Horrible experience. Senate Pest Control outsourced my attic remediation to Accurate Insulation to remove all existing insulation, clean, sanitize, and install new insulation. Instead, they only removed part of the old insulation and then blew new insulation directly over insulation that was supposed to be removed. I had to go back and forth with Senate multiple times to point out that the work was not completed correctly. Eventually, Senate sent one of their own technicians to inspect the attic and confirmed the job was unacceptable. Accurate was then sent back out -- with the same two technicians who did the original poor-quality work -- along with a supervisor. I told the supervisor I was not comfortable having the same crew back in my home due to the quality of their previous work. His explanation was that the technicians were "confused" about the scope of work, which makes no sense given that the contract clearly stated all old insulation was to be removed and replaced. This entire process required constant follow-up on my part and should never have escalated to this level. The lack of oversight, accountability, and quality control was extremely disappointing. I don't understand the bad reviews. They did an excellent job for me at a very reasonable price. They did blow-in insulation to my new attic when I did a second-floor insulation. My general contractor uses them for all of his insulation jobs. Then I had them come back and install some white slat blinds in half my house. Their blinds are sturdy and longlasting and their per-price-window was very inexpensive, especially considering their price includes installation and measuring. In fact their price was 60% less than the Costco price and 30% other so-called discount online sellers. The only limitation is that they don't sell fabric blinds - only one style of white wood-like blinds. But they look good and if you have a bunch or windows to redo at the same time, you can't beat the price and service of Accurate Insulation. Tony did a good job for me and was very responsive to my calls and questions. read more

Just got blown past on the Dulles toll road by a driver doing 75 in a 55, he came within INCHES on side swiping me while I was doing the speed limit and proceeded to cut me off. When I called to speak to a manager, I got hung up on, no surprise (especially after reading previous reviews). I called back in to speak with management and nobody was available to speak, again, no surprise there. The dispatch lady gave me the lame excuse of "we're getting on our drivers now on how they drive", as their technician was still speeding off down the road. Got a guttering job done that took two months to complete, and even then somebody else had to come and fix the poor work. It should have been done in two to three days, tops. Wasted days: - Wrong materials - 2 days (2nd day they were trying to spray paint white elbows to match baked on finish of gutters and downspouts) - Showed without a crew for roof work (it's a two man job) - 1 day - No-shows (none weather related, no calls) - 5 days (yes, five!) During Hurricane Isaia, a ten foot downspout blew off. No wonder. The screws didn't attach the downspout to the joint, the only looked like they did. I'll have to replace the whole pipe and elbow. I will never again use or recommend this company. They have zero respect for anyone else's time and do shoddy work, even to the extent of trying to put one over on the customer by attempting to pass off the wrong materials as the right ones. read more

This company is just terrible. I can't speak for their insulation services because they never get that far. Here's the situation: 1) Scheduled an appointment for an estimate 2) On the day of the appointment, they called an hour before the appointment to cancel. On this call, they said they would know their schedule later in the day for what times were good. They'd call then. 3) They called several days later to reschedule, not "later in the day". 4) When the appointment time came, no one showed up. When I called to ask where they were, the questions weren't "what time is your appointment?" or "what is your name?" The questions were "what type of work is being done?" and "who is your salesman?" FIRST of all, I don't know who my salesman is and I don't give a crap. Makes no difference to me. Did I have an appointment scheduled? Yes. Arrive on time. SECOND, just ask my name and look up the appointment. This is absurd. It's obvious that this company has too many middle-men/women, and not enough people actually doing things. I like companies I can call where it's clear the person on the phone has a clue. Where it's clear that I don't need to be visited by a "salesperson" and I can just have a guy come out and take a look. This business is a joke. Find any other company. read more

