Typical hard sell dealer. It seems we were initially approached by a new sales person who was following the process very closely, including taking our name, phone number of filling out a form, etc. even though we told her we were clearly tire kicking We told her we were exclusively shopping for a hybrid SUV in the premium level (Acura) as I thought I had heard they finally had a model Turns out they didn't so we made for the door. Sales manager, then came out to try to save the sale, but since he can't make cars himself, we left. It actually really stressed my wife out bad experience, mostly by the sales manager Has a lifelong purchaser of Honda motor vehicles, I am no longer since it's very clear that Toyota has mastered the hybrid sector and Honda continues to flounder. I'd imagine it must be crushing for a car dealership to not have a hybrid SUV solution for this many years. Sure they now have an all electric option and they have the down brand Honda CRV hybrid but they're just not getting it done. read more

Stay away from Brandon. Terrible sales person, and terrible "manager". I just had the worst possible experience at Santa Barbara Acura (Honda). I came in to test drive an Integra Type S, having just come from the Lexus dealer (where I had a pleasant experience test driving the IS 500). First sales person was young and did the typical high pressure sales things (what monthly payment do you want, how much are you going to put down?) I told him I was just here to see the car to see if I liked it, and wasn't ready to buy, but that I was more interested in total cost and (if I financed) the APR, and my down payment could be 10-100%. After he finished "filling out his paper", I went to go look at the Type S they had in the showroom. Once the sales guy came back I asked if we could take a test drive. He ran off to "go check" and came back with his "manager" Brandon. Brandon wanted us to "go run numbers" first, and I told him I was only interested in test driving. Brandon said we couldn't test drive without agreeing to a price. He then said "people that buy this car don't need to test drive." I told him that was BS and left. As we were leaving I saw Brandon come out and I went to him to tell him they lost a customer. He didn't care. He said buyers on the Type S "want zero miles on it", and that he'd never let anyone test drive them. Definitely make me want to take my cash elsewhere. read more

Be Aware!!! Don't trust this dealership!!! We live at two and half hours drive from this dealership. I made an offer to their salesperson Amrit for an used Honda Civic on the phone. I was told that it was a very reasonable offer and he would present it to his manager. Manager Brendon ( Brennon?) called back and confirmed that we were willing to pay the amount we offered plus taxes and government fee for that car. He said that the offer was very reasonable and was something he could work it out but he needed us to be there face to face to make the offer so that he could work on that. I told him that we would only willing to drive over two hours to go there if our offer was acceptable to them and the car would be there when we got there. Brendon ( Brennon) called back and told us that he would hold the car for us till we get there and told us again that our offer was very reasonable and if we could go, he was sure that he could work it out for us to walk out there very happily. We drove over two hours and got there at 4:47 pm. After a short test drive and filling out all the information Amrit requested including our social, DL, address etc., the car price and added taxes and all government fees. It was passed 6 pm already. He went to present to his manager. He said that Brendon (Brennon) was there but was not available. He later came out with a manager named Robert. Robert started his sales pitch which we told him we had heard all of that on the phone and we just wanted to proceed on the purchase because after completing the purchasing process, even without financing, it would be almost 10 pm before we could get home. He presented us an amount that was $1000 more than what we presented and started his sales pitch again. We told him about what Brendon (Brennon) said on the phone, which Amrit confirmed to Robert that what I said was true. We told him that we drove over two hours there to purchase the car for that price. Robert continued to push for the higher price. We told them that it was very dishonest for them to try enticing us to drive over two hours there just to try to sell us at higher price without keeping their end of promise. We walked out very frustrated and was very angry. I told them that I would write the review to tell people not to trust them because they are dishonest!!! read more

I love my ILX. Making the experience of owning an Acura even better is Jee as service advisor. I had a problem with my key auto-lock and tried many ways to solve it (new batteries, changing the vehicle settings, etc). Finally, I called Jee. With a few diagnostic questions, Jee told me what to look for (another key in the cabin). Problem solved! Plus, I hope I'm remembering his name correctly, John? in the parts department was very helpful and kind. ps. My wife and I have a 1.5 year old and a newborn so coming out to the dealership just wasn't in the cards for us, especially in the middle of a pandemic spike with omicron. I worked closely with Cynthia who was always responsive, whether by phone, text, or email and never beat around the bush with pricing. She was able to get all of our paperwork done remotely and delivery arranged in less than 24 hours. I was in touch with multiple other dealerships with ridiculous markups, add-ons, and more than anything, a lack of transparency with their pricing and lease pricing breakdowns. This place was the total opposite and a breath of fresh air! If you're looking for an Acura, even all the way from LA like us, this is the place to go to. I recently had to purchase a new car and didn't think an Acura RDX was in my budget. I decided to walk in anyways to see what they have on their lot. I was quickly greeted by Farid. He was professional, quick and knowledgable. He showed me the RDXs they had there and I was impressed but they did not have the color that I liked. He and his manager didn't hesitate to tell me that they would bring it in from another dealership. I short, a week later when I went in to hand them my deposit, I saw a new RDX on their lot that they had just received in the night before in a different color. I asked to take a look at it and Farid told me that the model of that particular one was the next package up which was about $4k more than the initial car that they were going to bring in with me. He saw that I was very interested in that one and went above and beyond to work the deal down to just about what I would've paid for the lower model. So I walked out a few days later with a brand new car at a price that I was happy with. i definitely recommend Acura of Santa Barbara if you're in the market for one. I received a diagnosis from a local mechanic that I needed a new alternator. After getting quotes for 5 different mechanics they all quoted me at prices that were far out of my budget. The Acura dealership has always taken care of my RDX, but since moving to Solvang, I was hoping to find someone more local who was just as trustworthy and reliable. I called the dealership for my 6th quote on replacing my alternator car and the service advisor had a hunch that I might not even a new one. Turns out he was right. My car was totally fine just having replaced the battery. I wish I had remembered his name, but he had my best interest at heart and saved me hundreds of dollars. To this day, the Acura dealership in every city I have lived has always taken excellent care of me. I will always be grateful. read more

