We had a great experience with Ace for our move from San Jose to the Portland OR area. Pete came to do our inventory and was accurate and effective. Steve Bedard and his team packed everything up at our condo quickly but while still wrapping all of our furniture and worldly possessions carefully. We had to store our stuff for several months before moving into the new house and Ace (esp. Michelle Blake at the office) was communicative throughout the storage process. Steve was able to unload us efficiently as well on the other end, even considering there are a lot of stairs at the new house. He assembled our beds and tables, no problem. There were no damages to any of our possessions as everything breakable had been packed with care (and lots of packing paper!) We hope we don't have to move again for many years but if we do we will be giving Ace a call again. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. It took almost 2 full weeks to get our stuff when we were told it would be 10 days max, and then when it finally arrived the delivery guy couldn't find any helpers at the destination, so he ended up moving everything by himself. Due to that every piece of furniture had some sort of damage, and just about every box was crushed. To top it all off they're only going to settle the claim at $0.60 per pound, not by the actual value of the items damaged. This has been an absolutely horrible experience! I have a lot more to say, but just typing this is making my blood boil. read more

I contacted Ace/Atlas about a move from Oakland, CA to Olympia, WA. Eric came to do the in-home estimate. It was pretty easy to make the appointment. He was on time and very professional. After looking at everything, he estimated approx. 6600 lbs. (we thought for sure he over estimated). Eric provided us with an electronic estimate (via email) as well as a folder of information explaining our rights. The estimate included full replacement value (which other companies charged extra for). Michelle was our moving coordinator. She was very responsive and provided great information. She confirmed the time when the crew would arrive as well as the date when our stuff would arrive at the other end. On the day the crew arrived, it was Steve and Fernando. They were on time and very professional. They were well organized and fully prepared. Steve even had a few extra picture boxes for us to have to pack a mirror and picture. Steve and Fernando handled everything. We were not worried. Steve estimated our stuff to arrive at the other end a week later. A few days after our stuff left, Michelle emailed me to let us know that our stuff would arrive on 11/16 (which worked out for us perfectly and was close to what Steve told us). She also let know that our stuff weighed 6800 lbs., but since the estimate that Eric gave us was a "no more than" estimate, we didn't have to pay any more. (The estimate was for about 55 cents per pound). We were able to pay by credit card. Our stuff arrived on time with very few casualties, but the important stuff were in tact. A few plastic bins were broken & boxes partially smashed, but contents unbroken. The seat on my bike was torn & a cheap bookshelf broken, but acceptable. We would use Ace again. read more

The beginning of the process was actually pleasant - from Eric who came to survey our home in California, to the driver Luis and his team of guys who were all very friendly and professional. Unfortunately, it went downhill during the drop-off in Washington. The team of two gentlemen who carried the boxes and packages into the home, were very pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, the driver Steve was immensely condescending and very unprofessional. Upon their arrival at the place, Steve got off the truck and asked, "Who's in charge here?" I replied, "I am." He then turned to me and pointed his finger at me as if he was holding a gun, and made a "shooting" sound. Who does that?! After that he started cracking up at his own joke, that he absurdly thinks is humorous. He shared his "joke" with the two men who didn't seem to show any appreciation for his joke either. What he did was very offensive and extremely inappropriate!!! He continued to hand me over a piece of paper, without explaining what it is or what I'm supposed to do with it. One of the two men who was helping carry the shipment was nice enough to tell me what I needed to do with the inventory form. When all the boxes/shipment were placed in the home, there were 5 inventory items initially missing. Some items did not have stickers on them, so Steve just randomly assigned the missing numbers on the items that did not have stickers. It was CHAOTIC! He was even ORDERING ME to uncover the number of an item, pointing his finger at it and telling me, "How about that? What's the number on that one?" What an ill-mannered person! He randomly figured out which number belonged to which item, and we ended up with yet two items that are unaccounted for. They left, and as I walked back to my place I noticed that there were a few items in the garage that they've forgotten to place in the house - I've had to lift those myself (I'm a 5'1" 95-lb pound girl). Upon completing the tedious unpacking process, I found one of the two items and it was damaged. The second item - still missing - contained original wood art work and a priceless bronzed pair of baby shoes. Ace Relocations prices were reasonable relative to other movers. Had I known that something priceless would go missing, I would've gladly paid twice for a more efficient moving company. It's unfortunate that an awful employee like Steve affected the professionalism of everyone else who helped with the move; he's very unprofessional, rude, condescending, and definitely portrays the company negatively. read more

