Some good things: Movers were fast, professional and overall kept things clean and undamaged. Bad things: Communication is nonexistent. I have had to call for every update, delivery times, invoices etc. I was told they would do a walkthrough within the next couple days, and I didn't get it for over a week. They did not even give me a 24 hour notice for when my goods would arrive. I only found out because I called them. They don't tell you who their contractors that they are working with until you get a random call from the contractors. They somehow still said they required a shuttle for the move even though oversized semi trucks regularly come by my house. I never received a weight estimate, nor an actual weight of moving. Instead I got an estimate for number of boxes they will use after I called them to see what was going on because it was a week past when they told me I would have it. In the end I just got a bill with the price (which arrived several weeks after the move). No line-items of how they got to that amount. I've moved with professional moves before, but never had this horrible a communication or unprofessional service. I was required to use them, but its really scary to move and have no idea how much it will cost, or why you are charged an amount. read more

Ace moved us from Santa Clara, CA to Atlanta, GA. The thing I was most impressed by was the fact that they had the lowest price and that price never increased. I read horror stories about other moving companies that will nickel-and-dime you after the fact. That didn't happen here. The movers were great and treated our things with care. Nothing was damaged or lost. The only negative was that it took five days longer for our items to arrive than estimated. However, given the positives listed above I still rate them five stars. I used their long distance department out of Long Beach when I moved last year. Had such a great experience I decided to utilize them again for an in town move. Compared to my 2 man crew they were much slower and not careful with some of my stuff. I have an amoir that I love very much and they scratched the heck out of the molding and almost broke a leg of it! To tell you the truth I think they knew what they did and when we got to my new apartment they were pointing out the damage from previous movers to the apartment to distract me. It was a midweek move and after having to return to work for 2 days I finally had a chance to inspect all my furniture closely and found the damage. When setting up some of my larger furniture I had told about 3 of the guys who seemed pretty good at English to set up things a certain way so I can put things in etc. When I walked through the apt. come to find out they weren't listening to disseminating the information and I had to ask them reposition certain things. I would not recommend them and I am very sad they did not live up to the same reputation as their Long Beach based counterparts. read more

They were incredibly professional. They packed all of my stuff and nothing broke. I was responsible for unpacking which is fine as it allowed me to place everything just where I wanted. I wish I could give less than a 1-star. Our experience was terrible. Our delivery date was exceeded by 10 days. If we didn't continuously follow up with a myriad of Ace employees we wouldn't have information. At our delivery site, Ace couldn't work with the local teams to get a crew to unload our goods. They sat. Once a crew was obtained, after being promised they would show at 8am, they showed at 4pm. Which, caused them to have to come back the following day. Ace moved us from Santa Cruz to Pismo Beach. They were able to guarantee us a pack/load date and an unload date, even though it was the Friday between July 4th and the weekend. The packers/loaders/unloaders were awesome - Marco and Miguel did both ends, and you never met nicer guys or harder workers! Eric was my estimator, and he was very nice, and very ACCURATE - I paid for something like 7,000 lbs, and the weight was actually 7,661 (you pay what they estimate or less for weight). Every move has at least one hiccup, but the hiccup in this one is almost not worth mentioning - I'll mention it in order to be completely honest, though. There were items left behind when I did a good look around after they left the place they packed and loaded - it seemed sort of random, as they left one half bottle of brandy, but packed all the other half bottles. Left random items in a couple of cabinets, a broom, etc. Enough to fill half my trunk for my drive down to Pismo, which was a bit of a drag. But I could have looked around before they left and had them pack most of it, so...just as much my fault. Great company!! read more

From my first conversation with Sandy as she prepped me, told me to get at least 3 estimates and directed me to the government websites which regulates the industry, to Eric who was so professional at providing a quote, Jeanette who kept me informed to the 4 wonderful men (Enrique, Jose...) who actually made the move happen - all has been above expectation and quality. I cannot speak highly enough of each and every member of this team. When the team arrived in Buellton, there were issues which they handled with aplomb. My 95 year old dad and 86 year old mom had complete trust and faith in them and though there to sign the papers, they were never inconvenienced. They must have a fleet of nothing but broken down trucks. First phase of our move they were 2 hours late and brought a smaller truck because the original truck broke down. And the smaller truck was followed by a guy repairing the lift during the move. The redemption second move was even worse when we arranged to come get the rest of the items. 3 hours late and still waiting and the excuse of a broken truck. These people suck. The actual movers themselves are great. Their coordinators should be fired. And they expect to be paid in advance. Stay away. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

