Absolute joke! We went in because our son had chest pain and fever, the so-called Dr. CHAVEZ Did not want to do an ekg, no labs , no swab, no x-rays. rude, unknowledgeable , and sloppy. The staff was laughing and joking around on their phones the entire time ... waited forever just for him to come in and say he didn't know what was wrong with our son (without even asking 1 question about his symptoms) and to take him to the emergency room . COVID TEST REVIEW Accelerated Urgent Care was the absolute last place I wanted to go after I fell ill in December. Between their Doctors ridiculous unscientific claims on YouTube then the hypocrisy of advertising COVID Clinics across Kern County just got me. However, if you've tried finding a COVID testing clinic on the same day you're in for a dissapointment. Several weren't taking appointments for the same week. Accelerated Urgent Care offered same day service, which was great! Here's where things started to go sour. When I called I asked if they would take my insurance and how much the test would be they said it was whatever my Urgent Care Co-Pay was. Okay great! I made an appointment for later that evening. When I arrived, I was downright awful feeling. My boyfriend helped me to the counter and and was about to assist me to my seat when a nurse rudely told him to leave since he wasn't a patient. We totally understand the policy but please, show some kindness. He was just helping me get seated and was about to leave to wait in the parking lot. I offered up my card and they had me sign multiple documents. I realize now I should have declined to have him leave and instead looked over the paperwork. One of which I signed (in my near delirious state) was authorizing them to debit my card at any time. When the nurse was taking my vitals my BP was elevated beyond what I've seen - 155/105. I asked the nurse if that was normal and she looked at me and asked, I don't know - is it? I then pressed and asked if this had anything to do with COVID. She very shortly replied - no - and sent me to the room. After taking a nice deep nasal swab a young physician assistant came in to give me my test results. He announced positive, asked if I needed a note, and turned him back. I asked if there were any meds I needed or suggestions on how to treat this. He just replied, nope. Just stay home for 10 days as per the CDC. And he turned around and left. It was such a shock to see someone so uncaring. At this point, learning I had COVID was alarming and quite frankly terrified me. Having a medical professional with good bedside manner would have totally helped ease my nerves. I left Accelerated feeling down and out. But it wasn't until I received an additional ~$75 charge (in addition to the ~$50 copay paid onsite) to my card. I was promised both on the phone and in person that the copay was all I needed to pay. I realize medical billing is a nightmare, but this was straight up bait and switch. They had ample opportunity to let me know up front that my insurance would only cover X amount. This is only one of a handful of bad experiences with Accelerated. I truly wouldn't recommend any of their facilities. There are better UC options out there. read more

I had a severe kidney infection and they gave me antibiotics shots all in the wrong places and didn't send my medication to my pharmacy then when i called sent it to an old pharmacy that is closed and i can't get my antibiotics, i had good service from one nurse over a 3 day span and didn't get any help or answers from anyone. I went in for a sever sore throat. They COVID and flu tested me, never gave me the results so I'm assuming they were negative. When the Dr came into the room she didn't introduce herself. She looked at my throat, I'm my ears and prescribed an antibiotic. Never gave me a official diagnosis. I'm assuming she thought it was strep, why else for the meds. They only good thing I was in an out quick, but that was due to lack of time taken with me. read more

My daughter went to Accelerated UC on Olive and Calloway. She has double insurance coverage, so there should not be much of a co-pay. She gave the front desk both insurance cards but they ALWAYS require a credit card on file. She gave them our flexible spending medical card, as we always do. A few days later, I received a notification that $387 was charged to our card for her Covid testing. I called the billing dept and they said they only received one insurance card from Accelerated Urgent Care. That insurance was not the primary insurance, for her, so they denied the expense, stating there was another insurance that was primary. What does Accelerated do? Try to find the other insurance card my daughter presented? Call her or me for verification? NOPE. They just charged the credit card on file. Boom! Done! They got their money, so billing will probably get a bonus. I called the billing dept and they assured me they would bill the primary insurance. Fast forward to today, the primary insurance company says they still have not been billed. I called the Urgent Care and billing dept again, today, but now they can't talk with me about the bill because she is not under 18. JUST DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY AND I WOULDN'T NEED TO TALK TO ANYONE. I'm still waiting for the manager, "Shannon", to call me back. I gave 2 stars because she was seen quickly, got her negative result, and was able to get back to work. They NEVER ANSWER their phone. I have been trying to get my result for a Covid test, that should only take 4 days and here we are 6 days and no results. I finally got a call around 2pm on day 6, but I missed the call. They left a message with a rerun call# die the phone they NEVRR PICK UP. I will never recommend this place because