Had lunch at Acropolis. We haven't been in years and were pleasantly surprised at the renovations to the restaurant. The menu is very diverse with lots of really good salads and Greek entrees. The lentil soup was very good too. Service was very prompt and friendly. We will be back to try dinner. Possibly the Mixed grill.

The food was great. They had hookah and 2 For 1 sangrias. The espresso martinis were god and the food was flavorful. The waitress was attentive and you can sit inside or out

    Salmon Siros with Orzo

While visiting Tampa, I have been trying to broaden my local restaurant horizons. Yesterday I was super excited to try Acropolis, in New Tampa, as a lover of Greek cuisine. I made a plan to order take away after my afternoon walk. The space was large and had a hip little vibe with pleasant staff. I excitedly placed my order for the Saganaki and Salmon Siros, which was touted as a salmon filet over orzo with roasted vegetables. $40 and 15 minutes later, I was on my way home with glee. That glee quickly became dismay when I looked in my bag. The "Saganaki" was a triangular pita bread with hard, extremely greasy cheese on top and a very pungent odor that filled the house. I decided not to judge before a taste...I took a nibble and it was worse than I feared...super dry, salty and off-putting..nothing like any Saganaki I have ever eaten. Next I opened my entree and saw what I can only describe as a soupy mess. The salmon was swimming in soupy/cheesy orzo and the smell, again, was quite unappetizing. One bite and I knew this was a strong no for me. I removed the salmon and attempted to "rinse" it off and re-spice it..figuring I would salvage some part of my money/meal and have it with the provided roasted vegetables. That did not work either..the salmon was rubbery and laden with bones and the roasted vegetables were soggy with zero flavor. I really wanted to love the food at Acropolis but to my utter disappointment and expense, I discarded the entire meal. I am generally not harsh in my reviews, but I found every bit of this food absolutely inedible. In my opinion, Acropolis is a definite skip.

My initial review was a birthday that I had In 2019,and in 2024, l visited here for yet another birthday. I enjoyed the service, and the food was yummy. They were so accommodating for my birthday dinner.

Hands down the best Acropolis in the Tampa Bay Area. Treated like a queen every time I go! Management is the absolute best, friendly and caring. Great staff and the food is excellent and do is the service. Always phenomenal service when I go and trust me they never fail me. Keep up the great work!

The customer service was genuinely some of the best we've ever experienced it was warm, welcoming, and so hospitable. The bread was phenomenal and worth the visit all on its own! We ordered two İnegöl Köfte plates to split between two adults and one child, and honestly, one plate would have been plenty because the portions are so generous. The köfte was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the rice was absolutely delicious, and the fresh salad was the perfect complement. I also ordered a side of chicken just to try it, and it was equally flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. For drinks, we tried the Turkish pear soda and the orange soda. Both were delicious, but the pear was my favorite and is a must-try! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish food with generous portions and outstanding hospitality, this is the place. We will definitely be back!

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. In the spirit of expanding our culinary pallet, we ordered two apps that were new to us. The Kebbeh was very good - i'd say similar to a meat hush puppy? Krispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The Baba Ganju was different than what I was expecting and not something I personally liked (not any fault to the dish, I'm just a texture person). The chicken shawarma and gyro platter (it's a platter at dinner) were FANTASTIC! Seriously, so much flavor, fresh, the meat was not overly cooked. Everything tasted very fresh and we seriously had no complaints!! We also ordered a side of Batata, which are sort of crispy potato cubes with chili flakes + garlic - so good! I will say when we got there, there was a mishap and we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and introduced to our server after we sat down. Once our server realized we were in her section, the rest of our service was amazing! I think that was just a one off fluke, and I would not let it negatively impact my experience.

We had a 6:30 PM reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty (about 4-5 tables occupied), yet we were seated at a very small two-top directly next to another couple where we could clearly hear each other's conversations. Several larger tables nearby remained empty the entire evening. When I asked about moving, we were told the tables were reserved and we'd need to leave by 8:30 PM ~ yet we stayed until 9:40 PM and those tables were never used... Service started off slow. No one greeted us for about 20 minutes until we waved someone over. When our server, Briana, arrived, she asked if we had been helped, which made it seem like there was a lack of communication between the host staff and servers. Food was okay: the branzino with grilled vegetables was very good, but the octopus was extremely tough and chewy. My plate was also chipped on both the left and right sides, which was surprising considering how expensive the dinner was. Drinks were fine, just a bit too sweet. What really caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to a two-top. The most expensive restaurants in Tampa don't even do it and this is not Miami. Overall, not a terrible experience ~ but not one that makes me eager to return.
