a few questions to which the answers seemed vague and uncertain. He said the only thing we can do it fix the three circuits for the 10k and that we can finance it. He then told us he could replace the outlet where the one appliance was no longer working, but he also said that this might not fix the issue. AKA - these people have NO IDEA what they are doing. We sent Ken on his merry way, without using the service. We really hoped that by giving AAA the second chance to come out and make their wrong a right, they would have a satisfied and loyal customer Newsflash: they don't. About 10 minutes later, Ken came back to our home and knocked on the door, stating that he needed to collect the $59 fee that we had already told the office lady that we would not pay. After a few minutes on the phone with her, going back and forth, her claiming that it was a new issue and/or that their work is not what caused the second issue (she may be right there - it was their LACK of work that did not FIX the issue), we did not pay. My advice is do NOT use this company. They are money hungry, will rob you blind, and will NOT fix your stuff. Beware and be warned, AAA Electrical is a joke! read more

What a joke of a company. They would not give me a price over the phone to hang a chandelier so they said they needed to send someone out to give me a quote. Upon arrival, the technician quoted me $1300 to hang a chandelier!!!! Clearly way over priced, I told them I was going to find someone else to do the work. They charged me $60 for a dispatch fee. $60 to come and give me a price, which took the guy less than 5 min. I called Republic Electric to come do the job for $150. The guys at AAA are awesome, on time, good price. They show up when they're supposed to and are very customer service oriented.

We have used AAA multiple times over the last six years at our home and business. For me, professionalism, honesty, and exceptional work are three qualities I seek out. For me all three are incredibly important with electrical installations or repairs, especially for my 1950s house. For the last project in our house, they moved a light box to allow for the installation of a lighted mirror cabinet, which included moving some wiring to get it all to work. As is typical, their service and work was exceptional. (Richard is an especially wonderful technician who has worked at our home and office) read more
