I always enjoy Le botanists. It was a lovely stop on a rainy weekday, the food is healthy and yummy and the ingredients are clear. The staff is friendly and well informed. The space is cozy and perfect for a little catch up with a grind. I really enjoy having the botanical menu option :)

One of my favorite lunch spots in nyc! The food is so fresh and healthy, plus the service is always 10/10. They have a lot of fun plant based options, but I love the DIY bowls. I like to order online for pickup, which is convenient because it's typically ready for me by the time I walk over. Highly recommend! Much better than any of the other fast food spots around the area.

Was walking towards Penn station and wanted to take a quick lunch . Had very less time to catch the train and thought of trying Le Botanise ,.. their menu seemed interesting and as a vegetarian myself, I wanted to try their food . Superb locarion . Very close to Penn station . very nice interiors and lots of tables inside to sit and dine . Service was really good . Was browsing menu and tried spicy chili sin carne .. chili looked really good and fresh . She served a bowl and added brown rice , chili , some beans , turmeric onion ... it looked really awesome .. chili tasted so good . And a little hot . Brown rice was actually dry and wish it was hot and soft . Just ate everything else except the rice . I will still give them a 4 star for their approach to sell plant based food . Very few places like these and wish we see more restaurants like this ... loved their cookies ! So fresh and crispy . good experience overall .. 4 stars

*** 4.5 stars *** This is what the Penn Station area needs! It is a desert of healthy or exciting food options, with most people who work in the area rotating between sweet green, Naya and fresh & easy, all of which I'd say are just passable lunch options. The food here is clean, healthy, and yes vegan, but I'm a meat lover and don't miss the meat at all in their dishes, which are flavorful and fulfilling. They opened today and the workers are all patient and kind, letting us sample a few different things and even giving us a coupon for a free cookie. I got the chili which was fabulous, with a nice spice and great flavor. Will be back.. a lot.

I love this place. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's cute, the ambiance is lovely and the food is delicious. This is such a unique place. I decided to give it a try and ended up going back 3 times/days in a row. It's so flavorful and I love knowing everything is healthy and made with clean vegan food. My go to is the coconut curry and the coconut ceviche but really can't go wrong here .

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

I finally went with the Botanical Salad, and it was AMAZING. Fresh, flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I was hoping for. Everything on the menu looked comforting and delicious while still being plant-based and health-conscious. Even though the line was busy, the staff was genuinely friendly. The presentation of the food was beautiful, and it was absolutely delicious every single dish.!! I had two Modelo beers, we had an order of vegan crabcakes with tartar sauce. Beyond Sushi was in Midtown near where I was staying, so I ended up coming here---on Valentine's Day, which happened to be a mistake! Since I didn't have a reservation, the lady who checked me in told me I had to find a seat at the bar. Her attitude was not the best, as when I looked over the menu and made a decision on what I wanted to get, she dismissed me when I waved her over, saying she is not the person taking orders. Um, okay? Then who is? One guy at the bar was nicer, and was able to take my order. I started off with a hot tea since NYC was cold in February, and then decided to have as much as I could of two dishes---the "chicken" yakitori skewers and the Korean BBQ skillet. The skewers came in a set of two, with a white mayo-like sauce drizzle and pickled cucumber on the side. Super delectable, though very filling because of the protein! The skillet was made with classic Chunk Foods protein, the go-to plant-based option for all the meat dishes at City Roots restaurants as far as I know. This was incredibly filling, but the sauce and the texture were all around delicious as well. I could NOT bother to finish the brussels sprouts the skillet came with---way too much to stomach, and I was going to focus on the "meats" since I can always have brussels any other time! The bill by the end of it was PRICEY. That's why I only go to one of these restaurants as a special treat when I visit NYC. Watch out if you order hot tea...$13!! I guess that's the NYC way, but still!

The servers kept things moving but with very minimal interference and no extra visits; we would have liked a little more attention when we finished some of the banchan and kind of expected they would be replenished, but we certainly were fine without it. And the entrees were delicious and even with other tables almost on top of each other it never felt crowded due to partitions that I saw them remove for some larger groups needing tables "together", and I never felt part of someone else's dinner convo. Presentation was amazing and food was delicious - Soon Tofu Soup with seafood for me, which arrived bubbling like a cauldron. It came with a raw egg that you crack into the soup and let it cook to your level of doneness. Hubs got hot stone bibimbap and as we all know the crispy rice is the best part of it... it's just tough to separate it from the actual stone dish so you can eat it, especially if you wait until it cools and fuses. If I was there with more stomach space I wanted to try the galbi, and in fact there's a weekday lunch combo that could facilitate that.

This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.