It turns out there's only 4 dealerships in the entire country who have the specific vehicle I'm buying. Santa Barbara had one of them! Much to my delight CJ was by far the most professional of all the salespeople I have spent the better part of week talking to trying to track down my car. He provided accurate (you'd be surprised how tough that can be to come by!) and detailed information. If he didn't have the answer to a question, he would find out and call back immediately. The car was priced well, however, the shipping cost (which is out of the dealers hands) caused the sale to not make financial sense for us. Ultimately we opted to just purchase the trim level above at the local dealer. I highly recommend working with CJ who I can confidently say is one of the best in the biz! read more

I was looking for a new car and one of my choices was Acura ZDX. Since my local Acura dealership didn't have the black one, I decided to contact other dealerships. After finding a black ZDX in Santa Barbara dealership and negotiating through email with the salesman, Tony C., he sent me an offer with a detailed statement that I accepted. So, I got a one-way rental car with my wife and we drove 4 hours to Santa Barbara to pick up the car. Thought I had an appointment, from the time we arrived Tony C. told us he is very busy because they are only two in the office today, so he just gave us the key to do the test drive. After a quick test drive, we completed the application, but he put us on hold for more than 2 hours with lies like we are working on other people's application and the bank is so busy and there is only one person there that has slowed the process! Meantime, I asked him if I can use the college graduate program, $500 rebate, but he said no, the program is only for undergrad science students!! I had completely read the program requirements in the Acura website and I knew that he is lying! After even more lies about the waiting time, he brought a statement with numbers that were completely different from what we had agreed on! And he said we have two general managers, the first offer was confirmed by the other manager, now the second manager doesn't confirm that offer!!! Also, I found he has increased the price $500 and included $500 graduate program rebate in the statement!! (He told me that I couldn't use the rebate, now he is using the rebate for the dealership, not for the customer!!!) After this big lie, I was sure that they were playing game from the first point. They put us on hold to make us tired after 4 hours driving and they knew that we have a one-way rental car and we should return the car, so they thought this situation would force us to say yes to all the lies they told us in last 2 hours. $500 is not a deal breaker for a 50k car, but I would never do business with someone that has said many lies from the time we met. I directly told him you are playing game and we left the dealership. It was not only the Santa Barbara Acura that lost my business, the whole Acura company lost it as well. I believe Acura is not a luxury brand and there is no difference between their service and Honda's. So, I decided to consider my other choice that was BMW X6. It was a little bit more expensive, but from the first second I really felt that I'm buying from a luxury brand. I just got the X6 and I'm really happy that I didn't do business with Acura, especially Santa Barbara Acura! read more

If it was possible to give zero stars I would have. I have never written a bad review about anyone but I had to give warning to anyone interested in Acura Santa Barbara. I loved my Acura MDX until at 40k miles it began to have problems. The service department was rude and condescending and did not fix my problem. I was told they did an alignment and my car "barely" passed but since it passed it was no longer their problem. I was treated so poorly in there and will NEVER buy an Acura again. Beautiful car but not worth the trouble. And their service department proved that they do NOT stand behind their cars. They do NOT care about or listen to their customers. read more

I have always known that dealerships are ridiculously, and often needlessly, expensive. However, I assumed that they would at least be very clear with where your money is going before you actually get the work done. I am very disappointed in the way SB Acura handled my situation. I went in with the following concerns: - Alignment - Headlight malfunction - Electrical issues (check engine light on for no reason) All of these were things that I expected they could tell me what the issue was for a small fee and then tell me what part would be needed, leaving me to decide if I would wish to pay for the part. However, Acura decided that they needed to charge me $530 and the only thing they fixed was the alignment. The rest were simply labor costs for "checking" what the problem was. I went to a local mechanic and had the headlight done for half the price that Acura said it would be. They took my money without telling me how much it would cost to only see what the problem is. My first new car on my own. The process was unbelievably easy and painless! Went in for a test drive with mike on a Sunday, loved the ILX but was hesitant about my credit and getting financed. I left my card with mike and he sent me an email the following day to let me know that I could get a great price for my trade in and for the new car. I pulled the trigger and filled out the app online and within hours I was approved and the price was locked and loaded! I set up an appointment the following Friday to sign everything over and get my new car. Mike said tony was going to help me with the final details. I walked in went across the street to sign paper work and off I went in my new car in less than 30 minutes! Great experience! No haggle! Online emails were clear concise and so much easier!
