I called on a Sunday and was able to get me in. Smog check costs more on a Sunday so you can save a couple of bucks if you wait. Appointment required on Sunday so call Hadi. I found Access Smog online because of a coupon they offered. I called in and spoke to Hadi. Hadi assured me there would be no wait and he would honor my coupon. When I arrived an hour later, Hadi greeted me, took my DMV paperwork and coupon and got me right in. He did my inspection in about 10 minutes, submitted my Smog test to the DMV and got me on my way. Be wary. I found a coupon for my '95 vehicle and took it in for smog. The main reason I went was because of the coupon. Most places wanted just under $100 +cert to smog my older vehicle. If I added up everything from the coupon (older vehicle $34.75, '95 & older +$10, SUV +$5) it would have been $49.75 + cert. The first thing the guy tells me is that the coupon won't work for my vehicle that it'll be $98 +cert. Well, crap. I was already there, so I told him to go ahead. He goes on about how he likes my vehicle, he used to drive an older one when he was younger, etc., etc. Then he smogs it and it fails at a certain speed and does so miserably. The MAX for the failure was 365 and my vehicle showed 607. He said he had a buddy that could 'fix it' so I could pass and I told him I had a mechanic that knew the history of my vehicle. Then, as he talked to me about it a bit more, reminiscing about his younger years he told me about his mechanic two more times! Kept pushing it. The next day I took it to my mechanic and he can't find anything wrong. So, after a few days he took it to the Smog guy in his area and it passed. Not just a little, but the one that failed at 607 passed with a 5. and the other speed that passed on the test from the first guy that measured 9 passed with the second guy with a 4. There was another section where the first guy measured a 17 and a 13 (different speeds), but the second guy got a 9 and a 6. My mechanic asked his smog guy how it could vary so much and he said the other guy that failed my vehicle punched in the wrong numbers into the machine (because it doesn't have and ODB connector). Be wary- it seemed like they either want to fail you to rip you off if you have an older vehicle so you pay for unneeded repairs or they don't know what they're doing with older vehicles. I ended up paying TWICE because I couldn't trust the first guy. read more

Hadi is a piece of work. Maybe caught him on a bad day a couple weeks ago but he was not courteous and almost rude especially when I was his only customer. The place is not clean and he throws in extra $ fees besides the smog check and certificate that are not listed on his ad price. Won't go back. read more

Access Smog is off of Avery Parkway, almost on the very corner of Marguerite Parkway and Avery; it is located almost directly behind American Tire, (but not connected to the same parking) in a small strip-mall. Google says he's open on Sundays, he's not. Only open by appointment, so wife and I waited from 9:45-10:25am until we left. I called at 9:45, he said he'd be there at 10:15 to open the shop. He was late, called us at 10:35 wondering if we're coming in. In short, don't come here on Sundays, and don't expect it to be punctual. I reached out to him via text only to have him defend himself rather than understand why a potential customer would be upset. I'd give 0 stars if I could simply by lack of service rendered. Call before you go! Quick and good value. Have been coming here for several years. Supposedly they open at 8:30am. Today I came a little past 9am and they were closed. I called the number and a message to call cell phone if they are closed and he'll be there in 10 minutes. I had been to the smog facility numerous occasions when another owner ran it and will never go again. The moment I showed him my coupon, Hadi tried to claim his equipment could not handle my older model van. When I responded that I had brought it there many times, he said I needed to drive the van 450 miles to be sure the van would pass smog. I know that older model vans like mine require additional setup time and the coupon states as much for a bit more. Obviously, Hadi didn't think it was worth his time. Well I went in today to get my 2008 Chevy Silverado a smog. I pulled in the back and the owner Hadi had just finished with another vehicle. There was no wait. He was very friendly and helpful. I have been taking 3-4 cars to Hadi for every renewal, for the past 20+ years and I have received good service from him. Lately, there have been other people there, who have been filling in for Hadi (apparently he opened another shop in Lake Forest) and they have been competent as well. He now has a man working there during the week that is lazy, not very smart and lacks any sort of Customer Service skills. I paid for the full Smog Check on an older vehicle and it did not pass, because my battery terminal was loose and erased all the code data. Came back 6 times for a re-test, but not enough miles were driven yet. Saw this man yesterday and I made the comment that he is the third person I saw there this week and asked where was the guy from yesterday (who gave me specific instructions to clear the codes and come in the next morning). He took offense to my question/attitude/demeanor and told me that if I don't like it, to go somewhere else. I wanted it over with, so I asked him to do the re-check and he refused. Bad business. I'm sorry Hadi, but it is over. All those years of loyalty and referrals are now gone. If you don't get rid of this jerk, I am afraid your business will suffer more than the loss of my business and that of my friends. read more
