Fancy restaurant with a great patio. We are outside during the winter but they had plenty of propane heaters. The food was very good. I had a lamb shank with potatoes. Also had a crab cake that was outstanding. Next time I go I'll probably stick to the seafood. They have an extensive wine list but the wine is very expensive by the glass for what you're getting. I had two glasses of one of their less expensive reds and it was still $19 per glass ($38 total). The service was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful experience here this past weekend. The restaurant feels quaint, but still classy. The chairs inside are extremely comfortable, and the music sets the mood for an Italian/Mediterranean experience. Wow. All I can say is wow. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Absolutely nothing disappointed. Walking into this cute quaint restaurant was like transporting back to Italy. I honestly love how small and intimate it is. Fresh bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar are served after being seated. Our waiter went over the entire menu with us (love this), and recommended some popular dishes. We ordered their fried squid and obviously it was delicious. For our entrees we ordered their truffle cacio e Pepe, carbonara, and their lobster dish. The cacio e Pepe were made in the Parmesan wheel then topped with freshly shaved truffle. The lobster dish was also prepared tableside. It feels so special to watch your food be made in front of you. My husband picked Acqua Di Mare for date night and we were excited to try this newer restaurant in downtown Chandler! He called and left a message a couple weeks in advance but never heard back until they called him two days prior to confirm. Either way, we were happy to get a reservation. The restaurant is very cute and cozy and located conveniently close to one of the parking garages. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and we were seated inside but fairly close to the open door so it was a little chilly. The restaurant was busy and bustling and the waitstaff seemed a bit frantic at times. We started out with an old fashioned and aperol spritz - both excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the crab cake and lobster bisque. These were the highlights of the meal! The crab cake was mostly crab and little filler but still incredibly seasoned and flavored. The lobster bisque was balanced and tasty. I ordered the Acqua Di' Mare seafood pasta, which was decent. My husband ordered the cacio e pepe which involved a table side cheese wheel and some freshly shaved truffle. Unfortunately I think the cooking was a bit rushed and instead of being coated in a silky parmesan sauce, it was a bit chunky and congealed at the bottom. While the show was neat, it didn't taste fantastic. For dessert, we ordered tiramisu. We didn't realize they assemble it in front of you at the table! Unfortunately I don't prefer this method as the lady fingers did not have time to soften and were fairly crunchy and hard. The restaurant is cozy and adorable and they definitely try to incorporate table side elements and entertaining serving methods. The prices are on the higher side but we didn't think they were unreasonable. This charming Italian restaurant truly transports you to a quaint village on the Amalfi coast, with an atmosphere that's both inviting and authentically Italian. We started our evening with some fabulous, unique cocktails that were both refreshing and creative. For our primi piatti, we savored the Fried Squid and Burrata with Prosciutto, both of which were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our pasta choice, the signature Acqua Di' Mare, was delightful and instantly took us back to the culinary delights of Italy. For our main course, we shared the Steak Nikola, which was cooked to absolute perfection and seasoned wonderfully. To conclude our meal, we indulged in a deconstructed Tiramisu with a cappuccino, a fantastic ending to our exquisite dining experience. A special thanks to the outstanding staff, especially our seasoned server Steve, who made our visit truly memorable with his impeccable service and attention to detail. We are eager to return and explore more of the menu at this exceptional restaurant. Highly recommended! I would like to give 1 suggestion that would have enhanced our overall experience. They should remove the few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. There were 3 different cars that were parked adjacent to where we were sitting that were emitting exhaust that dampened the enjoyment of the dining experience. These parking spaces aren't needed because the restaurant sits just a short distance from a large parking garage. After returning from Italy, my husband desired to find a local place with comparable cuisine. Dining out was a last minute decision so we were glad to have a seat on the patio even though it was hot on this day prior to the sun setting. Reservations are recommended. :) Impressive was the complimentary bread with the staff snipping fresh basil on your olive oil. Thickly sliced, dense and delicious it was! The service was very pleasant, friendly and mostly on cue. With having plans for after dinner we ordered the spaghetti carbonara. Our entrees were presented a la dente- just like we had in Venice and Rome. Smallish portions here but in par with the sizes we ate in Italy the week prior. I did use the rock salt offered on our table to give my dish a boost in flavor. The Aperol spirtzers we enjoyed vanished quickly due to lots of ice that were in our drinks. The cost for the similar entrees and drinks were more costly here but I understand the location and upscale market Acqua Di Mare is aiming for. I would like to visit again and order an entree prepared table side. Perhaps the taste and the experience would be a notch above this visit. read more

