Called for a quote on washer repair. Was asked the brand Abe what i thought was wrong, and the person that answered sarcastically said to get a new washer. Guess they're so busy that they don't need new customers. Edit based on owner response below: I did call another company who thoroughly explained why it wouldn't been worth it (part was minimum of $400) and they did not have a sarcastic tone. Rick returned my call in about 5 minutes. He saved me a lot of money by advising me over the phone. My dishwasher rack was not behaving and needed a new part. He called the parts store, found out the part # and price, gave me the phone /address/directions and hours for the next 2 days. He told me how to remove the bad part to take it to the part store. QUICK RESPONSE TIME! Our fridge broke on Thanksgiving Eve. I left several messages with the companies who had more reviews on Yelp. I wasn't expecting a call back until Friday morning. Not one of them responded. By 10 AM on Friday, I was becoming frustrated, so I called a few more names further down the Yelp list. Rick answered the phone. Based on the model # of the fridge and my description of the problem, he diagnosed the problem over the phone. He was there within hours to confirm his suspicion, bought the part, and came back on Saturday to fix it. It was only a couple hundred bucks to save a $2500 fridge. Meanwhile, I'm writing this review on a Monday, and NOT ONE of the five other places I called has returned my call. I'm sure glad I didn't wait. [Also, to the one-star reviewer who apparently judged a book by its cover, Rick diagnosed our problem without using tools or doing any conventional tests either. It's safe to say I would never contact ACA Appliance Services again. We were having issues with our refrigerator and I looked for someone who was well recommended. After reading the reviews here I contacted Rick and he was willing to come out later that day. When he arrived he walked into our house with no tools, opened the doors to the refrigerator, told us we needed a new jazz board (which would cost $300), charged me $65 for this "service" call, and left 5 minutes later. He literally spent no time trying to properly diagnose the issue, didn't take any time to see if it could be any of the other possible causes the refrigerator wasn't cooling properly, didn't listen to us, and talked down to us the entire time. While I'm not an expert by no stretch of the imagination, I grew up with a father who was in appliance repair and know full well that "diagnosing" the issue without actually opening up any of the internal panels and determining if it could be one of many other possible causes is akin to having a doctor diagnose you without doing any tests. After paying Rick $65 we contacted someone else, who took the time to actually provide a service and found out it was actually a plugged up check valve at the end of the drain, which isn't nearly as expensive. If Rick would have taken the time to open up the back panel of the refrigerator he would have seen this issue. I don't have any issues paying for a service call, if someone does actual work to diagnose an issue, but this was an absolute joke. I've never felt so ripped-off before. Never again. Edited: While I appreciate the thoughtful reply, this is not 100% correct. We had unplugged the refrigerator and emptied the freezer, as there was ice coating the entire back and bottom of the freezer and we were trying to get the coating of ice to thaw out. When he was at our house we were not told that it could not be diagnosed unplugged and, without a shadow of a doubt, he did not tell us it could be the drain. Instead we were told it was the jazz board and he would order one and come back to install it in a few days. Feeling uncomfortable with the fact that no tests had been done and the refrigerator had not been inspected, we told him to wait before ordering anything. Upon leaving he gave us an invoice diagnosing it as the jazz board. It's now seven months later and we never did receive that refund. read more

My fridge decided to stop cooling after a Costco run. I was stressing about losing all the new (BULK) food packed in there. Called Rick, he said he could come out by 3p and was here on time and had cool air was flowing by 3:30p. I got a lesson on how my fridge/freezer works in Rick's no nonsense manner, which I'm sure will help me in the future. Rick was quick to arrive, on time, used better than OEM parts (as he told me) and the price was fine. One important note: after everything was working Rick left, then he came back 10 minutes later to check one more thing he "thought about." That's impressive. The price of repair an ice maker is outrageous, quote $200 on the phone and charged $390 after the service.

