Since my husband and I decided to become an AAA member, I've had a calm sense of security about our insurance for our car. Since they have been in service in some form since early 1900's. That means a great deal if you need help because of an accident or other need. We decided to get passports and found out AAA takes photos for free. Nice perk! AAA does not exist in Grass Valley. Needed new battery under AAA warranty. Was told car would have to be towed to a service facility in Rocklin, California 40 miles away. What the hell. 4 days and no result. read more

I don't know where else to post this because I didn't catch the name on the side of her truck, but I just had my tire changed by McKenna in less than 15 minutes from when I placed the first call. Their website shows that they offer notary services and I tried to call and verify that but the local number is incorrect. Navigating AAAs phone system is horrible. Drove down there to find that they DO NOT offer notary services. They acknowledged that their phone service is pretty bad--even the number on their front door is incorrect. They told me that the correct number is (530) 271-2603. Good luck with that. read more

Love this Branch! Had no idea I could skip going to DMV by going into the office and registering my car there! Also had the quickest and most pleasant experience ever recently with their road side service... waited 20 minutes while any other service quoted me HOURS! In less than 5 minutes each, I completed payment of my AAA Insurance Premium Payment and annual renewal of my CA State Vehicle License Plate Sticker. These two activities were completed by a friendly AAA Employee who smiled and welcomed me to AAA. While there, I was able to get accurate information about DMV policy and AAA Policy information by the same person. This was our second visit to the Grass Valley Branch where you are acknowledged upon room entry and served quickly by staff who have been cross-trained in support services. We have been members of AAA for over 45 years and have worked with many AAA Office Locations. Grass Valley is ready and waiting to help you. During my visit, I watched a GV Employee help a young male driver and Dad understand how to get the young driver's first AAA Policy and the responsibility and trust that is related to this very important subject. Amazing staff who are extremely helpful. Went on a day that the DMV system was down and waited awhile for it to come back up but during the time is was down the staff made sure to help us in eveyway possible so when the system came back up we would be ready. Was able to register our vehicle, sign up for roadside assistance and insure our vehicle in a timely manner even with the system being down. Member for 43 years. Have home, cars and umbrella policies. Called Grass Valley 6 weeks or so prior to home insurance renewal as I had heard they were not renewing in Alta Sierra and I wanted to be ahead of the people trying to scramble get insurance with another company. Told "oh no you are fine, we would never cancel you, you have been a member for 43 years with no claims." Cancelled via mail several weeks later. Called local office again, busy, left message. No response. Beware, when you call the local office, if it is busy you are transferred to the call center and are not made aware of it. Do not take the Ca. Fairplan which CSAA will offer you. The only one it is fair for is the State of Ca, not the home owner, Disgusted with CSAA wish I had never given them my trust and money for 43 years! read more

Our 2012 Dodge 3500 truck broke while towing our 5th wheel on Hwy 101 outside of Willits CA. After 4 calls and 3 hours of waiting (and confirming AAA will drop our 5th wheel at an RV park prior to taking the truck to the repair shop) I get a call back from AAA to say they do not have a driver who can tow the 5th wheel? I will have to find someone to tow the trailer? I said I would find someone to tow both as we were not in a safe place to unhook. After finding someone a nice AAA driver shows up with a truck that could tow both our truck & trailer. We couldn't let him take it as we had someone else on the way. The poor AAA driver was so nice but said it would have been a $700 tow for him. I said I would request he got paid when I ask for my reimbursement!!! He should be paid, it was AAA's screw up! When I call to complain & to find our about how to seek reimbursement of the $787.50 we had to pay for our tow, I received a $30 credit toward our membership fee. Mind you I have been a AAA member over 25 years, am a Premier and can count on 1 hand how many times I have used this service over the years. I wait the month for the reimbursement - much to my surprise I receive a DENIAL letter because the receipt from the tow company is in my husbands name and the membership is in my name!!!! I am now of course fighting this.....AAA is no different than any other large origination, they: TAKE TAKE TAKE FROM CONSUMERS, PROVIDE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOOK FOR ANY LOOP HOLE TO KEEP THE CONSUMERS MONEY!!!! Going to AAA since 1990 and have used DNV services before at many locations, I keep my membership just for all these perks. At Grass a alley a woman behind the DMV desk where I had some registration address changed questions condescended to me, was vague and only giving me sentences " you can do that but I can't give you nothing" instead of explaining there was a fee involved or my husband had to come in. When I gathered I could not do this change she then over explained the hours when I asked about Saturday DMV services at Auburn so my husband can go. She explained in a overly sarcastic, loud slow tone how they were closed this Saturday. It was so loud and rude! I matched her and left and will never return- beware of lady in her 50s , Moises brown hair, glasses and a bad attitude with a total lack of education or how the English language works! I recently went to the AAA Grass Valley office because I could not find my auto registration renewal form. The people in the office were wonderful; efficient, friendly and speedy!!! I've been a member of AAA for over 40 years, and I have always had great experiences. This was no exception. My boyfriend has AAA and our car broke down tonight and they said it would be about an hour. I'd say 45 minutes went by and I really needed a bathroom and the gas station we were at didn't have one. I ran down to the gas station down the hill to use the restroom and there just so happened to be a tow truck with AAA on it. I took a chance, asked if he got a call for a jumpstart and instantly he jumped in his radio to see if that would be his first run of the night. Mind you, already said he hadn't even gotten to the place to get his little tablet and everything he needed. They told him that it was under my boyfriends name and I told him that was my boyfriend and he said "let me finish putting gas in the truck and I'll head up there to jumpstart you and within 5 minutes he was there. Ten minutes later and we were gone. He had my boyfriend sign paperwork and everything and we were on our way ! I didn't happen to catch his name but he is a true blessing!! Thank you!! read more