it is impossible to get a hold of anyone by phone. You will physically need to get there to get any answers. I went in on Dec 26 and had to get 3 stitches, the Dr I saw was great and did an amazing job! At the time of the appointment they charged my CC for my co pay of 85.00 ( which I thought was high) and then today I open my bank account and they have charged me another 500.00 and when I called they said they emailed me a bill which they did not when I asked he r the Email she even repeated it back WRONG! They Said my health Ins "should have sent me an EOB which counts as a bill" I said this is not true they should have sent a bill and that they cant just charge my account with telling me and they well sorry that's how we do things and you signed the authorization I said I only signed to authorize the CO pay! . My first time here was amazing, the male Dr who I was told is now at the Olive Drive location made me feel important. Now I come in for my appointment and the woman who took me back (young, black woman) was amazing, so sweet and caring. Now the PA lisa Mendez comes in, I'm here for my knee which was swollen and in pain for the past two days, she forces my pant above my knee causing more pain and quickly gives me a "diagnosis" then asks if I need a note for work, ummmmm what kind of medical care is that? I have platinum insurance and don't pay that premium for this subpar treatment. 2 stars for the great woman who brought me back and gave me the shot of Toradal, she's so sweet. read more

Went in for my 8-year-old daughter having tenderness on abdomen, low grade fever, and vomiting. They took a urine sample, and the doctor examined her abdomen by pushing on it. He could not tell exactly what it was based on only the high count of leukocytes within her urine and the physical exam. However, he continued to say it's likely a UTI. He said to only go to the ER if her pain moved to the right of her abdomen or if she was not better within 48 hours because it MIGHT be an appendicitis. They administered an antibiotic shot on the buttock and prescribed more antibiotics. I trusted his opinion because he is a doctor however, the next day she just seemed the same as the day before. I made an appointment with her physician for the following day because I thought maybe she still had time to get better since he said 48 hours. The appointment with her physician was about only thirty hours after the urgent care visit. HER PHYSICIAN SAID TO GO TO THE ER as soon as she saw her, she said you cannot locate pain in a child's abdomen and all children know is that they are in pain. We went to the ER (the ER is another story of bad service). SHE HAD A RUPTURED APPENDIX!!!!!!!!! So, my problem is that the accelerated urgent care did not try to do more like x-rays or even say that they had a cat scan there or even take abdomen pain serious enough to say go to the ER just in case!!!!! Yes, my daughter said her pain was near the area where UTI pain is but if a doctor seems unsure do not trust their opinion especially if they are not doing everything they can to get to the bottom of what is causing the pain or illness. My daughter ended up with a ruptured appendix, an abscess, and sepsis. In addition, the doctor's name was Dr. Baro. read more

Then hopped on the web and found Accelerated has telemedi which only took a few hours from the time I requested an appointment to see the doctor and getting a prescription written and am now waiting on the pharmacy! Since my insurance declined covering the cost of my visit here, I was charged $300 for literally less than 2 minutes with a nurse practitioner, not even a doctor. That's $150/minute! I spent longer at the pharmacy talking to the pharmacist picking up the antibiotic I was prescribed. Healthcare in this country, even with insurance is a joke. I guess next time, I will just die, because at least then I know that the cost of that would justifiy the means. WORST experience ever at a medical clinic! On July 2, I was seen by a Physician Assistant, who heard my medical complaint and referred me to visit the ER (I had no serious injury/trauma), without providing any advice/answers/care/solution nor exams/labs, despite falsely claiming on my discharge notes that a variety of physical exams were performed. The whole interaction was less than 5 minutes! I called a day later to ask that some blood work at least be ordered on my behalf, to which the assistant said I would have to come in again for another visit. Ridiculous! I've filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, and I advise others to do the same. If they don't comply, then my next step is legal action. read more

I recently came in for Covid 19 testing. I had two positive results and the last was negative. The staff gets 5 stars. Everyone there was very helpful and treated me with respect. The reason for two stars is nobody answers the phone. I had to walk in the building knowing I was possibly positive. After reading all the negative reviews this is a ongoing problem at the coffee rd location. You need to hire someone to strictly answer the phones. It would solve most of the complaints. I waited 5 days before I got pissed and called. Since you guys would not answer the phone, I called the Brimhall location and on the first try, someone picked up the phone and I got my results. Hopefully, one of the owners reads this and fires the manager at coffee or at least the pr guy because you sir are not doing your job. read more