This is the worst moving company that I have ever used. They are dishonest and will deceive you. They gave you misleading information so that they can optimize their cost. They change the terms that you signed without notifying you in advance and you will end up paying the extra cost. They even threatened you to get what they want. Don't ever use their service. You will end up paying double the original estimation cost as they always think of ways to charge you extra which is unnecessary. In my case, they charged me origin shuttle claiming that the street is not suitable for moving trucks. In fact, on the same street just across my door, multiple huge freight trucks deliver goods to the retailer store (Rite Aid and Safeway). Worst of all, they didn't tell you the nature of the charge and instead told you that this is only part of transportation fee. Such extra charge will come at a surprise at the final invoice. On delivery, they tried to play the same trick. I was told that the truck can't get close to the delivery address which is just right beside a 4 lane main road with plenty of open parking space. You will regret if you use their service. read more

Everyone I met at ACE was great. Scott was professional and timely, and did a thorough evaluation of my house. He also helped me get some used boxes to help me save a couple bucks. Michelle was very helpful coordinating everything and answering all of my questions. I packed my own boxes, but Doug and his team did a smooth and easy job of packing my house into a truck, including a tricky to move piano. We moved locally (only about 4 miles apart) and having used Atlas in the past to move across the country I wanted to stick with the great service I had with Atlas. I found Ace through them as a local option and received the same great service from them as well. The inspection went really quickly and our movers were nice and treated our items with care. Had a great experience recently with Ace Relocation. For one Eric gave us a great competive price to move our belongings from Santa Cruz, California to Vancouver, Canada. The crew was great in packing very well our belongings. The driver, Keith, who was from Canada was caring and professional and looked well after us and especially our Grand Piano as he was concerned since it needed to be come done a challenging little hill with rocks! SO glad we had Keith!! The crew in Canada was also great and even so attentive to details (Yaeh for MIKE!! ). They unloaded and were to careful in wanting to protect our hardwood floors. Furthermore which was important to us also is that Jeanette, who was our liaison from Ace, gave great communication and emails to keep up updated with the process and the Canadian demands from customs for our move. I used this company December 15, 2016 to move from Campbell, CA to Santa Maria, CA. all this did was make me decide never to move again. At first everything was great showed up early on the day for packing (which wasn't the greatest since I needed to get ready to have everything packed). Had packed all I could that would fit in a small apartment. They were scheduled to deliver on December 18, that was when the trouble started. They put over 55 boxes in my driveway in the middle of winter. I had to move a house full of furniture and kitchen before I could move my stuff in. I was told by the agent that I didn't have to pack my clothes in the dressers or desk just leave things in the dressers and desk. Well, you can imagine my surprise when all my drawers were empty and everything in my desk was gone. There were no boxes marked desk or bedroom dressers or clothes from dressers. I couldn't find my clothes for over a week. Boxes that said kitchen had other stuff besides kitchen. Didn't find my coffee maker for a month. Still can't find my under the counter electric can opener. Several items were broken or destroyed. I contacted an agent and she sent me a check for $200 but that didn't help with what was destroyed or lost. I spent a lot of money for the move and was totally dissatisfied with the overall outcome. I would not recommend the movers. Just look at Christopher E. review kind of what I went through after paying $3300. I only had 600 sq feet to move and unpack. Poor man. read more

This review is long overdue but still needs to be noted so other customers can beware. I hired this company to pack, store, deliver, and unpack. I paid extra to have expensive TV's, and a vintage mirror specially packed. The TV's have cracked screens and no longer work. Along with other damage on several items, I had numerous scratches on my bedroom furniture. I contacted the company, and after NUMEROUS attempts to resolve this issue, I was only offered a small amount for the damages. I paid extra specifically to have the TV's and mirrors packed in special crates to provide protection. It didn't work. The sales representative didn't explain properly the claim process and he didn't have me "initial" that I received proper warning which seems very misleading. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THIS COMPANY EVER BE HIRED OR TRUSTED. I regret the whole experience. read more

We have moved 5 times over the past 7 years and Ace Relocation Systems of San Jose has handled the past two moves. We originally hired them through a business contact in a company where they handled corporate relocations. They moved our fairly extensive and expensive worldly possessions from Oakland to San Francisco. This was in 2007. Because of this good experience, we contacted them again for our move to a new condo in San Francisco. Again they handled the move very well. They arrived a bit late (maybe 1/2 hour after the given time window) but after that they worked briskly and efficiently. Same thing next day at the destination -- they arrive a bit late, but were very efficient after that. They packed everything very well, not a single item was damaged in the move. And this includes some pretty thin crystal glassware too. All boxes were well labeled and put into the right rooms at the new place. All furniture was well protected and again put to the right places. Nothing was lost, nothing was broken, everything was in their place. The crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves. Next time we move, hopefully not for a while, we will use Ace again. read more

