I would never use this company. They charged me $550.00 to replace a single breaker. I had told the dispatch that my breaker was faulty and AAA charged a moderate diagnostic fee for a breaker that was labeled with the rooms that did not light up. This company is a joke!! I had them come out to install 2 ceiling fans when the guy who came out was very nice and very professional and a very nice well dressed guy. But when he gave me a quote i almost fell over laughing he wanted 1,750.00 to install 2 ceiling fans i thought it was April fools but realized it was may 11. I then told him no thank's this was ridiculous.think about this i had the fans already it takes about 1 hour or less to install each light he wanted over 850.00 an hour to install each light are you kidding me!! He did not seam to surprised at my response as we can see by the yelp responses this is an every day occurrence. on top of that he wanted 59.00 charge just to show up and give me a overpriced bid. I told him he is not anything from me!! i had not gave him any credit card so there was nothing he could do but leave. beware do not ever give anyone your credit card for them to give you a bid because they can just give you a crazy bid like me and they will take your 59.00 service fee it is a scam!! Absolute worst customer service!!!!!!! Stay far away form this company. I was trying to get an estimate to replace two sub panels that are fire hazards and was interrogated on the phone whether I would be hiring them to do the job on the spot and pay on the spot. I informed them I would review the quote and if it was reasonable we would have the work completed by them. Not good enough, I was told because I was a realtor I was using them to drop the price of the house. Incredible. . I called them to come out to determine why 2 plugs in my house were not working. I was told it was $60 to get them to the door and then a free estimate. The electrician came in and asked what was wrong. He didn't plug in any test equipment or look at the breaker. He said "ok, let me get your quote" He then quoted close to $800 to run a diagnostic on the whole house to determine the cause. Then...I'd have to pay for the fix after that. I paid the $60 and said thanks but no thanks. Another electrician came in...plugged in a tester to both plugs and determined there was weirdness with the ground. He pulled them both off, replaced the plugs, and all is well. I would've had to pay almost $1000 for 2 new plugs. And at no point did I ever see a "free quote". I met with AAA ELECTRIC a few weeks ago. They had sent an electrician out on an insurance issue. My entire breaker box fried which left my home with no electricity for 3.5 days. The man from the electric co was Ed Juarez. The other person was present from the other co, he needed to see the severity of the damage. The entire breaker box was fried & could not be fixed. A new breaker box was installed, all new breakers & it had it's final inspection 1/19/18. All is good. This company is one I would definitely use again. My company had AAA come in and inspect an issue with our lighting. After looking at it for a minute, the tech told me it would cost almost $600 to run a "diagnostic" to find the issue, and it may or may not fix the problem. That should have been my first clue, but I'm a trusting person so I agreed to move forward after negotiating them down to $450. I thought this "diagnostic" was something very important and extensive. Less than 15 min later he came to me saying he found the issue and it would cost over $2000!!! First of all, if I pay you $450 to do a "diagnostic", it better take longer than 15 min. Take an hour! Please! I couldn't help but feel they were trying to gouge us, and kind of already had with that 15 min, $450 "diagnostic". I don't remember the tech's name, but he seemed like he was trying to sell something more than he was trying to help us fix our problem. Not to mention I was hounded by their accounting for payment, and it hadn't even been a week since they came in. After agreeing to have payment to them by a certain date(less than a week later from speaking to them, and they had no issue with at the time), they still hounded me 2 days prior to the date we agreed upon for the payment stating they hadn't received it yet.... I mean, really...?! I called another company to come in, they looked at the issue for 5 min, could VISUALLY see what the problem was and explained everything very professionally, offered fixing something else brought to our attention as well, and it was LESS THAN $500 for everything!!! WOW!!! AAA seems more into getting your money than helping to fix your problem. I recommend using someone else. We certainly will never call them again. read more

