I gave this restaurant a second try, after having been disappointed the first time.  I was even more disappointed the second time.  I ordered a veal marsala that was anything but marsala.  The tough, dry pieces of meat were cooked in a tomato type sauce which had absolutely no marsala flavor.  It is very offensive to go to a place and be served laughable, very expensive food.  During my first visit here i ordered the special pork chop.  It was very dry.  I don't understand how people can enjoy this place.  Nope, never again. read more

Love the Floridian Salad..arugula, fresh orange wedges, red onions and Gorgonzola cheese..also love the Cioppino over strozapetti pasta! Hubby likes the meatballs over strozapetti but he adds a scoop of ricotta. The scotch salmon is amazing too!Their tiramisu is delicious! read more

Terrible food and awful management. Hard to mess up a chicken caesar salad but they did. Soggy salad and undercooked chicken breast. Pizza oven was not working so I ordered pasta for my daughter. Pasta was undercooked. I don't think Ive sent back food in years, but this meal was a disaster! Also, this restaurant is NOT child friendly. The manager rudely asked my 2 year old to stop listening to music. Odd request considering we were dining outside in the afternoon with nobody around. This was our second time here, unfortunately they sat us outside cause we didn't have a reservation ( my fault ) the heat was so unbearable that we had to finish our meal fast so we can leave. Certain dishes like the osobucco are fantastic, some basic dishes like the pizza or a simple pasta fall short for how much it cost. We went there to celebrate my comadre's birthday. The service was supreme. The food was great. They did their best and out us in Two tables of Four. One for the under 20 and the other for over 50 ;) Adolfo is so far the best person to have served us in a table in a long time! I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. COMPLETELY different experience than my last review! LOL! LAST minute, day of, reservation for a group of 16. GRACIOUSLY accommodated by the manager, Jason, and negotiated with some concessions by us to divide the group and keep all to one check. Zero problem with that and we are SO happy we got to have the experience we did! The service was IMPECCABLE. The food was to DIE for!! We were a group of 4 families with kids and everything was devoured. We had several pastas for the kids. Several appetizers for the adults including the octopus, calamari, and the chicken meatballs. Half my group balked at that choice and then tasted them - AMAZING!!!! We had gnocchi, fish francese, the salmon, the burnt broccoli, the steak with gorgonzola - every bite was better than the last. It was a really lovely treat on a Friday night. The atmosphere was lively and joyful and the whole experience was wonderful. And the price was not excessive by any means. Absolutely worth it. Not impressed this time whatsoever. We have been to Acquolina several times and this time will probably be the last. Ordered drinks and then our server totally forgot about us! Finally drinks arrived watered down and we were forgotten again. When he did come to our table, he was chomping on gum every time. The food was just ok, not great and the portions were skimpy for the price. Asked for a (very) small side of marinara sauce, when the bill arrived noticed we were charged six dollars for it, Ridiculous! Our first visit was last night. I don't know what took us so long we've lived in Weston for almost 16 years. It was an awful rainy cold night. They were very busy. The bar was packed. It can be confusing to order since the portions can be ordered for a single or family style. The service and server were excellent, way better then the food. It's very noisy so don't plan on much conversation. Food did arrive hot and quick Except for a delicious bread All side dishes are extra. I've never been to an Italian restaurant that doesn't serve a side of pasta with chicken parmigiana. The Cesar salad was dry and forgettable. Lentil soup was hearty and delicious. The chicken parmigiana was ok. I've had better for 2/3 of the cost at several weston restaurants. The pasta with sausage was delicious but disappointing. The sausage was ground and not in slices. This is officially me favorite restaurant in Weston! My boyfriend and I came here for a date night when we were [unsurprisingly] craving pasta and left feeling so stuffed and satisfied. We started off with two appetizers, the bruschetta and the beef carpaccio. Let's start off with the first one, the bruschetta. The bread was perfectly grilled and it tasted like it had been rubbed with garlic. Then the tomato mix came in a separate bowl and it tasted so fresh and bright, bursting with basil flavor. I liked that the tomato mix and the bread came separately, that way you could build each bite yourself and this also prevented them from becoming soggy before getting to the table. The beef carpaccio was also super fresh, piled with with arugula and served with lots of freshly shaved Parmesan. At the bottom of the dish were paper-thin slices of raw beef tenderloin. We squeezed the lemon wedge that the dish came with and served up the carpaccio like a salad. I would have loved to have some more beef tenderloin because the pieces were so tasty! Moving on to the main course, we both ordered pasta, of course. I was deciding between the baked ziti and the lasagna and when I asked our waiter, he suggested I go with the lasagna bolognese al forno. It was so massive when it got to the table and I loved that. The top was nice and crispy, thanks to the top layer of mozzarella cheese. Inside, the lasagna was stuffed with a deliciously creamy bechamel sauce and a super savory bolognese ragu. However, the winner of the night was the dish my boyfriend ordered, the pasta allá vodka with prosciutto. This was definitely the highlight of the night and we both couldn't stop eating it. He chose the whole wheat penne and they perfectly complemented the dish. The sauce was just the right balance between creamy and tomato-y. It wasn't oily at all, which is common with vodka sauces. We couldn't see the prosciutto but definitely tasted the little morsels throughout the dish. And, perfuming the whole dish were the flavorful shallots! These completely elevated the dish and made it different from any other vodka sauce we've had before. Long story short, get this when you go! I liked that there were family-sized portions and half portions. Both sizes are very generous - we actually ordered the half size of the pasta allá vodka but saved half of it because we were so full. Acquolina is very nice for a date night or a nice dinner treat. There's an indoor seating area as well as an outdoor area facing a lake, complete with my favorite, lights on the terrace. The service is great, the portions are hearty and, most importantly, the food is phenomenal. This restaurant has definitely earned it's place on my list as the best of the best in Weston! read more

