I've been wanting to try this spot and came here for DineLA. The truffle mandu and yellowtail kimbap was so good, and the meats are all excellent quality, but they are lacking a little in flavor. The banchan was also okay, they were missing a lot of the hits for me. The soybean paste soup finisher was so good though, really great flavor. Service is amazing here, they cook the meats to perfection, here super polite and prompt. The interior is also a nice moody vibe!

ABSteak saved our evening with a fantastic meal after we had a disappointing one at another restaurant nearby. We were able to get a seat on a Sunday evening without reservation. The interior of this place is dark, but modern and sleek. Service was wonderful all around, from the moment we walked in where we were greeted immediately, to our server introducing himself, reviewing the menu and getting our beverage order started. Of note, it was cool to see the large cuts of meat through the window into their kitchen/fridge storage area. We tried the following... 1. Appetizer Dishes (aka Korean Banchan) (5/5) All of the complimentary side dishes (cucumber salad, kimchi, broccoli, pickled carrots bean sprouts, radish and salad) were all fresh, seasoned well and delightful as palate cleansers. The dressing for the salad was slightly sweat and tangy. 2. Yukkhea Korean Beef Tartare (5/5) My 1st time trying Wagyu beef tartare and it surely did not disappoint. The presentation of this dish was nifty. It's served with a bunch of side ingredients in its own small respective slots (garlic chip, pine nuts, inions, bell pepper, sesame oil, Korean pear, sesame seed, wasabi and a quail egg). Our server did a mini mixing show in front of us to combine all the ingredients with the tartare. The tartare was super fresh and tender. The side ingredients gave it a rich garlicky sesame flavor. The quail egg added creaminess. 3. AB Pizza (5/5) Another unique dish that I have never tried before. This pizza is not baked, but instead, consists of thinly sliced raw wagyu beef served on top of a thin crispy tortilla shell, then lightly drizzled with truffle oil. It was pleasantly truffle-y, and super fun to eat. The wagyu meat was again, super fresh and it easily pulled apart with each bite. I especially liked how they laid the meat out on the tortilla pie shell base ... it was so perfectly and neatly laid out. The tortilla itself reminds me of eating those garlic pita chip snacks. It was light, yet super crunchy. 4. A5 NY Striploin (5/5) Supposedly from Kagoshima Prefecture - a 6oz cut of super fatty, juice, and truly, melt -in-your mouth wagyu beef. It was just like the ones I've tasted in Japan. Top it with a bit of their special garlic bean sauce and a dash of salt, it's something your tastebuds will be craving for weeks and months to come. Please note, this is very fatty, so if you aren't a fan of fatty meats, then go with a different cut. They will grill the meat in front of you to your desired preference and once it is done, they will cut it up and put it on a mini grill looking thing that is heated with a mini candle to keep your meat warm without cooking it further. We will definitely be back to try out their other dishes and meat cuts. We especially want to experience the "Han-Sang," which means a bountiful table filled with a variety of dishes embodying the essence of traditional Korean dining experience. It entails side dishes (Banchan), salad, egg soufflé, caviar truffle toast, vegetable wraps, choice of spicy tofu or dwenjang, Korean nutritious rice, chef's selects cuts with Wagyu & USDA Prime, and choice of ice cream ($85/person and each person must participate in this).