My husband and I own a handful of rental properties in Sacramento and a few months ago I was in need of an electrician to repair a "city line" that was taken down by a tree limb. My tenant had no power whatsoever and it was one of those 100+ degree days. We historically used a different electrical company and when I called my previous vendor they indicated they were about 2-3 days out for the emergency need. Well as you can imagine, I could not wait that long and require my tenant to be without power for 2-3 days in 100+ degree heat. I did a simple Google search and found AAA electrical services. They were able to dispatch an electrician to the property within hours and had it fully repaired within 24 hours (we were hostage to the city inspection, which delayed the power being restored even sooner). The technician was professional and kept me updated along the way. Did I mention that other companies I called were 20-30% higher in price than AAA Electrical? This companies rates are very competitive and well priced. Since that event in August, I have used AAA 3 more times (2 other rentals and my own home) for simple non-emergency repairs. Each and every time the experience was the same. The office staff are so friendly and are amazing about keeping you posted as when the technician will arrive. I have never met their office staff in person; however, I almost feel like Jeannie (office staff) is a life long friend. I guess it is like Cheers where everyone knows your name. In closing, I don't place a lot of reviews, bad or good; however, AAA Electrical deserves 5 stars plus for their service, both office and field staff, and their reasonable prices for the quality work they perform. My tenants called me as well expressing their appreciate for the support by the office and field staff. In fact, I had one tenant call me to say that if all all "contractors had the same work ethic and service this company, landlords would have minimal headache". After having AAA here at my home this evening, I agree. I would recommend AAA Electrical each and every time. The office staff answer the phones asking "how can I make you smile". I'm not going to lie... I feel a little taken advantage of. I was having trouble with my water heater and it ended up being a problem with the circuit breaker. While Ed was very nice, I was charged $360 for him to tighten my wires in the box and for him to check and make sure there was power running through the breakers. They charge by the job, not the hour. He talked about how they were probably going to have to move the business because the company wasn't making much money.... well, I probably just paid their rent for them this month! I guess this is what they call a stupid money for a lesson. I have never written a review, but here we are, 1k for Ed to flip the switch at my circuit board and some information on my electric routing in the house. If it weren't emergency for this holiday weekend that involved my microwave, fridge, toaster and heater, i would have sent Ed away at his price. After diagnostic check, I am sure for an experience electrician, he had an idea that my circuit breaker tripped cos it was overloaded, i was using all of them at the same time and they apparently shared the same circuit breakers, he proposed a diagnostic plan that included some repair in it for $500ish, being the woman, clueless about electric and panic that the fridge and heater are not on, of course i signed. And...there Ed flipped the switch and it's was back on. I felt so stupid and cheated. They could have had other business with me, but nope, this is the first and the last, and also i will not totally recommend them to my people. It's their loss on many level. They are a good company, very professional and respectful. Unfortunately they are also very, very expensive. I had an estimate on putting a ceiling light of in two of my rooms as well as installing a ceiling fan. I had anticipated a cost maybe up to $1,000 for the job. I knew I could find a journeyman to do it cheaper but i liked the idea of having a bonded electrician doing the work. They charge $59 for an estimate. I didn't mind paying it because they take that off the cost of the job if you chose to do the work. I assumed their pricing wouldn't be that crazy but I was wrong. The estimates they gave me were from $2600 to $1700. I was shocked. For two light boxes and a ceiling fan install into an existing box, this seemed way above reasonable. The reps were very nice and professional. It's nothing against them. I feel bad for them trying to sell to people with these prices. I feel they would stand behind their work 100% but for these prices, I'll take my chances elsewhere. EDIT: got a second quote from a journeyman. He said he would do it for $200. So to recap, their pricing was $1700 to $2600. But someone else is willing to do it for $200. read more

My A/C went out on a 100+ degree day. I wish I had known that AAA was open (it was Sunday), but I suffered through and called them Monday morning at 10:00. The electrician arrived on time 2 hours later and had the problem fixed within an hour. The service was extremely professional and trustworthy. From the way they answered the phone, to the way the electrician took care to explain exactly what needed to be done, and to the great care he took to check his work and not leave anything behind or out of place -- everything was AAA. My back yard has been one issue after the next. The spa company advised the wrong whip at the spa box was wrong. After replacing it with the correct whip and connecting to my new spa the spa kept shutting off/tripping at the box. The installer advised sometimes that happens and will go away but if it continues I would have to get a licensed electrician to find out what was wrong and fix it. I googled spa electricians and came across AAA Electrical Services. I called them Friday late afternoon, spoke with a lady name Jeanie, who was very sweet and professional. She explained thoroughly their services and was very clear on all fees involved ($59.00 to come to the house, assess the issue, review those details with me and provide an estimate for repair at which I could accept or decline - if I accepted they would do the repairs right on the spot). I gladly accepted the $59.00 