There were definitely some challenges along the way, especially with permits in our city. Apparently it is much tougher than others when it comes to permits, and it ended up requiring a lot more paperwork and extra effort than he expected. Even with all that, Cyrus stuck to his original quote and never tried to charge us more, which we really appreciated. Jaime and Jesus handled the installation of the air handler, ductwork, and heat pump. They worked hard, were very respectful of our home, kept things clean, and honestly were much quieter doing the work than I expected considering all the cutting and installation involved. They also worked hard to finish ahead of the timeline they originally gave us. Inspection passed with no issues, and now we've been using the AC for months with zero problems. Overall, we're really happy with the work and would definitely recommend them.

He started by telling me that the three ceiling registers that we have (along with 6 in-floor registers) were the furnace returns - sight unseen, he told me I don't know my own HVAC system. Then, when I mentioned that we weren't able to run our Nest in "fan-only" mode because of a limitation of the furnace wiring (which was unrelated to the work we were trying to get quoted), he proceeded to investigate why our Nest would force us to have this restriction (only to discover that once again, we were right). The straw that broke the camel's back was when we were trying to ask him about the "communicating thermostats" that come with heat pumps these days - they claim to have additional features, like humidity control, that make the variable-speed heat pumps even more functional and desirable (including the AC Pro, which was the brand he had recommended for our house). He claimed that there were no such thermostats, and that all a thermostat does is turn the unit on & off. We were literally looking at the manufacturer's website, at the thermostats they offer, when he was saying that they don't exist. When we tried to explain what we were seeing online, he said that there are a lot of things on the internet that aren't real (like Freon for $5/gal or whatever it was that he said was an example of fake things from the internet). I think "the internet" is a vast place and I do not expect it to be 100% factual in content, but generally speaking, an HVAC manufacturer's website is not going to straight-up lie about their available products. He came up with one interesting idea about flipping our furnace upside-down to push all the air up into the attic (so we could get rid of our floor vents, which was the job we were trying to get quotes for), but decided in the end that it was not worth the money given that our furnace is two decades old. I appreciate the ingenuity and the ability to think outside the box, but I didn't appreciate being treated like an idiot, repeatedly. Plus, his quote was the most vague of the three we were provided - just scrawled notes on a sheet of paper, no details, no model number, no breakdown of costs. He's probably great at repairing systems, so I gave him 3 stars for that reason.

After a quick search on Yelp, I found this company and they were literally walking distance from me in Lawndale. I figured I'd give them a shot. And so glad I did. Greg was very flexible in working w/my schedule and we figured out a date and time to come out and take look at my furnace that kept cutting out. During the visit he was very friendly and polite and most importantly, super thorough evaluating and repairing my unit. He showed me pictures he took and everything he diagnosed, fixed the immediate issues and made recommendations that weren't urgent, but to keep an eye on for next time. I couldn't have been more pleased. I feel very "comfortable" Controlled Comfort is my new long-term HVAC maintenance and repair service.

I searched for another HVAC company and found Pure Air. They sent a technician out that same evening, and he fixed the problem within an hour. What impressed me the most was the technician, Mikhail. He clearly knew what he was doing and worked with great attention to detail. He took off his shoes before entering to keep the floors clean, and he handled everything carefully with clean hands so he wouldn't leave marks on our matte white walls. (The previous technician had left dirty handprints all over the wall and the indoor AC unit.) Not only did Mikhail fix the problem quickly, but he also treated our property with genuine care and respect. That's something we really appreciated. The next time we need any HVAC service, we'll definitely be asking for Mikhail again. Highly recommended!