Was totally unfamiliar with this place, and pleasantly surprised by the QUALITY of this KBBQ. This is Beverly Hills, attached to the Beverly Center Mall after all. Before all you males with bottomless stomachs get your hopes up, this is not an all-you-can-eat place. Came with 2 other guy friends, and only 1 wasn't feelin it (he isn't really into seafood or Asian style side dishes of vegetables, and he's pretty tall dude with a larger than average appetite). My other friend got curious since supposedly the Instagram Korean-American couple duo of POV_husband has basically eaten at every high-end Korean BBQ spot in the LA area, and the husband may have said that, if money were no object, he would be a serious #1 pick regular at ABSteak. For now, I can't say I disagree. Every ingredient, everything served down to just a sprout or garnish, is of exceptional quality and flavor. But at the same time, you really do have to have a palate for hansik/Korean cuisine. Like a Stanley Kubrick film in KBBQ form, every ingredient, every element placed and served to you is intentionally put there and treated with respect. It's a very cohesive experience, from the initial salad of hamachi and scallops, to all the unique banchan (I really loved the pumpkin dish!). Everything served at your table is purposeful, so it'd be a true pity to not enjoy it all in entirety. I was very contently stuffed by the time we got to the dessert of yuzu sorbet. The chocolate fondant topped with ice cream and white chocolate has been among the best molten lava cakes in recent memory; a textbook perfect classic made of the finest everything, with just a flare of modern gastronomy to differentiate it. You will easily spend over $100/person, for set meals. We also added on the dry-aged ribeye for our set. Our lovely waitress grilled every piece of meat with absolute mastery and timing. As you can see from photos, some cuts get grilled with different touches like a bundle of rosemary. Each grilling, from the kalbi to the ribeye expresses their true nuance in flavor. We debated on whether to go with marbled wagyu or the dry-aged cut to add-on. Our lone friend, while usually a ribeye guy, didn't like the chewier texture of the dry-aged cut. Personally, I really savored it's unique, sophisticated taste, even if it is tougher to bite into since the meat is "dryer" after all. Just some things to think about when choosing which sets and which meats to try. Very luxurious. If you're into quality over quantity. Great date place, but I wouldn't recommend it to most of my guy friends, knowing how they prefer to eat.

Highly recommend ABSteak! Went for dinner Friday night and we enjoyed it so much we went back a week later with a couple of our friends. ABSteak is a high end K barbecue that elevates Korean cuisine without losing the authentic flavors and staying true to what makes Korean food great. You can tell whether Korean restaurant is good or bad by their banchan, and this place delivers. All the banchan is balanced well, without being too salty or acidic, and of course, kimchi is delicious (their green onion kimchi was the best I've had anywhere). Decor- upscale and modern. Located in Beverly Center, entrance is off the street. Service- excellent! All the staff is great, and the manager, Steven, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Meat- we had the wagyu ribeye (my favorite), their aged ssamjang ribeye, unmarinated galbi, and pork jowls. All the meat was excellent, and the staff cooks it perfectly. They will cook it on the grill and transfer it to a mini tabletop grill that will keep the meat warm. Food- in general, everything is excellent. I LOVE their steamed egg, and the yukhwe (beef tartar) is presented beautifully with lots of garnishes that is mixed table side. I have to also add that their kimchi fried rice is delicious! My favorite item is their cold noodles-Pyongyang naengmyun. Not sure if it is always on the menu, but It is really hard to find a restaurant that makes this dish in LA, and well... if you know, you know. People either hate this dish or love it, and I love it. If you have had it in Korea and wonder where you can have it in LA, try ABSteak. If you've never had it and want to try it, keep in mind that it is a bit of an acquired taste and may taste very bland at first (hence it is a dish that isn't loved by everyone). Two thumbs up from me and my husband, we loved our dinners at ABSteak and we will be back soon. You can tell every item is made with a lot of care and dedication, worth the price for sure.

A pretty good meal! We were easily able to make a res for 2 on a Sunday night. The restaurant was actually extremely empty when we were there. We both ordered the set menu for $85. The meat was especially high quality and rich without being too fatty. The set menu comes with tofu stew, steamed egg, 3 cuts of meat, rice and vanilla ice cream. Next time, I'd probably order à la carte since the appetizers and dessert were nothing special. You can park right in the Beverly Center. Next to the restaurant valet there's self-park for $2.

    Steak tartare presentation - beautiful!

Spotlessly clean inside, hostess was very sweet and let us sit down a bit early. Superb korean steak tartare, and very accommodating service. We will return!

Went to ABSteak on Christmas Eve (special occasion)--it's still great and worth it. Second visit. Service was excellent with expert table side preparation of their high quality meats. I guess I'm boring or know what I like. Reordered chadul wagyu brisket and marinated galbi. Flavor is amazing. The dip is ponzu based--tart and complements the beef well. A trio of seasonings comes with your meal--barley, wasabi, or plain salt. Simple yet brilliant. The barley and single garlic chip on a slice of aged brisket is literally heaven. Tried mushroom fries this time and highly recommend it. Also dined on kim chee fried rice with brisket (can you design a more flavored starch dish??). Egg soufflé was repeated and appreciated. Tried kim chi jigae this time as well (comfort food. Good appetizer but don't fill up). From the second you walk in, you know you are in a classy restaurant. Great for a special occasion or if you just want to splurge.

