Late September my AC went out and the next day I was hosting a baby shower. I called and they had a service man out within an hour. Price was fair (I did call around after I was told the exact problem) and service was exceptional. I will recommend this company to all of my friends for their AC needs. read more

The technician that came out did not seem confident. He was out to perform maintenance on my ac units. After almost two hours he said we needed freon added to one of the units. He wasn't sure how much the freon cost and was unaware of the promotion that included the first pound. He initially said the added Freon would cost $160. After filling it up he charged us $190. I called the office to ask how much the Freon should cost and the woman on the phone wasn't sure either. When she finally transferred me to Becky, the service manager, I was told the charge for Freon ranges from $80-$90 per pound. I was charged $127 per pound. All around poor service and very sketchy business practices. read more

I usually don't write Bad comments, but I have to do this one! I had the worst service experience with this company. I had one AC shut down in this May, call this company up, said will charge $69 for show up. When the tech. showed up, told them the A/C is just shut down. The technician Named Robert (really arrogant face) looked my air handler in the attic and condenser, said the motherboard in the air handler got fried. I asked him if he can repair that, he said that will take a while, and he don't know for sure if he can solve the problem. After that the tech. put his sales hat on, and starts his threatening, lie, and judgement. 1. Your AC is old, even say I can replace the motherboard (which he charges $760), I can't guarantee your AC will run. 2. Your condenser is really old, it could broken anytime. 3. In this heat, it almost a must to replace your unit (which he charges $9,000+), people die from the heat without AC.... 4. After he saw I get a Beemer X5, he said, I can't believe you own a BMW, won't replace your old AC, and looked at me with a really disgust looking and said I thought you should be smarter than this.... 5. After I say I don't have that kind of money to replace a new units, I will try some other technicians, he suddenly said I am not saying I can't repair it, because I can, I am just that good. (Really???Dude, so basically you can repair it, you just don't want to, so guys just charge $69 to show up and do nothing, what kind of worker you are??????) So, I sent him away because I don't want to spend the $760 or $9,000. I called another technician up, who showed up in 1 hour. And spent 20 minutes diagnosis and repair. All it is bad wire connection(I still have the picture), which was over heated. He told me the ACE guy didn't even open the air handler box, not even mention the motherboard burned. And the AC system is working really good, not a tiny problem. He charged $40, I gave him $60 to show my thankfulness. My AC runs like a charm to today (August 21). After been treated like that, my boss told me to contact the local attorney's office and report them, the local attorney office actually contact them, their response to the attorney's office is they tried to contact me several times, I never response, and willing to refund the $69. I actually never get any contact from them not phone call or email. So they lied to attorney's office as well. From the first gentleman that came to inspect existing unit & discuss options to the date of the actual installation, it was definitely 5 star service!!! Avoid this company at all costs! I purchased a new air-conditioning system less than 18 months ago from this company. On Wednesday of this week one of the hottest days of the year in Phoenix with the temperatures were above 114° in my neighborhood my air-conditioning unit failed. It turns out that a solder connection that was completed during the install fractured and most of the coolant was lost. When I spoke with the service manager he told me this was a feeling solder joint. I asked him to please explain the difference between faulty and failing at 18 months. He really did not offer up any real answer other than they were not willing to stand behind the work. There is no mechanical issues with unit other than there was a small weak and a solder joint. The solder joint was on copper tubing it was about the size of a large soda straw. I needed to have this done because my family was in my home and I was away at work. They had me at a disadvantage in charge me over $1700 for the work. They were also not charging me for labor. This included fixing that tiny solder joint which they placed less than 18 months ago and recharging my unit with 14 pounds of the refrigerant called R410A. This is available on the open market for about $179 for 25 pounds if you have an EPA card purchase this material. This has to be disposed of the few evacuate a system and put new coolant into the system. When I spoke to the area plumbers and AC people in my area they told me I had been raped and there is no reason that a joint should have failed in this period of time regardless of the heat. Ace made no concessions or tried to be reasonable concerning this matter. I'm perfectly fine paying for services especially quality services what I'm not fond of his being raped by contractors especially if it has to do with work that failed so early on after it had been placed. These people do not care about the quality of their work nor how they treat clients. I paid them for the services but would never recommend them in any way shape or form to anybody in my circle of friends my community or people in my employment. They told me in Nov 2016 that my AC was ready to die and I should purchase a new one right away. They pushed a discount - but "only if I agreed to buy today". I will not recommend this company. First I got a call from the telemarketer that they offer me a $19.95 tune-up and I scheduled it with them. The technician came and all he did was writing up what was wrong with my unit. He quoted me a job almost $750 asking if I want to have it "repaired." He couldn't explain to me why the repair was needed in the way that I could understand. When I mentioned that I have another A/C company I usually use, he started implying that the other company might had caused one of the problems on my unit. I declined getting the repair done right there mostly because I had other obligation immediately after and also because I wanted to get quotes from at least two other companies. Then right there I was offer a package to include all the repairs plus three-year guarantee for $200 less. I checked out the reviews before my appointment. To be honest, some of the reviews sounds too good to be true. If you want a good A/C company, use Day & Night. They gave me a quote over the phone which is less, reasonable and no hassel. By the way, $19.95 is not tune-up, it's only an inspection. The tune-up I was thinking about was $39.95 and the technician didn't even bother to offer that to me. read more