Never before have I felt so violated. I called this company to repair my Sub Zero refrigerator, since it is stated on the website that they work on them. The A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, 30 years in business, local 'what you see is what you get' business man, all seemed like the perfect fit. I called Rick, he said he would see if his guy was in the area, and I received a call back and set up an appointment. I was not, at any point, told that this was a referral. I called ACA and believed, as anyone would, that 'his guy' was HIS employee. Not so much. The repairman showed up, diagnosed the repair, stated that I needed a compressor fan motor, and that it was $685. My husband questioned the price and we were told that it was a Sub Zero part and they are expensive. Being that this was a 30 year company and based solely upon the BBB rating, we had him do the repair. When writing the check, the invoice was to A-1 Appliance Repair, 2345 W. Altadena, Phoenix, AZ 85029. When I saw the part that was replaced, a small fan, and the fact that it took less than an hour from diagnosis to replacement, I began questioning the validity. At that point, I called another appliance repair company, Tri-City, and was informed that they were the ONLY authorized Sub Zero repair company, that my refrigerator was under warranty, and that they generally do not even replace just a fan motor, as it is likened to putting a Band-Aid on it and the entire compressor should probably have been replaced. The cost? $600. At this point I called Rick and told him I would give the fan back and that he would refund my money less the $75 trip charge. Rick stated he didn't have my money, he has 'nothing to do with this', he didn't repair Sub Zero (even though it is listed on his website) and was fully aware that Tri-City is the only authorized repair company in the area. I was sickened. I called A-1, Eddie Munoz, and was told I should have done my due diligence, he quoted a price and I agreed to it, and 'good luck' getting my money back. He even went so far as to mock me. I was livid. I then had Tri City come out, they have replaced the compressor, fan motor, and evaporator all for less than what I was charged by whom I believed to be ACA. The fan motor that was put in by A-1 was not even a Sub Zero part, which he said it was. I have tried again to contact both parties and was told in no uncertain terms by both of these miscreants that I would not be getting a refund. I can not believe that someone who has been in business for 30 years could be so inept as to dispatch a third party into my home to represent his business and then, on top of it, believe he has no responsibility for the third parties actions. NEVER did he say he was referring me to someone else. Disgusting. read more

I called ACA at 8:00 pm at night and he still answered and we immediately set up an appointment. He showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem with my washer. He fixed it in 20 minutes and was out the door. He was awesome and saved me a bunch of money. Highly recommend. read more

Our freezer decided to go out 3 days before Thanksgiving! We needed to have it fixed tonight because our kitchen was being cleaned the next day. Even though his voice mail clearly said that "..he cannot fix the refrigerator over the phone.." he asked me about the problem over the phone and immediately told me where the problem might be and how much it would cost me to fix it. He was able to accommodate me on the same day (a Friday, which admittedly is very busy for appliance repair folks). He even called me up as soon as he got a cancellation and we could prepone the appointment. When he came in, I found him courteous, good humored and honest. I called ACA about fixing my ice-maker. It had suddenly stopped. I also was nogt receiving cool air on the refrigerator side. I spoke to Rick who was super helpful with troubleshooting! He was able to come over the same day and completely fix everything!! He gave me a great price and didn't leave until everything was perfect! I found ACA Appliance Services online a few years ago for a needed dishwasher repair and was very impressed that Rick came out the day I called and for a very reasonable price repaired the unit. I recently called Rick because our clothes dryer was making a loud squeal and our large, built-in, Kitchenaid refrigerator stopped cooling. I called about my Refrigerator door not closing all the way and rick came out and looked it over. What really impressed me was that when Rick was inspecting my Refrigerator he had to move it and there was piles of dust and dirt that had gathered under the bottom of the Refrigerator. I explained to Rick that I had a super bad back and I could not clean that mess up right now, but Rick grabbed some paper towels and cleaned it all up, what a great guy. Fast, quality, reliable repair. Rick came out with only a couple hours notice to fix our HOT refrigerator. He was able to diagnose the problem & fix it quickly. A few weeks later I noticed the fridge wasn't as cold as usual. He came out after hours to accommodate our work schedules. Our wash Machine broke right in the middle of washing clothes Saturday night,12-16-2017, around 6 pm. I started calling appliance repair companies but no one was there just the answering service or voice mail. My wife found ACA Appliance Services on google and we called and Rick answered the phone and said he could come out in about an hour. Rick came down fixed our wash machine and saved the day for both of us. Wow, that was fast and great service. We will use Rick again if we ever need our appliances serviced again. We also used Rick to fix our Refrigerator door that was not closing on Tuesday January 9th and now our Frig door closes very good. The one thing that I thought was exceptional, is that when Ricked moved the Refrigerator there was piles of dust and dirt, but I told Rick that I had a really bad back and I could not clean that at the moment, so Rick grabbed some paper towels and cleaned the area really nice, what a great guy to do that.