This is the fifth time posting here as management is removing all my posts. They are a dishonest company that does NOT pay back money for claims. When you dispute the amount with credit card company of the amount owed for damaged goods and are awarded in your favor Ace/Atlas send you to collections after never honoring their written agreement to reimburse for damages when insurance was paid. They never stop harassing the customer. PLEASE BEWARE!! read more

Do not use this company unless you like surprise costs. It is incredibly expensive when you get the final bill as everything is done by weight so the salespersons quote will not accurate at all. Expect your final bill to be at least double. Their storage cost are super expensive (done by weight) as well if you are not ready to move into your next home right away. We needed to move from Half Moon Bay, CA to Atlanta, Ga. I interviewed five of the big national, best reviewed companies and our realtor also suggested we get a quote from Ace Relocation Systems. He knew of their services and I called them. They sent a representative out the next day to give us an estimate (the only one that actually came to our home to see just want needed to go). The estimate was in line with the other big companies, not the lowest, nor the highest. We really liked the man who did the estimate and decided to contract with Ace that uses Atlas Van lines. In retrospect, it was a very good move on both ends - the ONLY complaint we have was with our "personal customer service representative" who was assigned to us to be our moving-coordinator. Dates had to be adjusted slightly and when you can not get a call back, a return email nor text -- something is not working correctly. Fortunately I was able to reach their local offices and made a plea for Someone in the know to contact me, and I did finally get my date-change resolved. Called to reserve an appointment for a survey, they confirmed a certain appointment for a survey and got the person name (Scott Creamer). They take all my information, cell phone and address. And guess what no body shows up!!!! I called them to ask why no body shows up and they couldn't find any of my information on their system. Very surprising !! How they are going to do a good service if they are not showing up on time and not even bother to call to cancel. Really wasted my time waiting for them... The Navy moved us from Maryland to San Jose CA. The Navy picked the world's worst movers, Ace Relocation Systems, to finish the move in San Jose. The Navy paid for 3 days for Ace to get us moved in. Ace showed up to do a half-assed job and with lots of attitude (except Chris with the Welsh last name, he was a professional). Ace did EVERYTHING wrong. Ace lost the box that had all our parts to assembly the furniture - which only appeared just before the end of the 3rd day. They unloaded our furniture last instead of doing that first. They complained about having to assemble our furniture and then in many cases did it wrong, like my 3 year old girls bed, picture attached. Ace have the screws pointing out so that she can hurt herself. Then Ace took our business and tax papers and threw them all over the floor. (Papers that took years to sort correctly.) The crew was only there about one and half days not the 3 days the Navy paid for. Hiring Ace is like hiring a natural disaster. We are still undoing the damage Ace has done to our lives. read more

Worst moving experience EVER! In November I moved from San Diego to Santa Clara. The day started with the movers calling me late and saying they couldn't find my house. They argued with me and I had to drive to where they were and guide them the block and a half. Then the packing experience. They missed drawers and I had to follow them around and pick stuff up. They threw ALL my power, ethernet, and cables into one box. They took stuff apart and put the parts in different boxes. Now the delivery. They delivered stuff to wrong rooms. I found the base to my computer monitor from my office in the living room in a box marked "Living Room Lamp Shade". They took stuff apart while packing and did NOT reassemble them at the destination. One example were the shelves to my bookcases. They left it to me to figure out what shelves went to what cabinets. It was a good thing that I taped the instructions for building my CD cabinet inside of it. I would have NEVER been able to put it back together. My living room couch is still not completely together. They do not offer a recycling service for the boxes. All in all, I would advise you not to use this company for a move. read more

