Look out for your safety & stay away from AAA Service Network & their long standing employee Brian Leach. Brain was the technician sent to our home to repair a gas leak from our stove. This man violated our sense of safety and went through the entire 1st floor of our home opening up doors, cabinets and creeped around every room. I called to report it to AAA Service Network and was apologized to profusely that another incident has happened with him. When questioning the wording of "another incident" I was told that Brian has had numerous complaints over the years (he's an employee of 18yrs) of what they called "odd" behavior. And then was told he's an odd character but they think he's harmless. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! This man stole my sense of security in my home in a matter of minutes. To hear that this is not the first incident or complaint of this nature is beyond disturbing! read more

Terrible and disorganized customer service. I had multiple people call, reschedule, or have the wrong time - after 24 hours, I just told them to forget it. The folks doing the calls had no idea what they were talking about plumbing-wise. Honestly, do yourself a favor and skip over this one - go with a reputable and reliable plumber like A1 Bargain Plumbing - there are a lot of other plumbers who are actually honest. read more

Purchased a furnace/ac unit 4 years ago from this company. Soon after they installed it, my downstairs neighbor informed me that water was leaking into her unit. After looking at the furnace, no attempt was made to clear the ac water line and the secondary drip was not hooked up, thus flooding her utility closet. Dunlap sent a tech out at no charge to fix the issue. Shortly after that I was sued by my neighbor and when we went back to Dunlap they claimed not to be at fault. I went to court representing myself with no help from Dunlap. What a shame. I was so upset. Now, 4 years later they sent a tech out to see why the unit was underperforming. $1000 to fix and not under warranty???? I would never use this company again. Exceptionally knowledgeable and personable technicians. Alex and his partner were dispatched to repair my mother's old heat pump. Both were respectful of her home (e.g. Protective shoe covers, advising when they needed to access other parts of the house, etc.) and provided frequent updates on their activities. Alex patiently explained the new digital thermostat to my 86 year old mother, ensuring she was completely comfortable. Air conditioning went out on Sunday. Did preliminary checks and determined A coil frozen, and blower was not functioning. Called for Sunday service--was called by Nels and he suggested he could do nothing so wait until Monday. I'm an engineer so I troubleshot the furnace using Carrier's troubleshooting guide. Determined the ECM attached to motor had failed--there was a blown capacitor. Called tech back to give part numbers so he could bring them. He refused to take them claiming he had to check it out first. Came out Monday without parts, said secondary heat exchanger was bad--but it had just been replaced a few months ago. When I told him, he said it was wet--oh probably from frozen A-coil thawing. ECM for motor would cost me $1000+ (they sell new from Carrier for under $350 from several sources). Sorry, its $1000+ or nothing. I chose nothing--he charged me $90 for service call and diagnostic (?) and I ordered part for $325 and fixed myself. I would not recommend this guy.... read more

Have been having some intermittent furnace issues for about 4 years. The company that installed the furnace 13 years has come out twice and replaced the same parts each time. Internet research told me that these parts should have to be replaced that often. I decided to give Dunlaps a call mostly because they are a local business. So far I am very glad I did. Tim showed up and after I told him the history he tested a couple of things on the furnace. His opinion was that the flame sensor was the issue due to it not reaching a recommended level of sensing. Tim cleaned the sensor and put it back in but recommended a new one due to its age. A new is 25 bucks and I can put in myself. Tim answered all my questions and did not think the parts that had been previously replaced were the issue. I hope he has solved the problem but at the very least it cost me less and I got a lot of info. This just might be my new go to place for hvac issues. read more

A/C stopped working last summer. Said I had to replace the coils $$. They replaced them. This summer A/C didn't work again. Said I had to replace entire unit $$$$$. 11 days after new A/C installed, A/C stopped working. Did I mention it's 90+ degrees outside? Symptoms have been consistent. Did I just spend a bunch of money on things that weren't even the issue or do they not know how to fix/install an A/C unit or both? No idea when/how this will get resolved. Be careful of potentially being "over-sold". My elderly parents (80 yrs. old) purchased a new complete HVAC system and wanted a high efficiency furnace. When I saw the price of the system, I immediately believe that the purchased system was over-spec'd at best. After discussion with the salesman that sold the system to my parents, I was told that he sold the system based on my mother's request for the "best" system. After investigating the furnace that was sold to my parents, it was a high performance furnace at a 98% efficiency rating. Before my internet investigation, I had never heard of a 98% efficiency furnace for a 1,600 sq. ft. home but had experience with the typical 95-96% efficiency ratings as the industry standard for a high efficiency furnace. When I "Googled" the furnace that was sold, it was noted as "preferred by conscientious homeowners who want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the extremely high efficiency". Be sure you don't let the salesman interpret what you mean by the "best" because my mother wanted the "best" but I still believe she did not fully understand that from a 96 to 98% efficiency furnace, it costs an additional $2,000+ (wow...you do get a $500 thermostat). The morale of the story (sorry "review") is to do your research and understand all your options and pricing before potentially being "over-sold". If not, prepare to purchase a product that's better for the environment than your pocketbook. read more
