Todd knocked it out of the park with how fast and we'll his work was on my LG double oven that would not bake on one of the ovens! Called me within the hour I left my initial voicemail. Made my appointment within a few days (granted it was running into the holidays). And when he showed up he diagnosed the problem with my oven within 15 minutes and told me he had the piece to repair it with. From start to finish I think he was done in about 45 min. This is the way to go if you are MAD at your money. I thought that AMS was going to come in and actually fix the issues I was having. Instead He walked in looked at the microwave button that wasn't working and the dishwasher light that wasn't coming on. Handed me a bill for $55.00 and said he would get back with a quote. After I called back many times he gave me the most ridiculous quote. I asked if the $55.00 was to go toward it and he said yes very reluctantly. I am sure he would have not mentioned that had I not pushed the issue. So I basically paid him $55.00 for a 5 minute look over and had to chase him for a quote. Fantastic service! Responsive and reliable. Todd replaced an ice maker on my fridge and when it started slowing output and finally stopped 2 months after installation, I was assumed the problem was some other component and considered if the repair cost was worth it or if it was time for a new fridge. Todd came back, determined it was a faulty unit, installed a new ice maker, and didn't charge me anything, not even for the service call. He was able to diagnose based on the evidence provided and then ordered the part. Was onsite a once it came in a few days after xmas. He was in and out of the house in maybe an hour. We needed the heating element replaced and not only was he able to diagnose on the spot, he had a heating element with him to replace our broken one. He even took a look at our washer which has also been on the fritz as well. After finding out Fleshman Appliance doesn't come to my zip anymore, was referred to AMS (Todd Honeycutt). Though I was apprehensive to have a new service person in my life (I've been burned before,) this guy was great. He diagnosed and fixed my washer very quickly....apparently there's a reason why mother always used to yell at us to MAKE SURE our pockets are empty. I accidentally left a drill bit in my jeans and it jammed the mechanism to let water drain out of the washer. But I digress. He showed up on time, he was clean, he actually smelled good. Good guy, fair prices and quick service. I've used Todd twice now and he does great work. First repair was the dishwasher in which he came out same day and fixed the issue quickly. This round I left a VM Sunday (off Sun) and he called about 1130am to schedule a 2-4 pm drop in same day (monday). Walked in at 3pm, five minutes to identify the problem, 10 or 15 to fix. (lightning blew some part that stopped it from cooling). $180 after taxes, I'm thrilled I don't have to buy a new one or pay $500 for a repair. Nice guy, gets right own to business. I cannot attest to him smelling good like the other reviewer Kristen, but can say I didn't notice either way (which is good for several reasons). Ha. We have used Todd at AMS twice now. The first time was about six months ago when our Maytag dryer stopped turning. Todd came out the next day and found the problem. A snake had crawled up into the inner workings, wrapped himself into the slot where the fan belt meets the drum, and that was the end of that snake. Todd 'fixed' the dryer by removing the snake. Poor snake! Then, just last week, the same dryer started making a really loud screeching noise. Todd came out two days later. This time it wasn't a snake, it was the main bearing. Fortunately Todd had the replacement part on his truck and everything was fixed and back to normal in 45 minutes. The price was very reasonable too. You may have to wait a day or two for Todd but it is worth it. read more

Todd is great. I was also referred to him by Fleshman. It took a little bit for him to get back with me, I guess he's really busy, that's why the 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, I can't speak highly enough about Todd. He was clean, professional, polite, and most importantly he had integrity. He had already ordered the part based on our phone conversation, but when he played around with our washing machine for a few seconds, he told me that the bearing on our front-loader washing machine could go out any time, and that that would cost a lot to fix (we'd probably be best buying a new machine if that happened). I really appreciated his honesty. He could easily just have installed the part and made a bit more money, but he just collected the (in my mind) modest service fee of $52 and I didn't end up wasting my money. Go with Todd! This is only our 2nd post to Yelp, and the 1st ever for a service provider, but we're so pleased with AMS we just had to "pay it forward" to let others in need know about Todd and his company. We just utilized AMS for the second time in less than a year, and couldn't be more pleased with Todd's service, professionalism, and integrity. The first time out he repaired our