I requested an appointment for a quote on a new install, and Ron gave me a date over two months out (this is an appointment to give a quote, not an install date) and asked for my information. I was not in a rush since there are other units that are working in the building, so I replied with the requested information and asked them to confirm the appointment date and give me a time window when they would be coming. I never heard back. So when I followed up, Ron gave me another appointment date, which was a week farther back from the original date. Since this was not a good start, I decided to cut my losses and pass on their "no-service". All the communications were done through Yelp messaging. If they prefer to do repairs instead of new installations, they should just say so instead of playing games. read more

So of course my AC decided to crap out during the heat wave a couple of months ago. I called quite a few AC companies in the area and only a couple called back and were all booked out for a week or so. Ron, however, not only picked up the phone, he was friendly and patient and suggested a few fixes over the phone to see if it'll get the unit running (it did, for a few days). He even called back a few days later to check to see how things are going, and that afternoon the AC crapped out again. They are busy also and booked out for a few days, but Tyler was able to come by and fix the frozen coil before the second heat wave hit. He and his team arrived on time and checked the unit from the outside to the attic and found that there was a small leak. Throughout the visit, Tyler was very good communicating what they are looking for and the issue that they've found and the repair required. I called ACE Mechanical, they sent one tech, Tyler, for evaluation and estimate. Tyler fixed my unit for only the $95 service fee and said my unit should last for years. Heater stopped working and I didn't know what the problem was, Ace Mechanical installed the heater about 17 years ago and their sticker was still on the heater so I gave them a call, Got the office gave them an idea of the problem, said they would have Ron give me a call, he gave me a call back within 10 minutes. Set up an appointment for the next day between 130 and 430, Tyler called at 115 and said he would be there in about 15 minutes. Tyler arrived right at 130, went up to the attic, did a little trouble shooting, came down and explained what he believed the problem to be, gave me an estimate, I gave approval to do the work, he pulled the part from his truck, climbed back up in the attic and replaced it, did some more testing to make sure that was the problem. Came back down explained everything that he did, and why the part he replaced caused the problem it did. Before he left I ask Tyler about the potential of adding A/C to the existing system, he gave me a brief overview of what would be needed and how they could do it and when I was ready Ron could come out and do a site survey and estimate. Bottom line they are professionals and value their customers, Tyler showed up on time and was prompt and got it fixed right the first time. I used Ron to fix a problem with my old electric central heater. It was stuck on a cycle and would not turn off. I had a handyman try to replace the old thermostat with a programmable one earlier without success. Ron installed the new thermostat after spending a long time figuring out the old style wiring on this dinosaur (yes, I will be replacing it soon!) He figured it out and got the new electronic thermostat working and the stuck heater fixed. On an earlier occasion, I called Ron to replace an old HVAC system for my rental. He came out to see if he could fix the old heater and give me a price for a new system, but I ended up using someone else to install a new system only because I was in a time crunch due to a new roof being installed, and he was one day too long on getting a new heater for me. I let him know I was sorry I couldn't use him that time. But he was a pro and also said he would not charge me for coming out and looking at the old system. read more

When I made the initial phone call on a Friday afternoon, Ron called me back within a very short amount of wait time. I was then given a 2 hour window of time for the tech to come to my residence on Monday. Tyler came out and knew right away what was wrong with our air conditioner. Of course it broke during this past heat wave and trying to find someone was almost impossible on a holiday weekend. We had another company come out on Saturday, he totally lied about what was wrong and wanted $3850 to fix our unit. I love knowledgeable technicians that know what they're doing. And when the technician is the owner but prefers to be known as a competent professional, well that is just something special! I needed someone to turn on my furnace after fumigation because the gas company refused stating that the unit might have been recalled. I had been through this before but could not prove that I did not own a recalled unit. Ron has been in business for over 20 years and he is so familiar with the recall that he was able to explain the recall issue (probably because he was one of the first professionals to report the defect and danger) and assure me that my unit was safe. I also thought some air ducts would need to be replaced because the outer plastic covering had torn but he said that it was just UV damage and not necessary. He further explained that I needed to look for insulation damage or air duct puncture before requiring replacement. I love honest professionals. I will definitely call Ron again when I need future repairs or replacement. read more
