We are stayed at the hotel for a long weekend and stopped at the bar on Thursday night to get a drink and an appetizer. When I checked in to the location, there was a promo that popped up for a free popover which I asked later to redeem. The gentleman at the bar chuckled and said "oh boy" whatever that's supposed to mean. Please don't do any promotions if you are unhappy with them. No need to make me feel bad for the promotion/coupon you are running after people check in on Yelp. Great service... vibes a little strange being in the lobby of a hotel... there's not really a separation, it's just completely open to the entrance of hotel... not bad just different. Food was ok some things better than others... the popovers seemed popular so we got them but they were kinda mushy and didn't seem freshly baked, not my fav and not nearly the best popovers I've had. Wedge salad was good. We got the acre style filet... lump crab was too salty... steak was well cooked but not the most tender. Key lime pie was yum. THIS place knows customer service! Recently, I've felt like the service industry is just not what it used to be but Acre 41 is still upholding the standard. The food was not exactly upscale in flavor but it was still good. We ordered the blue crab and artichoke dip (substituted the chips with bread), dry aged bone-in ribeye, and baked potato. The baked potato was delicious! The other two dishes were still good but not amazing. The vibe of the restaurant was cool but it wasn't that of an upscale restaurant which the menu prices would lead you to believe it is. When it came to our server, Ram, he was amazing! Our food was taking a little longer than expected and without us even saying anything he apologized, brought us a complementary wagyu meatball appetizer and gave us an update on the order. When our food came out he brought us complementary sauces for the steak and apologized again. All of which was not necessary but HIGHLY appreciated! This was our first visit here. Shrimp cocktail, couple of vodka mules to drink, then main course. Wife got the filet, and whipped potatoes. She said it was excellent. I ordered the 22oz bone in ribeye. Price was $85 for just meat alone. Sides were priced separately. A ribeye is the most flavorful meat you can ordered. The easiest to cook. However I was thoroughly disappointed. First. I hate ordering a "bone in" anything. Because you are paying for a bone in ounces. So a 22oz bone is steak is maybe 14 ounces of meat. So at $85. It better blow your mind in flavor. However it did not. In fact, I almost asked for so salt, pepper and some butter. But I decided to keep eating and see if it got better. A ribeye is not hard to make great, the fat brings the flavor. I would give that ribeye a 3 out of 10 in flavor. There was just nothing there other than the meat itself. I can cook a steak on an open fire with no seasoning and draw out flavor from the fat, smoke and fire. I really wanted the tomahawk steak. But it's was $225. And I didn't want to gamble on that with my first experience here. My wife loved everything about her meal. And I did as well. Every single other item we. Had was just wonderful. The cesaer salad, potatoes, both desserts.. Except for the steak. If you are gonna charge $85 for a $20 piece of meat. It better have amazing flavor. I eat at a lot of steak houses. And I always cringe at the mark up of the meat. But if it tastes wonderful, I accept it. If I have to guess on what happened as to how my wife's was amazing and mine was not. That the chef likely forgot to season mine completely. Any flavor I got was left over on the grill from a previous steak cooked. That's really the only explanation for a ribeye without flavor. I was impressed with Acre 41, not 5 stars, but very good. We were seated before our reservation time and our waiter John came to the table within 2 minutes of arriving. John took his time explaining the restaurant, everything to expect and helped us choose our cocktails and wine. At no time during dinner did we feel rushed. The restaurant is very nice for a restaurant attached to a hotel! I can't eat gluten and miss eating bread before dinner with everyone else. John brought me gluten free bread so I wasn't left out!! We both ordered the strip steak Texas style with crawfish. Both steaks were cooked exactly as ordered, but mine was a bit tough in spots. The whipped potatoes were delicious, but almost non existent. I would definitely recommend Acre 41 and by all means ask for John so you can have the same great experience. read more