I ate for the first here last month with my coworkers for our end of year holiday lunch. They have outdoor seating and the best fried calamari I've ever tried! I ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti and I thought it was delicious! Huge portion as well. You could share a dish between two people. I liked this place so much that I came back with my parents. We ordered the fried calamari again which is lightly breaded and the calamari pieces are thick and juicy with a side of marinara sauce. This time I ordered the penne a la vodka and I also loved it. The sauce was amazing!! My mom got the lobster ravioli and she also loved it. My dad got the calamari marinara with linguine and he ate the whole thing! They also give you bread to start off with and the servers have always been nice. This is a great spot and the tables outside are distanced well. What a treat this restaurant is. And yes, do not bring toddlers. Great decor and atmosphere. FRIENDLY hostesses. Our waitress Mary was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the Octopus APP which was fantastic ! Even the pepper and celery stick was full of flavor. who comments on those ? LOL. I am gluten free, not an option. GF pasta is available but the Sole dinners sounded so wonderful. Sure enough I ordered the Sole Oreganato without bread crumbs with sautéed spinach. Some of the best Sole ever I thought. Girlfriend ordered a cheese pizza. She said it was great. It looked wonderful and the aroma was wonderful. Portions are not small. The table next to us ordered 3 different pasta dishes and you could split them. Plenty of pasta if you go that route. It's Saturday night and my friend and I arrived before her boyfriend so we tried order him some appetizers and a cocktail before he arrived. The waiter explained to us that you can't order appetizers without ordering the main course at the same time so we should wait until the other person arrived to order. When we told him that was crazy he asked if we wanted to speak to the chef so he could explain why. We said no we don't want to speak to the chef we just want to order appetizers to have before we select our main course! Meanwhile we are starving and were able to flag down a runner for bread. I guess the waiter could see we were getting upset so he came over and said they made an "exception" and we could order the appetizers now. If it weren't for the fact that my friend's boyfriend was meeting us there I would have paid for my cocktail and left. It was really interesting how the waiter's attitude changed once the man arrived on the scene! We had Brussels sprouts and cauliflower which was delicious and calamari and the eggplant stack. It was very tasty but not really worth the drama we had to go through to simply place the order. By that time we had filled up on cocktails and bread and appetizers so we were not that hungry anymore. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs family style and were done. We usually order steaks or something more exciting but at this point we just wanted to eat something so we could get out!! Although the food wasn't bad, it was not worth the drama! Also I forgot to mention that the hostesses seemed shocked that we didn't have a reservation and acted as if we should be grateful that they were able to get us a table for 3. I didn't get a chance to look at the regular menu and I am not sure if we got items from their menu or if it was specialty made for the group. One of my favorite Italian restaurants. They serve both family and half portions, which is perfect for sharing. I usually come on special occasions since it isn't a casual environment; but, it is not very expensive. I've tried a few different dishes and love pretty much everything. The Calamari Fritti is very good! Not too chewy, but it has a good crunchy breadcrumb-coating. Served with tomato sauce. Their tomato sauce is very good. It has a smooth consistency that's tangy with the perfect amount of seasoning. I always put a generous amount on the calamari. The Zucchini Fritti is really good!! It's cut up into long slender strips, coated in bread crumbs and lightly fried, served with tomato sauce. The Petto Di Pollo Parmigiana or Chicken Parmesan is really really good!! I love it! Their Baked Ziti is also very good! But you will feel the effects of eating a dish like that 30 minutes after eating. Don't worry, it's normal!! The Pasta and Meatballs is not my favorite, but it's still delicious. The meatballs are cooked perfect and you can have it served with your choice of pasta. read more

