The instructor Cortney led us through several poses, allowing for deep stretches as we reflected on our day. She encouraged us to go in and out of poses as needed based on our comfort levels. The focus was truly on breath work; specifically breathing through your nose to allow warmth of air and exhaling through the nose or mouth. The temperature is 87-92 degrees is what it feels like and the yoga poses are easy to follow. You can get your own mat or use the ones provided from the facility. I carry my own towels and water. The only feedback I have is, it would be much easier to follow if the instructors actually did the yoga poses to demonstrate. Usually they just narrate on a mic what needs to be done which definitely leaves room for error/injury specially for new beginners.

But if need be, there's also a parking lot in the back. The staff has always been welcoming, warm, and Calm. The classes are always started with an intention and you touch on that at the end. I took the Warm deep stretch yoga class with Sarah Carlson and it was exactly what i needed for a beginner start Sarah was amazing at relaxing the room, but also describing what positions to do and what our body should feel in a very zen way. Sometimes in the past i felt like i was overwhelmed when trying to listen to the directions of where to put my hands hips feet etc but i was able to truly close my eyes and melt into the forms of the yin flow yoga. Also i really appreciate sarah's cultural respect to the indian roots. I came out of the class feeling like i got a 1 hour massage and hug all in one and just signed up for the other sessions i could with my pass. Might buy a mini pass but want to try the other classes too!

First things first... let's talk about the parking. Parking is free and conveniently located directly in front of the studio. If you're familiar with the Sandy Springs area, it's in the same shopping center as Kroger, making it incredibly easy to find and access. My instructor for this class was Dayna, and she was so warm and welcoming. One thing that really stood out to me was that she immediately recognized I was new to this location. Rather than simply checking me in, she offered to give me a quick tour of the studio and shared a little about Highland Yoga before class started. That extra personal touch made me feel genuinely welcomed, and it's something I always appreciate when trying a new location. The studio itself is spacious, clean, and very well maintained--consistent with the experience I've had at the other Highland Yoga studios I've visited. It's clear they take pride in creating a comfortable environment for their members. Another bonus for me was the class schedule. They offer an 8:15 a.m. class, which I found to be the perfect middle ground. It's early enough that you can get your workout in and still have plenty of time to tackle the rest of your day afterward. Overall, this was another wonderful Highland Yoga experience. Dayna's kindness and hospitality really made this location memorable, and I would absolutely return to take another class with her.

I know I usually do yoga when I'm stressed out, need relief, want to relax and challenge my body to connect with the earth and become more grounded in the here and now. It's a lot to deal with I'm sure for the teachers, and this is true for any yoga studio. Yoga Hive is extra amazing at empathy and empowerment. They challenge you, and you definitely will get in serious yoga shape, but in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. The yoga instructors are really good here, and I mean, REALLY good. The sessions are filled with beginners to advanced dancers who are beyond gorgeous with their postures, and everyone is celebrated. The instructors are top notch-- they support the super beginner to the professional dancer. It's a very diverse and vibrant community, which I just love so much.

Every "body" is welcome here. You don't have to be an expert or be super flexible. Each person does what they can do, and we all still get the full benefits of this awesomely therapeutic practice. The teachers are SUPER nice and knowledgeable!! The temperature is ideal- SO therapeutic. It helps us stretch our muscles and also to purify our bodies. This is a delightful place to practice Bikram.