I hired Lions and they did some work to try to mitigate, but said that it would be a problem down the line. Down the line arrived and I called Lions back when my AC was dripping excessive water. Turns out it was toast and needed replacement. I got a quote for replacement from them quickly. I shopped around and theirs was a little higher than others (5-10%ish) but I felt they had a very thorough quote that explained every step they would do, so I went with them. For the install, it was easy/quick to schedule. They told me it would take 3 days. Lions sent their subcontractors who did a really good job. It took the full 3 days to do the full install, and they were quiet, efficient, polite, and cleaned up after themselves. They did not damage my paint or walls at all. During the work, they determined there would be incremental work needed to make the system work more efficiently. They ran everything by me and asked permission before, and quoted me the incremental costs. In the end, I felt like it was the right thing to do. They spent time making new vents and ductwork for me for what seems like a very small incremental price for the amount of work. At the end, I asked them to walk me through all the work on video to explain the system which they obliged happily. One note is that my building HOA is very strict about going on the roof and doing installs to avoid damage to void the roof warranty. The roofers said they would charge me an egregious amount to supervise the HVAC guys to make sure it was done right. Instead, I got permission from my HOA not to bring the roofers as long as Lions did not damage or modify the roof. I explained this to them and they did a perfect job reusing the old mounts so no roof modifications were needed, saving me some liability. In the end, the new AC unit works very efficiently quietly and has new features to prevent the same problems my last one had. New AC will burn a hole in your pocket no matter what, but I'm glad I had it done well by Lions.

Between…read moregetting charged $3,000 every few months for, "topping off freon" (note: my system was installed new in 2018, so I'm not even sure if freon was the refrigerant the system needed), to proposing a $20k install of a new unit while mind was under warranty (twice), to claiming that my warranty was invalid until I set up an email thread with my HVAC company and my repair team to prove that my system was under warranty, to finally claiming that the local supply shop was "out of parts" for 6 months straight (I eventually called the shop, and they confirmed that they haven't been able to get a response from the repair team.). LONG STORY SHORT, I've been through HVAC hell, and finally decided to go with a new, local company with stellar reviews that recognized my system's warranty. Mario came to inspect the system, identified the repairs that needed to be made, was in and out within 2 hours only a day after I requested service, and not even $500 later I'm enjoying a cool, air-conditioned home. Extra points for not trying to upsell me on an entirely new system (lol - happened to me twice since buying my home, neighbors actually warned me about non-local HVAC companies), AND I can safely say that when I DO eventually need a new HVAC system, I'll be going with Manny's. Following a very thorough diagnostic assessment of the overall unit, Jesus suggested that we hold off installing any new parts at this time, as the system is somewhat old and doesn't provide any specifics concerning what needs to be replaced. Indeed, I appreciated Jesus's honest and straightforward assessment, as opposed to relying on guesswork to resolve the problem. At this point, I expect that we will likely be replacing our aging unit sometime this year....and, without a doubt, Manny's will be the company I call to do the job. Since our vehicles use premium, the Hawthorne location has been consistently lower so far for us.

Hawthorne is located right off the 405 Rosecrans exit going west. The price is better and you can get right back on the 405 south from the signal at the Costco exit. With hours until 10 PM during the week, there's little to no waiting in line to fill up. This is a no brainer for anyone in the South Bay living fairly close to the 405, 110, or 105. Since they always have staff working during business hours, it's a lot safer than a lot of gas stations in Gardena, Lawndale, Hawthorne or nearby areas at night. No people harassing you for spare change or trying to pump gas for you. Credit and membership only eliminates many problems. Plug the gas is Top Tier (high quality like major refineries). $4.69 for regular as of 7/3/26.

I actually put his info on my company's message boards for colleagues in the area to call :) Today he came out for an emergency visit (yet another surprise sewage backup into the house, so gross) and was promptly here at 8 am on a Sunday. Did the job in under an hour and showed me the pipes on the camera to indicate where the major root buildup was. The 1 star reviews really surprise me - to anyone shopping around, do NOT look elsewhere. Broc is 10000% your guy.