No no no!!!! If you are going to call yourself a "ristorante" you have to do Italian well. I have been here three times. The first time, we came with friends as this was their preferred Italian restaurant in the area. I had the Gnocchi Pesto... and it was bland. The pasta was overcooked and, thus, too soft, and it lacked flavor. The service was horrible all night as they brought us the wrong salad and the entrees came out at different times... a big NO-NO for me. We ended the night with a cannoli... whcih was like a pastry, not crispy as a cannoli is supposed to be. It had been a while so, when a buddy of mine that works in the area said let's do it, I hesitated but agreed. The first thing I can say is that the Wine List is way over priced. Caymus ($58 retail) for $110? Cakebread ($65 retail) for $110? Jordan ($45 retail) for $100? Look it, I am used to paying two even three times over retail for wine. But in Weston? At Acquolina? My bud ended up ordering a bottle of Villa Antinori (retails for $18) for $45. Oy!!!! We began with an Eggplant Stack for appetizer which was nice and I moved on to the Sea Bass Special. The fish was nice as were the accompanying vegetables though I thought the fish was basically swimming in the accompanying sauce. If you are going to serve a Chilean Sea Bass make it the show! I went in feeling great but ended the night not feeling so hot. Stomach began acting up. I had to excuse myself twice to go the bathroom and I never EVER go the bathroom in a restaurant. I don't know, I want to like this place given its proximity to home but it just doesn't do it for me. I asked for some parm on the side. What I got was a small bowl of grated parm that looked and tasted like it came right out of a Kraft container. Did they buy this in bulk at Costco? I have no problem if this was Olive Garden but it's not. Why were they not grating or shredding it instantly from an actual block of parm? Acquolina looks and is priced like the big boys (Casa D Angelo comes to mind) but they are far away from being that grown up, elegant and graceful. It was the most painful credit card receipt I have ever signed. I do have to give them credit for an exceptional wine list which is also priced very fairly. Really enjoyed dinner here Saturday night. Requested outdoor table on open table and was seated within 10 mins of checking in with hostess at nice table outside. Ordered half orders of everything which was more than plenty for wife and I to share and to have plenty of leftovers. Baked clams -- amazing, perfect sauce Calamari arrabbiata - delicious sauce, very lightly fried and still tender Half chopped salad - cool palate cleanser Chicken parm - huge portion, so cheesy Gnocchi with vodka sauce and prosciutto - soooooo good Tiramisu - chef makes homemade cream, possibly one of the best I've ever tried. Service was incredible - everything was split and served to us at the table. Nice touch. Def recommend for local date night. All of that and out the door for about $100 including tip! Reminiscent of the authentic italian restaurants in New York, Acquolina is the most consistent and the most authentic ristoranre ive been to in South Florida. Fhe service is superb and the staff is very accommodating. This is the second time ive eaten here. The first time was impressive also. We sampled a smorgasbord of italian staples and ate family style. Tonight we all ordered ala carte and it was still delish. From appetizers til the coffee and dessert it was amazing. Great restaurant with a city vibe. Service is great. We made a weekend reservation for dinner. When we arrived, they had a people waiting to be seated which got be worried. However, when we went to the hostess desk, they honored the reservation and took us to our table. As soon as we seated they waiter came and got our drink orders. We shortly placed our appetizer order too. When the appetizers came out, they were served to each of us in our plates. Attention to details like this are great! The calamari wasnt so great. The stuffed mushrooms were a hit. They were soft with a flavorful, herbaceous taste and crunchy exterior from the breadcrumbs. The strawberry salad was sweet and fresh. We always order some kind of pasta dish when we come here. This time we ordered the broccolini pasta. Very good. Crunchy broccoli with nuts and a light oil. The steak was cooked perfectly. The eggplant dish was an artistic medley in looks and taste. Believe it or not, we even had room for dessert. We ordered the chocolate, chocolate mouse, cheesecake cake(one dish). I was going to give it a four starts but lately have noticed a degradation in service. Unfortunately, service has become suboptimal, with much lack for detail and focus on proper staff training. Totally annoyed by the management last night. Asked to sit in bar area to take advantage of happy hour specials. Made reservation on line and when I got there they said there was no room in the bar area but we sat 20 feet away on the other side of the bar. I asked if they would still honor the specials. The waiter said no and then the manager came over - he said since I made the reservation on line they couldn't do anything and the happy hour specials were just for the bar. In other words if I stood up and drank the wine at the bar it's 5 bucks but if I sit in this dumb table a few steps away it's $11. Out of principle I wouldn't get it. The food was still good but I think they handled the situation wrong. I was there last week and sat in the lounge area so I assumed I would be able to enjoy the same this week. I'm a regular here. The food is ok but the attitude towards customer appreciation and attitude in general is lacking. They're always so busy do maybe they don't care. Ehhhhh....done whining over wine. read more

I eat lasagna everywhere I go, but I could barely swallow the first bite because the noodles were like mush!! So soft that I thought maybe I was feeling ricotta and imagining it was cheese.