service review charge so I could have someone who was licensed, professional and knew what they were doing put an end to my spa problems (old saying goes - you get what you pay for). Jeanie advised they could have someone come out Saturday morning which I was thrilled that I did not have to wait till Monday and was not charged anything extra for a weekend call. I received a confirmation email with the technicians name (Ruby McLaughlin) and picture so I knew exactly who to expect at the door. Saturday morning Jeanie called me to confirm that the technician, Ruby McLaughlin, was in route and would be to my house in approximately 15 minutes. Ruby showed up within the 15 minutes; she was very professional, polite, and courteous. She listened carefully to what I had to say, she took detailed notes and then quickly got busy assessing the issue. Within 15 minutes she had diagnosed the problem and fix. She was very thorough and confident in explaining what was wrong, that she could fix it, how she would fix, approximately how long it would take to fix it and the cost/fees involved to fix it. After I accepted and signed for her to complete the necessary work/fix, Ruby got started right away. In no time Ruby had the whip connected correctly and also did a courtesy check on the master panel as well to ensure there were no issue there. Ruby's work and skills are impeccable and couldn't have been happier with the service I received from her. Not to mention, she does all of her own stunts. ;o) I will definitely use Ruby and AAA Electrical Services again in the future for any electrical needs. Their prices are astronomical, they break down everything into chargeable tasks so there is a price for every little thing, they spend more time writing on their tablets than actually working on the problem and their technicians, at least the ones that worked on my house, do not seem to know what they are doing and was quick to move on to the next task to add to the charges. I stopped the work when they wanted to move on to the next task. The second electrician I hired to do the repairs, IN THE SAME AREA THEY WORKED ON, completed the repairs in less than 30 minutes, less time than it took them to write on their tablets. I was having a problem with a circuit breaker and just happened to have AAA service sticker on my panel from when I purchased the house so I just called them first....HUGE MISTAKE! They charged me $700 to just diagnois the problem then told me that I need $3700 more work to fix the problem! They were only at my house for about 1 hour and I think it took that long because he had a person with him that I believe he was training. So for $700 all I got was a wire disconnected from main breaker!! So disappointed and what a scam! I will never use this company or recommend that anyone else does!! They really overcharge. They don't bill by the hour, but by the job. Get other bids before using these guys. They bid me a flat $2000 to check out my building after a SMUD outage. I argued that at even $200 an hour, there was no way it could take 10 hours to simply check out the system, as the technician said it was an easy job and shouldn't take too long. I told them the bid was was too high and tried to negotiate price. They refused. So, I shopped for a new electrician. Service is good but they seem to overprice on simple tasks. Also they had to dig up my yard which was fine. They replaced the grass and it was not quite right , again that is fine because it is grass and it will grow back. But things like my pavers and sprinklers where not returned to normal. They where either broken or not leveled. Had to fix it myself. These guys are professional but pricy for what you get. Charged me extra 200 just to pull a permit. Lots of fees add up . The service itself was top notch. However, as many have already stated, pricing is absurd. I've had electrical work done at my place at work that WELL exceeded what we needed at home, and involved a bucket truck to complete, that was around the same price of AAA diagnosing a circuit issue. Had I been home and not dealing with my SO over the phone trying to figure out what they were doing I would have sent them away promptly. I'm not afraid to pay extra for premium service if it provides value in other ways. Although the service was good, I would say the premium price in this instance was not worth it. I was charged nearly $500.00 just to have one of their guys come out and get a few lights working again, as the SP switch was in trip mode. Their employee simply reterminated the wire. It took 2 minutes to fix the problem. Instead, the guy spent three hours here & we were charged $500.00 (including a non-refundable $59.00 dispatch fee). One reviewer (John G.) mentioned that AAA will waive the dispatch fee if one agrees to have them perform work. That is simply NOT true! After seeing John's comment, I called and asked to have the fee waived. A few days later, the general manager called me back and proceeded to argue with me and boast about how great his company is. He was rude, argumentative, and refused to refund the dispatch fee. I certainly did not get the feeling that he values customers from his combative call. Every company with which I have done business has always waived the fee for driving out to our place if we decide to hire them. That is NOT the case with AAA. My husband didn't YELP this company before hiring, and that was the biggest mistake ever. So Edward (the owner) gave us a quote of $2610.74 for the job. They