It was our first time going to AB steak. It's been on my list of places to try and I'm so glad we did. The food was delicious and you can tell that it's good quality meat. The service was great too and all the servers were attentive. It's not an all you can eat k-bbq but we did the "Han-Sang" and it was more than enough food for the four of us. The ambiance was really nice too. Definitely more upscale Korean bbq. We would definitely come back again.

Celebrated a birthday dinner here and it was a great experience. The restaurant is cozy and intimate, and the service was outstanding. We ordered the chadol, whisky-aged rib eye, and marinated galbi--each cut of meat was top quality. We also tried the beef tartare, A5 wagyu pizza, and kimchi fried rice with pork belly. The tartare and fried rice were my absolute favorites--so rich and flavorful. The little details like samjang, flaky sea salt, and fresh wasabi really brought back memories of dining in Korea. Can't wait to come back!

Over priced for the quality of meat served. You can get better service going to a bbq spot in Ktown. Servers seem to be rushing through everything.

A fancy Korean BBQ located on the 1st floor of the Beverly Center. Very good meat quality grilled right in front of you. Service was exceptional as well. Must try the egg soufflé! Very well ventilated so you won't smell like BBQ when you leave. There is valet parking on the 1st floor adjacent to the restaurant or you can park at the Beverly Center.

Hands down the best kbbq in all of LA if you're willing to pay the premium. I was afraid it won't live up to it from my previous premium kbbq places, but I left with full satisfaction. The highest quality meat I've ever had at a kbbq and it just melts in your mouth. We ordered 4 different premium meats and other sides and ended up taking it to go, so for a party of two I recommend 2-3 meats and an extra item. Our bill came out to $455 for 2 with tip, but like I said, we ordered a lot as well as a bottle of soju and a cocktail. It may seem a lot, but it wasn't spent at a lower tier ayce kbbq in ktown. You won't be disappointed! Staff were nice and attentive and the inside was cozy and felt comfortable. There's a valet parking for $7, but you can park around the corner at the mall for $2-3 and walk 2 mins. With that said, I highly recommend.

Every Filipino swears their food is better at home and I'm sure it may be, but we need to appreciate places like this that put our cuisine out there and make it this good! I never thought to eat bibinka with savory foods because it's normally a dessert to me, but it is definitely the icing! All the meats were definitely tasty, but the star that made these proteins pop was the vinegar! Such a nice option when you want something a little different without going across town. We ordered the coconut beef adobo, pork ribs, and the cornbread bibingka. The coconut beef adobo was definitely the standout for me. It kind of reminded me of Bicol express with a slight tanginess. Super flavorful and really good with steamed rice. The pork ribs were not your typical saucy, sweet, fall off the bone type. These were more dry style with a bark that can be a little tough, but the meat itself was still juicy underneath. The cornbread bibingka was also really good. It felt like the perfect mix of classic cornbread and bibingka, slightly sweet and soft, and the sugar on top was a nice touch. Portions were solid too. My husband and I had enough leftovers for the next day. Overall, really glad we finally got to try it, and we would definitely love to try more of their dishes someday.

The food was pretty good, the brisket was on the drier side but the ribs were delicious. The mac and cheese looked amazing but unfortunately tasted watered down. Cornbread was amazing (or so I heard, I didn't eat it myself). Overall, I'd come again if I'm in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I usually go with the Angus beef rib (soy tare) and toro beef (soy tare), and the combo comes with rice, salad, and miso soup. At $15.95 (before tax), it's a great value for two meat options. Another thing I like -- though it might not be for everyone -- is that you get to cook your own meat. I prefer my meat done a certain way, so it's nice having that control, and everyone can cook it to their own preference. One downside is that service can be slow during lunch hours, as they often seem understaffed.