primary KitchenAid refrigerator in the house, as well as a spare Maytag refrigerator we keep in the garage, after A&E couldn't get us the parts we needed for several weeks. Todd found the parts through another source and had us back up and running in days vs. weeks, and at a lower price than A&E was going to charge us to wait on the rebuilt parts. Todd was back out earlier this week to repair the ice container release in the KitchenAid refrigerator, as well as a broken turntable support in our KitchenAid microwave oven. Once he determined each repair required only a relatively inexpensive part available locally, he offered to either buy them and repair them for us or simply give us the part numbers so we could install them ourselves - thus saving us the cost he would charge to repair them. He arrived when he said he would and called me in advance to let me know he was on the way so I could make sure someone was home. The balance issue was a quick fix, one I may have been able to do myself, but I didn't want to try, get in over my head, and make a bigger mess of things. I just had Todd Honeycutt at my house for about an hour to troubleshoot why my 10-year old washing machine was leaking during the spin cycle and also to repair my ice maker on my Whirlpool refrigerator. He is a top-notch professional. He arrived in the time window he said he would, wore clean clothes, was courteous and friendly, though somewhat quiet and focused on his work. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the washer (simply build-up that needed cleaning) and didn't charge me for that work. He then determined that the ice maker module needed to be replaced, which he did. I spent quite a bit of time talking about his business and how he gets business: he's the sole owner of this company and doesn't have any employees. He simply gets business by word of mouth and referrals. I would highly recommend Todd for any appliance or maintenance work. After researching several appliance repair businesses in the north Austin area I submitted a contact request via a form on the AMS Appliance repair website. Mr. Honeycutt called the following day and scheduled an appointment for two days later. He showed up on time (and called to let me know he was on his way). The stove he showed up to repair was working when he inspected it (he apparently intimidates some appliances... either that or I was just hallucinating it not working). Coincidentally, my refrigerator had started acting up since my initial contact with AMS so at my request he also took a look into that problem. I was resigned to buying a new fridge and just expected him to confirm that would be the best option for me. However, he was able to instantly diagnose and carry out the refrigerator repair as well as replace a faulty ice maker (again at my request) that had been out of service for years. He had all the parts on hand and the total repair call took less than an hour. So even though I initially felt dumb for calling him out for a working stove he left me with a refrigerator that is working better than it has in years. Not to mention my delight at escaping with a relatively inexpensive repair instead of buying a new refrigerator. I couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism and overall experience of my dealings with Mr. Honeycutt. I hate calling repair men. I mean they could tell me my flux capacitor is out and I'd let them order the part and "fix" it. I had to call AMS because the temperature knob jumped off of our oven. I thought I'd take a look at it and broke two gas lines in the process. The tech came out and let me know that my $80 fix became a $300 + fix by my looking at it. Since he was there I had him look at the fridge, the ice maker stopped working. He gave me a total bid of $520 to fix everything. He had to order parts so he came back when they were in and fixed the stove in no time then when he got to the fridge it didn't need the part he thought and he fixed it for next to nothing. He could have charged for the part I never would have known the difference. Great honest company that I have no qualms about referring to anyone. read more

Not cheap but less than 1/2 cost of new GE Profile dishwasher. Our microwave also went out recently and Todd looked at it after fixing dishwasher. AMS left me feeling pretty awesome with my experience, which is pretty great after all the disaster repairmen that I've dealt with upon moving to Round Rock. There were some really big positives about AMS. For starters he showed up on time. I love it when people show up when they say they will. I had class right after my time window so it was important. Plus upon figuring out what the problem is he told me the price before fixing it. He was up front in saying it would be $155. He left me feeling completely free to say no, which I appreciated because that is a nice chunk of change. We went on with repair though, and he fixed it quickly. All in all he was there maybe half an hour. I would highly recommend AMS. It took me a week to get the appointment, but it was worth the wait to get a good repairman out to the house that was kind and respectful. read more
