I wanted to give a big shoutout to Henrique H. at AAA for providing exceptional service and for helping me close the loop on the hellish experience of importing a plateless out-of-state vehicle to CA. To register an out-of-state vehicle, you need to bring your car to the DMV or AAA for an inspection. They check for the emissions sticker (which is extremely hard to access in my car; I had to pay $185 for someone to take apart my trunk), door jamb sticker, and VIN stickers on your car. You also need to make sure you have your paperwork in order. If you do bring your car for inspection, make sure you bring it before 4PM Mon-Fri since that's the only time frame in which they do the inspection for out-of-state vehicles. Anyway, I went to AAA and the DMV several times and was always told something different depending on who I spoke to. When Henrique was helping me out at AAA, he told me EXACTLY what was missing, highlighted any missing fields on my form, and told me when to come in. The next time I did come in, he processed my paperwork very quickly and I was on my way with my registration and plates. I just so happened to look my newly purchased vehicle information. Needing the vin number. For a class action lawsuit against Toyota. Anyways, I purchased coverage for all 3 of vehicles about a year ago. My new vehicle was added full coverage right way. Since I had to in order to purchase the vehicle. Right now after reviewing my policy, triple aaa literally changed and switch my coverage plan without notifying me. This is very big problem and will fall under a class action lawsuit as well. Especially if they did this to more customers in California. After all the big payouts in the first quarter all insurance companies had to pay, no insurance company has room to make these kinds of risky moves. And I myself have a podcast on six different social media websites. I will make a video exposing AAA and explaining why not to do any business with them. Don't think just because it hasn't happened to you that it won't! I will ask all customers in California who have had a similar issue with aaa to come forth and share their horrible experience with them! I am beyond serious, I literally pay all my insurance coverage for all my cars six months in advance! This last payment was 8 months in advance, and now that I actually made the time dig deeper this is what I find! Seriously, you bet your sweet tight a** I will be talking with my family lawyer first thing Monday morning! And start working on the video, and reach out to random stranger to interview. So we both can share our stories on my podcast! aaa will definitely lose way more, and I will not stop! I will continue further, and further, and further. Probably will make a check list, 1) legal action 2) podcast 3) channel seven on your side 4) Spanish channel- si hablo espanol! Lol It literally says it on my mobile app but doesn't say the changes. And back tracking on some paperwork and comparing it while backtracking on the mobile app! The changes are added and hidden in the app updates. Please do not up date your aaa app on your phone, if you do? Or at least right before you do, take a look at it and go through it completely. And take screenshots and then do the exact same thing after the app update and compare the difference. Please people pay attention when you pay your bills, actually read them, break it all down and go thru it! Make the time to do! Everything is so expensive these days, and companies know the average person will not check their bills. All these companies including aaa think their customers are stupid! They are and will take advantage of you ! Here is a hint, why do you think almost all companies these days bug you to set up autopay? It's to steal from you, while manipulating you into thinking that yes your bill is paid and you don't have to worry about it and don't need to pay attention. You can trust them. F that! No can not trust them at all! They will lie and say it was an automated system error! And that lie is true, why would you program it to do that! Please check everything you pay for in detail and make the time to investigate your financial statements for all bills! Another hidden scammer is planet fitness, do worry they are next . And so on and so forth! As for that ! Lol this location is cool, friendly, respectful and professional. All the times I have been there, I have never once seen any employee treat anyone differently. And that does make a big difference, most businesses, have employees that treat all customers differently. Sadly to say! But not this location. The only problems I have ever encountered here at this specific location? Is the rude customers with attitude. I have put more than one in check , make and female! I myself do not tolerate or put up with any kind of disrespect from anyone or anything! Another problem, is the rush at the time of closing. I know what it feels like working in customer service myself and customers literally come in with an attitude 3 minutes before closing. Sadly, this location don't have the great customer it usted to have, in general, AAA is not what it used to be. My insurance double in cost, & I walked in to ask why? The guy "helping" me was very rude & unprofessional. I felt more like I was in a court room. Getting smart with & treating me like he was doing me a favor. Customer service is not the same here no more. After 9 years I will cancel my insurance & home insurance. Besides the huge price increase & awful costumer service even when calling in for whatever situation. I've visited different locations. & it's