The place is somewhat small but does still fit a good number of people inbetween various booth and table sizes filled with grills in them. The staff were very quick and efficient and the food was pretty good overall. I got the beyond beef bowl as a combo. I do wish they let us know about the included miso soup wasn't vegetarian at first because I had to switch it for the seaweed salad later but at least the staff were very accommodating. I guess the negative would be is it felt like a "rushed" experience and the food didn't blow me away. But compared to everything with roast costs, I still think it's pretty decent and they have a good "happy hour".

Back in the day, you had to get there early because the place STAYED PACKED, and their ribs were THEE reason to go. They were hands down some of the best ribs I ever had as a kid. They put me on. Fast forward 15-20 years later, and today was my first time coming back since my teenage years. I tried calling ahead to place an order, but couldn't get through. Honestly, that didn't surprise me because Woody's was always busy. I figured it was still the same old Woody's. Then I pulled into the parking lot around 6 PM on a Thursday. Immediately, there was parking available. That alone felt odd. No line. Plenty of parking. Not a single customer inside. That should have been my first sign. We ordered beef ribs, sliced brisket, mac and cheese, and dessert. They were out of the banana pudding, so we settled for peach cobbler. The total was around $50, which isn't bad for dinner for two. The excitement really started to hit when we got home and opened everything up. Unfortunately, that's when reality set in. The mac and cheese was terrible. Completely flavorless, watery, and mushy. The pasta was so overcooked it practically fell apart and blended together like baby food. It tasted old and had absolutely no seasoning or richness whatsoever. First and last time ordering that. Next was the brisket. The slices were gray, dry, and looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I took one bite and immediately said, "Absolutely not." Another disappointment. But I wasn't too worried yet because I came for one thing: THE RIBS. The flavor was actually still there. The sauce and seasoning reminded me of the Woody's I remembered. BUT THE TEXTURE... A completely different story. The ribs weren't tender, weren't juicy, and definitely weren't falling off the bone. They were tough enough that I found myself working for every bite. At that point, the empty parking lot, empty dining room, and lack of lines made a lot more sense. By the end of the meal, I ended up rinsing the remaining ribs off so my dog could enjoy them as a chew toy. What hurts most isn't the bad meal--it's seeing what was once a legendary BBQ spot become a shadow of what it used to be. I almost wish I hadn't come back because it tarnished some really great childhood memories for me. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also believe in being honest. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but based on this experience, Woody's is not the Woody's I remember, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. If it's any consolation, the cobbler was okay. But not worth going out of my way for.

Got here probably 20 minutes before opening on a Saturday and the line was already decently long. But it goes pretty quickly, was able to order within 20 minutes once it opened at 11 am. Obviously being my first visit here, had to unload the clip! Got 1 lb Brisket (Moist), 1 lb Pork Ribs, 1/4 lb Pulled Pork, both the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Poblano Queso Oaxaca Sausage, 1/4 lb Turkey Breast, a whole Beef Rib for meats. All the meats were so good. Top picks are the brisket, beef rib, and surprisingly the turkey. But honestly, everything was at minimum above average. I'd rate all of these meats against some of the best spots I've been to in Texas. Also got Texas Chili, Red Potato Salad, Mac N Cheese, and Pork Belly Kimchi Fried Rice for sides. I gotta say, these sides really remind me of some of the top places I've been to in Texas. I don't think there is a better place in L.A. when it comes to sides at a BBQ joint. Of course, we also couldn't come here and not get the Thicc Burger! The patty is thick (I mean, obviously), the meat is cooked perfectly medium rare, and the seasoning is on point. You can just tell the quality of this meat on the first bite. I can see why people come just for the burger! Staff here are super friendly! They were really nice at the counter and let us take our time to throw down our massive order. And they were also made sure we were taken care of after delivering our food. Lastly, we even got a nice tour of the smokers! Just a great overall experience here. The place is also way bigger than I thought. Lots of seats inside and outside. I mean yeah of course it will get busy, but I can imagine it helps with the line. Overall, Moo's Craft Barbecue really really impressed me. Loved everything about this place. Definitely need to come back soon!
