    Pulled Pork Sandwich
    Gabe A.

Definitely the spot to stop by when passing through this area during a day of activities. The pulled pork was definitely the best, while I thought the BBQ chicken could've gone with some more flavor. I liked that the toppings, like onions and apple slaw, were on the side so I could put as little or as much as I like. The seating area outside is nice with several picnic tables to choose from and some nearby shops to check out. Line was 30+ minutes long during a holiday lunchtime.

I stopped by Farm Kitchen at Los Rios Rancho for lunch after an afternoon of apple picking. I tried the Pulled Pork Sandwich and it was a solid choice! The pork was tender and marinated in apple cider with a BBQ sauce drizzle. I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu next time I'm in town!

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to be sure we had the correct hours of operation and instructions to pre-order a couple of their pies. Mandy was great and when we arrived on our pick-up day and time, the pies were ready to go for us, packaged with care and attention for our drive ahead (thanks to Linda as well!). While there, we wandered the grounds and thouroughly enjoyed everything. I always love and appreciate seeing colonial period architecture. Definitely check out Riley's Farm and all their wonderful reenactment and activities for the kiddos, too. Such a great place to visit.

Such a lovely themed restaurant!…read more We had the shepherds pie, corn chowder in a bread bowl, and the Oak Glen strawberry cider. Everything was genuinely so good! Even the complimentary bread was baked fresh and a unique taste- in a good way! The shepherds pie was perfectly seasoning, with the meat flavor carrying through the dish even when I only sampled the mashed potato part. The corn chowder was honestly one of the best soups I've had in my life, it was comforting and filling yet still light, with plenty of veggies (corn, potatoes) throughout- I think it was meant to include celery but maybe they ran out today? But I'm happy mine didn't come with celery haha! The waitress recommended the Oak Glen brand as it was the most popular, and gave us options between the seasonal, the "lighter flavor", and strawberry- we were very happy with the strawberry flavor!! The staff were friendly and so cute staying in character. They greeted & seated us as soon as we stepped in. Brought us waters and a complimentary bread bowl with an abundance of butter (some restaurants barely give any). And our order was delivered within 10-15 minutes They have live music playing throughout. The antique candle lights add to the vibes and aesthetic!

The options in the buffet were sweet potatoes, zucchini, asparagus, mashed potatoes, chicken fettuccine alfredo, bacon brussel sprouts and a cut of steak. All of the items except for the steak were delicious. Everything was well seasoned. My favorites were between the mashed potatoes, fettuccine alfredo or the bacon brussel sprouts. The steak was dry and needed a lot of sauce. It was tender but dry at the same time. I wouldn't recommend ordering that. Everything else was good. We were also served dessert. There were two options: creme brulee and cherry pie. Both were absolutely delicious and weren't too sweet either which is what I enjoyed! Service was excellent. Our servers were attentive and cleared plates out of our way. The restaurant has plenty of seating and has an old ranch vibe to it. A lot of wooden interior. The outside was beautiful and had a big beautiful yard with a nice view of the mountains. A nice spot for a dinner date!

We walked in and asked if it was a dog friendly establishment as we had seen it was. The hostess quickly said "absolutely" and offered us a table on the patio. When we were sat, we were given 2 waters and a water for our puppy. The server was quick to inform us that they had dog menu options as well and talked us through the menu making recommendations. Let's go onto the food. We ordered an appetizer, tempura green beans. The tempura green beans were very flavorful and served with a chipotle ranch. They were extremely delicious, but I personally prefer a less batter and more green beans. We also ordered a clam chowder which was also phenomenal and served with oyster crackers. I ordered a prime rib (not pictured) with Mac n cheese and heirloom carrots. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and served with an au jus and horse radish sauce. The Mac n cheese was served in a cast iron and was very flavorful. The heirloom carrots are a must have, they were tender and seasoned with garlic. My fiancé ordered a steak with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. I did not try the steak, but I did try the brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes which were extremely flavorful and good. For our pup, we ordered a bison burger patty, he had no complaints. Oak glen steak house offers beautiful views. The inside had a dining room and bar and there was a patio outside with several tables and TVs.

The different activities and they way they engage the kids it's nicely done. The jokes are hilarious for the time. The soldier's ration was a great way to give a nice experience to everyone in regards of the limitations. The ration included a small piece of corn bread, a slice of cheese, a piece or jerky maybe about and inch and an Apple. I would recommend you check the weather before coming. In the summer I suggest bringing a hat because the sun gets pretty hot. In the colder months make sure you layer and maybe even bring a beanie and bring closed toe shoes. We couldn't leave without out trying something from the kitchen. We ordered a Family chicken pot pie. Please read the full instructions before baking. I got home and was working simultaneously and I accidentally burned the top. I skipped the part were you brush the top with egg to make it brown. Instead to brown it I put it in the broiler Next time I'll be bringing and apple pie home as well. You can order ahead of time, but they ask for you to order before 11am if you want your order to be ready by the time the programs is over.

Fig and lavender infused (LI) goat cheese pizza was excellent. LI mixed drinks were very good, but the LI beer was a bit of a let down. Sour type beer is fine but lacked any lavender smell or taste. Maybe expecting too much. Advice- Use the washrooms in/by the old hotel lobby, avoid the ones on the side of building with the large Pennants saying 'restrooms.'...they are old hotel rooms with storage boxes all over. Note main food vendors by the music stage area but there are boutique vendors at one side of venue by the hotel, with the LI teas, coffees, ice cream etc. Most sell the same stuff ( teas, jams, olive oils, creams, lotions, nic-nacs, etc). Will go back again.

I'm sure a lot has been said already about HIGHLAND SPRINGS' FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS so I'll try not to bore you with a long and lengthy "this is what you can find here". I will try to give some tips though. - Come early. Yes, even before the lights turn on. This is beneficial for avoiding traffic, getting good parking spots, shorter food lines, shorter bathroom lines. - Get your food first. So you can walk off the calories. Also, because most people eat after an activity when they get hungry... and then the line will be super long. - Get whatever lavender they have. Hot cocoa, Latte... - Reserve a s'mores pit. When it's cold, it's the best. - Take pictures of everything everywhere. We consumed the following and they were GREAT! - Smoked Brisket Poutine - Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl - Lavender Latte - Lavender Hot Chocolate

The last few times we've gone, the service has been extremely slow, even when it didn't seem overly packed, which made the whole experience feel dragged out. The food is still decent, but it's nothing out of this world anymore, just pretty basic compared to how I remember it. That said, my favorite dish is still the skillet with turkey, avocado, and bacon. It's a solid option and probably the one thing that keeps me coming back to give it another shot. They've changed the decor slightly over the years, and there's a nice little gift shop section right as you walk in, which adds some charm and gives it a cozy feel. The staff has always been nice and friendly, so no complaints there. I just wish the overall experience matched how good this place used to be, because it definitely had something special before.