I struggled with whether or not I would write this review, but ultimately decided to in case it helps someone else. I had previously given this company five stars because of the great technician that came over. I still stand by the fact that all of the technicians we've had to service our equipment every six months have been great. HOWEVER, the reason for this low review rating now is due to their sales tactics. It's now happened twice, so we've decided to stop working with this company. The first high pressure sales tactic happened when our water heater broke. They sent a technician out (great), but then followed that with the supervisor, who I would say acts as their "closer" (not great). This guy tried to sell me a $9000 water heater, telling me why I needed a commercial grade system, yada yada. I ignored it and had someone else install an $800 water heater that is working just fine. But I was left with a sour taste in my mouth because I felt super pressured, and he tried to scare me into getting it. But I ignored that, and we continued to get good service from this company. Then on one of our regularly scheduled service visits, the technician said our system was not looking good and we should replace the whole thing. My husband and I met with another supervisor (this one was a nice guy, not as high pressure -- so we thought), and he explained what was happening with our system. He said the replacement would be around $25k. We said that for that much money, we needed to think about it and get another quote. He called the boss, and immediately dropped it down to $20k because it's not the busy season right now. He also said we could sign now and pay $1000 deposit, but that he didn't even need to charge our card and we had 5 days to think about it (because it's part of CA law, the right to cancel). OK, we caved and signed. But then we realized we just didn't feel right moving forward with this huge expense without doing our due diligence -- and that our card had already been charged the $1k deposit. So I emailed the supervisor to cancel and ask for a refund. He did not respond to me. I then called the office to cancel and she would not allow me to cancel on the phone and said I had to email it. So I emailed the office and asked for an email back to confirm they got my cancellation request. No response. So I again called the office and asked for confirmation. She gave it to me over the phone, but I asked for it by email (they wanted it in writing, so did I!). She said she would "ask her supervisor" to send the email. Never came. It was really interesting to see how responsive they were when we were paying them and how attitudes totally changed when we were unsure about moving forward. The crazy part is that I hadn't even said we weren't going to use them. Just that we wanted to think about it and get another quote. We were still considering using them in the future. But I honestly feel like we dodged a bullet, given the treatment when they weren't getting what they wanted. All of this was such a waste of my time and energy. I have never written a review this long before. But I'm writing it because I was a happy customer that was turned into a disappointed customer. When I had previously checked American AC's reviews, the majority of the negative ones had to do with sales pressure and tactics. Now I see why. I hope this review helps someone who might be on the fence, or helps the company to stop with the high pressure tactics followed by rudeness when they don't work. read more

