We decided to try Abbys as another favorite Yucaipa spot was too busy to clear just 1 of 5 dirty tables....even though there was no one on the floor for the 10 minutes we waited. Let's move on to Abbys....as soon as we walked in a young man greeted us, asked how many, then said he would clear a table right away...which he did. He also dropped off menus while asking us if we'd like anything to drink. Now Abbys has a full house but our friendly waitress was taking our order within 5 minutes. The food came out. Our son had the burger which didn't look prefrozen and said it was pretty good. I ordered the sausage and eggs standard breakfast. The star on my plate were the potatoes.....really well seasoned! Best I've had in quite a while. Their food is pretty average, but the staff is wonderful. Both our son and I said we'd return to try something else. Four stars for the staff!!! read more

Went here for breakfast and was surprised how roomy this place was. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Our waitress was very nice and along with other helpers around did an excellent job with their service. The have an excellent menu of choices to choose from. Today we tried Abby's for the first time for breakfast. The restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. My husband ordered the all meat omelette and asked for the hash browns "to be cooked through" and wheat toast. He loved his breakfast and the hash browns where perfect! I ordered the California omelette with sliced tomatoes, no toast. It was filled with bacon, jack cheese and a good portion of avocado on top. Exceptional service and friendliness here at Abby's cafe. We decided to meet some friends for breakfast and next thing you know we were a group of 8 adults and 13 kids. Yes, 13 kids- all under the age of 10, and most under the age of 4. 5 separate checks, and tons of substitutions on the orders. I kept expecting the level of service to drop, but it never did. Our waitress was joined by two others to keep things moving, our food arrived quickly and was *amazing*, they gave us plenty of attention, and the whole restaurant just kept on ticking as if it was no big deal that this huge party dropped in out of the blue. I am a big breakfast guy. The portions here are great. They make their own corned beef hash its good the flavor is different from the canned stuff. I usually order the meat lovers omelette this thing is packed with every kind of breakfast meat!. Both of us thought the food was good, but not great, until we tried the home made cheesecake. OMG is it good! If you like cheesecake, do not pass up a slice. Overall, the food was much better than many of the coffee shop/diners that are local. The servers were friendly, and parking was easy, on a Sunday. It was a good experience.
