No stars for me. I took my laptop in less then a year ago to have the battery replaced and it no longer charges. I go back in and Martin tells me something about they changed the focus of there business and he can not look at for at least 2 weeks. And even then he can't for sure look at it. Total lack of customer service the battery warranty would probably be up in a few weeks. I would not ever recommend anyone go there if they want customer service of any kind. read more

Years ago, this place was great! Over the last couple of years, they slack. They say they will fix something and a month goes by and no calls. They don't return phone calls either. Then when you finally get your stuff back, it still isn't working correctly, and you pay an arm and a leg. It's frustrating to say the least. Be wary of this place! Charged me $70 dollars to install a video card only to find out immediately after wards it literally takes 5-10 minutes to do. All my school courses are are online so i was stressed out to get my computer working, normally I'd of researched the issue after they told me the problem. Also over the phone the technician told me the replacement video card was better than my old one. BULL! Then they had the nerve to tell me when I wanted to upgrade my card I should come on back and they'll "take care of me"- yeah I bet. Thanks ACM for charging me $155 for a mediocre video card, really appreciate the great service. If you go to them for any reason do so for the $35 dollar diagnostic fee, then have a tech savvy friend or yourself fix it. read more

After having purchased two used computers from another company here in Ventura, then having all sorts of problems that they did not ever even begin to correct, I took the laptop to another, supposedly reputable local computer service company, only to be misquoted by their staff, told what I already knew and charged $80 to accomplish absolutely nothing. While sitting outside of that company, frustrated and fed-up, I called ACM. Martin helped me to better understand options and offered suggestions ALL ON THE PHONE and without any benefit to them whatsoever! I went and purchased an item to store my data upon retrieval and took the laptop to Martin and he had the data out in minutes and the other work done the next day. AMAZING! No arrogance, no pretense . . . just nice people who not only know what they are doing in this arena, but also about customer service and respect! Great service from this company! You can absolutely forget the bureaucratic nightmare at Best Buy's Geek Squad; their call centers are clueless! Anyway, this is the complete opposite. Every staff member I dealt with was friendly and knew how to help. Robert, our technician, was always on time. Robert was professional and super fun to have on the job. Have been using ACM Computers since early 2012. Had tried different computer repair services prior but for me, ACM is the best. All my encounters with different employees have been great! Their customer service is excellent and they are very respectful. So I haven't hesitated recommending ACM to family and friends if asked. ACM does make service calls for a fee--but that is worth the extra $$s since I prefer to have a computer tower, which is heavy (am really old school!). However, sometimes they try to fix the issue remotely & the repair costs aren't exorbitant and well worth it. Would never think of going anywhere else. Thank you, ACM! read more

I really love this place. I took in my laptop to get my screen replaced (as I had dropped it), and they figured out how to register my computer under a warranty as I had just purchased it, and fix it with the warranty. Basically I ended up saving about 200 bucks (I have a touchscreen netbook) with these guys, because they were awesome enough to go out of their way to find out how they could fix my computer at an affordable cost. Likely not crooks, just totally incompetent. My laptop needing a new power plug has been there for over a week and a half and they are "still trying to fix it. After telling me it was done but they "needed to test it some more." When I suggested to solder a new plug shouldn't cost $140 labor the tech asked me if I had ever done that. We I replied that I had BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and 30 years working on large radars, he at last shut up. I guess I'll just have to take my laptop home, pay them there ransom and take them to small claims court. Won't have any luck cause there repair form does not say anything about them having to fix anything correctly. Hopefully this review will prevent anyone one else from getting ripped off. read more

My company, Anchor Printing, has been a long time client of ACM. While we fix most of our computer issues in house we cannot fix everything. We had two computers blow out in less than two weeks. A morning of three electrical surges blew out one that hooked to a large scanner on which we were saving several decades of work, including family history materials that were not replaceable. Backing up the materials scanned got sloppy, to say the least. Took in the hard drive to try to retrieve the thousands of saved documents, only to find out that the scanner software was old, not supported and almost impossible to find any information on - the other documents on that hard drive were retrieved with no problem, and provided to us on a portable hard drive. We were heart broken to loose all that saved material. But we took home the portable, plugged it into another computer (a docking station lap top), which immediately crashed, not to be turned on again, despite fervent pleas and trials. We took the laptop back to Dustin, with whom we had been working, who was able to fix that immediately (the crash was simply a co-incidence) and he and my husband spent the next several days trying to find any way to salvage the materials from the blown PC hard-drive from the scanner software. Dustin repeatedly called the company, whose techs admitted they knew nothing about the software, had never heard of it and had no idea how to find any hidden files from it. My husband, in his search, found a reference to the fact that all scanned docs using that obscure software were saved as TIFs, as opposed to the JPGs and PDFs we had been exporting. With that, Dustin was able to locate the lost docs AND then the hidden files. They are not organized the way we had saved them, but so what? The data was located, and that is what materials. Thank you to Dustin, ACM and my husband for finding and saving decades of work. Lesson learned, believe me. read more