I need my Covid 19 results back and they just are sitting with my results. I called the main line 4 times and they won't give me my results even though they have them. They say they have a lot to go through and will call me when they get to it.I know to self isolate but they clearly don't care if you have Covid 19 or not. Everyone I know got the results done in a fraction of the time. They don't care that you need them or not. Avoid this place at all costs. Update July 6, 2020 After numerous calls, I got told my result after begging them to tell me the information. However....The next day I get another call and they actually had lied to me and told me they don't know where the results are. I took the test on June 26, 2020 and it is now July 6th and I still don't have any kind of results. I have been lied to, hung up on and I see any lack of any kind of urgency for patients. Awful service, awful compassion for patients, and suspicious care when it comes to COVID-19 testing and treatment. My mother and her boyfriend contracted covid and he passed away in his sleep after 5 days of symptoms due to complications that caused a heart attack. My mom was the one who found him and is devastated and traumatized from the event in addition to her weakness from covid. Bc I live with them, I came to get tested the AM after his passing. I brought my mom w/me (both of us in masks) bc her heart started racing and we were scared for her life bc the virus took her bf just hours before. When we finally got in, we informed them of the situation, my mom still in tears:shock from the incident, and asked if someone could check her vitals or do an exam just to make sure she was okay. We came here at 7:45am right before they opened rather than an ER because it is right down the street from our home and I wanted to get her medical attention immediately. They had zero sympathy and told her because she tested positive she had to leave. In a room half full of obviously symptomatic people waiting to see if they're positive too. They wouldn't even let her speak with a professional to make sure she was in healthy enough condition to leave. They told her to go find and ER in her hysterical condition where she would probably have to sit in a waiting room sick and anxious for hours. When I finally got back to get tested, I spoke with a nurse. She was the only light in this dark place. When I told her of the situation our family was in, she consoled me and told me that they should never have sent her away in that condition. She said they are capable of treating patients with the virus outside in their vehicles. She told me I could call the front and ask for her by name and to give the make and model of our vehicle and she would come outside and check my moms vitals because that was her duty as a medical professional. If only any of the rest of the staff I spoke with took their jobs seriously like she does and actually cared about people and not just getting patients in and out on demand. Now, it has been almost a week since my test and no results have come. They said I would get them within 2-3 days and if I had not heard back by the third day, then to give them a call. I have called repeatedly for the past two days and not only do they not answer their phone, but when I finally got through, the first woman told me "We actually have somebody whose job it is to call you." I told her I was instructed to call and she assured me they were just busy but that I would hear back soon. I called over 40 times today and have only had somebody pick up once. She asked for my name and birthday, for what reason I have no clue, because she again would not tell me my results and told me the back desk would call within the next hour or two. It has been 4 hours and I called 22 times and no answer. They actually forwarded me straight to voicemail twice. As far as the testing process, they never confirmed my information on the testing bag. My little sister's best friend's test was marked with the complete wrong information and instead of checking to make sure they had the right test, they just changed the birthday on the bag with a marker. The name had to have been wrong too, because the name and birthday they pull straight from your records on file...which obviously should match. Not to mention, the first room he was in had it right, then the exam room less than 2 minutes later they read back the wrong info to him. At this point I'm not sure why I even try getting my results back, because I do not trust them or any other testing facility here for that matter. My little sister and my boyfriend have both tested negative, which makes no sense because my sister has been in close proximity (hugging, kissing, eating meals with/cooked by) to my mom and her boyfriend through the whole process. I drank after my mom (accidentally, obviously) multiple times while she was in the midst of the worst of her symptoms because I mistook her water bottle for mine. I've also been sleeping with her every night since this tragedy because that is more important to me than avoiding a virus in these heart breaking times. I have no symptoms. I am not sick. Nobody else they were around is sick. Something is wrong with the information and the testing surrounding this virus. