Large bowls of pasta cooked perfectly accompanied by garlic bread. Happened to run out of lasagna this night. The salads are crisp and fresh with homemade croutons. Chicken parm is perfectly prepared on top of pasta. A nice meal and a great add to the downtown area. The dinning area is already planning to expand at this newly opened eatery. They have a nice dessert case with cheesecake and canolli options. Very good meal and they take reservations. Glad to see this open with such good service, food and desserts. At this time there was no alcoholic beverages.

    Delicious cheesecake and Alfredo!

The Steak and Shrimp Alfredo was delicious, garlic bread and cherry cheesecake yummy! The atmosphere was cozy and the service was quick. Definitely need a reservation.

I selected this - and then in the special instructions sections I specified "if olives are canned black olives please leave them off". Enter the most delicious looking pizza covered in run of the mill black olives. So I returned to the checkout and questioned "what kind of olives are these". The check out clerk said "he said they were from a jar not a can" I pressed, as I've just paid $33 for a pizza. The cook came out of the kitchen to argue with me that jarred olives are not canned olives. I said, "That's a pretty ignorant thing to say." (I suppose he has never canned anything in his life.) He became highly offended and yelled "did you just call me ignorant" - to which I said "It is ignorance not to know that jarred olives are the same as canned olives." Solution options: The menu could be specific (green, kalamata, black, etc.) He could have compensated me for the incorrect pizza. He could have offered to make the pizza again. He could have been calm and apologetic at the beginning of the transaction. None of these options were on the table. It's a shame, since the pizza was delicious. But half my family cannot eat black olives. So, I wonder - do you think that a cook of a pizza joint founded on "recovery principles" that stamps bible verses all over their boxes loses their cool, and follows you out of the building - - do you think that you'd go back no matter how good the pizza was? I'm still not sure. The New Albanian Pizza and Public House is a bit of a drive from Corydon, but it's better and the servers have never one time argued with me. Evidentiary photos provided. Good luck, Fat Dough.

I love a thick crust, but because of the thickness of the crust and trying to get it cooked through, the outside ends up very burnt, and the "cheesy breadsticks" barely had any cheese, and weren't particularly tasty. When your five year old doesn't want to eat pizza, you know you've gone amiss. The concept is great, and I appreciated the thoughtfulness in pairing of ingredients, but the ratio of cheese/sauce/dough was off for me, and even as someone who likes a little carbon, it was far too burnt to enjoy. I would give it another chance, but every picture I see, the pizza looks the same, and that's a hard pass.

Grassa Gramma has a Monday night special. $22 for a specific entree, salad & a glass of wine. If you don't have reservations, you probably won't get seated. But knowing the expected crowd, there's really no reason to be short staffed. The table seated next to us, already ordered prior to us arriving, was served after us. Our service wasn't so severe, but we had some difficulty snagging a server for salt & pepper, or, even a water refill. What really dinged the experience, was a small cup of salad dressing slipped off the table and hit the floor. It was never cleaned up. We had pointed it out to our server, food runner, and the busboy. Not one of them bothered to clean up the mess. Grassa Gramma can be an elevating experience. Superior food, service and ambience. Tonight, they had a few missteps. But it didn't stop us from enjoying our dinner.

The pretzel bun was heated appropriately and had the right amount of flavor. The optional spicy mustard is really powerful. My only possible complaint would be that the spatzle were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps overcooked. That said, the spatzle also come with an incredible sauerbraten gravy. Atmosphere is fun, it really embraces the German decor (saw a review or too calling it kitschy, in a good way, which I think is a fair description). Service is friendly and attentive (and in the costumed German garb to keep with the themes). Lots of classic German dishes (several schnitzel varieties, brats, spatzel, etc.). I won't say anything I've had over the years blows me away, but haven't had a bad choice either. The Wiener schnitzel I had most recently was tender and tasty, with a perfectly fried batter, and the German fries were nicely crisped on the exterior and beautifully seasoned. Good beer selection (including some brewed for the restaurant), reasonable wine list...love that you can go all out and have your beer in the classic giant boot! Small gift shop as well, some souvenir items as well as some candies and food options.
