Koji Mont Blanc - What a truly Amazing original secret treasure dessert layered with multiple profound flavor elements!

Fresh, vibrant ambiance elevates the dining experience, complemented by a thoughtfully curated menu featuring a creative variety of dishes across multiple sections. The collection of shareable small plates is beautifully plated, and the attentive service team ensures an exceptional experience from start to finish. We continue to be impressed by how the menu evolves year after year and season after season, always introducing fresh ideas while maintaining outstanding quality. Most notably, the current dessert offerings are elevated, original, and memorable. Chocolate lovers shouldn't miss the Koji Mont Blanc, while those who prefer lighter, fruit-forward desserts will appreciate the Melons--a beautifully presented combination of layered watermelon, ice sorbet, and cream that is as refreshing as it is visually stunning.

Went here for an early dinner - food was pricy but good. The dishes were innovative and had interesting flavors. We especially liked the yam and squash with focaccia. They were severely understaffed when I was there, to the point that multiple people around us cancelled their dishes and opted to leave earlier. However, the manager came over to our table took our order and made sure we were taken care of in a timely manner. She was extremely kind and I greatly appreciated how she stepped in when they did not have a lot of servers. In large part because of their great staff, and also because of the interesting vegetarian options, I would go back.

Food was a little overpriced for the quantity and taste but the quality was good. The corn wontons were spicy and yummy. The hummus was fresh and yummy. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the walnut and mushroom sauce was fine. The chocolate cake was too sweet and not worth it. Vibe was beautiful service was overall good.

Delicious food. Great and friendly service. Super cool and swanky vibe. I left stuffed and happy and would come back to try more! Standouts for me were the dates and the whole roasted cauliflower.

My friend and I had a res on a busy weekend night. Cute spot, really kind servers. The food was OK, honestly not all of it was worth the price in my opinion. We started with the dosa and lettuce cups. They were both OK, nothing to write home about, and the lettuce cups had a really interesting kick. The bolognese was a standout - delicious! And then came dessert. Things went very right and very wrong. The ice cream sundae was delicious and unique - a generous portion that we could've shared. But the apple tart unfortunately did not live up to the same standard. It tasted of salt and water, with no real sweetness despite how delicious it looked (my friend and I both tried it and were unsure if this was how it was supposed to taste or if someone had swapped sugar for salt).

My meal was absolutely delicious, and I really enjoyed the creative vegetarian and vegan options. Artichoke - creamy as the name says, with breadcrumbs to provide a little crunch, and subtle tartness from lemon and freshness from the herbs. The sourdough it's served with has great developed flavor and nice open crumb. The server told me this is seasonal, so get it before it's gone. Steamed tofu - the tofu is just a bit firmer than a pudding, covered with a tart and savory tomato-ey broth. Mushrooms add a bit of textural variety and savoriness. The best parts are the crispy yuba and toasty fried peanuts, which add a crunch and nutty flavor. The cilantro helps brighten everything up as well. Mont Blanc - rich, fluffy, and nutty, without being too sweet. The whole thing kind of explodes after breaking into it because of the hard shell, but that's not a big deal. Easy to forget it's totally vegan. Three courses came out to $94 with tax and tip. While the cost was worth it, I think this would've worked out better coming with a larger group. Splitting four dishes between two people would've reduced the cost a bit and hit the right portion size.

Lovely space, everything can be veganized, and I love how the menu changes with the season. The carrot wontons and chestnut dessert were unreal! The service was also super, Adam was a great server and multiple employees checked in on our table throughout the night

Went back for their brunch and had the dosa with sambal, egg, cheddar cheese, mint, and dill. The dosa was tasty and the texture was good. It was very filling as well. However, it did lack flavor -- it should have been paired with chutney like dosa usually is or had more sambal / Asian spices and flavor. The honey ginger tonic was light and refreshing.

Heard good things about them and came for their vegetarian brunch with my vegan friend. The food was pretty good, especially for american vegetarian fare - nothing was mindblowing to me as someone who eats across the spectrum, but you could tell there were quality ingredients being used and care being taken into the dishes they offered. The cappuccino was just okay (admittedly, as a coffee snob) The pancakes were fluffy, but delicate, and fall apart easily but they tasted light and bright which was enjoyable. The lettuce cups were also tasty, and quite light. Definitely add this to your list if you're a vegetarian, and I hear they have a good dinner service too. For me, it's a place I would take my vegetarian friends. Keep up the good work!

