Staff was very friendly however I was very unimpressed with the sushi. We ordered Dragon, Lion King, Baked Scallop Roll and Lambada. They all kinda had the same taste and unfortunately, even with the special sauces on top, there was nothing all that good about them. Went to restaurant with my family for my mother's birthday. We got there at 730 and did not receive or first roll till 9:30... keep in mind, they close at 10. This have us no time to order more when we had paid for ayce sushi. This would have been understandable if the server and management was apologetic but they were extremely rude. Flew in from Tucson for a wedding and saw this 4 out of 5 star rated sushi restaurant. Maybe I'm spoiled after spending 27 years eating sushi in Los Angeles but I wouldn't rated any higher than 3 . It was great, everyone seemed nice. I got my rolls, it was wonderful. I got my last Philadelphia roll and it was very sloppy. The roll did not have any symmetry, so the bite was too big for one, some are small, some was lacking ingredients, it was a basic roll but daymn it was not a pretty roll. $25 all you can eat sushi is unbeatable. The staff is very welcoming and remembers my son's name :) The rolls are excellent with a wide variety of ingredients. Make sure you are able to finish what you order or you will get charged. The restaurant is not very big, so some nights do get crowded but we have never had to wait. My son started eating sushi here when he was less than two years old, and we have been coming back ever since. Love this place! read more

This place has some really fantastic rolls, my favorite being the baked lobster roll. I've been here at least 5 times and every time I've brought a guest they've always told me they've gone back afterwords. I've always gone for the all you can eat deal and it's worth it. The staff is always friendly, the only downfall is that since it is a bit small when it's busy the service does take a little bit longer, but that's to be expected. Dont let the hole in the wall look misguided you, this place has the best sushi I've ever had. Everything is fresh and plumpful. Ate there last night. My friend loves the all you can stuff down your gullet sushi. He acts like it's so painful to eat the last few pieces. I have no complaints with the food. But feel service really sucked. When both people in the party don't order the all u can eat, they don't seem to be capable of Planning when food will arrive at the table. I got the chicken teriyaki box and ONE sushi roll. My food got to the table first, and I finished it all, before the second person in my party got any of his food. I was forced to sit there for another 30-40 minutes while the five sushi rolls trickled to the table. MY time is more valuable than that. They weren't very busy, there were 3 wait staff, and two sushi guys..... It shouldn't have taken so long. They didn't seem to give a damn that I got my good 20 minutes before the second person got anything. TIPS is To Insure Proper service. I got the last say on that, and won't be going back. We drive from Schaumburg just to go there. I'll be spending my time and dollars I little closer to home! read more

She messed up one of my order on purpose... yes she replaced one of my roll with fish into some fried stuff to fill my stomache. I know it is intentional, because that round I've only ordered 3 roles, only the one with fish is swapped. I have never in my life been to a AYCE place this bad for this price... It makes me wanna cry. I can't believe I spend this much money to eat only rolls... jesus! Ive had better sushi on the west coast but for the chicago suburbs this place is my go to spot. The service here is great, they greet you as soon as you step in the door and ALWAY have smiles on their faces. Did I mention they have some great deals? Take out special - pick any 3 rolls for $24 or all you can eat (dine in) for $24. It doesnt get better then that. I stop in for lunch and can have an awesome meal for $10 (beneto box with tea and miso soup!) within my 1hr lunch break.. Went to test out the all you can eat menu... it was a little more pricy then our regular go to sushi place, but over all the food was pretty tasty. The tiger roll was awesome, the shrimp in it was deeeelish!! It was a good chunk of shrimp inside the roll. The all you can eat menu here included a very large selection of rolls which was cool, and you could get soup or salad too. The waitress was extremely friendly and even the owner (manager?) brought some of the food out to the table. For being a small place, with a decent amount of people in there for dinner, all the food came out in a timely manner and we were never without anything the whole time we were there !! This is our favorite place to eat sushi. Even our kids love it! The sushi and rolls are fresh and fabulous. The Miso soup is very tasty. For those that don't care for fish, try the Beef Teriyaki. The beef is super tender and the portion size is ample. We share this dish along with all of the rolls we usually order. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and clean. We've been going to Abashiri for the past 10 years and will continue to frequent this little gem of a restaurant for years to come. read more

I had the Bento Box Lunch Special B. (Tuna Crunch Roll & Chicken Teriyaki) Overall it was very filling. There was Miso soup to start. It was rather salty, but this was the first time I've ever had Miso soup so I can't comment on it. Shortly after out came the Bento Box it was a generous helping of rice (probably 1 to 1.5 cups worth), decent amount of sesame chicken in a thicker teriyaki sauce (probably 4 ounces of chicken), small yet tasteful salad with the vinaigrette dressing not being overly bitter or sweet, and the tuna crunch rolls. While a little pricey for lunch at around $13 overall it was very good option if you're in the mood to spurge without breaking the bank. I would return again. read more

Upon ordering our food, our waitress was really nice; I love sushi but have never been to a sushi restaurant and she helped with the menu. The food is fresh and is served all fancy. At this point, as I've been here for over an hour, i wish I did not have to have a rating for this establishment. With reviews looking promising this seemed like the place to go, however my fiancé and I quite amazed in how awful it actually was. If i could give this place zero stars i absolutely would. The space is crammed and looks like it hasn't been cleaned since it opened, the food is alright at best, but for the price it is absolutely atrocious. $25 for a handful of selections of rolls that are pretty much all filled with cheap imitation crab. They have 3 appetizers you could chose from that was included in the $25 "all you can eat" quotation marks around the all you can eat because they would look at us, and other customers with judgment when more rolls were ordered. It made you feel vastly uncomfortable to even eat there and pay an outrageous amount of money for the way they treated you. The staff seems friendly, yet are quick to talk poorly of their customers in Japanese (spent 4 years in Tokyo for business). Please heed this warning and do not eat at this establishment. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! If you're fan of nigiri and have experienced worthwhile sushi I'd stay far away from this place because nigiri and obviously good food and service are not included in the hefty $25 price tag. read more

Needed a sushi fix late on a weekday and this place was awesome! The staff was super friendly and the sushi was fresh and delicious. The spicy tuna roll had great flavor and lots of kick.
