The most important thing in having a repairman doing work for you is TRUST. I trust Mike and his work is top notch. High quality work at a fair price you can not ask for more. I've had him work on my refrigerator and beverage cooler. He was able to repair my refrigerator and told me that it would be better to purchase a new beverage cooler than fixing my current one. I like it when people give me straight answers. It would have been in his best interest to fix the beverage cooler, but he shot straight with me and that I respect. I recommended him to a friend of mine. She thanked me numerous times saying she was told to buy a new refrigerator by the manufacturers repairman. Mike gave her a 2nd opinion and told her you have quite a few more years in the one you have with just a few hundred dollars repair. When you give good referrals to friends it makes you look good. I am not a fan of most 'repair' companies. Tip Top is an exception. I don't know how a business achieves 5 stars until they do. I expect professional, courteous treatment as well as keeping appointments and no surprises. A small business that is run very professionally with clear communication and on-time appointments. I called and left a message. Shortly I got a call back. Suzanne scheduled the appointment to my needs and called to let me know Mike was on the way thrity minutes before he arrived. Mike arrived and went about repairing my refrigerator and provided clear options. There were additional small issues that he was able to resolve in addition to making the refrigerator work again as well as fixing the ice maker work too. I then asked to make another appointment to look at a washing machine and a leaking faucet. He took the time to troubleshoot the issue, told me he had to order parts and timeframe for returning. He lef t me with an invoice for the current work and an estimate of the planned work. Again, I got calls when parts came in,scheduled time, and Mike showed when scheduled after a pre-arrival reminder. So what drove 5 stars. Attitude, helpfulness, a high degree of comfort that the communication from the office and Mike was open and honest, no hidden charges, and his hones assesment of the condition and viablity of the appliances. I was weary of calling Sears when my washer stopped working as they were extremely expensive last time I needed service. I decided to take a shot on Tip Top because of their rating and pricing and I am so happy that I did. The customer service was top notch and the actual machine service to my washer was timely. This repair service is very expensive, more so than most. I called them because they are local, about 5 min drive from me. Their service fee is 85.00 and it does NOT credit to the repair. Parts and labor were additional and very highly marked up. Mike is a very nice guy, but I was expecting a more professional diagnosis. Because his initial diagnosis was poorly done, I ended up without a washing machine for over a week, and a total of 2 repair visits that cost almost as much as a new machine would have cost. Sorry to say this, but I felt ripped off both times I paid him, The fact that I was without a machine for over a week still pisses me off. Now, less than 6 mos later I have the same problem again, but I'm calling a different company. Just had a repair person leave, and oh what a pleasure to see someone actually use a circuit tester to diagnose the problem. He cleared all the old codes, (left by Mike), and stabilized a wire harness that led to a broken wire. It makes me very upset that Mike did not think to stabilize the wire harness on his previous two expensive repair visits. read more

My experience with my washer repair was very complicated and the service that I received from Suzanne, Mike, and Chip was outstanding. This group of folks get it. From the first phone call to the multiple visits and the follow up communication needed when parts arrived, were more than I expected. While initially upset that they were not on time, I did not know that it is a two person company. Still not pleased at the lack of communication, but Mike and Suzanne try their best to ensure each customer is thoroughly taken care of to a point of satisfaction. This rating is only for when your warranty company send them out. They could be entirely fair when the warranty company is not involved. Their loyalties are clearly with the warranty company that gives them business. Our GE Profile over the cooking range Microwave panel was not working. The panel is clearly covered under home warranty, but is expensive to replace. Tip-top said the possible reason could be heat and oil from the cooking range. Warranty company claimed it as a "maintenance" issue and refused to pay for the replacement panel. I do not believe that GE profile over the range microwaves get malfunctioning panels due to the fact that they get heat from the range below. I think Tip-top realizes that it has a more permanent and profitable relationship with the warranty company, and helps them out. I will never use them again. read more

I had the best service from this family owned business and would use them again. We rent the home we live in and our dishwasher started making loud noise. I called Tip Top based on location, family owned and great reviews. Suzanne was great on the phone and was able to squeeze me in on the same day I called for a diagnosis. She kept updating me as to when Mike would arrive. He arrived right on time and made a diagnosis the motor would have to be replaced. By the next morning, I received a quote for replacing the motor and also a quote for a replacement dishwasher he recommended to me. He was able to obtain one through a distributor relationship he has and it was very reasonable price as was his quote for replacing the motor. I recommended to the owner doing business with Tip Top due to how impressed I was with Mike's product knowledge both replacing the motor and product knowledge of the dishwasher market. The owner ended up replacing the dishwasher using their own relationships so I was disappointed not to be able to give Mike the business. But his magnet is on my fridge and he will be the first call I make if I need any type of appliance service. read more

My washer stopped pumping water out and fortunately I had a warranty through square trade. After filing a claim with them they put me in touch with top top appliance. After looking up their reviews on yelp I was confident I wouldn't have any problems. The tech came and diagnosed the problem quickly. They ordered the replacement part, which came in two days faster than expected, and had my washer back up and running before I knew it. Tech was professional and courteous. Highly recommend. read more