You will love working with this company!! We moved last week, and everything went amazingly smoothly, no issues, and the attitude of these guys could not have been better. And the price is competitive, guaranteed, and a good value. It started with our salesperson Eric and his flexibility to come & give us a quote on a weekday evening. The quote is guaranteed to be the highest price (based on his weight estimate). Then he arranged to hold our truck load of household goods over two nights due to our move-in & move-out schedule. Ask them anything and they try to say yes!! He brought us wardrobe boxes a week early so we had time to load them, he brought more rolls of tape... boxes available... they have this cart with slots built into it for transporting your wall art, and it was so easy and safe!! The moving crew we had was lead by Luis. These guys are FANTASTIC!! Ask for this crew!! They loaded up our 2700 SF home in 3.5 hours, and they were careful and professional, friendly, and worked HARD. The same guys unloaded all our belongings at the new location in Paso Robles two days later, and they again were careful and had a perfect attitude. They wanted to get things into the exact location I wanted them in so we would not have to scoot anything after they were gone. They even said we could move some furniture before they leave if I changed my mind on the location I wanted it in the house! I can't think of anything more I would ask of a moving company. I have been pricing a move 200 miles away, and called several companies, Ace being one of them (they actually part of Atlas). Looking back this was definitely the wrong choice. I would give them 0 stars if that was an option. Here is our experience: The sales pitch on June 10th and quote went very smoothly, and were assured they had the capacity to move us July 8th. Called the next day and accepted the estimate and schedule, and they were supposed to drop off boxes so we can get a head start on the packing. A week later we called again to get things rolling, as we needed boxes now not on July 7th. They sent an updated agreement, removing two items from the move per our request, and schedule remained July 8. Still no boxes. Called again to get the sales person over and get boxes, he wants to meet on the 26th! Well that is not an option, so he finally agreed begrudgingly to meet us on the 18th. Of course it was a no show. That evening, after leaving voice mail for him, we get an email saying "I'm sorry to say we have reached capacity until Mid July and won't be able to provide you with moving services on 7/8". Never would I have expected such from a "professional" moving company. Do they think they are the only thing we need to schedule? backing out like this screws every thing already lined up. Terrible planning on their part. They underestimated our household goods and on the moving day sent not enough people and a small rental truck. The movers had no tools and needed to disassemble furniture with our tools. Very unprofessional. We hauled two trucks full of furniture until it got dark. One mover said that they would not stop until we were done. Moving furniture in the dark is not only a nuisance to neighbors but also dangerous and damaging to goods. So they came back 2 days later to finish our move. Overall it took 4 rides to get all our furniture out and we have so many damaged pieces. One bed is completely destroyed and cannot be repaired. We had insurance but they only want to pay us 84$ for a bed that was in immaculate shape (Potterybarn Kids). I am beyond words and would never ever hire this company again! read more

I chose this company based on excellent Yelp reviews and because it had experience moving goods across the border into Canada. What a mistake!!! Our meeting with the sales rep went very well. The San Jose branch supplied used boxes at no cost. After that everything went downhill. No one called us on our scheduled pick-up date to let us know when the movers were coming. I had to call them. We had to leave our goods in storage for a month because we did not have a permanent residence in Canada. With about 10 days left on our storage period I notified the company of our permanent address. Boy did things go downhill after that! For the next three weeks no one was able to tell us where our driver and goods were and when they would actually arrive at our destination. Despite this our VISA bill was charged for an amount that was about $700 above the agreed upon price. When I questioned the bill I was told that about $600 was charged because a small truck had to be used to gain access to our residence. This was a lie and that charge was finally reversed. Plus, we still didn't know where our furniture was and when it would be delivered. The additional overcharge of about $100 was said to be due to the fact that our goods were kept in storage for about 2 days past our one month storage period. This was despite the fact that the company was notified almost 2 weeks before the end of our storage period that the goods could be shipped to our residence. We were finally given an exact delivery date, booked an elevator in our building, and hoped we would get our furniture. Not to be!! Our furniture was not delivered as promised. It arrived 3 days later. After a couple of weeks of calls back to the moving company's office we finally received a refund of $200. What a lousy experience. read more

