It's all about the pizza crust with me and this pizza crust is AMAZING . I normally try (and succeed!) to take photos of the food for a review BEFORE we eat (because after all - who wants to see a half eaten dish!) BUT I did not get a chance this time as the pizza was put down in front of us and my kids (and husband!!!) dove right in (see pic for evidence!). I'm surprised I managed to get a slice for myself ! lol. Laughter aside - the service is stellar and this pizza place is the real deal and we will definitely be visiting again to try some of the other pizza flavors. Our first visit! Finally; been wanting to try this Italian family style café, Pizza & pasta bar, for some time. Today was the day. :) So glad we had this awesome authentic pizza lunch party (my wife & I). Love the ambiance and the service, and the FOOD!! What a flavor party! We had: Pizza Aglio, Olio & Peperoncino: Olive oil base, fiordilatte, roasted garlic, Calabrian chili, and fresh ricotta. Pizza Boscaiola: Marinara, fiordilatte, mushrooms, Italian sausage, and gorgonzola. Both with Napoletana Crust: Classic Napoletana Crust Soft & Fluffy. Everything was so good: appearances, aroma, and flavors! The Boscaiola in particular, WOW! A flavor buffet in each bite! So good. I also had a lovely glass of red wine: splendid. A lovely dry red with an interesting, pleasant aroma and taste. The service was lovely and attentive. Brought to mind my long ago visit to a Roma neighborhood café many years ago. First time here. We've been to the full Italian restaurant a few miles away but this was our first time to Acquario. We all ordered pizzas. My son and I ordered the Roma crust pizza which is the thin and crispy and my husband ordered the Neapolitan crust. We all agreed that the Roma crust is the way to go! All the pizzas were great in flavor. Love that they aren't all sauce. We also had the garlic bread but didn't need it. The pizza is plenty that you could share one if you didn't want a heavy meal. The waiter was friendly and offered recommendations as per our questions. The place is beautifully done. And this could definitely be a date night despite being in a shopping strip. First, I think rating pizza is one of the hardest things to do because there are so many different elements to pizza, and it really depends on what you personally love about it. So let's get started. We went to Acquario on a Friday for lunch. It was not very busy at first, but about 10 minutes later the place was pretty much packed. The person greeting us was very nice and promptly seated us. It was VERY clean, and the ambiance was very chill. They have a very nice bar area where you can sit, enjoy a glass of wine, and watch the game while you eat pizza. You can see the entirety of the kitchen from the dining room, which is always cool. Even though it was packed, it was not noisy at all, which made it feel more intimate. Service was good. We had several people come to our table to make sure we had everything we needed and to refill our water. I like the idea of having everyone aware of all guests. I think this allows guests to get taken care of quickly. However, it can be tough because you are then rated by your least capable person. There were none of those today, which again showcases the quality of the staff. The food. We ordered three pizzas and Bruschettone for an appetizer. The Bruschettone was SO good. Very fresh, and the bread was absolutely amazing. You can tell the ingredients are all fresh. The pizzas were good, and this is where it gets tough. I liked the taste of them, and the crust was also very fresh and fluffy. However, with a thin crust pizza, I would like more crisp on the bottom. The pizza was not cut all the way through, which made it tough to pull off a piece. This was a pizza where, if you picked up a slice, all the toppings would fall off, so you are basically forced to eat it with a fork and knife, at least at first. I also felt the outside edge of the crust was a bit too thick. That is not to say it was bad, because it was very soft, but I think it takes away from the overall balance of the pizza and the toppings. The pizzas also took a while to come out. I know it was busy, so that could have played a part, but there was about a 15-minute wait before they arrived. At the end of the day, the three pizzas and the appetizer came to $74, which, in my opinion, is a bit high. I would like to try their pasta to see how it is. It's not to say that I wouldn't come back, because the food did taste VERY good. Overall, it was a good experience and good food, I would recommend giving them a try! read more

Excellent Woodfire pizza. The sauces and light crust are satisfying. Pizza comes in one size, it's a persona + but not filling so plan to add another dish. The dining is interesting with glasses on the table and black / white employee uniforms, linen napkins etc , the things you would expect from elevated dining but in a casual dining setting. We did have pasta as well but while the sauces were good we didn't like the thick noodles. This is pizza must try but bring cash, there is a 3% charge for credit cards. read more