My bf and I moved from California to Oregon and Eric Galpine was a superb representative who not only was thorough, thoughtful and calm (we had first move jitters) he answered all questions and concerns promptly and patiently. He went above and beyond to make sure our move went smoothly. Huge props to Atlas Van Lines! Our move coordinator (Kelly) and All the movers (Jorge & team) were extraordinary, starting from loading the house in Cali to unloading in Oregon. They showed up on time. All boxes are accounted for. Put everything back together for us (shelves, bookcases, etc). All the men were concientious, polite and extremely hard working. They not only worked incredibly fast, but it was amazing to watch them find all the parts and put everything back together again. It was nasty weather move in day, and they made sure to protect all our floors and furniture and they did so with a great attitude and smile. The whole team was just outstanding!!! Big plus: All the guys were wonderful with our dog. I highly recommend Ace Relocation Systems for any move. Very positive experience w/ good customer service... This was our first major move and our contact (Stacy) helped us through every step of the process. Our driver was on-time at our point of origin in Southern CA and was a pleasure to work with (as well as his helper). We did have a couple of damaged items (eg: wine glasses) but their claim service seems easy and I'm not worried about getting those items re-imbursed. My only gripe would be that the unpacking was not to specifications (they were supposed to unpack picture boxes, mattress, wardrobe boxes however they only unpacked the mattress). I am in the process of using Ace Relocation Systems to do a move from California to Florida; 3000 miles. One cannot even begin to imagine how overwhelming this is to someone who has never done it. We just completed our move handled by the team at ACE. It was slightly complicated, moving our 3-story townhouse a storage unit into combined storage while waiting for our new home to complete construction. Out of all the services we've used during the transition, ACE is tops! The crew is professional, considerate, nice, extremely safety conscious, timely and careful; they work really well together, they're so efficient, there's no moments of wasted time. Eric,( our first point of contact) the estimator provided excellent suggestions and explained the process, and was available for any questions we had. I'm a bit anxious about leaving this review when my move is still incomplete, but I feel I should warn people now about what I'm going through. I wish I had read the reviews here before hiring them! The movers showed up and picked up my things last Thursday w/o any issues, but now I've been waiting to get my belongings- the delivery date I was given was yesterday morning, which turned into yesterday afternoon, then this morning between 8-10am, and now it's been rescheduled for tomorrow between 7:30-8am. I was contacted yesterday by a company representative requesting payment in advance of delivery, and the total was roughly $2100 (within the same state, about 400 miles between cities). I've never paid for a move until completion, but since they do have all my things, I agreed. A family member was paying for it, and she gave a credit card number. She's very upset that we paid, only to have the scheduling inconvenience. She asked if she couldn't get a reimbursement for the inconvenience, and just received a text stating they will send her a check for $50. I'm mortified. I've been extremely flexible with the delivery date, but this is much more of a problem than I've dealt with in quite a while. I need to have my belongs to settle and resume my work, and I'm helpless to do anything until I get the delivery. In short, be careful. read more

Ace Relocation Systems has moved us now twice, and both times the experience has been as pleasurable as a move can ever be. They were originally recommended to us by someone I worked with who had them executing relocations for personnel at a large company in South Bay. Both times we've had someone to come in to make an estimate of the scope of the move, including the packaging material and the time and number of movers required for packing, loading and unloading. Based on these factors we have received an estimate of the cost. All estimates have matched fairly well with the reality. During our previous move the move crew was delayed in their arrival (traffic issues) on both the packing day and the moving day. When you have a highly planned move (especially from/to San Francisco high-rises with all their rules) and a tight schedule, it can make you nervous when you don't know if they are just late or if there has been some glitch. After the crew arrived, they did get the packing, loading and unloading done according to the planned schedule. The crew has been professional and polite both times, and nothing they packed and moved was broken or even scratched. Next time we move we will call Ace Relocation Systems again, and I have also recommended them to others. read more