My builders used them to put rain spouts up, the one over the garage door, the one everybody sees when they pull in, is bent, kinked , but not smooth like I paid for, they told the builder the ugly bent rain spout that I paid money to him for was ok, it would not hinder the flow of water, hahaaaha they would not replace it, so the Maryland BBB is guiding me on what to do. Horrible quality & service - our builder used them for garage doors, gutters and down spout installation, shower doors, door knobs. Everything they touched was a disaster. Our master bath shower is a disaster - every piece of flashing and trim they installed is falling apart after 1 year, our gutter installation was a disaster causing issues all over the house, door knobs they installed falling off the doors. In fact, the Chamberlin company (manufacturer of our garage doors) got so fed up with accurate insulation, that they had to find another authorized dealer to fix our garage door issues because after 9 months accurate Insulation could not resolve any of our door closing issues. Their own employees who came out to make a few adjustments stated, "this is one of the worst gutter installs we have ever done and this beautiful home did not deserve this poor quality install." But of course they blamed the builder, Smucker Homes. Overall, this company could cared less about doing quality work as they continued to take our money via our builder. Insulation Installation- A Superb Job So here's the bottom line - Outstanding! Here are the details. The driver arrived about 90 minutes late. However, my county was recovering from a crippling ice storm from the day before and driving conditions were still hazardous. I was thankful that they arrived at all. The service technician surveyed what needed to be done and explained what was going to happen. He took extraordinary measures to cover the floor leading to my attic with plastic coverage. He also asked if we could move some furniture so that the insulation hose wouldn't rub against it. Attention to detail was this young man's forte. He showed me pictures of the final outcome which was as I unexpected. I was really impressed having read some of the negative reviews in this forum. Furthermore, my experience with the sales and customer service staff was very professional and pleasant. To say the least, I'm very pleased with Accurate Insulation and would highly recommend them for attic insulation projects. read more

I use to work at this unorganized, dump of a company and I hope the bad reviews keep pouring in. Customer service is literally the least thing they worry about, the branch manager has no clue what's going on and they have the wrong people "working" in the office. (for the exception of 1). Driving 2 1/2 hrs, one way, most days, and wondering why we aren't out working more did it for me. So glad I left. Don't hire them for anything. Save yourself the headache. Accurate recently installed insulation in the exterior walls and the attic. The insulation applied in the attic was done haphazardly and without much care. The worst part was the mess that was left - a heavy layer of dirt, dust, and insulation residue was everywhere throughout the house. No effort was made to even minimally clean up. read more