But what blew me away was his followup after the move. The medicine cabinet in one of our bathrooms did not get packed. He arranged to meet with the realtor to pick up our items at our previous home south of Gilroy and then personally delivered them to our new home in San Francisco almost two hours away. Couldn't ask for a more friendly and helpful group. Moving across country the first time was a stressful event but ace relocations pulled through and on top of it got everything in place for me before Christmas as promised. One thing that put me off was my salesperson whom I felt may have over-promised dates and delivery to close the deal but Michelle stepped up to the challenge and really made everything happen. I hope she is still with the company and gets to read how much she was appreciated. The moving crew that I was assigned to was crazy good - communication the whole way-and I can only hope that I am fortunate enough to get the same type of experience with my next move. We contacted Atlas Vanlines for a move from the Bay area to Boston. Atlas subcontracted to Ace Relocation Systems. Eric Galpine from Ace came over for an in-house estimate. He was the most prepared of the 3 people who came over for in-house estimates. He patiently answered questions during the visit and later on over email. Ace gave the best price of the 5 quotes we got (2 without in-house estimates). Ace was able to change our pick-up date from 2-months later to 5-days later when our plans suddenly changed! Not only was Ace able to accommodate our pick-up date to within the next 5-days, they even agreed for a weekend pick-up. Michelle Blake was our move coordinator and always responded promptly. On the pick-up day, the packers and movers worked quickly and efficiently. They gave us a firm delivery date for just 1-week later and again for a Sunday ! We got a not to exceed (assured price protection) quote with full value protection. The actual weight of the shipment came out to be lower than the estimated weight. So our final cost was a lower than what was estimated initially. The delivery and furniture assembly went smoothly and there were no delays. Nothing was broken or misplaced. Could not have asked for a smoother move considering the distance. Highly recommend Ace and their team ! read more

We recently contracted with Ace to move from Gilroy, CA to the Big Island of Hawaii. Our move happened quickly, and we worked until the day of the move of our 3,100 s.f. home. Our move went very smoothly, and it could not have happen with out Eric's help and coordination! Our household belongings were carefully wrapped and packed in a 40 foot container. We were working and not able to coordinate the final packing, but Eric stepped in and took care of all the coordination. Our belongs arrived intact and 4 or 5 days earlier than expected. Their San Jose estimator Scott Cramer was one of the most knowledgeable, ethical and straight forward estimators out of a number of moving companies with whom I spoke. He provided some insights as to factors affecting the pricing estimate which enabled me to optimize what we were shipping and when. He even came a second time to the house for an updated estimate as a last minute unforeseen medical issue delayed my move by nearly 5 months. My sole issue was responsiveness of some communications. Due to timing coordination issues, we did not use AceRelocation for the move. So I can't comment upon an actual move experience. None-the-less, they will remain on my list for any future move consideration. read more

If I could deduct stars, I would. This was a horrible experience for my family and the whole company from the Vice President to the movers. When the movers showed up, they were an hour late and didn't have any boxes with them. They seemed confused by packing the house, even though they knew that's why they were there. They walked around my house opening drawers to get an idea of what was needed; all the while speaking Spanish and laughing. I kindly asked them to not speak Spanish while discussing my belongings because I couldn't understand what they were saying and it made me uncomfortable. A couple of the guys were irritated with that and treated me rudely afterward. After the house was packed they talked about the following day which was moving day and had the wrong address I was moving to. I quickly corrected them and they seemed like it was no big deal. Moving day was horrendous. They dropped things, took hour long breaks in the middle of working, broke numerous items of mine as they threw them into different places and would yell things in Spanish just to upset me. I know this because they would look at me after and laugh. I tried contacting the office person who had helped me and she was out of town and nobody else was available. After everything was supposedly out of the old house and they had left, my husband and I went back to find numerous items still left. I emailed the company letting them know how disappointed we were and that the amount of money we had already paid them made me sick since they didn't do the job they were paid to do. I received a call the next day letting me know somebody would come look at the house. A guy showed up in a suit and called a few other guys to come pick up and get things more organized. The few guys that showed up were very nice and did help. They found many of our items broken and made me take pictures of them so we could file a claim. They talked about the crew who had helped us and said they were the worst of the company and apologized profusely for them. The VP or whoever in the suit that came said to file the claim for our items that were damaged. I didn't fight about the bill because I was happy to have it over with. I sent the pictures and made a claim for the items damaged all for only a total of $1,500. I've never received a response or anything. I followed up and they said it was in process. This was 2 1/2 months ago. I'm disgusted by their lack of professionalism and sad effort on their part to make it right. We spent money on douchebag guys to move our stuff and continuously find broken items that we will never see resolve on. I have and will continue to tell everyone I come into contact with to never use them. DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY. They're a joke. read more

I should have read the reviews before selecting this company. We used Ace when we moved from MN to CA three years ago and they were superb. But they were terrible on this move from CA to NV. Our complaint is not with the movers, they were super. The sales person told me what I wanted to hear to get the sale - I told him that we had a budget and he had to come in UNDER a certain amount. They went way over. The final bill was 25% over the estimated costs. Our motorcycle arrived damaged and the claims department said that they do not cover motorcycles delivered to a storage unit! Why didn't someone tell us THAT! We are NOT happy and will not use them again. read more

During the day 3 more employees showed up to complete the packing and loading onto the moving van.