    Beet tartare

abcV has a lovely atmosphere and on a Friday night it wasn't packed, you could likely get seated without a reservation. I tried the sparkling elixir beverage and it wasn't the strongest start. I'd prefer it a bit more sweet and with stronger elements of the fruit flavors. Like many others have mentioned, the price point is pretty steep for what you're getting. They're all small plates in the $20-$35 range with really just a few bites of vegetables. We tried the "crispy smoked chicken of the woods mushroom" which was essentially fried mushroom -- definitely the most "meaty" dish we had that evening. It was well fried with a seasoned crispy exterior, the sauces accompanying it were just fine. The market beets had some of my favorite flavors, they were refreshing and felt like a variety with each bite with the avocado puree and elements of tartare. The dosa was fine but would be superior at most Indian restaurants, it was just a plain dosa with chutneys on the side - no masala filling. The seared tofu was made with a very soft silken tofu and served with roasted mushroom and broccolini. The vegetables felt a bit dry but the tofu was nice. The roasted murasaki yam was delicious, it had savory elements of black and white sesame and was brightened by a squeeze of lime juice. It was a Japanese yam so it was dense, starchy, and slightly sweet; the dish could have maybe benefitted from some more variety in textures. Overall, abcV is one of the nicer vegan restaurants in Manhattan, maybe worth splurging occasionally when the menu rotates. I probably won't be back for a while as it's hard to justify the price point of the dishes, but there really were no bad bites.

Never disappoints. Delicious birthday dinner at the bar. Incredible meal (lettuce wraps and wontons). Paired with a good Pinot noir. Awesome service -- as always.

Came here with high expectations. Don't go to many places at all that are purely plant based. Impressed for what we got in general. It was an assortment of many dishes. Flavors were good but not jumping out at me with full vibrancy. Staff and everyone was nice, as was the service. It was a bit chilly in the city so being inside the restaurant was a nice and cozy break. I don't think I'll go here again just because I'm not too much into plant based dining as this place presents itself and actually is. I feel like I could go elsewhere around the city and get very good dishes that are plant based without going to a strictly plant based restaurant. It was a good change from the types of places that I normally frequent. Company I was with was excellent which made the food that much more comforting.

    Is the patio heated?

Yes! Both the outdoor patio and pergola are heated.

Is there a separate menu for allium-free?

There is not. Most foods are very richly seasoned, but the waiters are usually very knowledgeable about the ingredients and I'm sure they can ask for you in regards to specific dishes.

Are gift cards available? I want to gift a friend a yummy veg-friendly meal!

    yes! they are available

Is there a dress code for dinner?

Thank you very much for the question, We do not have a dress code at AbcV. Please dress as you…

Can the dinner menu items be prepared onion and garlic free?

    Yes

Do they have a menu that shows what is vegan or can be made vegan? The online menu I see on the website just says "vegan options available".

The menu is all vegetarian, not all vegan. I'd say a good 80% of the menu is vegan already and many items can be made vegan.

Does the restaurant take brunch reservations?

    Yes they do!

Is there a place for a stroller?

Yes. The hostess takes your stroller to the back. (Like a coat check). Once I had a folding stroller. Another time I had a large (bugaboo) and they took them and returned once we left.

Is your menu heart healthy or low sodium?

Very healthy menu. Ask waitstaff for lower sodium options. Also on the table they have a Minerals (sea salt). Healthier than processed salt.

    Does this place offer takeout?

Yes! Head to the back, or ask the staff in the front, who are seating diners where to order takeout. A nice option, since it's hard to get reservations here.

Any dress code we should be aware of (for lunch service)? Specifically can I get away with wearing shorts?…

No dress code. Shorts are just fine.

A Hidden Gem That Completely Changed My Perspective on Vegan Food…read more Yesterday was my first visit to Le Botaniste, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. The storefront and fresh drinks first caught my attention, so I thought it was mostly a juice or beverage spot. The moment I walked inside, I realized it was so much more. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and everything looked incredibly fresh. You can immediately tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional customer service from Alan. He welcomed us with a smile, took the time to explain the menu, answered all of our questions, and gave us recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge and enthusiasm made choosing our meals easy. Alan recommended their most popular bowl, the Pasta Bolognese, and mentioned it was also his personal favorite. After just one bite, I understood why. It was rich, hearty, full of flavor, and if no one had told me it was vegan, I never would have guessed. It has officially become one of my favorite plant-based meals. For my mother, Alan recommended the seasonal Mediterranean Bowl, and it was another excellent choice. I asked her if she enjoyed it, and her response was simple: "Yes... and I want more." That pretty much says it all. The drinks were also fresh, refreshing, and paired perfectly with our meals. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their drink menu. Even if you're not vegan, don't let that stop you from trying this place. Le Botaniste proves that plant-based food can be comforting, satisfying, and packed with incredible flavor. A huge thank you to Alan for making our first visit such a memorable one. Great food is important, but great hospitality makes people want to come back. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.