took the deposit of $500 and started right away the same day. After starting the dig one of the worker came to the door and said I have to go get a part and it will add an extra $50 to the bill. I said okay no worries. He said there was an issue with the sprinkler system but it was minor. The next day he said they had to turn off the water for a little while. I said okay. So 4 days later they finished the job. Which was great except they left my yard looking a little bad but it was nothing my gardener couldn't fix. Edward emailed my husband the receipt and normally I don't look over receipts but thank goodness this time I did. Edward sent a receipt and had added an extra line item to the bill of $435 of service to the bill. When I called him on the 21st to ask about the extra line item that didn't come on the original quote, he said the workers said they told me about it. I said they didn't tell me anything other then the $50 repair which was okay and that the water would be off a couple hours so he could fix a piece of something. I said he never said anything about adding or fixing anything else. I said because there is nothing wrong with my sprinklers on this side of my house. He then got rude and offensive. I told him you getting rude and disrespectful because you tried to slide an extra line item to a receipt 4 days later and put our signatures on there like with signed for as part of the original quote. I said that sir is fraud. So he finally agreed he would give me the extra money back except the $50 to my credit card as long as he still had my card number. I called his office on the 26th and spoke to Betty (who was also rude) she said that he can't just refund me without an authorization form which she could email me. I waited until the 31st because I hadn't received an email and neither did my husband. So she said he is just going to try an refund me without the form. I thought okay no problem, until I check my account on the 31st and in stead off a $385 refund he had pending a $2225.74 withdrawal from my account. I called his office and no one was able to help me. He said Betty said she spoke to you earlier and told you about the amount pending for withdrawal when I tried crediting your account. I said Betty called me from a phone that had bad service and the entire time I was telling her I couldn't hear her and I didn't understand anything she was saying. She didn't even try calling back from a different phone or anything. I told him that if by midnight all my money was not in my account we have at least 3 charges against him that we can file against him and he can go to jail. I told him how do you hit so many digests in a refund and none of which even where close to the amount that you should have been refunding me. I told him you guys made a mistake added thing on my bill and then had our signature there like we signed for it instead of giving us a new quote and or even showing me what was going on underground once they claimed to have seen the issues he said made the job more money. This company was the best, i had a bulb catch fire with wire burning smell and they came out so fast, i had never dealt with them before but they were so caring. The technicin Richard that came out got straight to work, he tested everything....over and beyond where my trouble area was, even smud wiring.....he even called smud out for me as he found a concerning issue with smuds wiring. And come to find out smud wiring failed and im now hooked up to a generator, Had he not have done this i could have lost my house AAA has called me mutliple times just to make sure all is well, even showing up again when smud came out at no charge to me. I am a Senior Citizen and I contacted AAA Electrical Services on May 29, 2020 to see about getting a generator. I was told that it would be $59.00 to come out to discuss what kind of generator would be best and then give me an estimate for generator and installation. Ken, the service tech, came out. Looked around at service panel and outside, asked questions about what I wanted to power, how I wanted the generator to operate, i.e. wheel out, automatic etc. We briefly touched on several types but the boss, ED would have additional information. He said he would go back and talk to the boss (ED, I think) about what kind of generator I needed. He said I would get the estimate that afternoon or Monday June 1, at the latest. Today is June 5. No estimate. I called and the woman answering the phone had no information and said sh would call me back. I want my money back. A service fee to generate an estimate is a scam, since no estimate has been generated. No service was rendered. My opinion is I've been taken in a Senior scam. I'm going to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge. After my call inquiring where the estimate was, the owner, ED, the person who was supposed to have my estimate 5 days ago, called back. What a rude SOB. He said he needed to ask me some questions. The SAME questions I already answered in the $59 service call meeting. I got frustrated and told him I already was asked and answered all of the questions at the $59 service visit. He started yelling at me , you can have your $59 back. He wasn't going to sell me anything ($9500 sale). I said alrighty and then sent him an email confirming the refund. Will update the review when/if the refund gets here. I'm wondering if some type of imparement is happening, who in their right mind is rude to a customer and turns down a potential $9500 sale.
