    On February 10, 2026 I went with my father-in-law to Specialty Medical to purchase an electric…read morewheelchair. I was the one communicating with the owner, Doug, during the visit and he even texted me the receipt directly while I was standing there in the store. Within a day or two, around February 12th, we decided to cancel the order. From that point forward we spent weeks calling and trying to get a refund. On March 12th I texted Doug again regarding the refund. Screenshots of that conversation are included with this review. In those messages he discussed giving a partial refund and repeatedly asked that we remove the review. On Friday March 13th I personally went back to the store and picked up cash from Doug in the amount of $2,355. Even then the full amount was not refunded despite the order being cancelled almost immediately after the purchase. After I posted my original review about the experience, Doug began calling and texting me asking that I delete it. I have included screenshots of those communications so people can see exactly what was said. Doug also replied publicly to my previous review claiming that I was not a customer of the business. That is not accurate. I was present in the store during the purchase, communicated directly with Doug, received the receipt from him by text, and I was the one who returned to the store to collect the refund. I have also included screenshots of the original review that was removed. People rely on reviews when making important decisions, especially when purchasing medical equipment. Because of how this situation was handled and the communication afterward asking that the review be removed, I believe it is important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions. All of the statements in this review reflect my direct experience with this business and the communication I personally had with the owner. The gal refused to sell me one because she said mine was perfect for her, and didn't want to take my money. I was very impressed with that. Most entities would sell you one anyway, in my opinion. In fact, we went to another store first to buy a cane, and the lady sold us something that we couldn't use and try to sell us other things that we didn't really need. Long story short, we ended up buying a cane and eventually a electric wheelchair. They also gave us a sample of a CBD Balm, and said it will immediately take the pain away from my wife's arthritis in her knee - with a comment that "I know you will be back to buy the product because it has worked for everyone that I've done this with". They were right! The pain goes away immediately, and we have probably recommended this product to at least 10 to 15 other people who suffer pain from arthritis. What impressed me the most also, was the attitude of their customers coming into the store to buy something. Most of them seem to be repeat customers. I've also ran into friends that know the store, and say it's the best store for product, service and value. Everybody there is very professional, they know their products, and the service is way above any five star rating I could possibly give. Not only do I recommend this store, we also have become a part of their family.

He said the only way it could have broke in this manner was dropping it I had taken it on a trip and apparently the airline dropped it. I didn't report it right away, so I just paid out of pocket. Next trip, I will check immediately and file a claim if it breaks again. I heard this happens often with the Airlines. It didn't take long for the part to come in and the Scooter to be repaired. So now I'm out and about on my scooter, causing trouble. Whenever I need any supplies, I'll definitely go to Alpine. I give them a five star rating!

    Okay people, look no further for your home medical needs! This family owned & run store is…read moreabsolutely amazing for meeting all your needs! And they'll do it with knowledge, empathy and honesty. We first happened upon On the Mend's while outfitting our 93 yr old mother's apartment following a long stay in rehab. On The Mend had everything we needed to assure her safety and mobility needs. Very recently, we rented a reclining lift chair for my use following total knee replacement surgery. I was able to set up the entire rental & delivery by phone. They said they would arrive close to 10:00am on a certain date. My phone rang at exactly 10:00am on that date with On the Mend's delivery! Our stairway was too narrow to accommodate the whole chair so the 2 darling, helpful delivery guys took the chair apart and got it upstairs and ready for use! They did all this with big smiles and kept assuring me it was "no big deal". (Believe me, it was a BIG deal!) Today was chair pick up day and I was quoted a time of 1:00pm. To our delight and surprise, my phone rang at 12:59 pm! The two wonderful guys took the chair apart again and carefully moved it down 2 flights of stairs and out of our home. They were so incredibly careful of our walls as they navigated the stairways! I cannot recommend this small business enough! Please throw all your home medical needs business to this extraordinary family and store. They truly care and your needs will be primary to them. I can guarantee you they will have compassion, integrity, be timely, communicate well, be ultra polite and attentive to all your needs. On The Mend is what we wish all businesses operated like. Thank you especially to the young men who delivered and picked up our rental chair! You represented your family's company beautifully! We will never go anywhere else for any of our family's & friend's home medical needs! Thank you!!