I have used American Air Conditioning and Heating for a few years now. * Brent: Previously serviced my HVAC unit, which was about 20 years old. He took photos and showed me the wear and tear on the unit (located on my 2nd story roof) and advised it would likely need to be replaced in the next few years. Was honest and up front. 7/10/2017: * George: came to inspect the unit, the same day I called for service, and found it to be in a state that was not recommended for repair. Again, taking photos and showing me its current state (completely frozen over), explaining in detail what the multiple issue were. Was honest and up front on the pros and cons of attempted (very) short term repair vs. long term replacement. * Brent: also came to inspect the unit and gave the same opinion. Went over replacement and warranty options, pricing, and walked through the end-to-end process. * George and Brent: both worked with the office contacts and my HOA to ensure everything was approved as quickly as possible for replacement (we are in a wonderful Southern California heat wave - the interior of my home was about 90 degrees on the second floor). They coordinated the crane service and the city permits, all as part of the services they provide. I didn't have to step in for anything other than choice on the replacement, the warranty, payment, and being available while they were at the house. They even started disassembling the old unit (took those parts with them when they left), showing me the failing parts, where they were compromised and explaining why, so the removal process would be quicker. They left me with no doubt that I had made the correct decision to replace the unit and not attempt to repair. They also arranged for a portable AC room unit to be delivered to get us through to installation day. 7/11/2017: the portable AC unit was delivered as promised 7/12/2017: * Eric & Eric arrived 30 minutes before I was expected them (this was a pleasant surprise). They immediately got to work on the roof, so when the crane arrived, the removal of the existing unit would be quick. The new unit was delivered soon after, and while they waited for the crane to arrive, they prepped the new HVAC unit in my garage, to help expedite installation once it was on the roof. Their crane service was great - the old one was removed and the new one was placed in a very short time, without issue. They completed full installation, testing the heater (yes, in July) and then running the AC, and sticking around to ensure all was working as intended (I know this is expected, but you don't always get what's expected, even when paying for services). They removed the portable AC unit when they left, so I do not need to make arrangements for that to be picked up another day. Overall, everyone I have worked with has demonstrated credibility, integrity, and an honest concern for their customer's climate comfort. While I see that some of other reviews mention a higher price with American, I am confident that my money was well spent (you get what you pay for - and they also offer a 30 day, 100% price difference guarantee, with an extra 10% up to $500). We purchased The Supreme Service for our furnace and air conditioning from American Air. The installation on 4/3/2021went great and the installers were really professional and did a good job. The first time the air came on it was so loud it sounded like a cannon going off and the fan unit was making sputtering sounds. I called American Air and a technician Dusty came out. He took the cover off from the back and made some adjustments and it was still loud but not as bad. He tightened all the screws and the sputtering stopped. A few days later the compressor got loud again and the sputtering started up again also. I called American Air again and another technician came out and couldn't find how to stop the noise. Another technician Filemon came out and tightened the screws again and the sputtering stopped again. He determined that he could put a cover over the condenser and lessen the noise which he did when he came out again. It did help some. We have had at least a half dozen technicians come out since the original installation an the sputtering noise still continued. I called again and expressed my frustration and was told that Filemon would be out with a person that would make a determination if the unit needed replacement but that person never showed up. Only Filemon came out and he decided that the sputtering was coming from under the top cover and ordered a replacement. I cannot say enough good things about American Airs technicians. They all did their best and they made a good impression on their work ethics and all were very understanding of my frustration. My biggest disappointment was in the company itself and how management handled the issue. I was told that the only way the unit would be replaced was if the compressor malfunctioned and not for noises. My only positive experience was with the installers and the technicians. I could not in good faith recommend American Air. I'm stuck with what I have. Joseph M. Our old central air system went out last week Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, we signed a contract with American Air Conditioning for a new unit installation, and the job was to start on Saturday. Alex, our diagnostic/sales technician, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He even arranged for a portable air conditioning unit to be dropped off since they could not start the job until Saturday, 06/20. The Installers, Garrett, Carlos and Juan showed up on time on Saturday, were polite, careful and courteous. 5 Stars to our installation team. The only issue we encountered was with the person responsible for scheduling the job. Our previous unit was over 22 years old, and as such, the team had to make a lot of on the spot adjustments, while working in an attic where the temperature exceeded 130 degrees. The guys were dedicated to finish the job, and Garett came back on Sunday (with a couple of apprentices) to work on the job. They had to come back for a third day today to wrap up the work. Unfortunately due to a scheduling mix-up, the guys were asked to leave and go to another customer's house without completing our install. I contacted their manager, Kevin, and informed him that this was not acceptable, since our one day install job was now on its third day (at no fault of technicians), and they should be allowed to finish their work before being dispatched to another location. At times the discussion became heated. I believe before scheduling the technicians for another assignment, the scheduler should inquire about current task the technicians are working on, and how much time it would take to complete it. Additionally, every work order should have a buffer time built in, in case of unforeseen circumstance. Case in point, the guys were almost done by 4:00 Pm, when they found out that the exhaust pipe for CO2 had a hole in it due to improper packaging, and they had to run to their supplier to pick up a new one. This is my first Yelp review. I don't do these because I've heard so many of them are fake I don't put any weight in the reviews. BUT, I am reviewing American Air because they have been terrific. My mother used them for years and years. She was on the maintenance plan and they were great at making sure the bi-annual services were done and everything was kept up. When she passed away 2 1/2 yrs ago we did not continue with the maintenance plan UNTIL . . . my heater would not work in January during one of our rough California cold snaps. ;-) I tried to use a different home insurance that was purchased and it was SUCH a hassle! It was difficult even getting someone out in a timely manner. They wanted to schedule out 2 or 3 days (meanwhile I'd be freezing my tail off). Then the person they connected me with sounded drunk, first of all (he was slurring his words), but he sounded very unprofessional. He sounded more like a one dude operation that seemed bothered by the work. He complained about coming out during the afternoon because of traffic. If your job takes you throughout the city to make service calls I would consider that as one of the hazards of the job. Anyways, this is getting much longer than I planned . . . American Air came out promptly, they call you a half hour or so before the technician will be here. They call again when he is here. They have all been SO professional, clean, organized, knowledgeable. Ruben was my last technician but they have all be great. Ruben and another tech served in the military and I, for one, appreciate their service and for me it instills trust because of the discipline and work ethic they had to have to be successful in the military. I highly recommend this company. I feel extremely comfortable knowing that they "have my back" so to speak for my heating and air conditioning needs. read more

