I knew I had a few months to get it fixed. 74 degrees came and inspected and got a quote to address the issues. The person who installed it 17 years ago, wired it incorrectly and there was a potential for a fire. It was placed in backwards and was sitting on 2x4's. It was a mess. My dad's heater suddenly stopped working. Found these guys on Yelp and they were able to send someone before the end of the day. Turns out his heater needed a furnace pressure switch replacement. We had to wait a little less than two weeks for the part to come but once it did, Flavio did a great job installing and repairing it. He was honest and experienced. I liked how I got updates via text on when he was coming and they also texted me the invoice. Price seemed fair too. This is a pathetic attempt to mask your negligence. You took so long to call your insurance and through subrogation ( basically my insurance sued your insurance) was the house repaired. Did you forget my insurance went up. You say things like "it could happen to anyone", really just turn off the damn water next time. Absolutely no accountability. With the warmer weather, we switched to AC mode for the first time after installing our new HVAC system by 74 degrees. Unfortunately, the air out of the vents was not cool. Flavio was assigned to come to troubleshoot and repair our AC. He was very methodical in checking out various aspects and through his expertise, he found that our condensate drain was clogged. As a result, the safety switch shut down the cooling operation. He quickly unclogged the drains and meticulously cleaned it out, and our system was up and running! Beware!! I am a Los Angeles landlord with over 20 years experience. I hired this company to install over 5 heaters for me in 4 apartments less than 3 years ago. Within the first year the burner failed on one of the units. Annoying. Each year I am forced to re-light pilots to ensure I am in compliance with the law for my tenants to have heat. Now the digital thermostats they charged me $250 each for are starting to fail. I'm told they want to charge $99 just to look at it then if god forbid it needs to be replaced then I will need pay another nearly $300 bucks. For that kind of money I should have been able to use these heaters and thermostats for more than 2 seasons. And I went through the expense of buying 5 new heaters so I would not be bothered. I am bothered and out money on repairs for near new units. Save yourselves! I've taken my business to a new HVAC company that understands the value of taking care of customers who buy multiple units and have not been able to enjoy them. read more

My thermostats were performing inconsistently and overheating. After replacing them with thermostats of comparable spec and having similar issues, I gave 74 Degrees a call. On the high end for quotes, but well-rated, so I figured I'd get what I'd pay for. Boy, was I wrong. The tech arrived, and my partner told him that we have electric ceiling heat. He then spent the next 25 minutes looking for an exhaust or similar unit, going so far as to insist that we never had heat at all. Never mind that I had these units connected to a smart home solution, with a graph showing this. So determined to be correct, he pointed to one point in the graph, saying "this is the middle of the day. It could have been the sun." The temperature was stable at that point for three consecutive days, all hours of the day. In searching for the source of the heat, he inquired about: - A window-mounted AC unit with no additional fixtures - A wireless router - A wine fridge He then had the gall to say that our networking equipment was the cause of temperatures rising to 76 degrees in the apartment previously. After asking why it was only 67 at the time with all equipment running, he finally relented, and agreed to call his boss to inquire... who I imagine told him that we were probably right. After temporarily connecting the old thermostat, lo and behold: heat, from the ceiling. The issue turned out to be a need for line voltage thermostats instead of the low-voltage versions installed. It took another five minutes of fighting with him to confirm my understanding that we *could* keep using low-voltage thermostats, if we used a transformer. We asked to go that route for an estimate. Sheepishly, and after 30 minutes of walking him through every step, he left. After the was gone, I found that the wires--still live--in one one of the rooms were left exposed and protruding from the wall just above the light switch. Not capped, not taped, not tucked into the existing mount, just waiting for someone to graze their hand against. To add insult to injury, the estimate came in at over $900 to install new thermostats, which is 1) outrageous, and 2) not the remedy I asked for. Normally I don't mind spending money to make sure something is done fast and right, though I truly wish I spent the money on a digital multimeter instead. Save yourself the headache and go someplace else. read more

If I was reviewing just the company I would give them 3 stars and here's why. They kinda pulled a bait n switch with their initial quote. I was advised upon my initial inquiry that the service fee for two wall heaters was $74 each and that if I did their maintenance I would get a rebate of $50 off each service fee which sounded like a great deal. Well .... that wasn't accurate. After I elected to do the maintenance on both wall units I was charged full price of $446. when I queried it I was told "oh that rebate is only if the maintenance cost is more than $850" What a cop out! However, Leonardo was the saving grace for this company. He deserves 5 stars!! He was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and honest. He took care of both wall heaters, offered some great recommendations, worked quickly and cleanly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Our mini-spit system is just over 6 years old and wasn't getting very cold. I called a different company and after a visual inspection was told it had a leak, wasn't wired correctly, and had to be moved to a new location. This didn't sound right bc it had been in that location working perfectly for over 6 years. 74 degrees came out took off the cover and ran some tests. It turns out it need the Freon replaced.