We stayed in the Otis hotel over the weekend for a concert and saw acre. 41 was connected to it. My first impressions were good with sitting at the bar, and having some great cocktails, along with the bartenders being very attentive. Just before the concert we had a reservations here and it did not disappoint. For appetizers, we had the fried oysters and for dinner we had steaks and the twice baked potato and a corn. Personally, the prime rib with horseradish and a nice Ajou sauce was just perfection. The size portion of it was massive and came with a great mashed potato. My girlfriend had a fillet which was so good. It's shown in the photo but I forgot what the sauce we we purchased with the steak. I think it was a white truffle sauce it was just very underwhelming. The side dish that I would recommend everyone getting though is that twice baked potato. It does have hints of truffle in it and it truly was cooked to perfection. The only thing that kind of threw me off was our waiter. He was very nice, but we asked for a skinny margarita, and he actually didn't know what that was. Overall, I really enjoyed the dinner! We live here, but not downtown. Broadway in Austin gives us a reason to be tourists in our own town, and Acre 41 was the place we hadn't been tonight. Looking for that upscale pre-show early dinner (6pm), this place was exactly what we wanted. It's the restaurant attached to the hotel Otis, and they focus on really good proteins and expertly crafted sides. And bourbon. Don't forget the bourbon. More than 100! I had the belly on pork chop. She had the beef culotte. Tonight, I think she won the best dish prize. Better than any pot roast, the beef melted into the sauce and the carrots stood firm and crisp. My pork was excellently cooked with a semi-sweet and mildly acidic gastrique that complemented it well. The starter of marrow bone was okay, but missing depth. The sides were magnificent - was that marscapone and nutmeg in the spinach? Great drinks, food and service. Not your typical "hotel restaurant" and worth of the upscale casual restaurant scene in Austin. Great meal! read more

I ordered the truffled bucatini through a food delivery service. It was a bit pricey but I did add the steak. The steak didn't have an option to request how it will be prepared and I usually like it medium rare and the steak was well done (no pink at all, anywhere) so I did regret adding the 4 steak pieces for $12 since it was super done. The flavor was fine. The pasta tasted really good and was rich in flavor but did not blow me away. The pasta did not re-heat very well so it is probably not something I would order to-go again. This may just not be a good place to enjoy outside of the restaurant. read more

The blue crab dip is the business!!! Regardless of what you order from this restaurant the blue crab dip is a must!!! It's super creamy, the crab was well flavored and everything just paired so well! My friend had the Chile glazed organic chicken and although she enjoyed it, she didn't feel like it was worth the price. The wagyu burger was my second favorite. We enjoyed our Valentines dinner here. My husband had the Acre 41 old fashioned and I had a mezcal margarita. Both were delicious. We started with the truffle honey burrata and both said that was the star of the night. So good! I ordered a waygu burger without bread. The fries are DELICIOUS! Salty and shoestring style! So tasty. The burger was okay, made med rare just not all of that waygu flavor. My friend got the shrimp and grits and as someone who has lived in georgia for 10+ years and this was not the shrimp and grits I know. It was super soupy like a tomato soup, not that much grits, like very little and they added pork to it which isn't listed on the menu. First stop during our Austin vacation! Started out with a good one for lunch. I had the Gulf Shrimp and Grits - charred corn, blistered tomato, jalapeño and white cheddar grits ... it was absolutely delicious! The grits were a knockout, and the sauce on top was super savory and smokey and yum! Big juicy shrimp. Couldn't ask for a better dish. Hubby chose the Crispy Koji Chicken sandwich - brussel slaw on top with tomato jam. It was huge! And very good. The slaw was a great addition; lended an excellent texture and contrast. Chicken was ultra crispy. Served on an 8"or so hoagie cut in 3rds and with a pile of shoestring fries. We had a good meal, good service, and a great start to our stay in Austin. They have a large and beautiful bar that serves as a centerpiece and sets the vibe immediately as you walk in. I tried the Blue Crab & Artichoke Dip, Truffled Spaghetti, and Ode to a Nightingale cocktail. The dip was great to share. It was very creamy and had a lot of crab. The Truffled Spaghetti looks deceivingly small in pictures but the portion is perfect as a main dish. I really enjoyed it as an entree. The mezcal cocktail was really smoky and too strong for my taste. I was still able to drink it, but I wouldn't order this drink again. It's obviously convenient if you are staying there but it has a great menu for being a hotel restaurant so give it a try even if you aren't staying there. I tried the truffle spaghetti based on the reviews and was definitely not disappointed at all! The waiter suggested adding salmon, shrimp or chicken, I went with the shrimp. OMG it was fantastic. It was a very generous portion with three very large prawns. