Yes yes YES!!! Açaí Bar is sooo tasty and worth the price!!! I will be coming back!!! COVID-friendly ordering was outdoors at the front of the store. My bowl was ready in less than a minute! I highly recommend the Cocabanana Bowl. It was so refreshing and sufficed as a meal replacement. The açaí stayed semi-solid even after running a couple errands on the way home. On their website they say "All our bowls are vegan, and made with 100% fruit, and contains zero refined sugar, dairy, or juice." Our first time visiting this location of Acai Bar. We found the staff to be much more pleasant than the Monrovia location. The fruit was fresh and the cup was full (again, better than the Monrovia location). There is limited street parking right in front, but we were able to find a spot fairly easily across the street. Some of the most wonderful Acai treats at Acai Bar! Acai Bar has a wonderful array of fresh fruit and toppings to put in your bowl, and like so many other Acai places around LA, the sizes range from teeny to mucho. Their Acai base is heavenly - firm yet creamy, and stays that way till the end of the bowl, rather than immediately turning into a sloppy mess. Usually a medium size is a solid meal, and the child's/sampler would be great for a snack. Toppings are not unlimited however; the bowls come with three free toppings, and the rest are about a $1 each I believe. We have never tried their smoothies, but they have an array of enticing smoothie combos as well. Their granola is also A+. This place is my go-to for lunch on certain days, and rather than pay for extra toppings past the three, I usually get fresh fruit and granola, and then add hemp seeds and nut butters at home, saving at least a couple bucks but not sacrificing on overall ingredients. One star docked because despite asking multiple employees about the ingredients in the Acai base, I'm told it's just "pure Acai with some sugar to help scoop it". However, they can't tell me how much added sugar, nor can they tell me where the base is from, or even the manufacturer of the base. The base is pretty darn sweet, and for people who are trying to be conscious of added sugar, it would be very nice to be transparent with your customers about the actual content and added sugars of the base. I love that this place has an overall very "purist" vibe...meaning their acai is REAL acai, not the soupy monster concoction I've seen many other acai places advertise which is essentially just a way to cut corners by stuffing tons of cheaper fruits in there as fillers instead of having pure/mostly acai. Okay I've been to this location and the Monrovia location and there's a huge difference. Four stars for the Pasadena location!!!! The ingredients were fresh and I loved how the young lady making my ball was "heavy-handed" putting everything in the bowl, I really felt like I was getting my money's worth. Berry Me bowl has acai and berries with bee pollen and I added coconut. The only thing that almost ruined my experience was I specifically asked for light bee pollen, just a dash because if I have too much I have trouble lol and the young lady making my bowl didn't get the note and was heavy-handed on the bee pollen so I struggled a bit. Ha ha! If you like acai definitely a place to check out. My recommendation would be stick with getting a bowl and don't try the smoothie route - there's no comparison between those two items. We ordered our Acai bowls through the app and while they were delicious they were very expensive. Other Acai bowl places have granola and agave free and then your extra toppings are the fruit and peanut butter and stuff, but this place only gives you three toppings and it counts stuff like agave as toppings. So if you want a standard Acai bowl it ends up being pretty expensive. It's tasty but pricier than others places. To be honest I haven't had a bad Acai bowl anywhere so the only true difference to me is price. I like that they offer a different variety of bowl sizes and toppings. I don't always want a ginormous bowl for myself, so I usually go with the Starter bowl that includes one topping, then add a few more. The next-larger size is more cost-efficient, but I like the option of a smaller portion. I usually go with cacao nibs, granola, banana and PB. They also offer a variety of other fruits, almond butter, honey, coconut, etc. The best part is the acai base itself! Most of the time, it was wayyy too sweet and is loaded with added sugar, is too grainy, too watery and melts immediately, or artificial-tasting. Acai Bar's acai is fresh and natural tasting, not at all too sweet, and perfectly creamy. The owner is usually there when I stop by and is always friendly, welcoming. No thanks Lets get it down to my order: They got the order correct but the mangos that they put, you got one half of the mangos that were really soggy and didn't taste fresh at all then the other half they tasted fresh. So that was an issue. Next, I asked the girl with brunette hair to add extra agave, and she just poured straight into the bowl without drizzling it to make it even. Basically just plopped the agave right into the middle and it didn't taste even or as good at all. I'll give the rating up to a 4 once the customer service has improved.