Having never had my furnace serviced since it was installed 45 years ago, I accepted Jim's offer from American Air Conditioning & Heating to have this done for $99. I replace the filter every year and the unit functions well, but I was intrigued by his claim that I'd save the $99 in gas bills over the next five months. As it turns out, the qualifier in the flyer states that this guarantee is valid if the tech certifies the unit as fully functional. Because of tiny cracks the tech, Johnny V. found in the heat exchanger, this guarantee doesn't apply. But he spent over two hours examining it in detail and took the time to show me the tiny cracks using both a mirror and a camera. He also measured the gas pressure and cleaned the burners, all the while explaining what he was doing and what he found in detail, as well as their impact on performance. He then measured the amount of carbon monoxide coming through the vents into the house. He found none. Since this is the real measure of the unit's safety at this time, I decided not to pursue a follow-up, which would involve getting a quote to replace the unit. No pressure at all. But now I know that because of the tiny cracks in the heat exchanger, the unit will need replacing in the not-too-distant future. The important thing for this review is that Johnny V. was extremely professional and competent. He did all the keep-the-house-clean things described by other reviewers, but more importantly, he did a thorough exam of the unit and discussed with me each thing and its impact on performance and lifetime. And he is a nice guy to boot. I couldn't have asked for more. Well worth the $99. read more

I have written a review every time this has happened and they seem to have all disappeared...yep yelp reviews are not "purchased." This company is just the worst. For the last 5 years they have constantly sent mail to my DEAD husband. It hurts me every time I get one, which is often. On top of that, each and every time I have told them that I do not have a furnace (often the main subject of the ads) and don't want one..and my air is brand new mini splits! I have called and spoken to someone asking it to stop on multiple occasions. I have emailed and asked it to stop MANY, MANY times. I have unsubscribed 3 times on the site as instructed after my last review about a year ago as directed by the scammer owner. Each time I call, email, write a review or unsubscribe I am ASSURED that they will stop. Each time I am given new excuses. It never ends. Well, yesterday I got another one. You people are the worst! Don't fall for the reviews that the techs ASK customers to write after the customer tells them they are satisfied. There are enough bad reviews here. I find it very odd that reviews are not listed in chronological order or by satisfaction rating. That strikes me as manipulation of reviews. I have several friends that used them who where there were problems....none of them were asked to write a review. How on earth can you trust someone that has ignored your request to have them NOT send mail to your DEAD husband, dozens of times over 5 years to do good work and be reliable? [Update - Improved Experience, Raising to 3 Stars] After my earlier experience with American AC Heat & Plumbing, I was disappointed with their service and left a 1-star review. However, I want to acknowledge that they eventually made things right, so I'm updating my review and adjusting the rating to 3 stars. Brenda, who I believe is their customer service manager, made a clear effort to reach out to me -- through phone calls and even certified mail -- to address my concerns. She emphasized that there had been a miscommunication on their part and that they truly wanted to achieve customer satisfaction, which I appreciated. On 2/19, they came back to replace the damaged and problematic shed. While they originally scheduled a 9-10 AM start, they suddenly moved it to 7-8 AM the day before, which was a bit inconvenient. That said, the shed they installed was the promised size, and this time, they properly fit the rusty expansion tank inside rather than leaving it exposed. The shed also appears to be leak-proof, which is a huge relief. However, they screwed the shed door shut, so I haven't been able to fully check inside yet -- I plan to do that soon to make sure everything is in order. Overall, while the process was far from smooth, I appreciate that they ultimately followed through on their commitment. Given this resolution, I'm raising my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. If they had been this responsive from the beginning, it would have made for a much better experience. read more

We bought a completely new a/c and heating system after our 15 year old one gave up the ghost. The installation took 2 days and went flawlessly, even though I knew the installers were running into unexpected problems due to very little room in the attic crawl space, a bad pump and probably other things I wasn't aware of. Never did they ask for more money or more time and they pulled out all the stops to get the job completed when promised. Nothing in the previous a/c system was up to the current code and although the inspector hasn't been around yet (he or she should be here within two weeks) I feel confident with the professionalism and high standards that I observed during the installation. Dusty and Kevin, Brent (the salesman) and Garrett were all great and at various times, they called in additional workers who I didn't get to meet but all of whom seemed to work well together. Heavy cloth tarps were put down to protect the carpet and when anyone needed to walk on my carpet, off the tarps, they put on paper shoe covers! Clean up was great both inside and out. They even covered my welcome mat with theirs so mine didn't get dirty. One of the ladies in the office called no more than 10 minutes after the job was done to see if we were happy. Dusty and Kevin were probably still in the truck in the driveway! I highly recommend these guys. read more