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, obviously this can be so scary -- one of the 1% dying from this virus was a member of our family -- but something is not sitting right with the way medical centers are handling this situation and more people need to be talking about it. *Update: I called the Brimhall location and told them about my situation and they answered on the first ring and gave me my results immediately. Hands down the best urgent care medical provider in this town. The caliber of physicians and physicians' assistants is outstanding. This facility is spacious, clean and well maintained. The office staff is knowledgeable, welcoming and efficient. One doesn't typical feel well when entering the doors and the staff works so hard to be hospitable and set patients at ease. Staff here are quick to listen and develop trust with patients. I appreciate that the outstanding quality of service has not diminished as this medical group has grown. Recent visit was on Gosford rd. due to an allergic reaction I had to a chemical. I waited 3 days to go in. (the doctor scolded me for waiting so long). The receptionist was nice and polite when i told her i had a rash. She thanked me for telling her, and i was sent to quarantine. I have sensitive skin so I've dealt with many unprofessional receptions that assumed i had a flesh eating virus. A shot, a cream a prescription I was in and out. Today's visit on Olive dr. They won't do their job in collecting their money and expect the patient to do all the work. Really dislike their stance on the virus and how it's not serious and not deadly and this forever hurt their reputation. This review is not about that but is instead about how they came together last January the due to Cedars-Sinai wanting tests done in the midst of a riot. I just had a heart transplant and was feeling off. I couldn't make it down to Cedars-Sinai and needed a few EKGs and XRays done to be immediately sent to Cedars-Sinai for interpretation. Their doctors at Accelerated haven't experienced heart transplant test results before but they were very communicative with the requests from Cedars Sinai and very quick and made it a priority. The doctor and the staff went above and beyond at a very odd hour to make sure the transplanted freshly donated heart was doing fine in the midst of a riot. read more

Tested okay; however week latter very painful and they recommended Coffee Road. What you prescribed was fantastic got rid of an 8 pain that was unbearable for a very old lady. I have been on computer for 45 years, but you did something to my cell and computer that made me look at FaceTime and Zoom. Thanks for the medical help and technology help. This place needs new management ASAP. Seriously. I have visited in the past, several times and have never experienced what I did yesterday and today. I was told on the phone it's a 3 hour wait, and you can't make an appointment for the next day. I called at 8am today, no one answered. I arrived at 8:20, and was told it would be approx 90 minutes. 90 minutes later I went up to the front to check on how much longer, and I had not even been checked in yet, there were 4 people ahead of me to just be CHECKED IN. And it will now be an additional 3 hours. This is the most inefficiently run place I've ever encountered. I've been trying to call another office nearby to see if I can get in there, and the call won't go through. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I literally only need a doctors note signed for my grandson to go back to school. As I stated, I have had great experiences here in the past. Maybe they need to hire more people. And I get that urgent care will always have a wait, but don't tell me 90 minutes and then 90 minutes later tell me I'm still on the check in list. If I could give a 0 stars I would. Let's start off with the front desk girls don't know how to run your insurance. They just go off of whatever they "think" is correct and don't question anything. My son was seen in March, May and July. I was also seen in May same exact day as my son. My husband paid our $40 copay ($20 each to be seen) the providers have always been nice and professional. Due to me being pregnant the provider didn't want to prescribe anything for my cough/asthma I'm assuming he was afraid to give me the wrong Rx, not completely sure. Didn't make a huge deal even thought it was a waste of my time and copay. One week later I notice Accelerated took out $20 out of my bank account on top of the $40 my husband had just paid on the date of service. Because they have my card on my sons account from the pervious time he was seen. I called their billing department and they said they would be issuing a refund it was an error on their end and it would just take a few weeks due to the DOS that was pending with the insurance. Okay great, I call and check in every week since and they say it's still pending with my insurance. Fast forward to last week I took my son in again for his asthma, paid another $20 copay as usual. Well I look at my bank account and Accelerated took out $329. I immediately call their billing department thinking it was a mess up on my sons account. They look into it and end up finding out it was on my account FROM MAY. She said oh you must of had a break in coverage, and I said no ma'am I've been on my husband insurance for 3 years and he has been employed with the same place for 7 years. Absolutely no change in coverage whatsoever. She then said oh well you are going to have to call your insurance because it looks like they denied the whole office visit from May. I've worked in the medical field for 7 years and if anyone knows billing, the billing department should be the one to rerun the claim. ‍ I said okay have a nice day. I call my insurance and they said they have no records of me being seen at Accelerated at all. I was so confused at this point at how this is even possible. After a 3 way call with my insurance, myself and their billing department the insurance stated they did not click "box 32" which includes Accelerateds info. So not doing so the insurance denies the entire thing because it's got errors. So now nothing has been figured out. They did not have consent to take out random amounts of money from my account, they never sent me a bill, and their billing department is giving me the run around claiming it's a "third party billing office." And?! Figure it out!!! How are you going to take money without my consent and then I find out your billing department doesn't even know how to bill correctly?! Mind you now I have tons of over draft fees due to this shit show they call business. NEVER ever will I recommend or return. Horrible horrible way of doing business. read more

