I told him a number I wanted to stick to and he gave me an option to make it happen. They seemed very honest. We got our flooring thru these guys and they have a zero down 36 month zero interest financing plan. Spike was very helpful in making sure we got the best deal. He was able to price match what sng carpet was offering and gave us a better product then sng was pricing. They even installed our baseboards and delivered them before hand so that they could be painted before being put in. They have the best selection of floor types and designs. They don't start super high on pricing too like empire and sng did. They start with what it costs and then work with you depending on what other companies are offering. They were flexible in scheduling as we had many other projects going on as well. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade your floors! read more

My concerns were validated when I choose to bring in another company. Abby will not and can not correct the issues, but they will deny any responsibility for their terrible craftsmanship. We hired Abbey Flooring in early 2014 to replace the wooden flooring in our entryway and part of of our hallway and also to extend the wood flooring into the dining room and the rest of the hallway which had carpet. Things were fine until 2019 at which time we noticed discoloration of the wood flooring in the dining room and part of the hallway (both of which originally had carpet). American Leak Detection came to our home and found no leaky pipe but there was considerable moisture under the dining room and part of the hallway flooring which were discolored. We contacted Abbey flooring but they told us that the entire floor needed to be replaced and gave us a number of an outside contractor. When the old flooring was pulled up, the contractor stated it was apparent that there was no moisture guard laid in the dining room or part of the hallway. However, there was a black tar based moisture barrier under the areas in the entry way and part of the hallway that originally had hard wood flooring when we bought our home. Needless to say this made us very unhappy. Abbey Flooring failed to do a proper job when they installed the hard wood flooring by not applying any moisture barrier under the wood in our dining room and part of the hallway area which would have been a standard procedure by any qualified contractor. We are very unhappy that we had to now pay $9,000 to replace hard wood flooring purchased from Abbey Flooring five years earlier because a moisture barrier was not properly applied as expected. We contacted Abbey Flooring (Spike) again but had no response. We then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but Abbey Flooring also did not respond to the complaint. Beware of shoddy work and no guarantee. read more

Even though we had a couple of hiccups, great customer service to make it right. Spike helped us the entire time and was very understanding and professional and overall made the hiccup better. Situation was that we bought tile with a Versailles pattern and when we got the tile, our installer placed the design on the floor and informed us that all of the tile that was 8x16 was 1/4" too big. We had Spike come out and confirm and he offered compensation for the error even though it wasn't Abbey Floorings fault but rather the tile manufacturers fault. Tile manufacturer denied wrong doing and Spike fixed the situation. read more