First visit was great. Confirmed the situation that we'd had another company say was the problem. 2nd visit they fixed the problem. All went well. 3rd time out, I felt scammed. He made it sound like a wiring problem in our thermostat. He said he'd fix it. He replaced the thermostat we had (Wi-Fi enabled, less than a year old) & put in this ugly thing without Wi-Fi abilities. I feel ripped off! I would've just bought one and had my hubby put one in again 5 times for how much he charged too do this. Then we, mistakenly, bought their service plan. Free yearly checks plus discount on any services done. They scheduled the free check up with me. My mother-in-law was going to be home with my baby so I confirmed they were only checking the outside a/c units. They agreed. Well, he comes out & wants to go upstairs. My mother-in-law says no because I advised her they'd just check out outside units. He leaves and doesn't even check the units outside. Then they call to say we refused them at the door. I called to reschedule & they were a no-call, no show! Called them back and left a message with a lady at the office. Nobody returned my call. This was at least 6 weeks ago. I was having trouble with my a/c unit and my friend recommended ACE to me. When I called to schedule an appointment, the service rep was extremely friendly and flexible with my schedule. They sent someone out the next day! The technician was prompt in diagnosing the problem and patient as he explained to me what the issue was. My unit is working great and it didn't even cost me as much as I was expecting. From calling their office to fixing the problem, the whole process was easy and stress-free, unlike other companies I have tried. Would definitely recommend ACE to a friend!! read more

Horrible dishonest service people .... After receiving a call from theACE AIR to get a special for service for 19.95 for 2 units I jumped on it considering I just bought the house and didnt have any history there. The units are only 6 years old so I wasnt expecting to much and I did just buy a home warranty when I bought the house. After 5 minutes of Skylar being there I was scared into thinking my units were having serious issues and that my home warranty company wasnt worth anything, and that I should buy there maintanance pplan for 895.00 wow!!! Now I am a a little scared and feeling the pressure, but I did decline that, then he said at the very least I shoild have my coils cleaned and was told if I didnt then my warranty would be voided due to dirty coils. So I accepted that and paid $310.00 for him to be outside less than 10 min and charge me 250.00 to clean the coils. He also told me myone contactor was bad and to call my warrantry company to get them fixed. So when Leading Edge Air came out to replace the contactors he also commented that both contactors were bad and wanted to know which one he said needed replaced. So I handed him my receipt from Cool Ace and he then asked what did you pay 310.00 dollars for? I told him that they cleaned my coils and he then said let me show you how to clean your coils and also show you that they were not cleaned at all this was only 5 days later after Cool Ace was there. Mud and dirt ran out plus he said proper cleaning would of been to take them apart and get all of the debris leaves and such out too. I didnt watch Skyler clean them but was very surprised at how little time it took him to do it. He also claimed I didnt have attic access which I do on the receipt . I have called and faxed my receipts over to Becky and then had a lovely conversation with a Service manager to be told they will not refund me my money even though they did not provide me with honest service that claim on all of there marketing. I have reported to BBB, small claims court will be next the ROC the and media is in the works. BUYER BEWARE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. 107 complaint with the BBB doesnt lie. I will keep it short and simple: besides the telemarketer quoting me a price 1/2 of what I was charged for inspection (GO SALES DEPT!!!), this "tech" wanted $60 to glue up a 1'X1' section of insulation that I did myself with a $2 can of contact adhesive. I used to love ACE. They installed our unit and managed our maintenance and yearly checkups for a while now. Something finally went wrong (of course) and it's been a week since they checked the unit and ordered the part. I got one call saying it would be another 7-10 business days after it had already been 3, for an extremely common part for an AC unit with a local factory. Basically, I'm learning that ACE is only good until you actually need something. Meanwhile, it's in the 90s here and we'll be at least another week with no AC. If I don't hear back soon and get this thing fixed, they're losing another star (they've already lost 3). read more

