They have been very easy to deal with, and I think our rat situation is resolved. So that's great. However, there are a few things I wish I'd known going into this: 1) Alameda County Vector Control is a publicly funded service and they will send a rodent exclusion specialist out to tell you what is going on. There's really no need pay $50-$100 for an Aantex inspection. You'll still need someone to address the access points that Vector Control identifies, but it might turn out to be something you can handle yourself. 2) Some rodent exclusion services will put in one way gates so that the rats can get out but not in. This makes a difference if you have animals trapped in your attic, which we didn't. Aantex just sealed off the access. 3) The traps will be right at the entrance to the attic or basement. If you're not squeamish you can check them yourself and save a good deal of money. Our attic and basement are both crawl spaces. I assumed that the traps needed to be placed in the area where the rodents were active and the idea of crawling over insulation (attic) or dirt (basement) to get to the traps was daunting so I paid for the trap check service. If I had known the traps would be this accessible I could have saved myself some money. read more

Called aantex for help with a springtail problem I was having in my back yard. They signed me up for service for a year. While I was keeping track of the times that I had visits from them,when an extra visit popped up I called them to ask if my one year was up. they told me I had one more so I thought I miscounted. they came out and I paid. then they came out again, and I called again. they told me I needed to call in to cancel. I told them I called and they told me I had one more visits and never gave me this information. lady on the phone didn't really care.So beware with this company for unauthorized visits and charges.especially if you're on autopay.Oh, and the springtail problem still exist. read more

I've had a service agreement with Aantex for a few years; but more recently, asked them to check our crawlspace for possible rodent infestation. The much-praised and capable William came out to look things over. He made extraordinary efforts first to investigate, then mitigate by filling a couple voids that could let in critters, and finally thoroughly cleaning the area and removing debris to prevent not only rodents, but potential termite infestation. We had a serious ant problem that we battled for 4 weeks. Finally, we contacted several pest control companies and only 2 responded for quotes. One failed to show for the scheduled appointment while Aantex needed only to quote by phone and arrived on time for the appointment and quickly applied the treatment after first asking about all pest issues of which we were aware and how they will ensure that we have no further problems. Adan applied our treatments and we have agreed to their quarterly program which will adjust the treatments as may be required for the time of year. Quite pleased with Aantex & their service guarantee (they'll cover you up to 2 months after a service). We had the unique displeasure of having our house invaded by ants, both inside & out, and tried all the over-the-counter treatments promised to work "naturally". Don't waste your time. Just call a professional exterminator, like Aantex, and take your house back! I was initially concerned with the toxicity of a traditional pest treatment, but the woman I consulted with on the phone explained to me pros & cons of natural (which they offer) or traditional treatments. Basically, the toxicity of the spray is enough to kill the body size of an ant. It would barely work on a grasshopper, let alone a full size human (or even a baby sized one). So, proportionally speaking, it's totally safe for us. I bought it, and decided to go with the strong stuff. They sent a technician out a couple days later, he identified the ant nests outside, sprayed the problem areas, and by the next day, our ant problems were eliminated. It was about $160 for the very quick service. The real value was being able to call them a couple weeks later when we discovered a NEW ant nest outside, which we were afraid would make it's way indoors soon. They came back immediately and took care of the problem, no questions asked, no extra cost. Their prices are very competitive (I called around), and their 2-month promise (compared to 1 month that most exterminators offer) is great peace of mind. If you're dealing with creepy insects, don't try to DIY your way out of it. Leave it to the pros! read more

