Very very unsatisfactory! I called them for dishwasher repair. Tech bent down, looked at on/off button, determined it needed new control panel for $500. Told him I would just as soon purchase a new Bosch instead of repair ten year old. He "offered" to reduce cost if I would authorize cleaning of my Clothes Dryer Vent!?! Somehow that made sense to him....Lol. Just paid his service call and sent him on his way...albeit a crooked path. read more

. i had a problem where the washer spin cycle wouldnt work. the first repairman ordered a pump motor, didnt fix it. the second repairman replaced the dry control board. didnt fix it. the third repairman , Juan, replaced the washer motor control board, three weeks after i called. I called Action Appliance in an utter panic as I had just come downstairs and saw water leaking out of the freezer. The fridge/freezer had started making a noise that sounded similar to a very angry gear turning and so I knew that I needed help and I needed it right away. I called Action Appliance and they were very helpful on the phone. In fact they got someone to come out just a few hours later. Juan arrived and he was absolutely fantastic! He was on time, courteous and knew right away what the problem was. Unfortunately in order to fix the problem and part needed to be ordered but he assured me it would come in within a few days and the office would contact me as soon as that happened to set up a time for him to come back out and install the part. Needless to say I was thrilled and really quite pleased with the service up to this point. Fast forward to four days later when I had to call to check in on the part and was told by the service rep, "Oh yes we have that part in, it came in yesterday." I scheduled a time to have someone come back out to install and was given a four hour window during the next day during when he would show up. Tick tock tick tock....nearing the end of the window I called to find out that he was in meetings and was unable to get out to my house that day but they would get him out first thing the next morning. Well the next morning came and went and no service repairman so I called again and was told that he would come out later that afternoon. Tick tock tick tock and no one showed up that afternoon. Finally after I called and asked to speak with a manager and was told by the person on the phone, well I am a manager so I can help, the appointment was rescheduled yet again for the next day. Finally after one week of no fridge/freezer yet being told "we can get out there right away" the service repair person showed up with the part and indeed install it. He was courteous and beyond apologetic but at the end of the day it is not his job to apologize for the support staff at this company. If my rating was based solely on the repair person I would give the company a 5 but alas that is not how things work and because I repeatedly got the run around by every single person I spoke to on the phone I am only giving this company two starts. They talk a good game when you first call but their follow through is quite pathetic. read more

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!! I'm a tenant working with my landlord to get the AC unit fixed because of 90 degree temps within the house. The receptionist told me they'd be at my home between 8 and Noon to fix my AC unit, but the technician showed up at around 4. He diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor. The next day he was supposed to arrive with a new compressor between 8 and noon again, but showed up around 4. He installed the compressor but didn't know how to get it to work so after a few hours he called two more technicians to show up and at 10 pm the other two technicians gave up. The next day I call and get put on hold by the receptionist. I'm on hold for so long that it dials back and I get the receptionist again asking to put me on hold. This happens two more times until I get the receptionist to say that the tech won't be able to come back until the next day. A day passes and the technician shows up hours after the time slot. This is the same tech who has know clue what's wrong with the work he did a few days prior. Five hours pass without anything going on. He leaves. A week later they come back to replace the unit, but crack a pipe in the process. Water has been leaking all over my basement for 5 days with no-show appointments from the techs. I have now experienced the Twilight Zone. read more

Gave me a $795 quote. Pressured me to pre-pay. Did NO diagnostics but somehow determined my oven needed a new motherboard and fan. When I said I wanted to get another quote he dropped the price by $50 if I agreed to have fixed that night. I declined. I called another company for a second opinion- was just a minor issue that needed re-setting and cost me less than $100 including the service charge by another company. My gut instinct was right. Then I looked up Action Appliance on the BBB- rating F. Good lesson- always check out the company before having them come out to your home. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I have never in my life experienced sh*ttier customer service - this company is a total joke!! I called them Monday (7/13) to schedule a time for a technician to come out & fix/replace my broiler element; this appointment was scheduled for Friday (7/17) between 12-4:30. I get home from the gym that Monday night after making the appointment & I have a crappy voicemail from these morons, wanting to know where I was because their technician was at my house MONDAY AFTERNOON!! I called them back & explained that we'd scheduled the appointment for FRIDAY, not Monday afternoon and they finally admitted their fault. The technician showed up Friday afternoon (within the allotted window) but didn't have the needed part...shocking. The technician said they had to get the part from the warehouse & would replace it Saturday (7/18) between 1-5pm. At this point I paid the guy $350 & was told I would have an invoice mailed to me within 30 minutes. I'm still waiting for said invoice. Saturday came and I sat and waited...and waited...and waited... I finally called them at 4:30 & was told that the technician was "running behind and it would be at least 6pm before they could get out there". I continued to wait and the dispatcher called at 6:30 and said they weren't coming. No explanation. They then rescheduled with me (again) for Monday (which is today - 7/20) and said they would be here between 11-3. Dispatch called me at 12:52 to say the technician was on his way (20-30 minutes away.) I called them again at 2:40 to, once again ask where the hell the technician was...this is when sh*t got real... First off, I was on hold listening to their stupid 'honest tutorials from real customers' (which is obviously ALL LIES) for 15 minutes before anyone answered the phone. When they did answer, the woman was rude to me (before I even complained!) I told her I'd been waiting for the technician who was allegedly on their way at 1pm. I was put on hold again (AAARRGGHH!!) and then a totally different woman answered. Not gonna lie - I lost my sh*t. Apparently the initial woman who answered the phone wasn't actually searching for my technician (who must've gone rogue at some point) but instead just transferred me to this other lady...who had no idea what was going on in time and space. I tried explaining the issue (loudly...peppered with obscenities) and she calmly explained that she didn't know what was happening, didn't know where our technician was, didn't know when anyone would come fix my oven but DID seem to think they would be here by 8pm tonight. So now, I sit in a bar, nursing a beer, writing this depressing Yelp review. Please cross your fingers that someone eventually shows up...I only have 4 hours & 9 minutes to wait... Oh, P.S., I've 'suspended payment' on my American Express...surely they'll figure that out at some point...I'm totally calling Sears next time... read more