the same bad service. The agent I talked to yesterday, really seem like he was ready for a standoff, Asian guy. I felt very uncomfortable to ask questions. When I asked why it went up almost 110% higher than last year. He said, everything went up & we are losing so much money. We have to raise our prices. So my question was, is this his AAA punish me for good driving record & having them for almost 10 years? I've been a AAA member for over 20 years with multiple policies. I stopped in this office to renew my car registration and get a new passport photo. I've been to many AAA offices all over the state of California, My expectation was to leisurely take care of business. Upon walking in I was completely taken aback by the layout and disfunction of this location. No one at the door to greet or direct you to where you needed to go. Nothing but a sea of metal file cabinets and empty cubicles. It reminded me of a movie show where the detective is chain-smoking all night long looking at the evidence. Oddly placed signs hang from the ceiling, only visable from certain points. The DMV line went to the door. There are a few chairs, but unless you have someone to stand in line for you, they aren't convenient. Four chairs are at the counter. By the time you get there, you don't need them. More concerning the corral setup of a line is not ADA friendly for someone in a wheelchair. Standing in line was someone with an oxygen tank, another with cane and one lady with a walker. The CA DMV, has a special line for people with disabilities and you can sit while waiting for your number! Shame on this AAA office for not having considered the needs of people with different abilities! Only two people at the counter and lots of AAA workers sitting around oblivious to the demands in the DMV department. Members stood in the line out the door, only to realize once they got inside they were in the wrong line. One representative was obviously new and constantly interrupted the other asking for help. A man stood at a closed counter don't something behind the window, but was uninterested in helping his struggling coworkers. He may have been getting off work, but in the interest of providing good customer service, he should have the authority or initiative to help. Even a simple announcement "thank you everyone for being so patient, these ladies will get to you as soon as they can" would have been a nice gesture. I had the new representative. Besides her competence, her customer service interaction skills were lacking. She was very monotone and terse. Maybe it was frustration. Besides my vehicle renewal, I asked where to get passport photos She told me stand by the front door. Afterwards, she handed me the receipt and searched under the counter. After a few seconds, she looked at me dumbfounded and asked if I needed anything else. She didn't thank me for my 22 years of membership, say have a good night or any other closing statement. I thought she was looking for something to give me! I explained this to her and could practically hear the crickets chirping in her brain. At the front door counter I waited for a while and no one noticed until I shouted to the closest desk. She told me to get in line at the DMV and pay for the photos. At this point, I am seriously contemplating canceling everything! I refused to get back in line when I just previously asked the DMV person about photos. Very reluctantly and clearly annoyed by my defiance, she walked me to the DMV counter, telling me "it's not the new girls fault, she didn't know". Well its not my fault either lady! The rep who took my photo was also new and took lots of frames and prints until she figured the angle out. By the way, there are no mirrors in the photo area. With the labryinth of metal file cabinets they should place a locker room mirror somewhere! Finally, I had tried to call this location many times and book a cruise, left so many messages that went unreturned. I booked my trip directly through the cruise line. Now that I visited this office I understand why I could never reach anyone. Long story short, it's conveniently located, but I will never visit this location ever again. Unless they have free coffee and popcorn (like many in southern California do)...then I'd reconsider. read more

I am not even sure which aaa branch provided my service. Called aaa to get a battery for my old car. They got there within a couple of hours. I expected this, because not all batteries fit for all the cars. Not one size fits all. They got there about 3 hours later and were able to switch it out. I had such a great experience when I learned I needed to visit an office Friday after work. I was greeted warmly at the door, I was next in line I only waited about 5 minutes, once I was called to the window the woman was very nice and processed my DMV request in less then 5 minutes. On my way out I was thanked for my business and was not rushed out since it was 15 minutes till closing. I'm very happy with the service I got and I am extremely thankful for a 6pm closing time because that allows me time to take care of business after my workday. read more