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. I wish I could have eaten it all but was stuffed. They had a very unique cocktail menu with several varieties of old fashioned cocktails. My waiter Justin was very friendly and promptly brought my cocktail and entree. Acre 41 gave us everything we were looking for on my mom's birthday. Great drinks, service, apps, mains, dessert. Everything was near perfect. I had the petite filet with black truffle sauce. It was amazing. Cooked PERFECTLY! Although mine was delicious the birthday girls' Acre filet was wayyyy better. The crab was perfect and so tasty. A friend also had the Texas style and ate enough that we didn't have enough to take a picture of it lol I had wine and the server was super helpful in ordering it. Five thousand stars for service and friendliness!!! Every staff member who I met was nice and made my happy hour special! I will admit, I was only there for the **half off happy hour special***, but I would really love to come back for a meal. Happy hour is Monday through Friday 5-7. The spiced cider mule is a perfect, light drink to unwind too. It's not strong (no mule is) so it's a great starter of a slow evening. The staff followed strict COVID rules. Everyone wore masks. We had three dinners and three breakfasts at Acre 41 while staying at the AC Hotel by Marriott, connected to the Otis Hotel (Autograph Collection by Marriott), where the restaurant is located. The portion sizes were plentiful, service attentive even coming out of COVID, and the ambiance was relaxing. The food, service and hospitality were outstanding. Kudos to executive chef Martin Wilda and team for concocting an interesting menu and preparing everything to perfection. My husband and I decided to go to Acre 41 for our anniversary. It was a really cool place. It's located in the University of Texas area of West Campus in a Hotel. We walked in and went to the hostess. We had a reservation and were seated right away. I liked that she asked us if we wanted to sit at a table or booth. I chose a booth. After sitting for a few minutes our waiter came over and talked to us about what we would like to drink. He was great. He gave us our menus and gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat. When he returned with our drinks we ordered. He was really friendly and asked us if we had any questions. We didn't and ordered. We started off by sharing the iron skillet cornbread which had zucchini, green chili and white cheddar in it with a dab of butter on top. It was really good. I could taste the chili in it and enjoyed the butter that melted into each piece. We also shared the Golden beet and apple salad. It comes with arugula, whipped goat cheese, sunflower seeds and a sherry vinaigrette. It was okay. I was actually surprised that there were no apples in it as it said in the menu but the arugula, and goat cheese with the vinaigrette was good. I'm not really a fan of the beets but I tried them and they were okay. For my main dish I ordered the Fred Linz Heritage bone in filet cooked medium with a twice baked potato side. This was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. It was tender, and cooked perfectly. The seasoning on it was just right. So good. The twice baked potato was just as good. It was covered with chives and cheese and was very flavorful. My husband ordered the 16 oz prime rib cooked medium rare. His came with a side of whipped potato, natural beef jus, and horseradish cream. I only sampled the prime rib but it was very good and cooked just the way my husband wanted it. We shared the warm cast iron brownie which comes with vanilla ice cream and pecan praline. It was really good. It was nice and warm. The ice cream was melting when they brought it because the brownie was hot. The pecan praline completed the dessert. It was a really good meal for this special occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, we splurged and got the following (all of which we would get again): Blue Crab & Artichoke Dip, Roasted Bone Marrow, Belly-On Pork Chop, NY Strip, Eloté, Warm Cast Iron Brownie, Drinks - The Gardenia, Blue Jay (+Titos). The biggest plus of the night had to have been our server, Monte, however. The atmosphere was businesslike,we had no wait time to be seated. It was clean ,neat and the hostess greeted us with a warm smile. The service was awesome (I usually remember names).