What a wonderful experience. We went for my wife's birthday. Her pasta was prepared tableside in flaming Parmesan Cheese wheel. (Rigatoni Ala Vodka Con Salsiccia) with shaved truffle. So that was amazing. I had the Steak Nikola. Nikola is chef/owner. It's 9oz filet wrapped and cooked in Prosciutto cotto via en Papillote. When you start there, it just couldn't be anything but delicious, and it was. The dessert, which we almost skipped because they gifted us cannoli's. Our waiter Ben made Tiramisu at my table, and it was amazing. The place is pretty cozy. I didn't count, but maybe a dozen tables. There is outside seating as well. All in all, I typically love chef/owner restaurants when it feels like the chef is having fun. The food was as good as it was beautiful. Chef was out checking on guests as well. However, there was no need at our table because our waiter Benjamin was so attentive and helpful, but far enough away so my wife and I could have an uninterrupted meal and conversation. I've walked by this place a few times recently and had been wanting to try, and glad my husband and I finally did! Thought this was a great spot for a date night. All our food was great - on par for the price point too. The bread that came out was dense but still soft, and the calamari was crispy but light. I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and my husband got the French Riviera bourbon cocktail and both were very good. The rack of lamb was flavorful and very tender; I was eyeing the lamb on the menu before coming and it didn't disappoint. My husband got the seafood pasta and that was also great; I'm not big on tomato-based sauces but he let me try the octopus and scallops and they cooked perfectly. To top it off, the house made cannolis were some of the best we've had. The wait staff was super nice and attentive. The restaurant itself was small but very cute, and had a nice patio for when it gets a little cooler. Was fun to see people's dishes getting cooked table-side too. The hostess was kind, but the drunk owner came out, announced himself, and told me to "get the f*** out" when we requested a simple table accommodation. When I questioned his professionalism, he started yelling and insulting me in front of other guests, calling me an "a**hole." This place lacks any sense of hospitality or respect. Ok, this food, wow. I actually do have a few negatives BUT the food and sweet ambiance of this restaurant is too good not to give 5 stars and we will absolutely be coming back! What was so great? The risotto on the appetizer menu, I could've eaten 3 more bowls and licked them clean. The lobster ravioli in lemoncello sauce, whoooooa. I did start to get plate envy when I watched them serve up the table side pasta in the cheese wheel. But then I had one bite of this ravioli and the unbelievable sauce it came in, I cannot wait to go back and order these 2 things again. A few negatives....we were seated 6" from the front door, literally 6". This place is small, I get it, and that's part of what I like about it. It's quaint. This is just a spot I would not sit in again. It's awkward every time someone walks in or out, not to mention hot, as it's the summer. I look forward to going back when we can enjoy the patio. Our service was ok. Nothing major, just a lot of little things that added up to us walking out of there saying, hmmm, for a place like that, the waitress wasn't great. But the manager (maybe the owner?) came over to check in and apologize for the food delay, and the hostess was just lovely. So that balanced it out. Overall, even though we had a few complaints, this place is worthy of 5 stars, maybe even 6, because even writing this review, my mouth is watering for the risotto and ravioli. Disappointing Experience - Overpriced and Cramped I have a moment to write about an experience I had one late Sunday evening in January. It was a celebratory evening and I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a letdown in several areas. The food was mediocre at best and certainly didn't justify the steep prices. The ambiance, which was billed as cozy, actually felt cramped and uncomfortable. Moving around was a challenge, and when it came time for the so-called highlight of tableside preparation, it became an awkward experience. As a person with mobility issues (I use a cane), it was a literal obstacle. I can't even imagine if someone was in a wheelchair in this establishment. The lack of space made it difficult to execute the famed tableside service properly. When the table to my left had their shrimp scampi prepared, the chef was practically in my lap. It was so physically close to me, I could feel the heat coming off the dish. Later, when it was the table on the opposites side to me's turn, the cart couldn't even squeeze past us, so the dish was prepared literally at my back, adding to the discomfort. If you decide to go, I strongly advise against sitting at the tables immediately to the left of the front door--unless you're keen on practically preparing your neighbor's food when the time comes. The service didn't improve the experience. Dinner service was rushed but fine . It was after dinner that the timing became WAY off. After our desserts arrived, we waited so long for our coffee that we were nearly ready to leave before they showed up. To make matters worse, the server brought our cappuccinos and the check at the same time, AFTER clearing our dessert plates. Forgive me if I'd like to enjoy our coffee with our desserts. Adding insult to injury, I was charged for a soda I never received. The restaurant had no diet soda options that evening, with the only alternative being water. In the end, I was charged for a drink I didn't even get, which compounded my frustration. It was rectified, yes, but only after I brought it to someone's attention. Overall, I was disappointed by the experience. With the lackluster food, cramped space, poor service, and pricing that didn't match the quality, I would not recommend this place. There are plenty of better options out there for the same--or less--money. I for one will not be coming back. read more