I went there for car seat check. They scheduled the appointment very quickly. Even better, the service I received was perfect! Snez was the person who helped me check my car seat. She found that it was installed loosely so she took the time to explain how to fit it better. Then she demo'ed three options to install the seat in the middle and also in the end. Then, she herself asked me if I knew how to properly secure the child in the car seat and showed me how to do it. When the child grows, how could I adjust the height of the harness. She was very patient with me! Usually people write reviews when they are extremely satisfied or extremely annoyed. Last night tried getting a tow and they basically said they had no trucks to tow the truck. At Jack London 201 Washington street truck was broken into. All items were taken and was alone in the dark waited until midnight for a tow AAA did not want to help me. Women alone in the dark and the agent basically said we have no trucks to tow. I really like that they have a DMV window. This is very helpful and it's great but having to go into the local dmv when we need to pay renewals and get new registration in person. I know that AAA closed some of the pop ups that they used to have that used to be in local grocery stores before Covid so at least we still have dmv services at local AAA. Just remember they no longer accept checks so you need to bring cash and or you can use credit card with small service fee. Folks are helpful but you need to be patient often times there is a line so you may need to wait 15-20 mins. read more

I recently received a letter from DMV assessing me a penalty fee, even though they had stated they were allowing a grace period if someone could not pay their fees due to CoVid19-related job loss/change. I called DMV to ask about this and was told there was a one hour wait. I then called AAA and found out they were open just for DMV related transactions. I arrived and a very kind woman listened to my sob story, then handed me a "fee waiver" form from DMV and showed me where to wait on the blue "X". (We all know we have to wait on an "X" these days). I was called inside before I filled out the form. Once inside, everything was clearly marked, from where to wait to where to put the pen I borrowed so it could be sanitized before it was given out again. There was an employee who sanitized countertops between customers also. Masks ARE required, of course. The employee who helped me was very kind, was able to waive the penalty and processed my registration within five minutes. I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes. I would have still been waiting on the phone at home! The woman who met me outside the building told me she didn't normally work in the DMV area, but she was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I was impressed that AAA was trying to keep as many people working as possible. The area was clean and well-marked and those customers who were unable to stand in line could wait in their car and the woman outside would come and get them at their turn. It is obvious AAA cares about their customers AND their employees, which is very important. AAA has been there for me when I was broken down by the side of the road, and when I needed to renew my registration during a global pandemic. They are a class act and I will continue renewing my membership for another 40 years! read more

What's with this businesses that kick even harder when you down. God forbid that you don't give your payments on time because you will probably run the risk of loosing your coverage. Over the years we've spent thousandssss of dollars paying for our car insurance and now that I had my car stolen the transaction has been so difficult and now as smoothly as I expected it to go. To make the story short we did eventually agreed on a pay out on my car because it was never recovered. The adjuster that was assign to handle my claim was AMY CHANDLER after she cut the check they stoped the coverage on my rental and they should realize that it takes a few days for check to clear. I clearly told Amy that we (husband and I) dud not have a joint account so we wouldn't be able to get the check over wire transfer. We finally got the check and realized that the check is under both of our names and we are having such a difficult time cashing it. I've tried to get in contact at least a few times including leaving voicemails to see if there's any way for them to continue the rental until we figure this check thing out. I do need the money to get another car and now I'm stuck without a car and paying a rental out of my own pocket. AAA should be a little bit more humane and help there clients until at least they cash there check so they can get another form if transportation. Amy's email says to reach out to her in case of any questions that's a BOLD FACE lie - she never had the decency to follow up with me. This review is for the car seat inspection. Scheduling the car seat inspection took a couple days, but a much better turn around time compared to scheduling with the Hayward CHP as they took longer to get back to me and had me call back a couple times. Snez helped me both install the car seat and inspected it. I had a hard time installing myself, but she helped me find the optimal spot and configuration in my car. It was raining really hard, so she told me not to worry and just relax in the car while she did her magic. The install and inspection didn't take long at all - maybe around 30 minutes. Snez is very friendly and I recall seeing good reviews on her performance at the Milpitas branch where she transferred from. The car seat install and inspection was the last thing on my to do list before baby's arrival. I'm glad we were able to schedule when we did because I'm having signs of baby coming very soon. After being transferred to the wrong departments three times and going through 6 different CSRs I finally got a hold of someone who alerted me to the fact that they had processing issue 60 days earlier that affected my delivery.