ACE was contracted to move our household goods from Southern California to Washington. The people who were sent in to pack up and load the truck were great and that's why I'm giving two stars. But after that it has all gone down hill. Our items were picked up on 6/16 and we were given a delivery window of 6/19-7/3. Since we are not moving from, say California to New York, one would not expect them to need all the way to July 3rd. Especially since your items have already been on a truck since 6/16. Well think again folks because after multiple calls, with all of them ending up in leaving messages because they are having phone issues and only one of those messages being returned, that's exactly what we are being told. Our motorcycle, which left the same day, arrived several days ago and it was on a truck with multiple large items needing delivery as well. Another one of our cars that was shipped got here before we even did! We made the drive ourselves in 5 days and that's because we stopped at various places along the way to explore and sleep. So now here we are, two weeks after our home has been picked up and we are still sleeping on the floor of our new home with eating out as the only option because we have no means to cook. Don't ever use this company. Their "coordinators" are located out of Texas and they don't know what they are doing. They are unresponsive, don't answer their calls, never return phone calls. We had them move us just a short 30 miles away, they ended up holding our stuff hostage for days. The coordinators said they communicated with me when in fact I had no such calls! I've missed days from work and checked out of a hotel, only to end up in an empty house for 3 days, with my two children. This is no way to treat a military family!!!!! Ace driver who unpacked admitted damage was done by very careless packing into storage where things were smashed. 17th and 18th century furniture was destroyed. Promised all would be repaired. HA! DON'T EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY. Rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. A person named Dennis Kyne was supposed to come to my place to make a moving quote. The appointment was scheduled at 4 pm., but he moved it at 10am because it didn't fit his schedule. When he came to my apartment complex, I asked him to enter a code in a keypad to get in. He refused saying the keypad was not for that purpose (really??? I use it every single day to get in!!) That day was pouring, and he forced me to cross the entire complex leaving my 10-month old baby alone in the apartment, just to open the gate for him. When I tried to show him the how to use the keypad, he rushed me in and said he didn't care. I told I no longer wanted his services, and he said "OK because you are a pain in the ass, lady." Finally, I called to company to complaint, and as soon as I told them his name, they hung up on me. If this is just for an appraisal, I can't imagine how bad their moving service must be. I know this review is long but I think it will help. This review is not about the movers themselves, because they were fantastic, but the office/upper management. My move was from San Jose, CA to Portland, OR What I was told/offerred by the company: I received a not to exceed quote of about $1450 with an estimated weight of about 2200 lbs. I was guaranteed a delivery date window of 2-10 days. My scheduled pickup for my things was on June 20th between 12-1 and the movers would call when they are on their way. Day of pickup: It's 12:30 pm and still no phone call. I call the office and am told that the movers have just left the warehouse and are on their way. 1 pm, no movers and no phone call. I live 15 minutes from the warehouse, so they should have been at my place by now. I call at 1:10 pm, speak to the same lady who is the dispatcher, and tell them the movers are not at my place yet. She then realizes that one of the movers that's assigned to pickup my stuff is still in the warehouse and HAS NOT left yet. I can hear their whole conversation and clearly it was not the mover's fault. There was a huge lack of communication between the dispatcher and the movers. She then tells me, nonchalantly, "oh, ok the movers are coming now". No sorry, no nothing. She was extremely rude and didnt even own up to the mixup which was her fault! So the movers get to my place by 1:45 pm. Delivery coordinator: Chantel Within the next couple of days, I tried to contact my coordinator Chantel, but she was very difficult to reach. It's been close to 5 days and I didnt receive a call from my delivery coordinator, Chantel, so I gave her a call. She told me at the latest my things should get there by July 3rd (which exceeds the "guaranteed" delivery date of 2-10 days). I remind her of the guaranteed delivery date and she tells me since they have been so busy, their unable to get it to me any sooner. So when were they gonna tell me this? If I didnt call myself, I probably would have been waiting in the dark expecting my things to get there during the 2-10 days. Thanks for the heads up Chantel. Also, I receive my final price for the move, and its almost exact to what the estimate was. This made no sense because when they actually weighed all of my things, it came out to 1300 lbs less than what the estimate was (2200 lbs)!! I brought this to Chantel's attention and she basically gave me some bullshit answer that made no sense. She told me that 1000 lbs is nothing and thats why there wasnt a difference in price. Are you serious?! I asked her if the final price included the shuttle I told them I would be needing. At first, she told me yes. I told her I didnt see it as a charge, so then she said, "oh, well let me double check". She said she would have to call me back. Jesus, shouldn't you have known all of this information BEFORE you sent me the final price? She called me back and told me that the shuttle was not included in the final price, but that they would not include it since the delivery was taking so long. I have a feeling that they just told me this because at this point I was really pissed. Overall: Dont use Ace. Don't get lured in by the salesmen. They probably overbooked and thats why the movers were late on the day of my pickup and the day of my delivery. They dont really care about the service or the customer. I tried to file a complaint against the dispatcher, seeing if they could offer me a discount for making me wait, and the manager told me no since it was only 45 min. Wow, thanks for telling me my time isnt worth anything. The only good thing is that they give you free used boxes, but after everything I went through it's definately not worth it. read more