I dont remember it being this cold in a long time and I have lived in so cal for 51 years. I went to turn on my heater and it didn't turn on a few weeks ago. I had the gas company out they said it was a recalled furnace. (The name was premier, there is no recourse since the company declared bankruptcy) I called a few companies and scheduled estimates. I ended up choosing American Air for the following reasons. 1 showed up on time, 2 I met with Jim Jr (I believe owners son) and he answered all of my questions. He also referred me to a great sprinkler guy since mine wasnt getting the job done. 3 They were a better value and are installing a humidifier to help my sons allergies (doctor prescribed) one of the other companies didn't even know how and wouldn't quote it. Now the installation begins. They show up on time. Lay down drop cloths almost everywhere. Explain to me what they are going to do. Jim Jr drops by mid day to review everything. I thought that was a breath of fresh air seeing the salesman again. Usually they never come back. Guys get the unit fired up and I am happy. They clean up then leave. Now for inspection a company has to come out and test my ductwork (no Additional charge). My ductwork passes. Next day inspector comes out. Hes a normal inspector, show him around and I pass. This was my experience. I'm happy and warm. read more

I don't give perfect scores--ever. But I have to say, I just can't find anything American AC&H did wrong. Honestly. I had a horrible experience with an earlier AC&H company (Reliable), whose people didn't show, never called, and didn't return calls. American AC&H was here the next day, texting AND calling to confirm the appt. The team that showed up was smart and truly likable. Moises, Charlie and Johnny took care of me, while the dispatcher Sydney made sure things went smoothly operationally. Even Jim, the son of the owner, showed up to make sure everything was done to the highest standards. They took pictures/video of the unit to show me what needed to be done and why. And that's how they discovered the serious cracks in my 20-year-old heating system, which can be dangerous in terms of carbon monoxide. (The prior heating company missed that entirely.) They also shared the video/photos with the owner back at the main office who personally double-checks every single job. What more, American AC&H even does follow-up inspections to make sure everything is going smoothly, calling after the job to ensure everything was working smoothly. And THEN, they plan to come back in six months to double-check everything again and even change my air filters for free. In my view anyway, that's 5-star service. read more

Wow, these guys are truly imazing. Our unit took its final breath after 21 years about two weeks ago. This was a complete shock to us and we where not ready to spend thousands of dollars on a new unit. But living in CA this is a necessity not a luxury for sure. Not knowing who to call we just went online and picked American. We are so glad we did! Everyone, from the girls that answer the phones who are always cheerful and happy sounding ( I'm sure they don't always feel like that), to the sales person who came to our home who was so informative and never pushy to get the business, down to the installers who did a fantastic job in record time. My husband followed the forman around like a puppy dog because he wanted to learn and the man was so accommodating and answered every question my husband had with a true smile. The prices are very compatible to other companies. They even tell you that if you find a cheaper company they will match that price (we never did since we where so comfortable with them). The unit is now installed and is working better than even I expected. So glad we took a shot in the dark and came across this gem of a company. A lot of businesses can and should learn from their business practices. Well done American Air and Heating!!! read more

Called American Air when my AC stopped working last week, I get their mailers and kept it on hand "just in case". They came out the next day and unfortunately the bad news was my older system was kaput and it made more sense to put in a whole new system rather than put an expensive band aid on the old one. Brody & Ernie were here early the very next day to install and by the following morning I had an entire new system in place, far better than my old AC. Brody & Ernie were fantastic, friendly, polite and really responsible with my home. My house is very eclectic and full of vintage furnishing, art and decor. Brody and Ernie were super conscientious about cleanliness and being careful around all my stuff. Brody looks incredibly young, but don't be fooled, I found him to be extremely and knowledgable beyond his years and able to answer any questions I had as well as just being a really nice guy. I actually enjoyed having these guys in my home, told them to come back to hang out any time they wanted, ha! Positive shout outs to Brent and Dusty as well. The system wasn't cheap, but I'm confident I now have a far superior product to my last one and the 12 year guarantee and every 6 months maintenance plan certainly provides some worry relief. read more

