Great experience for my daughter's rehearsal dinner! We had about 30 people and the service was friendly and the food was delicious. The restaurant was quaint and Mimo and Antonella were very helpful. If you want a cozy vibe and yummy Italian food, Mimo's is a great place for events.

How lucky we are to have a true Italian restaurant with amazing food you can only get in Italy. We come here weekly. There's nothing that is not delicious. The only problem is you are forever disappointed at all other Italian places and believe me we've tried them all. Mimo and his wife run the kitchen and do not disappoint!!! And if you're lucky enough to be there on a night when the homemade lemon cake is there get 2!!!

Let me start by saying the food is decent and the service okay, however, the portions were ridiculously small. I ordered the chicken pictatta and it was a thin piece of chicken and about 4 forks of pasta. I shared with my 9 year old daughter which incurred a $10 charge, my initial plate looked like a "split" plate. We could have ordered her a whole plate for the charge, which I would understand if the portions made sense. If you were planning on fulfilling meal, go somewhere else. I wish I had pictures of each of our meals- not one was a full plate. So disappointed with our local spot tonight. Not worth the money. Stick to Amore where the service, quality, and portions are top tier.

Mom and Pop ran Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. New York style pizza freshly made. Great service and freshly made Italian dishes. Nice ambiance with white tablecloths. Beer and wine only. Highly recommend. Take out orders are also available with delivery too.

Greatest New York Style pizza in Kentuckiana area. I'm from Columbus, Ohio and have lived in the Louisville area since 2016. I have been looking for a good pizzeria for years and pretty much gave up until I found Mimo's. The pizza dough is crisp, the cheese is cooked just right, very little flop, and it isn't very greasy. Try it out!

All about the food....delicious! My husband and I (family and friends) have visited this place over the last couple months many times. The alla vodka, pesto, seafood pasta, and pizza are all excellent! I had gotten the chicken parm 2-3 times and it was delicious, but on one occasion with the whole family, it didn't taste quite right (not sure what happened, may have frazzled the owner a little with our big group.) The complimentary garlic knots and marinara are delicious! The sauce is rich and tasty. The pizza is NY style, crispy, fold-in-half, fantastic. He has roll-ups that are good too with what ever topping you want, rolled up in a little pizza dough...have had the pepperoni and sausage. Great for lunch or an appetizer. We tried the Sicilian pizza once, it was fine, but not like my grandmother's. Now the place and the service...not great. The service is always hit or miss. The young girl, maybe Mimi's granddaughter, seems very sweet, but just not a good waitress. In the summer, the place is a little warmer than I'd like, but I think the pizza oven over powers his wall/ceiling A/C units. Now once Mimo sees you face 2-3 times, he always seems to remember you and becomes much more friendly. Just don't expect great, customer service

Today, thanks to our friends at Mariposa, we discovered a little jewel of an Italian restaurant, hidden in a strip mall on State Street towards the Knobs. The white tablecloths and intoxicating smell told us we were in for a treat. My friend and I both had pizzas for lunch that were right off the streets of Rome.... Thin, crispy, with homemade sauce and a very good selection of toppings including artichokes, eggplant and anchovies as well as the typical sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms etc. I hope people find Mimo's and patronize...it would be a loss.

I've been searching for my favorite pizza joint for 5 years now since I moved from Indy. I've finally found it! Perfectly cooked in a brick oven. The crust was a little burnt, which is my favorite. I got just pepperoni and garlic. Usually I order light on the sauce because I'm so picky, I forgot to do that this time and I'm glad I did. What an amazing flavorful and perfect pizza sauce. Can't wait to try many more pizzas!!! Keep up the good work Mimos! -Dustin

I went to this restaurant years ago and got the pasta. I don't really remember if I liked it or not. I have been seeing people saying they have a good NY style pizza so I had to give it a try. Now I have found my favorite pizza on this side of the river if not in the metro area. This is probably the closest I've had to the pies I have had in NYC and I will now be a regular. Apologies to my wife for the extra pounds that are coming in the future! The only thing that would make this pizza better is if it'd be from a coal fired oven, but that's just preference. This stuff is great as is!

    Bruschetta - phenomenal wow!