Accurate Insulation is the WORST experience I have EVER had with a company. They were the original insulation company that was used when my house was built in 2014 and we recently found out that they didn't seal the top plates in my attic when the house was built, causing it to get pretty chilly in some areas of the house during winter. The builder of our house said they would have Accurate Insulation come back to fix it. We schedule a consultation and I am given a time frame of 8am-12pm. No one shows up until about 1:30-2:00pm. No one called to let me know they would be so late. When they come back a week later to actually seal the top plates and blow in some extra insulation they are of course late again. It was raining outside and after they sealed the top plates they roped a dirty, muddy hose through one of my bedroom windows to blow some extra insulation into my attic. During the process, their hose got clogged so they went outside and cut the hose open in my driveway, unclogged it and taped it back together. This left insulation debris all over my driveway. And the hose that they carried through my upstairs window and hallway (which I don't know why they don't bother to clean from previous jobs) left mud on my window, splattered muddy water on some of my artwork and furniture, and they accidentally spilled a big puddle of it on my carpet which I just had professionally cleaned a month ago. I spent over an hour cleaning my floors, vacuuming up debris on my carpet, and cleaning my windows when they finally left. Then I was wondering if they were so careless and sloppy with my house, how good of a job could they have actually done with the insulation? That's when I found the orange foam sealant seeping through and clogging both the vents in my master bathroom and seeping through one of the sprinklers at the top of the stairs. I WAS ABSOLUTELY LIVID. I demanded that the builder send me someone from a DIFFERENT insulation company to come inspect the work and fix any problems. It took 3 men from 9am to almost 3:00pm one day to fix and finish the work Accurate failed to complete. Turns out Accurate had only even sealed about 30-40% of the attic!!! They blew insulation over 2 of my recessed lights, which is a FIRE HAZARD!!! They had insulation between the water sprinkler pipes and the ceiling where there shouldn't be any insulation!! The supervisor of the new company I was using said he was surprised my sprinkler pipes hadn't frozen!!! They also used a different type of insulation from the original (which isn't bad, just not professional looking) and it was distributed very unevenly. I am absolutely appalled that they installed a fire hazard in my home and created a potential for frozen pipes. And of course that they made a mess of my house to not even complete the job or do any of it correctly. And not to mention all of my time they wasted for always being late, and me having to be home so much for all these different companies to come fix all their mistakes. Had attic blown in, walls, blown in, and spray foam under a crawlspace. 1. Salesman oversold. Promised an experience that was not delivered, suggested service options that were impossible, promised a timeline that was fantasy. 2. Scheduling is a mystery. Nostradamus was more accurate on when things would happen. Day before work scheduled to happen, ask sales guy (whose name is on the building) when to expect crew. Response is "8-10, probably 8-9". Phone call to office at 10:30--oh they should be on their way shortly after the job they are wrapping up. Show up at 1:30. Day 2, scheduler said "morning", arrived 12:30. Day 3, crew chief said 9-9:30, arrived 10:45. Upon completion of work, my wife sends detailed email of concerns and the company ask if they can send out a Quality COntrol manager. Schedule for a day when my availability is 10-2, receive call at 1:00 that QC manager is 1:15 away and will that work. Reschedule saying morning is good, afternoon bad. Guy calls at noon saying he'll be there in an hour or so. Reschedule for next day saying it MUST be between 9-10 due to business appts I have. 9:30 different QC manager calls to say he'll be here in an hour. The only consistent thing found in this business dealing was how inconsistent they are. 3. Dust and debris-- had to babysit crew and remind them to put plastic out on furniture etc. No ventilation or even open windows utilized. They picked up plastic before dust had settled so it was only marginally effective. They used my shop vac, used my swiffer, and left lots of dust in corners, not to mention every surface we had to clean ourselves the following day. 4. Poor wording on the proposal. Someone in my family writes and analyzes government policy so is a stickler for language. The wording on our proposal was maddeningly vague regarding the finishing of surfaces. 5. Poor/incomplete finishing that was allowable due to #4 and no prior notification of such. Holes drilled from outside through the weather barrier of the home were fit with a loose fitting plug--no sealant. If you make a hole through the exterior weather barrier, you make it tight again so water doesn;t get in to the nice potential sponge you installed. This seems basic to me. Interior holes were shoddily patched. Spackling compound splattered where it should not be, and tracked through the house on someone's shoe. Do not recommend. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I wish there was a ZERO STARS option because they don't deserve even one! They were scheduled to install my gutters on the 14th of this month (keep in mind we have already paid for this job to be completed). They called the day before to tell me there is a company emergency and they need to reschedule for Saturday the 17th. This is a HUGE inconvenience for myself and family, but I agree. They NEVER SHOWED! Called on Monday and said the installers pulled the jobs for Monday by mistake. I am thinking then come out today and install mine if you now have Monday's jobs complete. Oh no, they want to come on the Saturday the 24th. I once again rearrange our weekend plans. Today (the 23rd) they call at 10 minutes to 5pm and tell me they have no one willing to work tomorrow so their gutter manager will be calling on Monday to reschedule!! I think not! At first, we had a good experience and the sales person, David, was very attentive and involved. Then, the sales person "left the company unexpectedly". We were in the middle of trying to get the work done, and no one bothered to let us know. We literally heard nothing from the company for three weeks, and only found out after calling the company. Since we had already signed the contract, we proceeded. From then, we had to be proactive and make all the contact calls, emails, etc. They didn't bother doing anything and couldn't have cared less. The workers did a good job, especially the basement guy. After the work was completed, we were told by BGE that accurate insulation had not filed the correct paperwork to qualify for the BGE rebate. I contacted the company and they gave me the run around, promising to look into it, but never actually doing so. After several phone calls, they promised to call me back with the answers, but of course, never did. This company does not care about its customers. They make assurances and are polite when you call, but they don't follow through.