I used Action Appliance for a problem with my fridge. The technician came in a timely manner. To fix the problem, before he ordered the cosmetic part, I needed to hand over the cash. Dealing with them in the next few hours when I wanted to cancel the VERY expensive cosmetic part was a hassle. I could do without the script of "are you having a great day?!!!", when dealing with the people on the phone was not making ait a great day. The guy had me sign an automatic sig pad, and demanded the money up front before he ordered the part. I didn't realize I was signing the reciept. and He said it was just for the record. An hour later I had second thoughts and didn't want to pay 600 for a piece of plastic. I have to pay 25% of that to cancel the order just hours after. I feel that I was not given options (like not ordering the part) Not to go into the details, but next time, I'll deal with a less corporate, more personal company, who doesn't charge 25% when you don't have the job done, and doesn't demand total payment up front. And is willing to create an itemized bill. read more

I have uses Action Appliance three times, the first two times were very good service and reasonable rates. The first was plugged up washer pump they cleaned and told us how to repair it next time every few months or so to get rid of loose change or what have you.The second time was a dryer belt needing replacement, service technician came out was very polite and fixed the problem at a reasonable rate for $275. after this I put their card on my laundry room wall and believed i had a appliance company that was fair and reasonable. Then my washer pump went out and called them again and they sent out a aggressive young man, who wanted $480 to fix the pump and he also sold me on a new garbage disposal. Well to make a long story short I paid the tech about $730 for both jobs, over $200 too much. after researching the part for the washer at Sears for my kenmore washer was only $80 and it took him about 35 minutes to repair and the same for the garbage disposal so for a little over hour in labor and a $60 disposal I was waaaay overcharged. I HAVE TOOK OFF THEIR CARD AND FEEL STUPID THAT I USED THESE PEOPLE AND I HOPE THEY GET THE MESSAGE THAT YOU YOU MUST BE FAIR AND HONEST. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This company is out to rip people off. My washing machine started making a loud noise and was smoking after a load. After researching, found out it needed a gasket replaced.Had the tech come out, who was supposed to call me at least 20 minutes prior to arriving and just showed up. He came in ran a load for a few minutes, then went out to his truck before the spin cycle even started. Sat there for several minutes, then came in to tell me that all that was needed was to repair the leak. Ummmmm, there was never a leak... Wanted to charge me $343 for a repair of a part that costs anywhere from $40-70 (retail). I called the company back to complain and was transferred to a manager/owner/someone in charge. He proceeded to yell at me, not allowing me to talk saying that he was not retiring off of the $56 I had to pay the tech to sit in his car to diagnose my 'leaking' washing machine. This company doesn't deserve a single star. Hiring Action Appliance to replace my AC and furnace was one of the worst mistakes in my life. The company is horrible. The ladies answering the phone leave you on hold forever. Then once you talk to them, they cannot give you any information other than schedule an appointment. One receptionist didn't even know what freon is. Next, after spending $10000, the company did not complete the paperwork or do the inspection so I could get my rebate. It took months of me calling to get that done. Now, only 3 years later the AC is broken. They would not replace the entire unit as the tech recommended, which is still under warantee, but will just replace the condenser. How does a repair company not have the parts, I don't understand? But after an initial 2 day wait for the part, it has now been 10. After calling three times today, they still have no idea when a part will come in. I have also been promised return phone calls, but they do not call back. It is just another way to avoid solving the problem. Their tech was supposed to come this afternoon with their same day service, however when I call 30 minutes before close, they still can't tell me when one will be there. Do not get yourself mired in incompetence, stay away from Action Appliance. The only thing they can do is take your money. read more

We had a dishwasher was a little old and had stopped functioning. Action Appliance sent technician 1 or replaced a fuse and left without testing. DW would not finish a cycle. Technician 1 returned, blamed a "bad fuse" , replaced it again leaving without testing full cycle. DW again would not finish a cycle. (fuses are very reliable, they only open circuit if the current load is too great). Action Appliance sent out technician 2 who replaced the heater element and left without testing a full cycle. Failure again. Technician 2 returned to replace the seal and some sealant and various other parts. He left again without a full cycle test. The dishwasher leaked onto the floor again; meanwhile we had over $300 in parts and service calls invested as well as having to hang around for 3 hour service windows each time.....and every time they arrived late. As a result of this horrible repair service experience we purchased a new dishwasher. The only good to come from Action Appliance is that they disconnected the old unit for us at no charge on their 5th service call. read more
