We chose Sargent because they carry more top of the line products that some other stores don't. We weren't anticipating getting anything fancy. We had a budget and figured something in the Maytag or Whirlpool family. No front loaders due to a smaller more narrow laundry room that wouldn't work well with the space itself. The showroom here's nice with a great variety of product. They have metered parking up front and a private, free lot right behind. I came here alone at first to view the product to report back to my mom so she could get an idea of what they had. (remember, I also went to Lowe's, Home Depot and ABC Warehouse which I HATE WITH ALL MY BEING.) The nice salesman didn't make me or my mom feel pressured in anyway and allowed us to decide for ourselves what we wanted to do. He told us the features of each machine and has been doing this for many years. My mom ended up getting a speed queen 7000 because it was the nicest one they have. The salesman said they sell the most of the speed queen 3000 model which is pretty basic. All speed queens cost double what the rest of the models they have on the floor, so I thought it was a bit much, but hey, what mom wants, mom gets, right? I like that they also have electrolux as well which is what I would've gotten but I also wasn't paying. You can order online and have it delivered, so that's a bonus. My coworker ordered her new washer the same week I did from Sargent but out of a different (macomb) location. They upgraded her because they didn't have her whirlpool in stock so they gave her the next model up. Anyway, I digress. The washer was delivered and installed that Monday after my mom purchased it on a Saturday. Everything worked great and their prices are competitive. Also, regarding delivery and take away, we did the math and it sort of works out all the same regardless of where you purchase. These guys might run a few bucks cheaper, but not much. Overall I'm satisfied with it and would return in the future for more viewing of products if needed.

Sales person greeted us and I was worried about the whole sleazy sales guy pitch. But instead our sales person was approachable and no pressure. Told him what we were looking for and we did our research before going in. Confirmed what I read online and he seemed to give solid advice. Printed out the information regarding the washer and dryer and all the fees. Again no pressure. Said they have a ton in stock and whenever we are ready call them up. Purchased over the phone. Delivery was set for a few days later. All moved quickly. Day of the delivery guys gave us a window when they would be there. Friendly and efficient in taking our old appliances and installing our new ones. Value wise, hard to say since the brand we went with doesn't really do deals or anything. But we were happy with the whole experience from sales, to install to enjoying our new appliances!

I couldn't find the item I was looking for, and three different employees all offered to help me, but couldn't find the item either. When they had exhausted all of the places it could be, the store manager agreed to give me the next expensive compressor for the price of the one I came in for. The staff was helpful, considerate and kind. And they did t stop there, they even offered to - and did, air up my flat tire for me so I could get home safely before needing to use the compressor I was buying. I would recommend them again and again.

She showed me pictures and made sure we were getting everything we wanted, and for an amazing price. No way we could have afford all of that if it wasn't for this place. They are extremely reliable and professional which is such a relief compared to some of the reviews from other discount appliance places that had me worried. It's hard to see in the pictures if there are any scratches and dents visible so I'll share incase you're wondering and looking; there's none on any of the visible surfaces in my home, so no one would know. They were able to get me the right ones that the dent or scratch would face a wall no one would see. :) I also love that it's a small family business, they work so hard together and they're really genuine people. Such a nice change from Lowe's that you don't know who to contact or when they're showing up. They communicate the whole way and show up when they say they are.

Make appointments they don't keep, and don't call. --I get it when a business is understaffed with good techs -- but CALL and let the customer, who is waiting and counting on them, to let them know what's up. Respond. I bought my most recent primary refrigerator from them about a year ago in the $500 range. I started calling almost three weeks ago that the temp was in the 60's and I was using the freezer section as a fridge. After multiple calls and messages, they didn't show up until four days ago and said compressor was bad and it wasn't worth fixing -- but they'd take care of me. And then, they didn't get back to me about the options. When I reached them two days ago they said they'd give me another one for ~$550. --Hmm. So, despite that the one I bought should have lasted more than a year -- that's the best they can do for me for a replacement? After making me wait for over two weeks for them to even look at it. And of course, they've promised to call me back 2 x's since this last conversation --and haven't. I even told them that I want to buy a washer and dryer from them over the next month. -- Doesn't make any difference in their interest in helping me out. --I might as well start buying new sale or scratch & dent appliances instead of being treated like this.

I purchased multiple appliances delivered at 09/24/2025 from this shop: a stove, clothes washer, gas dryer, and refrigerator. At first, the owner was very friendly and helpful. However, after I paid and the items were delivered, the service changed. I was told delivery and installation were included with the necessary equipment, but when the delivery arrived, I was charged extra for installation. Shortly after, the refrigerator/freezer stopped working. The owner came and said the motor was not working and replaced it, but the unit still had problems, including water leaking underneath. I sent pictures and he promised he would come back to fix it, but he did not follow through. I went to the shop again and he gave excuses about being sick and having pain, but the repair still was not done. Even though the appliance was supposedly under warranty, I ended up hiring my own technician and paying $150. Based on my experience, I do not recommend buying from this shop. The customer support and warranty service were not reliable.

As rental places go, they aren't the cheapest, but Chet's seems to do a good job of maintaining…read moreequipment. I've never had a rental that didn't work, and their staff is always helpful with advice. Can't say the same for other places I've rented. I mostly deal with them for propane. You get 2-3 lbs more per fill than with a propane exchange, and it's less expensive. What I appreciate most is that I can bring in my tanks for a top off and they charge for what I buy, not a full fill.