THE WORSE EXPERIENCE MOVING EVER!! I'm in the Army, so I'm used to moving. This time my family an i are moving from California to Washington state. FIRST STRIKE!! I called ACE relocation system to scheduled the initial walk through to get a estimate for my move. Mr. Scott Cramer, called me back to confirm our appointment set for the following day at 1200 hours. Mr. Scott Cramer, never showed. I called Mr. Scott's Cramer, I asked him. Why did he miss our appointment? He said we didn't have an appointment. He then put me on hold. Got back on the phone an started apologizing. I informed him that I took off of work for this meeting. He apologized again. We make another appointment for the following day at 0930. I take off from work again. SECOND STRIKE!! Mr. Scott Cramer, shows up about 45 minutes late for our second appointment. He apologized for being late and for missing our appointment yesterday. He gave me this stupid excuse that I didn't want to hear. We sat down and talked about the company. He seemed very knowledgable about what he was saying. Then we conducted the walk through of the house. He was helpful in making suggestions and pointing out what I needed to do next. THIRD STRIKE!! We finish walking through the house. He estimates the cost to be $3900. I'm happy. I tell him that a good price. I was expecting to pay more. He said (joking) wait let me add a few charges. We laughed. Later on that day. I get a email saying. Sorry, but he made a mistake. He now has to charge me $500.00 more dollars for the move. Then he sends me the contract, but I see that it's not $500.00 dollars more it's actually $600.00. WOW!! So I called ACE relocation systems office. First I spoke with Frank. He wasn't any help. Didn't really know what he was talking about. So Frank, put me in contact with Tony. Tony is the General Manager of Ace relocations system. This guy is a total moron. Well that's an understatement. For me, Tony, somewhere between a cockroach and that white stuff that accumulates at the corner of your mouth when you're really thirsty. He had he nerve to tell me they gave me a discount. We recently moved from San Jose to Superior, Colorado. I had 3 different major companies come by for estimations. Due to it being Winter I think all the companies were pricing lower than normal ($5000 for a 3 bd/2ba home), but I felt more comfortable with how Eric explained the move, any additional costs, and their price guarantee. Once we choose Ace Relocation I did ask for an adjustment of the estimate since we decided to donate a few pieces of furniture prior to the move (again - no problem). They also were willing to work with my delivery window (I wanted to have our "stuff" prior to Christmas!) We did self-pack, and Eric let us know we could pick up some used boxes at their warehouse. This included mirror packs (for frames) and wardrobe box I used for speakers. They also gave us paper and packing tape without asking! I'm sure this saved us quite a bit of money since if they need to pack these items the day of the move it can really add up! Day of move - They were very organized and courteous. We had a crew of 4 for most of the day (9-5pm) although I think they called in a few extra people at the end to finish by 5pm. The paperwork afterwards is a bit overwhelming...so if you haven't done this before I would ask for more information up-front. Also, if you have something that is new (or almost new) I would ask that they show you any scratches they think they see as they are marking. We had bikes that were almost brand new and they really marked up the paperwork...but then they were already packed. I did order in some pizza and drinks for them to eat while they took a break in the van. One other point - I had been told by Eric that we could leave clothes in the dresser but the moving guys said "no"...so we needed to transfer. I had actually left a huge suitcase empty, and they also supplied boxes at no cost so it was not a "big" deal to me, but a bit of a hassle when I thought I was done. Day of move-in - Well...it was Christmas Eve, but other than that things went well and the guys were fast/efficient. They did, by accident, put our bunk beds back together incorrectly, but other furniture was located as we wished. Jeanette was very helpful with a few questions related to packing, as well as keeping us informed of the delivery timing. They worked with a Mexican moving company to relocate me to Mexico. Together they lost thousands of dollars of personal property (rug, computer peripheries, books, bed clothes, etc.) and then refused to admit any responsibility for these events. They also packed or repacked some innocuous items like cat food and medications and then later intentionally (and admittedly) destroyed the entire box which also appears to have contained some valuable personal property of mine. They destroyed the entire box because the box contained cat food and medications that are on the "bad" list for Mexican Customs. This local US company should have returned all items to me as I still own a home in the area of the moving company, where the move originated, and I had not authorized the destruction of my goods. I would NEVER use this incompetent moving company for anything. 7/1/15 ACE Relocation responded to my initial review (above) stating that it was an unsubstantiated claim. I have emails that substantiate my claim that this company intentionally destroyed a box of my personal belongings without authorization from me. ACE also hired a company to "crate" a glass dining room table top. The item was removed from house but never appeared on the list of items shipped and it was never delivered to San Miguel. This business is hiding the truth and I will be filing a Small Claims petition in the near future. read more