After being told by my floor tile installer I needed an expensive solution to an "unlevel" kitchen floor due to a crack on the floor, Noel from Abbey Flooring Elk Grove quickly pointed out it was not necessary and thus I did not fall for the expensive solution. As it turned out, our tile floor was installed without a problem and without the expensive solution that was offered as my only choice. She was not only friendly but she was just as knowledgeable about the products. Spike, the owner was on vacation but he did our estimate and took down the measurements for our home. My Husband and I chose Abbey's after checking Yelp Reviews and getting several estimates. The Staff was very helpful and scheduled my Carpet to be installed July 17 because I needed it in before end of month. During this whole process I was pretty stressed because my Husband had a medical emergency and was hospitalized, but Spike was very accommodating. On July 17 they showed up on time and carpeted my whole house in 8 hrs. Carpet looks and feels great. We did however have a problem after they left with the carpet trim that separates carpet from laminate flooring. It was not installed properly, carpet was sticking out other side and nails missing causing it to stick up. I contacted Abbey's about problem and they said someone would be out to take care of it. Problem was their installers weren't following through. Anyhow, after almost a month of talking with Spike about it not being done, he was able to step in and get it totally replaced by the installers. It now all looks really great. I just suggest you really check everything before letting installers leave, which I usually do when I have work done, but do to dealing with my Husband's illness I dropped the ball on that. We were in the market for new floors. I went to 4 different places and got 4 bids for wood flooring in our home. After meeting with Spike at Abbey Flooring I knew immediately they were the one. I loved how he was not like a typical salesman. He knew I was getting 4 bids and told me to take my time and if I had any questions to please call him. The other places all tried to say they were the best and called over and over to see if I had made a decision but not Spike. I told him I was looking for high end laminate and he didn't try to pressure me into hard wood and tell me it was better. He took his time and showed me what he had and what he recommended. He told me to take samples home and see how I liked them. After all the bids Abbey wasn't the cheapest but by far the best customer service and best quality laminate. Spike set up everything for me and the installers were there the following week. They were on time and were very professional, clean, and hard working. The installers took pride in their work and asked if I had any special requests or if I wanted the laminate a certain way and suggested how they felt it would look best. When I would leave to go pick up my kids I felt totally at ease with them in my house and when I came home they were funny and nice to my kids letting them be involved in holding boards making them feel special. When they were done with the job I pointed out little things I wanted done and they did them with a smile. When they left they cleaned up everything and made sure I was happy before leaving. Let me start off by saying I had rec'd bids from five contractors to install tile on my kitchen floor. I met Spike initially in the store and he came to my home the next day to look at the job and give me an estimate. While at my home I commented that my kitchen counter tile grout was dirty and I was unsure how to clean it. Spike said to take a Mr. Clean eraser pad and Windex Multi Surface cleaner and it would clean the grout back to its original glory. He demonstrated by doing a few tiles and Voila my tile was gorgeous. I went and bought the products and cleaned all of the grout on my counter tops and then sealed them. After this amazing experience with Spike I knew he was the one I had to go with for my flooring needs and install. The tile I chose was a variation 4 and had 14 different patterns. On the day of the install, Spike came over and helped lay out the tiles in an order so that there would be no repeating tiles. My tile was laid by Mattos and his assistant who then took over and started the process of laying my beautiful tile. My entire job was completed in two days and the finished product was gorgeous. I was thrilled by the outcome and it looked more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. The staff at Abby Flooring and Mattos are incredibly patient and take as much time as needed in the selection process. I could not be more pleased and would recommend the company to anyone. I got my whole house new tile and new laminate floors. I love the floors I just think that for the price we paid the work could of been better. I have noticed a lot of uneven tile and some of the wood work was not cut perfect (I am a bit of a perfectionist). Overall I do love the floors I just wish the little details were finished properly. Also when the floors were done they did not clean them. We called Spike and he gladly came over to clean the floors. I wish they would of took more time cleaning up after themselves as well. We had a leak come through our fireplace and soak the carpet, we had to tear out a large piece of our family room carpet right away. We needed to get new carpet in fast, and after shopping around other places in Elk Grove and got estimates for a week later, we tried Abbey who said they could install the next day! Perhaps we just got super lucky but that is some good customer service if I ever saw it. Spike helped pick out some beautiful carpet, and Camillo came out all by himself and finished within a good 4-5 hours (did 2 rooms!) So happy with the finished product and the service we received. We are very happy with the tile work that was performed We recently had tile work performed on 6 different rooms (family room, hallway, bathroom, laundry room, master bedroom & master bathroom). We went out and obtained a few different estimates for the work to be performed. After reading some of the Yelp reviews we found ourselves heading over to Abby Flooring. Spike was very easy to work with and there was a wide selection of tiles that fit our likes and tastes. One of the things that impressed us with Spike is that he asked various questions and offered up suggestions and options to help with our tile layout. The other estimates that we received felt much more rushed (no questions). During our preliminary discussions Spike indicated that our tile work would most likely be completed in 2 to 3 days compared to the 2 - 3 weeks that the others guys were telling us. The quote from Abby flooring was a little bit higher but still very much within our price range. We have to keep in mind that the end result is something that we will have to live with. We were very will to spend a little more for a quality job. We went ahead and set a date for the tile work to be performed. Francisco and his tile team showed up and put on a clinic for how to install tile. I was very impressed with Francisco and his team. They showed up on time. They are very professional and neat. Francisco was very good about making sure that he understood exactly what needed to be done. He also made sure that all discrepancies or areas of concern were discussed with me before proceeding. I had a very high level of trust that the job was being performed to my level of satisfaction. Another component to our project was that we had 2 different tile layouts (regular & diagonal offset). We had our main family room done with the diagonal offset. This layout takes much more time and requires many more cuts. Francisco and his team were spot on with their cuts and the tile work was completed within the discussed 3 day timeframe. The final product now feels like we have moved into an upgraded house. Overall, we are very happy with the work that was performed and will recommend Abby Flooring to our friends. read more
