Thouroghly enjoyed our meal at Abu Kabab, previously known as "U Pick It". I had the chicken breast with rice(so good!) and humus and tabouli. It was made to order so it was fresh and hot. My only complaint was that the pita was not warm. I should have asked to have it heated. That's on me. Very good and friendly service. read more

We recently picked up some of their sides for a small dinner party we were hosting. Honestly, the sides stole the show. We've had Fatoush salad before from other restaurants, but none of them compare to Abu Kababs. The pita is fried to perfection and doesn't get soggy at all in the salad. There's something special about the dressing too, it's not like any of the other similar salads I've tried. It definitely has a unique quality. I just found Abu Kabob a few weeks ago and have visited twice and really enjoyed both meals. The hummus is some of the best that I have had and their rice is delicious. I also like that you have your choice of breast meat or dark meat when you order a chicken kabob plate. The owners are really nice people and made my visit very pleasant. Do not waste your money on this place. The food has no flavor. An entire container of hummus could not add flavor to their pita bread. We order the Kibbeh with rice. The rice and meat had no flavor. They also didn't have Tzatziki sauce for the food. The soda machine was out of service. The waitress came to take our order and then disappeared. The AC was not working, and it was hot. read more

But when my sister gave me a piece of her filet mignon kabobs, it was amazing. I just couldn't believe the quality of the meat. Don't waste money on the chicken. Try the filet mignon!! They bought the store Feb 2020 and got shut down March 2020. Owner is working hard to make things work. Food tastes even better than when it was U-Pick cafe...which was good too. Haven't been there since the new ownership till today and it was a pleasant experience. Just a bummer that prices as higher which is probably why it was empty. But everywhere is high now. It's hard to eat out. I just don't think they licensed the Disney Abu monkey that is on their photo in the back lot. Shhhh. Hope they don't see this. read more

We found this place about 1/2 mile off the freeway passing by on our travels. I ate a chicken breast wrap and my partner had a chicken Schwarzmann wrap and a side of rice The food was absolutely delicious. The lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles inside were very tasty. I had a homemade yogurt cucumber side that was very flavorful. We shared a large piece of baklava for dessert. One of the best I've tasted. Food was very healthy and all homemade. We will keep this stop in mind when passing through Pasadena again. A very nice woman and man (assuming we're owners) we're warm and friendly. The restroom and bathrooms were very clean.