I hired Ace Relocation Systems to move my stuff from Los Angeles, CA to Morgan Hill, CA (approximately 360 miles). My reference point for rating ARS is in comparison to several other moving companies that I've hired in the past. Overall, my experience was very positive because: 1. Ace Relocation Systems first sends a Relocation Consultant to your home to look at everything and to discuss logistics with you in order to arrive at an accurate estimate and to answer any questions that you may have. Mr. Larry Buckle was my Relocation Consultant and he was very helpful. During his visit to my home, it was obvious that he had a great deal of experience and was very transparent and open about pricing, including options. Also, after his visit, he was extremely responsive by phone and by e-mail to follow up questions that I had. 2. Ace Relocation Systems called me with important updates. 3. The movers were very professional, careful, and efficient [both packing my stuff and unpacking it]. Nothing was damaged except the handle on one of my Ikea closets (Notably: When he visited my home to do an inventory, Mr. Larry Buckle clearly informed me that they would not be able to guarantee lack of damage to Ikea furniture, so I was well informed of the risk.) 4. On the day that they packed my stuff, they were able to tell me when what day (and time of day) they would arrive at my new house. As I mentioned earlier, Ace Relocation Systems moved my belongings approximately 360 miles. I had a two bedroom apartment with quite a bit of very large furniture. The total cost was just under $5,000. So, my overall impression is that if you would like very professional and well organized help moving your belongings without worrying about it getting damaged or lost, and if you think this is worth paying more than the cheapest moving companies, then Ace Relocation Systems is the company to use. read more

Ace Relocation helped my husband and I move across state lines recently and we had the most amazing experience. Pros: 1. They kept us well informed throughout the process and were always available in case of questions/concerns. Special shout out to Stacy, the CS rep that we interacted with. She was the one who managed everything for us. She made sure to call/email us before and after every step to ensure that everything happened smoothly. 2. They were on time for the appointments. 3. The packing was very efficient. And the loading and unloading as well. 4. It took them less than a week to get our stuff to the new place. And even though they arrived earlier than I expected, they made sure to accommodate my schedule for the unloading. 5. They took care of not damaging the apartment and our stuff while packing, loading and unloading. 6. Everyone that I interacted with was friendly and easy to communicate with. Another important thing to note is that we involved them less than a week before our move was to take place. Given the lack of time, I am highly impressed by how efficient they were. I have moved a few times in the last 4 years and thanks to them, this was the most stress-free move ever. Cons: After the unloading, they had to send the third party company to uncrate the glass tops for our tables. They took some time to set this up. Not a big deal at all but just wanted to make sure I am completely honest. In fact, the third party came in this morning and setup the tables for us. Overall, it's a 10/10 for these guys. Ace moved my parents out from Oklahoma to San Francisco. They moved the contents of a 3 bedroom home including a lot of fragile antiques (leaded glass curio cabinets from the 1800's, several sets of China, antique bedroom sets etc.). Nothing arrived broken. Scott C. and Michelle B. were on the service and planning side and did a fantastic job. Great communication and were very flexible. The actual moving team consisted of 4 great guys. Josh was the lead and Tia, Cameron and Justin(?) were all extremely hard workers and very cautious with our items. It was fast but not rushed. Efficient yet careful. Just what we had hoped for. Great job everyone! read more

We moved from Texas to California and opted for Ace relocation after getting quotes from 4 companies. Ace's quote was the lowest (by about $500) and the fact that they are Atlas' agent representatives led us to believe that the quality of the move would be professional. Ace has an office at Kyle, TX and the loading was done by them, whereas the unloading was done by movers from the local office at San Jose. (I have the review for the loading experience in the Kyle page). The loaders were extremely unprofessional and were actually father and son. They seemed like some local movers that the driver picked up. Our boxes were well-packed and labeled for each room, but they simply dumped everything at the entrance. The father was quite old (I felt bad for him) and couldn't do much of the lifting, so it was just 1 guy hauling everything. The complete unloading took 6 hours for a 1.5 bed apartment. (The loading in Texas had taken 2 hours) Finally, the worst experience was the furniture assembling. By the end they had no interest in properly assembling and didn't bother tightening any screws. We had paid for dis-assembly and assembly since I was suffering from a disc slip. They argued with us when we pointed out that the bed assembly wasn't right. We had to sleep in a hotel that night because the bed was not ready to use. All in all, unprofessional movers and a sour experience. The plus was that the move was cheap but definitely not worth the trouble. Will go for a different company next time. read more