Ace no showed for our pre install appointment after I had my dad wait at the house all day for them. I had just talked to ace the previous day too and they said they would be there! As far as their integrity, Check out the dateline NBC TV show. Ace air was on it and got caught scamming customers. Unfortunately, this company installed ac units in my house two months ago. So far no problems with the units, but ace told us we didn't have to make payments for a year and wrote "18 months, same as cash" on the finance agreement. Then we started get late charges. Turns out Ace lied and told us we didn't have to make payments when we actually did. I wonder how much they profit from this. I wouldn't recommend trusting this company. Of course when I called about the financing issue (tried several people in the office) no one bothered to call me back and I kept getting transferred to voicemails. Ace takes their money and runs. If you want a company that refuses to stand by their work, sells you used AC claiming its new, then charges you an arm and a leg to fix it, well Ace Air is your place. Our "new" Trane AC broke down yet again, 4 years old and this is service call #12.... Funny thing now is, we are trying to sell the damn house and no one has been in the house for a month, AC hasn't been used in three or so and the inspector found a leak in the AC... The cherry on the cake, Ace has fixed 2 leaks in this unit already. This company sucks. They lie and blame Trane about a wiring issue before. I had to find a Trane rep showed him the pictures he laughed said their units aren't like that. Ace Air sucks, charged us 500 to fix a leak which shouldn't be. I have seen their ads for years but have not had to call. When I discovered a leak in one of our units, thought would give them a call. Shocked to find out that they will be there that very afternoon and showed up 2 hours later. Huge relief since 110 plus outside and have company coming. Ace Air responded to a warranty call from a roofer we used, because the Roofer actually pulled the unit enough to cause a short in a wire. The 1st technician responded, and couldn't figure it out....the 2nd technician responded and didn't know either. The 3rd technician finally fixed the problem due to a blown transformer and shorted wire. 2 weeks later, same issue. We called our regular A/C guy, and he found that they did a cheap fix (didnt ask details) on the wire and it shorted again. All was fixed with our regular A/C guy, who has 25+ years experience. Don't go around these guys - they don't know what they are doing. Don't believe their BS press releases or Ads either - 1 out of 3 techs that know what their doing? Give me a break.... read more

So far they are 4 hours late. I'm going to keep this simple and short. Ace Air basically lied to my face. I had three visits from them. The first guy told us that our A/C was going to die any day and he's never seen a unit that look so bad. I freaked out and went a long with him to purchase a new a/c unit through them, luckily I wasn't approved so I couldn't buy one. One month later it dies again, 2 more AA guys do the same thing. The last guy was just rude! My husband told him well we can't afford it so we will just wait till it dies completely...and the guy snapped back Well doesn't matter you need a new A/C..it will die! And me being gullible totally eating this up and thinking we're screwed! Okay this isn't simple and short so I'll wrap it up. My A/C broke again, we called Klimate King and the guy found the problem, fixed it and told me my a/c wasn't bad and not to worry. Jesus Christ! Why do people always want to screw people??? Thank you Klimate King! Give them business they aren't going to screw you like stupid Ace Air! So glad I called them...seriously! A year ago 06/2020 I purchased an ac system(13,000) from them had the worst experience with them. Techs told my husband and I that if anything happened the first 2 years that it would be covered under warranty. They came and installed the 1st system that didn't work and they had to bring another one. If it wasn't the new ac it was the new thermostat. I had a baby almost 2 months old in the middle of this heat with no air. Supervisor extended the warranty till 2023 because of everything that happened. A year later 07/23/2020 system is not working and they told me they will charge me for them to tell me what's wrong with ac plus for parts. I asked so what happened to the warranty and they said it was just a discount that's it that it would not cover anything. When I had told them what tech told us they pretty much said it was our fault for not reading the contract that we signed on his little phone and tablet. A year later new ac, paid 13,000 and it's not working in July with little ones at home. Unable to take them to the store or anywhere else that has ac or any ty because of COVID-19. They came Friday they couldn't fix it, they had to order a part. Today is Monday and still haven't heard anything from no one. Our AC unit was installed in 2011. We have given up trying to deal with them in spite of having 3+ years left on our 10 warranty!!! Problems started with an installation delay and cutting a hole in our hallway ceiling for the cold air return larger than the original cold air return. We cannot use standard air filters!! Most recently, over the past two weeks... They showed up for a service call, and rescheduled. The day of the reschedule the technician was a NO SHOW!!!! When using Ace for air conditioning issues PLEASE make sure you get quotes from other companies. I have had issues with them trying to substitute a cheaper unit on my previous house, minor thermostat & filter issues that took over a year to resolve. My current experience was a blower motor that went out within 30 days of the warranty expiration. Of course, they said its a special motor that has to programmed at the factory so its more expensive than a normal motor. These people overcharged the lady that originally purchased the unit, did not put in air returns, sold her an expensive maintenance program. Because of the way it was installed they had no filters to replace, they couldn't get to the coils to clean them so.... Anyway found a great A/C company to come out & pop a motor in, clean the dirty contacts for hundreds less than their quote. Just a regular blower motor, nothing special about it.
