I have been wanting to have my driveway sealed for a very long time. When I received a card in the mailbox, I put it aside and then called a few days later. I had so many questions. which they patiently answered, and never pushed to get the job. I had planned to think about it, but after talking to them, I scheduled it for the very next week. They came as planned, followed my specific requests in terms of contacting me, and when I got home from work, I was amazed and delighted at how it looked. They left no mess, no footprints....just a beautiful driveway. I left a check on the door, and they graciously left a paid invoice in return. It rained just a little while after they had completed the job and I was so worried, but when I called, they gave me assurance it would be fine and if for any reason there was a problem, to give them a call. They were correct...there was no problem at all. I'm definitely going to put them in my tickler file to have the driveway resealed every 2 years. They are not just great in doing the job, but they are also very willing to take time to explain things. As a small business owner I was very impressed with Academy Sealers' customer service. I sent an online estimate request from their website for a complete driveway replacement (removed old asphalt and installed new asphalt) and had an email reply within an hour. Someone came by the house to measure and estimate it the following day. The price was slightly lower than the competition, but it was their quick replies that sold us on using them. I was trying to coordinate with a few neighbors and Academy answered all of our questions promptly, usually replying within a few hours. The best thing was we were all able to group our driveway replacements on the same day for a significant group discount. The work was slightly delayed due to all the rain this summer but Academy updated all of us with emails and did their best to accommodate everyone's schedules. The work was completed while my wife and I were working. Upon arriving home, the only sign of them being there was the new driveway. Academy Sealers, in Silver Spring, MD: We had our driveway replace and widened about 4 years ago... I was told to wait a year or two before sealing it... It was still in good condition, but it was due. I planned on doing it myself. My driveway is 325ft long and 15ft wide, with an additional parking area. I was still willing to give it a try, until pricing the material at BIG Name Home improvement stores--all of the sealers have OK reviews at best. Most have 3.5-star reviews and range from $19 to a high of $35. Since it was the 1st application they recommended 2 coats--- for a total of 28 buckets of it. So my costs would be $532 if I went with the cheapest--or $980 for the best. After talking to a bunch of friends who did it ONCE and hired people every time after that--- I figured I'd learn from their mistakes and regrets. Academy Sealers use a commercial grade sealer called Sealmaster that had good reviews. They charged less than what the materials would have cost me if I bought them myself and did the job myself. I very rarely write reviews but I have to, firstly Academy sealers sealed my drive way about 3 weeks ago, unfortunately I have a lot of cracks in my driveway. I know cracks really ca not be fully repaired or sealed I thought it would at least look decent enough after the seal coat was applied. Well, after the first seal was applied I was not happy with the results and called Academy back about my issues, the owners explained the situation about the cracks and to make a long story short, they really went out of their way to make a customer happy! They really didn't have to do anything but understanding that I wasn't happy, did everything in their power to make a customer happy! As a prior business owner I understand the challenges and customer expectations but a happy customer will go so far and Academy truly understands the meaning of true customer satisfaction! Academy Sealers just completed my driveway on Saturday. It was supposed to have been done on Thursday but was postponed due to rain. They called the day before and let me know they would have to re-schedue - which I did on the spot. They had sealed my driveway last year and it weathered well over the summer and winter. I was so pleased I called them right away to have it done again this year. It doesn't cost much more than the sealer I purchase at Home Depot and I don't have the work to mix it up and apply it myself. also I don't need to have the tools needed to spread the sealer, don't get my shoes so dirty I have to throw them away, and they do a much neater job than I do. In three words: ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Academy Sealers sealed my driveway on September 9, 2022. I received a text message early in the morning identifying a timeframe for their arrival and they arrived within that timeframe. The team blew dirt and debris off the driveway, used a filler to fill the large cracks, and then sealed the entire driveway. They did excellent job and were a pleasure to deal with! All is well that ends well. First time use. Responded to flyer. Scheduled with condition rain not forecast. Unfortunately, it rained heavily shortly after sealer applied. Tremendous mess with tar on garage door and siding of garage. Did not think they could clean the mess adequately, but was surprised at the capability of the one man cleaning crew. Since most of the sealer either splashed up on near surfaces or washed away, driveway was resealed. Looks good. Sealer and cleaner guys were pleasant and good to deal with. Main office responsive. We have neglected our driveway and as a result have many cracks. We had it sealed and we were not happy with the filling of the cracks after the job was completed. We called the next day and the person we spoke to scheduled a follow up within a few days to address our cracks. They were very courteous, friendly and best yet--did an awesome job on the refilling of the cracks. I have been getting flyers about the driveway sealing services. The price was great but I wasn't sure about the quality of the sealer. After I saw how good some of my neighbors' driveways looked, I called for the service. They came while I was out of the house and billed me. My driveway looks great. The sealer seems a bit more substantial than a previous spray on sealer was. Hopefully it holds up much better. In the meantime, the service and the price was great. read more
