Initially he seemed irritated but after talking a bit more to him it was clear that he had just dealt with a very disrespectful customer prior to me coming in and was still feeling understandably fired up about it. I took my 1996 Honda to Access Smog for the first time due to the numerous positive reviews. I arrived first thing in the morning and was the first car. The manager really wasn't welcoming. I felt I was an intrusion. His greeting was telling me I should have called first to make an appointment because my car was old and they needed to "warm up" a machine. Well it took all but 1 minute to warm up their machine. While I don't have an issue with their work, I take issue with their pricing and lack of upfront disclosure of additional fees. I used their online coupon which states $34.75 for older cars plus $8.25 for the certificate. So I expected to pay $43.00. They added an additional $5 for the age; a $2.50 credit card fee; and an additional $2.04 credit card processing fee. So $5.04 to use a credit card. I paid a total of $53.04, about $10 more than I expected. While I'm ok with the extra dollars because of the age of the car and equipment needed, multiple charges to use a credit card doesn't seem to be above board. read more

I would give '0' star if there is the option. The guy works there is extremely rude. He has no manners. He also banged on my hood and yelled at me multiple times which scared me. my test failed. He asked me taking the paperwork to DMV! I called back later and wanted to ask if he could redo the test after I get the car fixed. Called this place and asked about their wait time. Spoke with Hadi. Super nice on the phone. When I got there and pulled up, there was no clear direction on where to go. I just waited. I had a check engine light on and so when I was "waved in" to pull up my car he said "did you sign in?" (Nobody told me to sign in!). These were the first words from Hadi. No hello or any type of direction. I wasn't sure about the light (this is my FIRST time needing a smog check, mind you). Ronald seemed to really want to help me out and give me the best chance for success when my car didn't pass the first time. Yes its the cheapest smog around through groupon however be aware. The only person working there is extremely rude and gets frustrated if you say anything. He got mad and started nonstop arguing with me that i got the groupon and not directly through him. Super rude and poor customer service. However the smog check does get done. read more

A little tricky to find but fast/easy/no fuss and I believe it is a smaller family run operation so I'd give them some support if you're in this area! Of course this was my son doing me the favor of bringing the truck in for a smog check, so just goes to show how they will screw with unsuspecting patrons. So I had my car smog checked today, and everything was going well, all things considered. When I went to pay and had a Groupon, the guy flipped his shit on me accusing me of being deceptive and cheating him, I mean we had a full-blown argument with witnesses - how I "should have told him that I had a Groupon because they don't accept Groupons" and that he loses money when people don't pay full price. When I asked where does it say that "I need to let him know that I have a Groupon before he does the work", he pulls a sign out of his "office" that shows the full price of a smog check. I'm like what am I supposed to do with this information?!? I called to make the appointment- he didn't ask if I had a Groupon. I got there and checked in - didn't ask if I had a Groupon. I filled out paperwork, and wrote that I'd be paying with a Groupon and a credit card. He really should stop offering Groupons or at least post a sign that he doesn't accept them instead of accusing his customers of cheating him. He's obviously confused how to run a business. I called their phone number, & Hadi gave me perfect directions to get to the shop. We got there, Hadi was expecting us, he did the Smog Test, & electronically transmitted it to the DMV. I wish he was a mechanic too but his neighbor next door is an ACE mechanic that I trust with my life too. The old man who runs this business is shady and does not deal honestly with Group On users, which is how I came to be there. He wanted to mark it used before any paperwork was completed, foolishly I went along. He then told me he couldn't do my car and offered no refund or retest? He even had the nerve to tell me my car sounded like a diesel, a really ignorant thing to say since it is clearly not! The shop is filthy and they have ramps sticking out into the driveway which can be tripped on, which I did. When I complained about his not performing the smog check and not refunding my money, he got rude and told me he was very busy and I could pay again or not but I needed to leave. The shop was deserted when I got there and when I left so he was just being dishonest and taking his discounted groupon fee. I needed a STAR station and Hadi was very helpful. My car didn't pass initially as my battery had recently died and needed replacement. After replacement I returned 3 times as the systems in my car were still not ready. Hadi charged me for the initial testing and only for one retest when my car passed!