I moved from Baltimore to California recently. I had most of my stuff stored in a container back east and one I got settled here, I wanted it brought out. I got in touch with Eric G. At Ace to make the move. He arranged to have my container delivered to the yard at Ace in San Jose, have his men re-load it into one of their trucks and deliver it to my home and place everything inside. Everything went really smoothly. Stuff happened on time, the moving guys were pleasant and competent and dealing with Eric was a good experience. I would recommend Eric at Ace anytime. My husband and I recently used Ace to move cross country from the Bay Area to NYC. With everything that goes on during a move, it was a big relief to leave all the loading/moving and some of the heavy packing to someone else. These guys are very friendly and customer-focused, from the first inquiry response, to the estimate, to the actual moving process and the final hand-off. We had a few fragile items (canvas photos etc.) that the team carefully packed up for us and got to NYC without a scratch. They also disassembled our bed and re-assembled it for us once we got into the city. I have to echo Manasi and give a special shout-out to Stacy, who basically held my hand through the whole process. She basically gave me the play-by-play update on where our things were, what I needed to do, when the bill would actually be processed, etc. While our things were going cross country, one of our boxes had a minor "oil spill" with a bottle of canola oil and Stacy called me right away to let me know this had happened and to ask permission to remove the broken bottle and check the other boxes that were around it. The driver then repacked everything for us nicely so when our things arrived to our door, there were no signs of this accident. Things probably went as smoothly as they could have--our things didn't actually arrive until one day after the last day in the window they had given us, but I guess this is what happens when you move during the prime moving month of August. All in all, we were really satisfied with their service and can't imagine ever going through another move on our own again! read more

I don't know anyone who actually enjoys moving... but with the help of Ace Relocation Systems, they were able to make moving a pretty great experience. I called Ace and scheduled an "estimator" to come to my home. I had no idea what to expect, and when Scott Cramer showed up, he was delightful! We walked through the house, chatting all the time, and he was asking very specific questions about what we wanted them to move, and what we would move ourselves. He offered suggestions to help us save money and peace of mind. I have several antiques that I was worried about and Scott told me little tricks about packing them and moving them myself, so I wouldn't have to worry. After walking the entire house (and garage) he left and said he would email us an estimate soon. Well, soon turned out to be about 1/2 hour later. We had some questions, and when we called him, he was only too happy to explain it all, and again, offer suggestions to help us with the move. I was so surprised at how reasonable the cost was, for what we had to move. I asked Scott to confirm the price, and when he did, I asked why it was such a good price. He said "that is what we charge for this type of move". I was thrilled! Scott even offered us free moving boxes, including huge ones for our Plasma TV's. He told us we could save even more money if we boxed them ourselves, and he even told us how to do it! When moving day arrived, I had to be at the new house (only about 35 miles away) and did not get to see the "pack up" at the old place. I was, however surprised when my husband called me only about 3 hours later and told me the house was packed and "ready to go". I was shocked! We had a two-story, 40 year old 2,000 square foot house CRAMMED with furniture. The guys at Ace had it all wrapped and packed and ready to go in no time. After they stopped for some lunch, the arrived at our new house, and all 5 moving men introduced themselves to me (unheard of!) and asked me to show them the house, and where things might go. They quickly set to work, moving everything into the house, and putting it exactly where I wanted it. They unpacked, unwrapped and built everything they had brought from the old house, and did an amazing job! Not one thing was damaged, scratched, bumped, or missing. We were so thrilled with how smoothly the move went, I would even entertain the idea of moving again.... someday! read more

I was very pleased with how this move went. I was impressed with the people I dealt with over the phone, the person who handled things in California, and the driver and his crew at this end. Friends at the office were telling horror stories about their moves, and I was very nervous. But everyone was professional, pleasant, very competent, and cared about my belongings.