I was denied care due to having outstanding balances which I will need to resolve between my auto insurance, the lawyer I retained due to my auto accidents and the 2 insurance carriers I had during the dates of service. I went to their white ln office Sunday morning requesting I be seen rather than go to ER for injuries sustained in yet another car accident. The front desk advised I'd be denied care due to being in collections which I have never received a paper statement for they printed out 2 dates of service I needed to clear up. I tried their 6618857775 number for their billing voice-mail full. I called 6618856000 and spoke to Daisy requesting she forward my info to the billing department and advise them to please clear their voicmeail as well and she advised she would. Called this morning its still full. Anyway, I spoke to Stephanie in billing on Monday and advised I had the dates of service that needed to be cleared but was confused why one of the dates of service was still showing unpaid when my attorney and I have a copy of a check that they were settled and paid out? She advised there were several dates of balances owed not just the 2 dates the front desk at white ln gave me. She then proceeded to give me dates and amounts I advised that I would like to save her time and that I am visual so her saying dates and me not having it in writing and visually available won't help me figure out which insurance I need to follow up with to receive payment or determine if it was paid out with my attorney. I let her know I was in a car accident the weekend which is why I was denied care on Sunday in her office and that my primary couldn't see me due to them not taking auto or workers comp cases that I was going to go to ER to be seen but if on Wednesday afternoon I could go to her coffee road office to pick up print outs of all the dates of service there was a balance owed for. She offered to have then available Monday but I advised I was in pain and was going to lose a few days of being functional due to flexeril a medication that I'm prescribed due to back injuries so that after my ER visit I'd be tired and out of it for a few days so if Wednesday worked and thought we had an agreement for that date. Well 7:15am Wednesday morning before their local office is even open I had their agency Experity ca me to collect the debt. When I asked if they are required to operate and follow Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and they said they don't know that she received an email from Accelerated Urgent Care to contact me today I advises that I had an agreement with my local office with Stephanie in billing that she would provide me with printout so that I can see visually what would be discussed over the phone. I checked my email no attachments from Stephanie even though we had an agreement I would pick them up at her Coffee rd office today Wednesday. I advised the lady calling that in California collector's are prohibited to call between 8am-9pm and that she woke me up and I've been on pain medication with sporadic sleep to have a great morning that mine is ruined and I'm upset that the agreement I had with my local office wasn't followed through. I called my local office close and the billing department voice-mail is still full. I am requesting the email sent from Stephanie or someone at the local AUC sent to Experity agency be sent to me so I can see why our agreement was honored or followed through, we will see if that happens. I also called Experity to have a manager call me back so we can review the standard operation procedures since the 1st representative was unaware of the acts put in place by the State of California. They require a credit card on file so they can bill your insurance and then bill the patient I was told by a biller they bill as an ER or under ER coding even though their an urgent care so they can bill your insurance with different codes for larger payout and which is why the patients initial copay is usually not enough and they bill the credit card they have on file. Not sure if this is true but I will be thoroughly reviewing the billing codes submitted to my insurance. Don't go here you credit card left on file will be debited for more money their billing department doesn't even have a properly functioning voice-mail and their collection agency doesn't follow the law. My visit to this urgent care was amazing. Right before this I had a horrible experience at another urgent care and decided to leave and was able to locate this one. I called one of their Accelerated Urgent Care locations before coming to confirm whether they take my insurance (Kern Family) and they do! (Except their location on Brimhall). All the staff from reception to MAs and nurses in the back were so kind. My entire visit probably only lasted like 15 min.. I was in and out in no time. The receptionist that helped me did inform me that it's an even easier process to make an appointment online than walking in - which is already a pretty easy process anyways. I am definitely coming back. They even called me the following day to check up on me and see how I was doing. She offered to answer any questions or concerns I had over the phone as well. I would use 0 stars if I could. My husband was here, cut tip of his finger off, the gentleman that took care of the finger was great, but the front staff was very disorganized. They let me go back with my husband no problem. We left visit just fine, husband takes prescribed antibiotic,, has an allergic reaction, calls Accelerated, they tell him to come back.