Alex D from American Air Conditioning & Heating inspected my A/C heater unit today as scheduled. First of all I want to emphasize how knowledgeable this guy is about heaters and A/C, he is also very courteous and punctual. He took the blower motor from the unit and showed me how disgusting it was inside due to poor duct's insulation and previous "SEARS " installation. He cleaned the motor and installed a new filter and gave me three options to resolve the problem. He did not try to sell me anything as other people do, he explained to me that my system is not operating as it should, I know because we get a lot of dust inside the house and the A/C stays on a long time before reaching the desired temperature. He also explained to me that they do not clean the ducts and call it a day like their competitors do. They sanitize everything, the motor, inside the heater, the ducts and all the vents and make sure that the hot or cold air does not leak from anywhere taping and sealing every duct junction twice. I told him that I will call him back after reviewing my options, and again, he did not try to rushing me into buying anything. I am very happy with this company and Alex D and I will use them again and again. read more

This company has taken all of the things you hate about dealing with service companies and elimated them, everyone I talked to Hillary, Erica, Heidi, DENISE!! Have been beyond courteous and helpful, Chris from Sales, knowleadgeable, professional and courteous was first to come to my home wearing booties and put a large door matt in front of my door as did anyone who entered, work started same day as there was a crew close to my home, who does that! My Service Technician Jason Martin and his helper Ernie were top notch, Jason's work is impeccable, he treated his helper with consumate respect, as well as my family and home, he not only explained everything i questioned but why and how it all worked together, there were technicians working outside while he worked inside, unfortunately I cannot remember their names but they're work was of the same high quality as everyone I have named, the new unit was hooked up to existing service, replacing my old A/C and Heater, existing closet for old heater was so small I couldn't believe they managed to get it in place, the job took two and a half days, oh, and I almost forgot, they provide portable air conditioners for you until the job is finished. This company is the BEST! My father was home hospice for many years-outliving his doctors expectations. During that time, we all had headaches. After the funeral we decided to have the heating/ac looked at. The technology that this company has is amazing! Thanks to them, honestly, they saved our lives!! We replaced the furnace, six months later, the a/c and then 6 months later the air flow ducts. We installed an excellent system which has truly improved the quality of the air within the home. To say that people NOTICE, is an understatement. It is the best investment we could have possibly made. The service from the initial contract signing to the service we receive for the units is beyond words. The techs are always on time-or they call to let us know when they will be there. They are clean, polite, helpful. They have gone beyond normal service standards. My Mother asks them to check the batteries on the detectors...and they do so just because. I can say that I have yet to meet anyone within the company who not been polite. The service contract is something we will never cancel. This company is completely worth the service. After listing both Yelp* reviews and complaining to the company regarding a customer service experience I recently had with one of their scheduling representatives, American called me. It wasn't expected either. The woman who called gave me a very sincere, very heartfelt apology even going as far as saying the experience may be used as a training scenario. While I never mentioned or suggested, they offered to refund our cost for the contract. I declined that offer knowing I'd feel guilty. I'm just not the refund-seeking sort of guy. They insisted however, both refunding us and promising they wouldn't let us down again. THIS is the way business should be run. Not that the customer is ALWAYS right mind you, but the fact that someone with the company went out of their way to call, to hear me out, to tell me HOW they plan to remedy any similar problems in the future and insisting I accept the refund. I can't recommend them enough. Their maintenance guys are always incredibly friendly, crisply dressed with i.d. and willing to answer any questions on ac/heat with no rush. Awesome company, great customer-service follow through, good prices. Love 'em! read more

