It's SO nice to find a company like Access to Freedom where your entire experience is one of pleasant satisfaction. I called Access to Freedom thinking I wanted an elevator to accommodate my ageing knees. Rick came out in a timely fashion, measured for an elevator and also talked to me about stairlift options. I was determined not to get an "ugly stairlift". Rick invited my husband and me to visit his showroom in Irvine to try the various elevators before purchasing one. It was an enlightening visit. We were given plenty of time in their pleasant showroom and I interestingly I felt a bit claustrophobic in the smaller elevator, the only size we could accommodate. We were invited to try the stairlift and, after looking at it scornfully, I rode it up and down a few times and found it quite comfortable, without the claustrophobia, and not bad looking. It was an easy decision. The stairlift has been installed, actually looks quite nice, and it's made a huge difference in my comfort level. I was very impressed with everyone that I came in contact with at Access to Freedom beginning with Trish at the Irvine showroom. I first had questions over the phone and she forwarded me to Rick. He was very helpful and did not rush the call. I went to the showroom to try the lifts and I was pretty much sold at that time. Kerrie came to our house within 3 days and was extremely helpful in determining the best model. I was initially considering the custom curved, but after looking at our layout it wasn't the best, so I was quite disappointed thinking now what am I going to do. I could not have been more pleased with my service and installation from Access to Freedom. First of all, they helped me with the mound of paperwork required by my HOA and interacted with the condo management in a timely way, providing all the necessary permits, etc. for this project to be done. We have a very tough HOA board, and boy did they have requirements. I couldn't deal with it. Rick, the big cheese, got them on the phone and it was like they were in their mothers arms. After reviewing the alternative stairlift companies and reading all the reviews on Yelp, we decided to go with Rick Mills' company, who installed the Stannah lift. Rick himself came out to our house to inspect and work up a quote. Since my wife needed the lift right away because of a knee injury and pending operation, he had it installed and operating 2 days later. Stannah has very good reviews as the lift manufacturer.