Huge fan of this place, the food is amazing. Service was great, everyone was very friendly and attentive to our needs. My complaints are very nitpicky, but there are a few suggestions I would make to improve the outside ambiance. The light from the shop next door is somewhat harsh white light, I think adding some trees or vines or something to enclose the patio a bit more would help with that, and then replacing the bulb over the door with a warmer light so it matches the warm hanging lights on the porch would help as well. They also have some sort of little ramp by the door that makes a sound every time you walk on it, which was just a little distracting for me. Overall excellent spot, we will be back. read more

OMG so quaint and delish. I felt like I was back in Italy. The perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Love how small it is and how the owner servers and does table side service. The calamari and Caesar/wedge salad special. Hunny had the filet-cooked amazing with dish sauce and I had mushroom ravioli in an amazing sauce (waitress' fav). They comped us a couple of cannolis. I'll start off with the best part, the food. The tomato bisque was amazing and the lobster pasta was also great. One negative thought was no cheese wheel was used even though we got a dish that uses it. This was the experience and why we chose this place over north italia. Unfortunately we won't be back due to the service. We booked this for 830 (not knowing it closed at 9). They rushed our conversations and stated the kitchen closed at 845. So we had to quickly hurry to get all of our order by 855. After the waitress that we had didn't really know much about the menu. Multiple times not knowing what was still available (5 items not available on our visit). We asked to add shrimp to a dish and she said "we can add to the side". That's absurd cause what's the difference between adding it on plating and putting it on the side. Then they pretty much were grabbing dishes with food on them without asking first if we were done. This is unbelievable unless you were there. The ambience was muggy inside. It's like they don't have AC. I saw a post about someone sitting outside and being upset but didn't think inside would be muggy too. Fix your AC! I won't be back that's for sure. read more

It was solid, nothing crazy. Next was our apps: lobster bisque, pork belly, and burrata & prosciutto. Bisque was above average. Pork belly was tasty with an extra crisp top. Messy to cut but delish. The burrata & prosciutto were high quality and very delectable. We shared 3 entrees. Cacio E'Pepe was done tableside in the cheese wheel. A first for us and something we will probably get every time from now on. Sooo cheesy good. A special for the day was a seafood paella and that great. Full of 2 different size shrimp, mussels, and scallops. Super good seafood and rice. They said it was "for 2" and cost $75 but I coulda finished it on my own. Also had the Steak Nikola. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and the sauces were poured tableside for an awesome presentation. A cooked prosciutto rested atop the steak and it was great. We were just in Bari, Italy in the fall (a little flex there) and the outdoor dining area was similar to the same that we had there albeit there was 20 degrees cooler. I believe I had Lobster di Mare and the beautiful woman had the Lobster pasta. We switched, haha, because it was my birthday of course and hers looked much better. And in fact it was delicious, so delicious. Not sure of the other lobster dish as I didn't taste it. My boyfriend and I came here for a Valentines Day dinner. I made a reservation a little over a month in advance. We sat outside, the front patio seating is just as big as in the inside seating. I thought the inside was a bit small, so I was glad to sit outside, they have many heaters. My reason for coming here was to try the cheese wheel pasta which I have seen online. I got the cacio e pepe which gets finished in a hollowed Parmesan cheese wheel, and then topped with shaved truffles! They bring it table side so that you can watch the process. It was absolutely decadent and filling. My boyfriend ordered the tomahawk steak that also get finished table side with a fiery display. We also got the crab cake appetizer before the entrees. This is definitely more of a splurge/special occasion place, everything was on the pricey end. My boyfriend thought his steak was undercooked and had to recook his leftovers the next day. We had such an amazing time here! We have been wanting to try this place for a while. We were so excited to get a last minute reservation on a Sunday around 8pm. Steven was our server. He was awesome. He was very helpful with his recommendations and made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. I was starving and ready to order more than I could eat. The beef carpaccio was not good - I was excited after reading other reviews but it was too thick and too cold (dare I say almost tasted frozen) The cacio Pepe & lobster ravioli were both good, but not anything to rave about. Additionally for the price point the portions were rather small. Lastly, the real bummer was they did not do anything to make our anniversary special. I had the lobster di mare, and my spouse had the Nicola steak- both prepared table side and cooked to perfection. If I had only one criticism, I would say that the bacon added to the lobster dish caused it to be a little on the salty side-for me. But I like low salt and should have just avoided the bacon. We talked with one of the owners, our waitress and the sommelier- who were all very knowledgeable with aiding in choices. It was an anniversary dinner for us.