I have been at war with ants since i moved here in 2012. Spent a fortune on Terro traps, which kept them crawling around but controlled. Some years were worse than others - last year was a nightmare. They were coming in from doors and windows, and i couldn't take it anymore so i called Aantex. Rigo was on time, professional and fast. Sprayed the perimeter of the house and indoors - product is invisible, did not smell or stain. Finally writing this review - needed to see if spraying was going to work. I am feeding 2 outdoor cats, and have a recycling bin that isn't always immaculate, which is where ants liked to hang out. Since the Aug. visit i've seen maybe 2 ants. Completely amazing. I recently had a concern about termites after I found a few swarmers in my Kitchen. I contacted Aantex based upon their excellent reviews. They sent Dave over for a limited inspection of the area at no charge the same day I called. I was very happy with the excellent customer service. Dave arrived about an hour later and conducted an inspection of our home including the crawl space. Dave spent over an hour looking for any signs of termites to which he found no evidence of termites. Needless to say I was relieved. I was very impressed with Dave's professionalism in taking the time to explain what I need to look for and do in the future. I've had an ongoing issue for 10 months now where she claims I'm up to date then says she sent "incorrect information" and now we owe two months. This has happened twice. About a month in a half ago I had a mouse in my home and as you can imagine, I was mortified. I was even more concerned because of my 4 year old and my 7 month old who was crawling all over the place. I called Aantex and they were professional, very understanding and prompt. William from Aantex came to my home and he went above and beyond with assisting me with this little intruder. I had put out traps but I didn't realize that the traps weren't set properly. William reset my traps, he even put his own bate to lure the mouse. He gave me advice on what to look out for and to contact him should the problem persist. Ants and Rodents: I live in Richmond where ants erupt from holes like lava from a volcano and are a constant pest to the home. I called Aantex about five years ago to get help with this, signing up for their quarterly treatment plan. I haven't seen an ant problem in our home since. They still exist outside in the garden but that's where they stay. About three years ago there was a major insurgence of rats and mice to our home. I could hear them in the ceiling, in the walls, and they invaded our kitchen. We needed help! I called Aantex and William arrived, going over each inch of our house to see where they could be coming in and where they were living. He was super knowledgable about rodent behavior and amazed me with finding holes in the most obscure of places. He wrote up a plan and a technician came out to cover up all of the holes inside of the home, outside the home, and in the crawlspace. They also laid numerous traps that were effective in eliminating the rodents but were mindful of our kids and made sure they were out of their reach. We worked with William and his guys over the next couple of weeks, with them coming out to clean the traps, lay new ones, cover up any new entry points every few days to weekly, and the rodent issue went down to zero. Cut to last week. We heard something in our kitchen behind our stove. I immediately called Aantex. William came out, did a thorough walkthrough again and found where rodents had made a new entry hole. He covered the hole and, as a precaution, rehung a side garage door that previously was creating a small gap and rehung our crawlspace door to be airtight. He laid a few traps where he believed the rat would walk. Within hours of him leaving, we heard a snap. The rat was caught and I've heard no activity since. Scheduled an appointment with them, they promised to call 20mins ahead of time, the technician showed up at my door, 10mins before the end of their window and told me my house was too dirty and he had a time schedule to keep, he couldn't wait 20mins for me to clean up my child's toys. Their office staff try to be helpful, but after 15mins of hold time, then the phone hanging up on me.. for something that was not my mistake, I'll be looking for a different company after all. It sucks, because I wanted to support a local business. I also wanted to note, that they only offer the warranty that others have mentioned, on specific services, not all of their services. read more

Wow! One bad employee can be the difference from a quality experience to an awful one. Recently, we had an influx of ants and spiders around our home. Our home warranty provides us with coverage against pests and we submitted a claim to have a pest control provider come to take care of the problem. When this happened in the past, they would send a different provider but this time the sent Aantex. When we were contacted by Aantex, the woman whom we spoke with was extremely rude. She acted like she was doing us a favor. Something as simple as scheduling an appointment was a chore for her. Her bad attitude spilled through the phone. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Hey, I've had bad days too but I'm still going to be respectful to others despite my feelings. It's unprofessional in my opinion but I'll let it go this time. Eventually, someone comes out to our house and the gentleman was courteous and polite. He he did his work and went on his way. Great right? Not really. About 2 weeks later, the ants are back and are even worse than before they came to take care of the problem. I call to ask if they'll send someone out to address the problem again. I get the same woman and she's got an even worse attitude than before. The first time, I'll didn't make a big deal about how she spoke to me but talk to me like that again and there aren't any excuses. She flat out told me that they came out as a "courtesy" to us and that they will not send someone out again and that there was nothing more they would do for me. I told her I would call the home warranty company and let them know how rudely she spoke to us, that they did not take care of the problem and that they refused to rectify it. She didn't seem to care and acted as if I was bluffing. I did call the home warranty provider and explained to them what happened and asked for a different provider. They will also reassess their list of providers based on my input. I'm lucky that I learned my lesson about this company and it only cost me the deductible for my home warranty. I would recommend that anyone considering hiring them to look elsewhere. In this time of supporting small businesses, your dollars are better spent with a pest control company that'll treat you with respect and dignity. read more

Aantex provided me with a competitive bid once I knew what work needed to be done. They were easy to work with. There was an issue around the subcontractor they hired to do the fumigation work. The subcontractor broke both of my gates and a main part of my sprinkler system. The subcontractor didn't even tell me when they left. Aantex gave me the subcontractor's information and worked with me to have the subcontractor fix the gates. The subcontractor had a guy come out and still left the gates in worse condition from when they first came out. At that point, Aantex came back and helped to fix the gate that was especially still messed up even though they didn't break it. Overall, Aantex did a great job. They need to work on finding subcontractors that meets their quality. read more