Finally got a chance to stop by for a Saturday night dinner. No reservations, only walk in. There was a substantive wait with people milling about outside. Because we were only two people we waited less than 15 min at around 630pm. Not bad. The decor is super cute, casual, and comfortable. Love the bar and open concept. Lighting is bright and decor is uplifting. Service was excellent from the hostess, to all the servers and the owners who were there. We started out with their meal balls, then arugula salad and two pizzas - the margarita and the verdure (I wasn't crazy about the huge chunks of zucchini but that's a matter of preference). Everything was delicious - loved how the pizzas are uniquely fired with chewy puffy crust and thin. So many things we wanted to try. This will become a regular place for us for sure! read more

This new pizza and pasta bar just opened this week. The pizza is the best I have had, possibly ever, anywhere. I love that they use flour imported from Italy for their pasta and pizza dough. I can eat them both with no gluten issues. And it's not because that flour is without gluten, it's because they don't use pesticides in Italy. (I am only borderline Celiac.) The bar side of the restaurant is a little more upscale than the dining room side. Both are casual though. Our server did not know her menu at all, (again, brand new place) but since we had eaten at their Italian seafood restaurant the night before, we knew what the spaghetti pasta would look like. Also, heads up, the Napule salad and the Caprese appetizer are basically identical. Don't order both like we did. It was odd that we weren't greeted by a manager since they are brand new and he was mostly just sitting on the bar side of the restaurant. No big deal; just an observation. read more

We came for the soft opening and everything was outstanding! I have to say the Lasagna was easily some of the best I've ever had. The Diablo Pizza had just the right amount of everything to make it a fantastic pizza. Our sever was prompt and polite and genuinely a very friendly guy. This is the Margherita on the Roma crust. Perfectly crispy and chewy. The blood orange prosecco cocktail was lovely, and the Napule salad of arugula, cherry tomatoes, and a generous portion of buffalo mozzarella was amazing. Wonderful crust to hold all the top quality ingredients. We tried several pizzas and the were all great. Favorite was the special Regina Magherita an elevated version of the classic simple magarita. The tutte carne was a great balance of several meats with the perfect cheese and sauce on the crispy chewy dough. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A great spot for a few drinks and slices. Was told it opened 3 weeks ago. Bright, modern, pleasant space. Were seated right away around noon on a Saturday, but the restaurant started to fill up over the course of our meal. Ordered the palloncini fritti (the waitress recommended the calamari fritti which I'll try next time), margherita pizza, the rigatoni vodka, and a Peroni (on draft). Encountered more Italians employed and dining at the restaurant than I have in the 20 years I've lived in the area. Everything was excellent. And by "excellent" I mean likely the best I've ever had. Probably the easiest yelp rating I've ever given. Only hesitation I have in writing this review is that I can see the restaurant becoming very busy. read more

2nd visit since first opening. We are weekly visitors to the main established full restaurant a few miles away. Was very happy when the Pizza and Pasta bar opened up. Our first visit was a few weeks ago and my wife loved the lemon pasta. I really enjoyed the pizza without tomato sauce. When back last night and was disappointed to see the lemon pasta had gone from menu. We asked waitress if it might be something that could be available that night and she said not , don't so ( she never checked ) Basically every pasta dish was tomato based. I had the same white pizza which was very good. Only issue with that was that it came 10 minutes before my wife's pasta dish. In summary first visit 2 weeks ago , 10 out of 10 Visit last night 7 out of 10 If I was being taken out tonight to the same place I would struggle to know what to order , likely a salad. But that pizza wow seriously absolutely fail. When I can't get it off the pan without it into my plate because there is no bottom crust holding together. It just tells me that the oven temperature at the top is hot and the brick isn't . Most of the pizza I had to eat with a fork and knife. Not making a scene and just trying to enjoy time with my wife. So the backstory reminds me that not everybody in Texas can make barbecue and not everybody who's been to Rome or New York can make pizza. read more

Was recommended and wanted to love it. I called earlier in day and said we had 7 and asked if they thought they would be able to accommodate us as they don't take reservations. I was told most likely as they had several larger tables for bigger parties. She said she would leave note for hostess. Got there at 6:30 and the hostess knew nothing. We had to wait 30 minutes basically in the doorway as there is no bar area or place to sit and wait. There was an opportunity to put two tables together which they didn't want to do at first as they said it would make area too crowded. Finally relented as I guess 7 people clogging up entry was not great either. Our waiter was good. The drinks took forever ( said bar was backed up.). Food came out fast. 6 of the people got pizza and everyone said luke warm at best. Guess that's why they come out fast they must have them made up and sitting around. I think pizza would have been good if anywhere close to hot. They seriously need to take reservations at least for larger parties. Not sure I would go back. Fairly disappointed as I heard raves about the place. Their other restaurant is excellent and one of our favorites. read more