I honestly…read moredid not expect to be this impressed, but this ended up being one of the best burgers I have ever had -- and quite possibly the best burger of my life. I ordered the burger with cheese, and everything about it was perfect. The burger itself was THICK, incredibly juicy, and cooked beautifully. You could immediately tell that the meat was high quality, and knowing that they use Creekstone beef made it even better. The flavor was rich and beefy without being overwhelming, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The patty had that perfect combination of a beautifully cooked exterior while still being extremely juicy and tender inside. And the bread deserves its own paragraph! The brioche-style bun was excellent. It was soft, slightly buttery, and substantial enough to hold the thick patty without falling apart or becoming soggy. It complemented the burger perfectly rather than taking away from the meat. The combination of the juicy Creekstone beef, melted cheese, and that excellent brioche-style bread was honestly phenomenal. What really stood out to me was how substantial the burger was. This wasn't one of those thin burgers where you finish it and immediately feel like you could eat another one. It was thick, hearty, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. Every bite felt like you were getting exactly what you want from a great burger. The fries were also excellent. I really appreciated that they weren't overly fried or greasy. They had a great texture and were crispy without feeling heavy or excessively oily. Sometimes fries can completely overwhelm a meal because they're so fried, but these were much more balanced and paired perfectly with the burger. Overall, Friedman absolutely exceeded my expectations. The burger, especially with the cheese, was outstanding, the Creekstone beef was incredibly flavorful, the brioche-style bun was excellent, and the fries were the perfect accompaniment. If you're in NYC and love burgers, this is a must-go-to. I would absolutely order this burger again and would highly recommend Friedman to anyone looking for a thick, juicy, high-quality burger. The waiter was very friendly, and even though they weren't able to split the check at the table, they did provide an itemized receipt to make figuring it out easy. I came on a weeknight with a reservation, was seated right away, and sat at the bar before a Broadway show. The bartender/server was very nice, attentive, and helpful when I asked for recommendations. I ordered the carrot bisque, scallop paella, and a lavender martini. The food was flavorful, and it was my first time trying hearts of palm. I'm not vegan and eat seafood, so I wasn't expecting the "scallops" to taste like actual seafood. They were made to look like scallops, which was a fun touch, but the texture was different. Overall, the paella was enjoyable and made for a unique dining experience. The lavender martini was interesting, but not for me. It had a floral, citrusy flavor that reminded me a little of perfume or floral soap. It wasn't unbearable. It was just not my personal preference. Service was efficient. Definitely on the pricey side and feels more like a treat, but life is too short to worry too much especially for a nice meal before a Broadway show. Burger ($20) with a gluten-free bun ($2). For the breakfast, the portobello mushrooms were the highlight of the dish. They were very juicy and had strong umami flavor! I love spinach even plain, but I think it could have used a touch more seasoning. The tofu scramble was seasoned, but it could either use more seasoning or more moisture. The corn muffins were dry and crumbly, definitely the worst part of the dish. My friend said that the sauce brought the burger together and hid the fact that it's a Beyond burger. She also mentioned that she didn't feel heavy after eating the burger, which was nice. Despite us telling the restaurant that we had to go to a musical, service was on the slower side. My friend also had to try several times to get to the bathroom, since someone was always inside. However, the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I would only recommend P.S. Amazing food, drinks, service, and ambience. I went around 5:30 pm on a weekday and was seated…read moreright away. While we didn't order too much, everything was delicious and filling. We got the Philadelphia maki roll, spicy mang, and the chicken yakitori skewers (my favorite). The skewers have a tangy sauce that make it so good. The drinks were also unique and beautifully served!

Beyond Sushi was in Midtown near where I was staying, so I ended up coming here---on Valentine's Day, which happened to be a mistake! Since I didn't have a reservation, the lady who checked me in told me I had to find a seat at the bar. Her attitude was not the best, as when I looked over the menu and made a decision on what I wanted to get, she dismissed me when I waved her over, saying she is not the person taking orders. Um, okay? Then who is? One guy at the bar was nicer, and was able to take my order. I started off with a hot tea since NYC was cold in February, and then decided to have as much as I could of two dishes---the "chicken" yakitori skewers and the Korean BBQ skillet. The skewers came in a set of two, with a white mayo-like sauce drizzle and pickled cucumber on the side. Super delectable, though very filling because of the protein! The skillet was made with classic Chunk Foods protein, the go-to plant-based option for all the meat dishes at City Roots restaurants as far as I know. This was incredibly filling, but the sauce and the texture were all around delicious as well. I could NOT bother to finish the brussels sprouts the skillet came with---way too much to stomach, and I was going to focus on the "meats" since I can always have brussels any other time! The bill by the end of it was PRICEY. That's why I only go to one of these restaurants as a special treat when I visit NYC. Watch out if you order hot tea...$13!! I guess that's the NYC way, but still!