We went for Valentine's Day. The food was delicious, especially the bruschetta. I loved it. It was a good experience other than being way too warm. They said they turned on the air but the temp just stayed the same.

We just went to the Jeffersonville location with family. We had our reservations because of the last experience, but were willing to give it another try based on their recommendation. We were pleasantly surprised. The location is lovely with the view of the river, and the outdoor seating is a nice touch. This could definitely be a romantic spot for an evening dinner. We went in the afternoon and called ahead to make reservations for a party of 12, including children. They accommodated us just fine and were very gracious. The service was excellent, the wait staff had a polite, friendly manner, and kept everything flowing perfectly. We all enjoyed our food. One of the best dishes was the House Special, which was ordered with meatballs. The vodka sauce was tasty. I would say parking and handicap access would be the challenges that I observed. We utilized street parking. There were two small sets of stairs going up to the entrance.

As a previous reviewer mentioned - parking and handicap access are challenges the restaurant will need to address. Since we arrived for an early dinner - parking was not an issue for us . . . we utilized street parking right in front of the restaurant. There are two short sets of stairs to enter the restaurant itself - I did not see a ramp for handicap access. Once we entered the restaurant, we were given the choice of a small table downstairs or dining upstairs. We elected upstairs since the dining area downstairs (which is very small) was packed with a large group and only the small table was available. To reach the dining area upstairs you must climb a long staircase. I would recommend if you are challenged with stairs - make a reservation for the dining area on the first floor. Just remember you must climb a small set of stairs to get into the restaurant itself. Once we were seated, we did have to ask for the AC to be turned on - it was very stuffy. There were two of us - each ordering drinks, salads and entrees. Our waiter was excellent and handled the AC request, drinks refills, check-ins all superbly. The food was okay - not the quality I would anticipate for the price. The best description for the food would be bland - the amount of food is fine - it's just bland. The cost for two - $75 not including tip.

We all drank water, soda or tea and they kept our glasses filled. We ordered the pork chop dinner that came with risotto and vegetables. My husband loved the veggies and risotto but was not thrilled with the chop. He wishes he would have asked for a steak knife as it was difficult to cut with the butter knife provided. It was tender enough but neither of us cared for the flavor. I had the Primavera. It was a bit bland. I had to salt it several times. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. We had a piece of lemoncello cake that was flavorful, creamy and light. We both thought it was great. We had about $20 left on our gift card and were disappointed we couldn't use the balance as the tip. So we ordered two more desserts to bring home to use the balance of the gift card. We brought homemade a piece of Italian cream cake that was as good or better than the lemoncello cake and it was a huge piece of cake. We also have a piece of caramel sea salt cheesecake which was pretty good. It was loud in the small space and a bit difficult to have a conversation across the table. The background music did not help with this issue. The staff were friendly and helpful boxing up our leftovers. Tables have white cloth tablecloths and the owner was making rounds to greet all the patrons which was nice. We discovered there is parking in the back of the restaurant, as so many of the spaces in the area have signs indicating you will be towed if you park there. We had to park on the street about a block down.

The pasta was properly cooked, the sauce was good, but not much better than a jar off the shelf. The veal, breaded & fried was overcooked - thus very chewy. I ordered a side Caesar salad. I chose baked spaghetti w/meatballs; lasagna & meat ravioli. The raviolis were inconsistent. Some were good, but most had dough that I found undercooked and "pasty". The lasagna was good, although buried under the same sauce as the spaghetti. Hard to tell where one dish ended and the other began. Honestly, the hit of the meal was the meatball. Absolutely delicious. A huge breakdown was the gluten free spaghetti & meatballs I ordered to bring home to my wife. The pasta was actually rigatoni. It was severely undercooked. And a $3.99 upcharge? I could buy an entire box of pasta for $3.99. And after specifically ordering gluten free pasta, the "To-go" dinner came with regular "garlic bread". Oops. Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam

Of course, this Italian feast needed wine worthy of the gods--Chianti, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc all played their parts beautifully, like the perfect musical trio backing an epic food opera. If you want authentic flavors, a staff that treats you like family, and the kind of meal that makes you want to book a one-way ticket to Italy (or at least come back here next weekend), di Fabio Casapela is your new happy place. Mangia, mangia!
