I called ABC services because my dryer was little loud. It is working fine other than the noise. Alex came and looked at the dryer. He didn't even touch it. He gave an estimate which is $200 above my previous technicians estimate. That sounded unreasonable. I was trying to negotiate because I didn't want to make more calls to find another technician. Alex wanted me to pay $250 in advance to order the parts. No other technician had ever asked me to pay in advance for parts. I tried to tell him that I will pay after the repair is done. I called about my gas oven not working and they were able to schedule an appointment to diagnose the problem on the same day. They found that the igniter had gone bad and they had a replacement with them. Fixed it immediately during the visit and my oven works again! read more

I don't like to give bad reviews, but Yelp prompted me, so here goes...The difference in skill / experience in appliance repair personnel can be dramatic. Some can diagnose to the component level (saving you hundreds of $) and others just tell you to swap a board (even when you have a reasonable diagnosis from a google search). Unfortunately, ABC was of the latter type. I had an oven fail on the morning before a big dinner invite. The quoted around $800 to replace a board on an oven that is over 20 years old (not worth that expense). I called around and found someone who replaced one component ($30+ him time) and was back up and able to welcome our guests. read more

At my mom's house I noticed the furnace was not staying on. The furnace would sound like it was starting, but after about a minute it would shut down. I suspected the thermostat so I bought another one of the same make & model. I swapped out the thermostat and saw no change in symptoms. I then looked for some help on Yelp. I chose ABC Service because they said they could come out that day Sunday. After answering by email I was texted when someone would arrive. Two technicians showed up and started troubleshooting the furnace. I am guessing that within 20 minutes they figured out the source of the problem. Now they needed to get the part, but it was Sunday so they could not get it. They gave me a written quote on what it would cost me. Then gave me an estimate on when it could be fixed depending on when they could obtain the part. I agreed to the time it would take and the cost and put down a deposit payment with my credit card. It turns out they were able to get the part the next day. So on Monday I first received a call from one of the technicians around 2:30 pm. He said they had the part and would be over between 7 - 9 pm. Around 6 pm I received a call and a text that they were on the way and their E.T.A. He asked me if it was ok to come at this time and I indicated that the earlier the better. The two technicians arrived sometime before 6:30 pm. The defective part was removed and replaced with the new part. Then the furnace and A/C were tested by adjusting my thermostat. When everything seemed to be working I got out my credit card and paid the remaining balance. The job was completed a little after 7 pm. I thanked the technicians for showing up early because I wanted to get home. Overall to me it was a professional job. One of the technicians appeared to be very knowledgeable because the replaced part was a controller card and the defective card and replacement card did not seem to be the same part. Connecting wires had to be matched up with the correct connectors. I believe if it wasn't Sunday, when they first came over, they would have fixed the problem in under an hour. read more

I was super bummed when my fridge stopped cooling things down. They made a couple visits to make sure it was working. Even a call late into the evening. I was stoked because I wasn't going to have a bunch of food spoil overnight! Response to our issue with the LG refrigerator was quick. Ray came by that same day to diagnose and showed me that it was the compressor that gave out. The replacement was made a day later even though it's a Sunday. He also changed the board and cleaned out the condenser and other stuff. With labor and parts, the price was very fair. All of the invoicing and payments were done paperless. Communication was mainly through Yelp which was fine by me. Warranty for this fix is set a six months which is also fine. I called ABC service two times, one for the drier repair and second one was for my refrigerator. Honestly, the first guy did an amazing job. he diagnosed the problem quickly and changed the necessary part. i was a happy customer. By having this trust i called again this service for the refrigerator. I think the repair guy had set his mind already that he is not going to do much about it. he came and checked the inside of the fridge, and told me we have to change the control board for the ice maker issue and clean the coil for the overheating. i was ready to do the necessary changes, then he started confusing me.. the control board is out of stock, coil cleaning need nitrogen pump and he cannot move the refrigerator out etc. at the end i asked him what is the solution, he simply says better to change the refrigerator. I had to pay diagnosis charge $80 for nothing. Called another service the next day, they just told me to change the ice maker part and are ready to clean the coil for the heating issue. whom should I blame? the service company for not sending the right person or the repair guy who is not interested to do his job? Requested a quote and received a response in a timely manner. They were able to send a technician out to diagnose my fridge the same day. I am very satisfied with the company service. I had a broken fridge it happened on Saturday evening. I requested a technician via the company website. I received email and text confirmations. Sam, the service person assigned to my call, is professional, prompt, and dedicated to resolving the problem. My initial call was to repair my dishwasher, which had an intermittent leak from the lower left area of the door. Sam, couldn't diagnose the leak, but did repair another plumbing issue related t the dishwasher. Three weeks later, the DW leaked again. Sam returned. Worked with DW for approximately 1.5 hours. Finally, diagnosed the issue, ordered parts. THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR LABOR, AS THE PROBLEM HADN'T BEEN SOLVED ON THE FIRST CALL! Amazing. Our dishwasher showed E4 error code which means some parts are leaking. However we don't see any water on the floor. ABC Service responded quickly (actually they were not my first choice since their reviews are not the highest but Yelp sent out my request to a number of providers to get competitive quotes and I chose them), and can arrange an appointment on the same day. They poured some water out and let the dishwasher work for 20 minutes for testing purpose. The conclusion is no parts are broken, and we just need to avoid overloading the dishwasher. I have a nice GE Profile French Door fridge with freezer on the bottom purchased back in Aug. 2011. It's been a great unit until recently when it started getting warm and wouldn't cool off. I called a few places and ABC Service was the first to respond in about an hour. Soon Vince arrived and was able to assess the situation very quickly determining there was a lot of dirt/dust and cat hair which had gotten sucked into the guts of the unit after removing the back panel. He had to clean the drain line, defrost coil and condenser coil. He spent a good hour and removed a lot of gunk built up over the past 9 years. Although the cost of the repair was pricey ($770), I wasn't prepared to spend upwards of $3,000 for a new unit. The fridge and freezer works great now. No leaking from the freezer anymore and the temperatures are where they're supposed to be--nice and cold. It is even more quiet now since it's not having to work so hard. I would definitely call ABC again first should I ever need their services again. Tried to add a picture twice on my laptop but Yelp keeps messing up and I've had to recreate my review twice now.