We have been using this company for 7 years. Hank Sutter used to be our technician for those years and we were absolutely happy with his services. For 2018, Hank got promoted, and Jarrod Mattson is our technician, and Jarrod is an absolutely amazing professional who has exceeded our expectations in every single visit to do maintenance for both of our heater and air conditioner, twice a year. Like Hank, Jarrod is extremely knowledgable, skillful, diligent, customer-driven, detail-oriented, charismatic, smart, and very honest. Jarrod is very respectful, polite, and very mindful of our requirements and doing his job beautifully. Jarrod cleaned up the job site very nicely every single time, wearing shoe covers, very professional, pleasant manner, personable and is very clean. He even helps out with other related matters if required. We are extremely happy with Jarrod. Highly recommend!!! P.S. I just love and appreciate American AC Heat and Plumbing!!! Two nights ago, my heating system just stopped working. And with temperature: 69 degrees, I was devastated. Ben M. And John R. arrived at my place and went to work immediately. They checked the indoor unit (all wirings), the condenser, the remote control, the electrical breaker, and some other parts that I don't know the names of. Then, they went back out to the condenser, opened it, and voila! the system started to work. Mysterious? I don't know. They stayed for another 15 minutes, just to be sure that the system is working. When the system was certainly functional, and after checking with the head office, they informed me that I do not owe the company any single cent. I was utterly astonished! Their reason: no service was done. If it were another company, I am sure there would be charges. I will definitely announce to my colleagues/friends to hire American AC Heating and Plumbing to do HVAC and plumbing work - it is the best in the west! Thank you for your big help. American Air Conditioning was the company I chose to replace my forced air furnace, and I'm very happy with their work. They were honest with me about what I needed and did not need, and were extremely accommodating regarding my unpredictable, constantly-changing schedule. I had to reschedule a few times do to demands of my own business, and they could not have been more gracious about it. My new furnace runs beautifully, and I am so relieved to have it done by such knowledgeable technicians. I take comfort in the guarantees they offer, and know that they will be there if ever there is an issue. They are flexible, timely and respectful. "Hank," a.k.a. Henry, was beyond patient with me regarding contract issues, as was Brenda with scheduling issues. Jason, the tech who installed my furnace, was professional, helpful, patient, obviously very knowledgeable, and he and his partner (who was equally awesome, but I forgot his name--sorry) worked quickly and provided a perfect installation. But I am now sure that I will never sign up again. This is absolutely horrible. I was finally able to get a manager on line and the only thing they offered was to have another service provider come out and look at it again. A service provider already came out and said that a manager had to respond. I just ended the call because this felt like a vicious cycle of incompetence. So disappointing. The only saving grace of this company is that the actual service technicians are great. The rest of the company is trash as far as I'm concerned. I only stay because they installed my system and I want those who installed the system to service it. But it may be time to find another company.

They offered to install a new part for my non-working gravity heater the next day at $3,700.00 and orally guaranteed it for 10 years with the promise of a fix for two years after the installation if anything went wrong. Shivering, I happily accepted the word of the technician. I am repenting in leisure. When the work was done, and the technician, Zack, told me that, if I wrote a good review on Yelp, they would pay me $25.00----in the form of a gift certificate to eBay, Amazon or an online company of my choice---I got a different idea about all those great reviews. The heater stopped working 6 months later. Fishing out the invoice, I saw there was no written proof of a guarantee. I took the tech at his word and hadn't checked. Again, I was cold! When, after many calls and an email, David dispatched a second tech from Express to assess the problem, he told me that water was dripping on the new part and that the water had ruined it. He charged me $80.00 for coming out, saying the failure was my fault. None of this was written down. The technician said he could get me another part for $3,700 or install a different heating system for $15,000. Either way, he said, the $80 would be applied. Now the nickel drops. The dawn breaks, and I hire an inspector to tell me whether there is a leaking pipe that I need to repair. The inspector told me there was nothing leaking on the new part, in fact there were no water pipes anywhere near the furnace, only gas pipes. He also said that the technician had installed a red bypass wire, a temporary fix at best. So this review. To alert others. 1. Ask for a written guarantee. 2. Use a credit card so you have recourse. 3. Read the invoice before you sign. 4. Ask to see a photo of the area. 5. Do the opposite of what I did. I'm still cold. P.S. to Cassandra, business mananger, who left a note after this review. This is not a mistake. My invoice number is 4623 and I saw Zack on November 4, 2024. I saw the second technician May 30, 2025. I am happy to talk to you. My phone number and private name is on the invoice. If you are unable to find the invoice, send me your email and I will quickly email it to you.
